Came for a midweek breakfast gathering with old friends. Arrived at 9 and they immediately sat us at a table for five. The service was great. I enjoyed the Reyn special -- 2 eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and banana bread. Way more than I could finish. The banana bread is really good. This place is a little hidden gem in Pasadena. I've been coming here for years and I will keep coming back. This place has a straight up old school diner vibe. The waitress's are super sweet and totally efficient. The food is as great as the wait staff. They have this most amazing tasting banana bread that is to die for. It's a huge piece of banana bread that's moist and warm and super yummy with some butter on it. You can get a piece of it with almost any entree or you can get it a la carte. Definitely gave off hole in the wall diner vibes with numerous tin and wooden signs adorning the walls of this very small establishment. We tried the pork chops and eggs, which were surprisingly moist even though they appeared deep fried. French toast was typical but the bannana bread was fantastic. First time here-a bit disappointing. They have great options for different combinations of plates, I got exactly what I wanted very easily. BUT they use spray "butter" this makes me sad because it completely overpowers all other flavor and makes everything taste like movie theater butter. That's probably a personal preference but it makes a really big difference to me. I will not be returning because of that point alone. I do love the classic American diner feel, we were sat fairly quickly with the wait which is nice in theory but it also means they're getting people in and out as quickly as possible. We were never checked on to ask how we were doing, when our server glanced at our table she looked at our plates, not at me. I ordered a strawberry lemonade but never received it, and never had the chance to ask for it before she brought the bill. You go up to a register to pay, I asked them to take the lemonade off because I never received it, easy. But then the tip options were 18%, 20% and 22%. I've worked in the restaurant industry my entire life. I believe everyone working there deserves to be paid well as they're absolutely working hard but tipping is for great service and personable connection, unfortunately this place lacks that touch. read more

I was given the choice of toast or homemade banana bread. No brainer. The piece I got was thick with crispy sides and a very moist and tender crumb. My omelette was good and hash browns perfectly crisp on the outside. Things to know: - I went in through the back from the parking lot - parking in the back was limited because they were busy - put your name on the list and be patient til you're called - food is plentiful and can be shared - loaf of banana bread is available for purchase - limited counter seating - some outdoor seating but just a few tables - take out is popular, counter had stacks of orders waiting to be picked up (I don't know if any of those orders were for Doordash and the like though) - very welcoming, friendly, and attentive staff Best thing is, this place has reasonably priced offerings. First of all, I loved the fact that I was able to place myself in the waiting using the Yelp app. We timed out arrival just right. We got called and started immediately after arriving and checking in with the host. I think the app saved us a good 15+ minutes wait time. As we were driving over, I already knew what I was getting... The pictures and reviews of the French Toast looked good enough to be my pick. We got different variations of French Toasts. The strawberry and whipped cream version was much more appealing to the eyes, but I stuck with the plain old dusted powdered sugar... And it was excellent. The coffees were served immediately, which was great. It was good coffee although it wasn't a dark roast which I prefer, but it had just enough flavor to satisfy me. The food was served quickly and although they weren't the best French Toast I've had, they were good. The service was on the spot! The server checked back to make sure we had everything we needed, and refilled out coffee before running out it getting cold. The exterior and the atmosphere of the restaurant made me think, "a nice mom and pop shop" but when I was able to focus closer, the restaurant was running extremely efficient with great management and high tech operational systems. Shits gone way down hill. Pre pandemic this was my weekly spot. The old white lady server knew my whole family. The food was fantastic. Showed up and put our name on the list for an outdoor table for 5. It was a nice day so let's do breakfast outside, there was no wait we were the first on the list. Old white lady server showed up looked at the list and told us to wait even though there was an empty table sitting there. Ok fine, maybe she had to wash it down we can wait a few. Then as she is gone another group showed up and just sat down at the table. I told them there was a list, then the old white lady came out and when I talked to her she said "don't worry I'll just sit you inside". When I said that's not what we asked for she pretended not to hear me and just walked away. We sit down and I ask for the manager and our table became a ghost town for 5 min until I physically got up and asked for help. Then I was told the manager was not there today. Long story short kids were very hungry and so we just ate here. What made this stop even more funny was that I had a guy from another table with his family ask if she's "like that with everyone"... and all I could say was "I guess so now, but she used to be nice." Food is now just OK, but if you tack on the poor service experience it's not really worth coming here. read more
