We had a wonderful dinner on their patio last night! Our server, Ireland, was helpful and knowledgeable- and helped steer our choices when we asked questions. It was a birthday dinner, and there was a card on the table for me. Our whiskey sours were great and very reasonable for $8 each. The escargots were delicious and the extra half baguette came in handy. My Peking Duck was great, the skin was crazy crispy, even with the lovely orange sauce. My husband had Beef Wellington for.the first time, and asked why he hadn't had it before it was so delicious. The chocolate mousse and berry crepe were wonderful. Not cheap, but if you enjoy fine dining - so worth it. A great evening! We are going back. read more

My avocado toast was a bit on the bland side. It came with one small egg on top. There should have definitely been two. My husband had the Eggs Arnold. He absolutely loved it and commented that it was one of the best breakfast combos he had. I made my reservation through Open Table. The restaurant noticed that it was my birthday and gave me a card. I come here annually to watch the Kentucky Derby in the bar area, dine, & enjoy great mint juleps. This year there were four of us and the service was a bit disjointed as they were quite busy. The mint juleps and our dishes (lobster bisque, seafood au gratin, another fish dish & the ahi tuna were excellent. They delivered the ahi after everyone else had eaten. Christmas time in St Augustine and oh what a crowd! That is why we chose Raintree. It was very easy to make reservations. The ability to park on-site with my family was huge. We stopped my last Sunday for Father's Day brunch. We took the drive down to St.Augustine and I was pleased they have their own parking lot. We were promptly seated and our waitress was prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the brunch offerings which were pretty hearty and tasty. Great evening to sit outside! Emma, our server, was helpful and energetic. We were 7. Service was timely and dishes were well portioned and flavorful! The reason for a 3-raccoon visited us mid meal from the fence above our table. None of the staff seemed concerned. What a terrible place. Came here for brunch, didn't make a reservation. This place is proud to be serving people for 40 years but it looks like no updates were made for the last 40 years. Most people dining were extremely old as well, definitely not a place for a young crowd. Service was terrible, very rude and condescending. There were people dining next to us who asked about the menu, and our server told them "the menu is self explanatory" . I ordered hot tea and server brought me black tea. He never asked me which type I wanted. When I said "I don't drink black tea" he said they also have green. Would be nice to ask which tea person wants. Food was pretty bad. Waffles were probably the worst we ever tried. Not sure how can you ruin waffles. Avocado toast was super simple, definitely overpriced. Food was phenomenal! My husband had a pasta with lobster and shrimp along with a ceasar salad. Don't recall what it was called. I had a brandy butter pepper steak. Oh my!!!So delicious. Coated in pepper and the sauce was amazing. Salads were excellent. Mine had a house made ranch that was no ordinary ranch. My family had a wonderful time tonight at The Raintree celebrating my mom's birthday. Our waiter, Kit, was probably the best server we have ever had at a restaurant. My whole family was cracking up and we'd go to the restaurant even if the food was bad just for him. On top of that, everyone at the table raved about their soup, salad, and entrees. If we didn't have ice cream and cake waiting at home we would have definitely ordered the bread pudding. We will be back again very soon. read more

This place is fabulous! The groom's family of the wedding I was part of had a rehearsal dinner here and it was lovely. We had the room on the second floor of the restaurant all to ourselves. Several banquet style tables were set up and the room was done up beautifully. There were several staff that were assigned to our room and they were pretty attentive. We had wine/beer that was available to us and we pre-picked our main course when replying back to the invitation for the rehearsal dinner. I chose the steak and it was incredible. We did start with a salad that was quite refreshing and light and it paired well with the steak. The place itself is classic American and just has a really nice aesthetic all around. I would definitely come back here on my next trip for a nice dinner and try their menu à la carte. read more

A round of applause to the incredible team at Raintree for serving up the most spectacular Thanksgiving feast. This was the first year I did not cook and after tasting what they created I am seriously considering retiring my oven for good. The turkey was a dream come true. You even get to choose between white or dark meat and both are seasoned so perfectly and so wonderfully moist that I may never attempt roasting one again. The stuffing and the mashed sweet potatoes were so heavenly I could have written sonnets about them right there at the table. Our waiter was an absolute gem and the service made us feel like very important people indeed. We had a 4 PM reservation and were seated quickly which gave us just enough time to admire the beautiful setting before diving into our feast. Oh and the drinks from the bar were delicious. I might have even toasted to my newfound freedom from holiday cooking. So if you ever find yourself in Saint Augustine for Thanksgiving do yourself a favor and head straight to Raintree. We went up to St Augustine during the Christmas Holidays with our 2 pet golden retrievers. We found this gem near our hotel while walking towards the historic old town to see the Christmas Lights. We ate outside. The ambience from the outdoor lighting, the excellent service and good food made this a top spot for me in St.Augustine. We started with escargot and salads. Both were delish. I had the pork schnitzel and my wife had the catch of the day, I can't remember exactly what fish she had, but by the time that I tried to get a taste, she had finished her dinner. We skipped desert, but had one of their after dinner drink / shakes. Baileys, Frangelico and vanilla ice cream. Awesome way to end the nights meal. The wait staff was phenomenal. I truly mean it. You find good waiters and bad waiters from place to place, but our waiter at the Raintree was phenomenal. Never left us unattended or without a drink in hand. Made the experience great. read more

The restaurant is a nice place to stop for dinner. The wait staff are friendly and the atmosphere is similar. The food my wife and I had was not what expected. We had the fried shrimp appetizer and it was very bland, tasteless if you will. The waiter boasted about the corn meal coating, ok. My wife had lamb chops and she really enjoyed them, many times when she ordered them from other restaurants she often mentioned she would like more, however the portion here was very satisfying for her. I had the prime rib, very bland. I look forward to a nice seared outside of the rib with an abundance of seasoning, but not with this plate. I was not pleased with the lack of flavor but that's me. Have been here once before for Sunday Brunch, which by the way was great. Came this time for dinner. I ordered individual bottle of prosecco for myself and my husband ordered the Victoria's bourbon old fashioned. My husband said his cocktail tasted like a regular old fashioned. Which is fine but not what he ordered. Started with the steamed mussels and an order of escargot. The mussels were not hot and the escargot were the worse I've ever had. For entrees we had the the two specials which was a Coconut encrusted fish with rice and veg as sides. The fish was edible the rice tasted like th3 stuff you buy in the clear container in the supermarket. The other was beef with a cajun Bearnaise , potatoes and lack luster vegetables. Such a wonderful little restaurant! We arrived for an early dinner and were greeted by our server. The restaurant is very quaint and smaller. The food was of a smaller portion but was delicious! I got the salmon and it was so fresh and flavorful. I guess this is a super popular place because we only got an early reservation which was not a problem because we eat early anyway. I would definitely return and love to try something else! The cocktails looked yum! I did take two stars off because I watched, the employees putting the strawberries and the mint on the crème brûlée without any gloves. That turned me off, and I was hoping that they would wear gloves while doing it, especially being out in the open. On my way out, I saw that it had gotten very busy in spite of it being a Tuesday evening. I had the grilled swordfish which was served with some rice and green beans. I asked our server Jennifer about the schnitzel, and she said it was fabulous. She has worked there four years. The schnitzel was anything but fabulous. It was tough as show leather. You had to work the steak knife through it like a chainsaw to cut it. The flavor wasn't there either. Very little flavor. I ate four bites and meanwhile Jennifer services our table and sees I'm not eating it. She doesn't inquire. We get to the end of the meal where everyone is finished, and she asked if she could take our plates. As she took mine I told her the schnitzel was super tough. She says oh okay and never offered anything else. Wait, at least go tell the chef. If you really cared, go tell the manager. Well with nothing being said or actions taken that told me she didn't give a rip. So here's my review from someone who lives in St Augustine. I won't be back! So if your teeth and hands need a workout, make sure you order the schnitzel. read more

The building is over 100 years old but tastefully remodeled. We had a corner table for 4, possibly due to open table reservations (choice of indoors or out). Lots of windows. We tried a few mixed drinks to start, ranging from basic to inventive. My Hunters Manhattan was excellent. We followed that with wine and beer from a decent selection. Three ordered the lasagne with meatball and sausage. The house made sausage is outstanding. I ordered the cappellini pomodoro and added shrimp - 5 jumbos. I loved it. The ladies ordered dessert.
