Served with a mini vamilla glazed cake donut life preserver. The presentation was so beautiful. Marshmallow cream was so unique, totally different from ordinary whipped cream. This was very creative! When you walk into The Pie Hole, it feels like a diner. They've got stool seating by the window and a few tables for eating in. The pie and other baked goods options are on display for you to choose from and to order at the counter. For a serve-yourself kind of restaurant, the pies are not cheap! A 5" pie is $14 and will leave you still wanting more. The pie crust is nice and crunchy and buttery but the filling of the steak pie we got was quite dry. We also got a chicken pot pie Hand Pie for $7.50 for the kids which we thought tasted better (still a nice crust though not as thick as the 5" pie version and the filling was good) and would get this one again. read more

Just the smell of the shop alone is incredible. What's good?! Everything! It's an amazing place to treat yourself or great options to take to a party. Apple pie cookie: seriously never had a better cookie with chunks of pie and well cooked down apples. Not too much but just enough apples. S'mores cookie: really good, just wish it had more marshmallows than 2 big ones on top. Like a glorified chocolate chip cookie with graham cracker and marshmallows on top. Vietnamese coffee cream pie: insane! So good, so creamy. Definitely recommend if you like coffee flavored anything. I parked right outside the shop without realizing it. I could not find parking near another establishment where I was headed to due to the messy construction in the area, and found a spot here. When I returned to the car, I saw The Pie Hole and knew I just had to get a slice of pie or more. The place looked very welcoming and had a spacious area for people to dine in. Nice! The best part was the key lime pie was available. That has been my favorite pie from here and is always unavailable at the Burnaby outlet. The key lime pie is tart and has the right amount of sweetness to balance it out. This is a must try pie! I also tried the maple bacon French toast crumble which was a new item. It was sweet and a bit salty with the bacon. It was ok, not something I would order again. I find there are more varieties of pies available here and I even saw the mixed mini pies in the box. First off, I'm not a big dessert or pie person but all the pies I've had from the Pie Hole have been AMAZING! I'm sad their Fraser Street location closed as East Vancouver could really use a good pie shop. Now I only go to the Pie Hole when working from the Office in Downtown and/or for a special occasion. I've been craving pie from the Pie Hole so during a girl's shopping trip, I made sure to swing by and bought myself a 5" Blueberry goat cheese basil pie. I also got myself a mini butter pecan tart too. Following The Pie Hole on IG, I was able to get 10% off my order. I have been following the Pie Hole since they opened their pop up shop in Chinatown. I still remember the delicious rhubarb pie I had many years ago. This afternoon I was on 4th and my friend suggested getting some pie to take home. Upon entering, the most wonderful smell - like you walked into grandma's house. Like a child in a candy store, I was checking out the variety of sweet and savoury pies but only permitted one. After a few minutes of gawking, I selected a slice of lemon meringue. Was not busy when I was there today and the staff were helpful. You can purchase pies by the slice, 5" or 9" whole. The slice was big and could feed 2 people for dessert. The pie held via a car ride home and in the refrigerator for a few hours. At one moment, I accidentally flipped the take out box upside down and I thought I wrecked the lemon meringue pie. To my amazement, the pie held and the meringue remained stiff but tasted light and fluffy. The lemon curd had a good balance of sweetness and tartness. Paid parking right out front. My cousin ordered 2 of the 5 inch pies yesterday to bring to our get-together and it was so delicious! I've been wanting to try their pies for a while and finally got the chance now. She got the Halloween Mummy Apple Pie and the Halloween Skull Pumpkin Pie and 1L Vanilla Ice cream. The pies were perfect to share between the 3 of us, we found that the pumpkin had a better flakey buttery crust while the apple pie had a better filling, and it was my favourite out of the two. Their ice cream is made at Birchwood Dairy Farm in Abbotsford and the Vanilla ice cream had this nice sweetness that paired perfectly with the pie, I don't think it tastes like the usual Vanilla ice cream that you'd get at the store but it was pretty good. I love a good pie and was very excited to try their holiday specials and they did not disappoint! I went and tried their Spinach Feta Hand Pie and a slice of Eggnog & Rum Pie, plus a decaf Americano. Both of the pies were fantastic! The spinach feta had lots of filling and a soft, flaky (but not crumbly) crust. I liked the dusting of dill on top. Kudos to the staff member for warming it thoroughly without making it scalding to eat. The eggnog was dreamy - the custard filling and whipped cream topping both had a rich texture and flavour, and complimented each other perfectly. The crust was interesting, it almost seemed like it was in between a crumb crust and pastry crust, and I loved the spices in it. It did fall apart a little when the person who was working sliced the pie, but this did not impact my enjoyment in the least. Both pies were a pretty generous portion, especially the slice of eggnog, which I could have split and still been satisfied with. The americano was not great. It was a little bitter and there were some grounds that made it into the cup. It was fine for washing down my meal with, but I'd avoid it in the future. Only deducting 1 star for this even though I'd give the drink alone 2 stars because their real business is in the pie. I don't remember how much each item cost individually, but my total was about $20. There was only one person working the front of the shop when I visited since they weren't super busy (about 1pm Monday). She was really nice and seemed knowledgeable answering questions that other customers had about their pies and ordering. read more

The hand pie with feta and spinach was literally one of the best things I've ever eaten. It was buttery flakey and cheesy. I wish I would've gotten more before I went back to California. I've tried a few of their pies now. They have lots of vegan versions available, so for an occasional treat, we pull one out of the freezer and cook it for a snack or meal. Scarfing down my Chicken Pot Pie yesterday was... as easy as pie. So much so that I forgot to take a picture of the inside after my first bite! While I was sad to learn that there were no more 5" or 9" fresh chicken pot pies, I was lucky enough to be able to buy the remaining hand pie versions ($7.50 each). After a quick 10-minute bake, these pies were ready to be devoured. First of all, the aroma will hit you before you even sink your teeth into these flavour bombs. At that point, there will be no turning back. Next, you'll bite down into the flaky and buttery crust - The Pie Hole's signature Double Butter Crust. Once you hit the creamy chicken filling, you'll be lost in a world of your own - tender cubed chicken, fresh vegetables (carrots, celery, onions) and herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage), all coated in a silky cream sauce. If I had to pick the star ingredient, it'd be a tough battle between the butter in the crust and the herbs in the sauce. Texture-wise and flavour-wise, everything was simply perfect. On top of that, the service I received was second to none. I was warmly greeted from afar when I first walked in. Everyone was wearing a mask and there was a plexiglass in place for orders. The staff member at the till was also particularly sweet and accommodating. Honestly, when my sister first suggested having pie instead of cake for her birthday, I thought it was a bit of an odd choice. I'm no cake person, but I may be even less of a pie person. All that has changed with The Pie Hole. Even hours after eating my pie, I was still singing its praises. The Pie Hole, I will be back for more. It is really mild so do not worry about it being too spicy 2) Butter Tarts - love this! It is a classic and it is not too sweet and the flavour is beautifully crafted. 3) Vegan Chocolate Hazelnut - the most popular option for vegan pie seeker. There is hazelnut and coconut I have to say, they have amazing customer service. The girls are lovely and is ready to answer any questions pertaining to ingredients and flavours. I heard about this restaurant after it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. As I was looking for something to eat around the area, I noticed the name was the same, but I was not sure if it was the right one. I asked the person who was working and to see if the owner was the one who owns the pie hole. Sure enough, it was the right place. I ordered their bacon double cheeseburger pie and the worker baked it in the oven for 5 minutes so it can get crispy and flaky before I ate it. The pie was very flakier than most pies I have ever ate before. It was literally flaking off as i began to slice it with a fork. Eating the filling reminds me exactly of a cheeseburger. Like it is straight-up cheeseburger in a pie. It was a very solid pie, the place was very clean and I definitely would come back trying the other pies if I come around this neighbourhood. read more

They have a gorgeous, buttery, flaky, perfect assortment of full-size pies, individual pies and hand pies, as well as some tarts and cookies. I recently started working in the neighborhood and occasionally stop in to pick up a savory hand pie for my lunch. Faves are Steak & Guinness and the Chicken pot pie. Perfect if you need a small lunch (or big snack!) Their banana cream pie is pure heaven and the spiced pear "pop tart" is divine. They serve made-to-order espresso drinks, however I haven't ordered those yet. Might need to stop in again soon for a slice and a London Fog; weary COVID times call for cozy treats. The staff are also friendly and warm, and implement the COVID protocol with grace and ease. Hand sanitizer is available at to door and the shop had plexi dividers where necessary. Not a big fan of their pie crust at all. I wanted to like it but it's tough when your gold standard is Fife's apple pie.

Although the apple pie appeared interesting, I was let down. The bottom crust was a soggy, wet mess. The upper pastry lattice was dense and lacked flavour.
