We tried a few mixed drinks to start, ranging from basic to inventive. My Hunters Manhattan was excellent. We followed that with wine and beer from a decent selection. Three ordered the lasagne with meatball and sausage. The house made sausage is outstanding. I ordered the cappellini pomodoro and added shrimp - 5 jumbos. I loved it. The ladies ordered dessert. We had passed by this restaurant dozens of times on our way to downtown St. Augustine but had never eaten there until tonight. I am so glad we did because it was a lovely experience. The ambiance is great because they have so many outdoor tables, and even two gazebos. We were lucky enough to get one of the gazebos and it was a very romantic experience. The menu offers about ten appetizers, six salads, six pasta dishes, ten entrees, as well as steaks and chops. We started with the charcuterie board. It had two slices of three different meats, a hunk of cheese, bread and jam, olives and grapes. For my entree I had the Veal San Marco. It came with two pieces of delicious veal, three shrimp, and mushrooms in a sherry butter sauce. It was also accompanied by mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Every entree also comes with a small side salad. My husband had the flounder with lemon butter garlic sauce. His dish came with mixed vegetables and rice. He said the fish tasted great. By far the worst breakfast I have ever had at a restaurant before. Not a single person at our table of 7 had a positive experience. The french toast came with a heap of expired sour cream, the waffles were basic microwaved frozen waffles, and on top of the horrible food, all the silverware and plates were worn down and dirty. Wow!! This place really impressed us! We went for brunch and it was absolutely fabulous! All of our meals were so tasty!! The restaurant is built in an old house with so much character. The stained glass artwork and adorable sitting area made the experience even better. Our server was very friendly and charismatic, and service was quick! The service was really good and the ambiance is great. The food is good, not exceptional. But the owners include a credit card fee in the 15 % gratuity they automatically add to the bill. I don't mind them adding a credit card surcharge, or adding a gratuity, but by sneaking the credit card surcharge into the gratuity they're just taking money away from the staff, which I think is really sneaky and slimey. Stopped Saturday since I was in St. Augustine for other reasons. It's been 3 years since my last visit and I was really wanting/craving some great escargot. I have always set at a table outside before, but today was hot and it was just me and a good book, so I sat at a corner table in the bar area. I was served by John T who was welcoming, provided outstanding service, and was dated by my only wanting escargot, a caesar salad and iced tea. He made sure my tea was refilled, checked to see that everything was ok and left me to enjoy my meal and my book, all of which I did!!!! I won't wait as long to return. Spectacular service from Kit the waiter which included a personal birthday serenade. It was over the top but made for a special memory none the less. Everything was perfectly paced and the food was very yummy. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the whole experience was delightful. My favorite part has to be the pricing on the menu. As every other restaurant has inflated their prices to the max of viability, the Raintree has not. My boyfriend made reservations and took us here for my birthday and I was pleasantly surprised. We had late reservations because we had an appointment at Ink & Barley before and were not sure how long it would take. But it was earlier than we thought and we walked over to Raintree to see if they could seat us early. Our reservation was for 8pm on a Saturday but the host was super accommodating and sat us right away upstairs! We ordered all the food! Bang bang shrimp, I had the lasagna with meatball and sausage, my boyfriend had the chicken zíngara and for dessert we had the bread pudding and cappuccino ice cream crepe. Omg it was all so delicious! Now the reviews were also not wrong. The presentation kind of makes the food appear oily or not so fresh. But it was delicious! I think they could improve on the presentation. If you're in the area, this is a great option for a delicious meal. Overall the food was good but the service was slow. Our drinks, Moscow Mules, were perfect. As an appetizer we ordered the mussels which were good after they soaked on their broth. The included salads were ok. They consisted of mixed greens with some raisins sprinkled in and 3 tiny pretzels on the side. We then waited almost an hour for our entrees with no drink or water refills. The lobster and shrimp pasta was delicious. I wished I had gotten a tiny plate for the shells. The establishment is incredibly charming and their outdoor seating is lovely. We had a party of four on Saturday evening and we were all pleased with our meals. The service was acceptable, not amazing but efficient. And the food came out fast! Here is a note of interest, they added 15% gratuity automatically without asking. I find that a little funny. We typically tip between 20-25% unless the service is stellar or lacking. So the fact that they dump 15% on you no matter what may disincentivize their servers. Although I am sure the reason they do it is because of all the cheapskates in the world - that is just bad behavior. All entrees include a simple salad and typically when a place does this the salad is really a let down. Refreshingly, the salad they offer while simple was quite good! Our party had two prime rib meals and the portions were very fair! The meat was not the most tender prime rib, but it was very acceptable and the flavor was excellent. There were also two pasta dishes, my wife's lobster pasta was outstanding! Great flavor and the lobster was some of the most flavorful we have ever had. My sister-in-law LOVED the house made sausage! She raved about the sausage and simply could not get enough! Overall we were so happy with our experience that we are thinking of going back instead of trying some of the other restaurants while we are in town this week! Was a guest at a group dinner last night at the Raintree. Service was was first rate from the moment we walked in the door. The menu is excellent with lots of choices that looked appealing, I chose the eggplant dinner which turned out to be just ok, but everyone else loved what they ordered. It came with a salad with housemade peppercorn parmigiana dressing and that was excellent, as was the Crème Brûlée I had for dessert. Located just outside of the busy downtown (still an easy walk) you'll find the Raintree! There is a large (free) parking lot located in the back. The space is an old house, they have made use of all areas so the walkways can be a little tight. The service is quick and they have many options for wine, beer and cocktails. I had made a reservation to celebrate my mom's birthday and even though we were early, we were seated immediately and given a birthday card! My mom ordered the Filet Mignon and it came with a side salad ($2 upcharge for Caesar) mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. She loved it! I ordered a burger, medium rare. Our waiter was excellent and loved how he explained the specials and answered our questions I had the beef Wellington while not the best I ever had but it was good. My friend had the rack of lamb that was excellent and properly cooked. We both had a cup of soup rather than the salad which was an allowed $5 substitution though our check was wrong on that but was quickly corrected.
