Original Philly with american white cheese, sweet peppers and onions

I had the original philly cheesesteak sandwich. It was delicious and filling. The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and considerate. The location itself was very clean, and you could tell they take pride in the food they serve.

Short and simple review. The Philly was a solid choice for a big sandwich. $14 dollars for it seemed a bit steep but that's the same price as most subways now. This was a great Philly cheese steak. The peppers were perfect tender and firm. I got mine with pepper jack. Walked right up to the counter. It was towards closing and the smelling of mopping was thick in the air. It was a bit off putting but the store itself was clean looking. The guy behind the counter's advice was to not get the classic cheese wizz. Will eat again

This was my first time here. The woman who took my order was very friendly & helpful when I wanted pickles after I ordered. My Classic Philly Cheesesteak was good. I moved from Philly, so I'm incredibly familiar with cheesesteaks. You might even call me a cheesesteak snob. Again, this one was good. I loved music playing and the art displayed on the walls. I'll be back again.

The girl working the front register put me and my brother on to the lunch special. So worth it! As a big fan of cheesesteaks, this place did not disappoint. I will definitely be back. Keep doing what you guys are doing. The inside was cool. The outside experience is K St. so you know what that's like.

I had gotten (2) original full Philly cheesesteaks from this location with provolone, peppers and onions for $18.03 dining in. It was pipping fresh/hot, and seasoned well. It was good for a Philly cheesesteak right here in Sacramento. Very filling sandwich as well. Probably my last time going back. The owner is yelling at people on the street to come in his restaurant, with what looked like a "Modelo Negra" in his hand. The owner is yelling at his cooks and server still with the beer in his hand (I was very shocked seeing this) ...all while the server is serving and taking orders! music was very loud and as the owner is trying to talk to us and make jokes we can't hear him or anyone else. He proceeds to turn it down to conversate, then turns it all the way back up. It was extremely hot in the restaurant as well. I had to hurry up and finish my food, as the music was so loud it hurt my head and it felt much cooler outside. The art is amazing though, the place is decked out with cool Sacramento decor.

Walking past this place, you'll be drawn in by the classics and oldies music blaring from their outside speakers, instantly setting a positive atmosphere. The Philly is a fantastic lil Philly cheesesteak sandwich spot in the heart of downtown Sacramento on Kst. The two gentlemen staff were very informative and helpful when ordering, we were welcomed right away. There is a kiosk or cash register just ask for help if you need it. We notice the lunch special which incudes a large freshly made cheese steak, fries and a drink for $21 so we took advantage of this awesome deal. Food arrives fast and hot. Very tasty and satisfying, loved the sweet peppers and cheese. Fries were crispy, and fresh. And I loved that they have black cherry flavored soda! I'll be back again for lunch soon!

Classic cheese steak with onions, peppers, mushroom, jalapeno

Sac has been lacking in the philly cheese steak game for awhile so it's a pleasure to have one here! The Philly was solid, I enjoyed the sandwich. I got the Classic cheese steak with onions, peppers, mushroom, jalapeno. Quality of beef is good. I would highly recommend getting extra cheese, I think that would have made it a 5 star sandwich if it had more cheesyness. Garlic fries were pretty good, they give a lot and there is a ton of garlic. Fries are steak cut style and are decently crispy. Friendly service. They have a TV so if you pop in during a King's game it will be on!

    Original Philly! Soooo good!

My husband and I wanted to try something new so after reading the Yelp reviews, we landed here. Excellent customer service! The young man who took our order was friendly and had no problems answering our questions. We both landed in the original Philly w/provolone cheese & hot peppers instead of the sweet. We also shared a side of garlic fries. The food was great!! Piping hot, prepared to perfection with a nice amount of steak! $14 is a great price point and we both only managed to eat half of our sandwiches! We for sure recommend you checking this place out and we will definitely be back!

This place is AMAZING! Been here twice now and had the classic Philly, and Philly fires!!! The cook Rob hooked it up both times! The portions are huge, lots of meat and toppings. We seen the chicken tenders and those are huge also! I will be coming back to try everything else on the menu. Thank you Rob for the amazing food! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes good food.

Went for lunch and definitely will go again! People are very nice and helpful! There was a line for lunch but service was still fast. Sandwich was juicy and very delicious. I witnessed how many times those fries were tossed into the seasoning and every bite were covered perfectly! Portions are huge so I saved the half for dinner! I had a pick up so I don't have much to say for the ambience but it was a friendly neighborhood sports bar ambiance. Thanks for the mint!

Ok. My first time in here. Was met with music turned up to 11. I had flashbacks of my time in retail where we would blast the music after closing. Now I feel old, but the music was so loud I couldn't hear the person taking my order. Person after me also had same issue. Ordered the Philly salad, to go. Delicious meat. The salad bit threw me because it's hot meat off the grill into spring mix which immediately wilts. Kinda weird, but I have no solution. Flavor was great, interested in trying an actual sandwich next time. Wish Yelp allowed me to give half stars because I would've given 3.5.

The good: food was great! Not too greasy like some cheesesteak sandwiches are. Bread was soft and the meat was tender. Very flavorful! The bad: just the awkwardness of the how the owner/management treats his staff. Yelling at them and making them repeat themselves to him in a demeaning tone. Cussing out loud for everyone can hear. The employees were very humiliated in front of everyone. Just felt bad for them.

This small local cheesesteak restaurant quickly became one of my go-to's and is now part of my…read moreregular food rotation. First off, the cheesesteaks are delicious. So far I've tried the supreme cheesesteak and the hot cheesesteak; both are really good and highly recommended. You can't go wrong with the top three, which I believe are the original, the hot, and the supreme. I think the highlight of these cheesesteaks is definitely the bread. It's soft but not too moist, providing the perfect texture. It's not hard at all, like a Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwich, but there is still a nice crust and crunch to the bread with a perfect taste. The pictures don't do it justice from the surface, but as you bite into it, they mix the melted cheese of your choice very well with the steak for a nice burst of flavor. Pair it with their amazing original French fries that remind me of some really good fast food fries, like from McDonald's or other local fry spots. The service is what you expect from a local small restaurant. They're nice, chill, and very simple. You order, and they call you when your order is done. They treat you well, especially if you ask for extra condiments such as mayo and ketchup, though ranch does cost extra. They serve it on a nice little metal tin platter with parchment paper, which makes it feel and taste great, especially when you eat it fresh inside the restaurant. To my surprise, the first few times we ordered from here, we got it to go, and it was still good by the time we brought it home. Regarding the size, I would say normally you can't go wrong with the standard size, which is the regular or the small. It is filling already. If you're extra hungry or just really feeling a cheesesteak, the large will definitely do you justice and make you feel satisfied. In my photos, I've attached pictures of the supreme and the hot cheesesteak. You can't go wrong with either, but my choice is definitely the hot. I've also tried their other items, such as the standard hot dog, which comes with the same bread. Based on other photos people have posted, it looks delicious as well. It is like a standard hot dog, but I'm telling you, the bread is something very unique about this restaurant. I think that's what makes you want to come back. The bread, plus the way they cook the cheesesteaks and everything put together, makes this place stand out. The vibe inside is very chill, serving more as a quick-eat area. It is a nice place to just get lunch or a quick dinner. It's pretty small, maybe fitting only 30 or so people, and they're located right next to the movie theater. I feel like this shop is a small hole-in-the-wall, and I highly recommend it. I don't think you would regret it.

The portion of…read moremeat was good for the size of the sandwich, but the "large" felt smaller than expected, especially since they only offer two size options. The meat itself was juicy and not dried out, which was a plus, but the cheese was pretty minimal--probably just about two slices total. I honestly wish they'd double or even triple the cheese to balance it out better. We also got a kids' chicken tender meal with fries and a drink, which was pretty standard and as expected.

The cheesesteak was packed with tender beef, grilled onions, mushrooms, crispy bacon (add on), and a ridiculous amount of melted cheese. The bread held everything together perfectly without getting soggy which matters more than people think with cheesesteaks. The cheese fries were also amazing. Crispy fries with plenty of cheese instead of just a light drizzle on top. Portions were solid and everything came out fresh and hot. Seems like it's a family ran restaurant and the service was top notch. Super friendly people here. I also loved the old sports memorabilia so the vibes were perfect for a spot like this. Based on…read morethe positive reviews, maybe it was an off night--but the owner's behavior toward customers was completely unacceptable. I waited in a long line to order (no issue there) and was quoted a 20-minute wait. There was no buzzer system, so we had to keep checking back. Since we had our kids with us, my husband and I took turns monitoring the order. Around the 30-minute mark, the person who had been behind me in line received their food. I checked on our order to make sure we hadn't missed it while switching off, and was met with a rude, condescending response--being pointed toward a row of order tickets with no real help. At the 50-minute mark, I asked someone who had just gotten their food how long they waited--they said about 25 minutes. At that point, I checked again, worried our order had been missed. The owner responded in a combative and dismissive way. When I pointed out the discrepancy in wait times, he insisted the other customer must have ordered first--even after I clarified that wasn't the case. It was incredibly frustrating and dismissive. We ended up waiting over an hour. The food itself was fine (though a bit heavy on onions and peppers compared to the meat), but the real issue was how customers were treated. At one point, while my husband was waiting, the owner was arguing with another customer to the extent that security had to step in. Overall, extremely disappointing experience due to poor and disrespectful customer service.
