We came here on a very hot Saturday and were fortunately seated right away. The host told us we had luckily missed the majority of the morning rush. The place was PACKED, so that was a great sign. We sat at the counter and had the view to see these incredible people at work. Each and every human working was kind, attentive, and they were MOVING. Kudos to the entire team for being rockstars! I've been here a couple of times for breakfast and i always enjoy it. I love "American breakfast." Me and my daughter came this past Saturday and we were seated fast, tended to for drinks then food. My server, i did not catch her name, she helped me out with switching around my plate to not make it costly which is appreciated. It's always nice when someone looks out for you. We stood outside for several minutes waiting to see if anyone would follow up. No one did, so we left. This wasn't about the policy--it was about the attitude. The way we were treated felt dismissive and uncomfortable, and frankly racially charged. After leaving, we read multiple recent Yelp reviews describing similar behavior under the new management, particularly toward Black customers. So, with a bit of searching, I found The Reyn. Loved the endorsements in Yelp. Called ahead and was told it was about a 20 minute wait. Sold. Instantly, I felt a happy vibe. Busy, yes, but everyone seemed to be a good a place. Loved the simple, cozy interior with small, comfy booths. Got my good diner coffee then went with the Farmer's Breakfast. A couple eggs over easy (or any style), two sausage links, two bacon, choice of potatoes (or fruit) AND a couple buttermilk pancakes. I was hungry but still brought some to-go. Food came quickly. Everything was cooked right, even the bacon which I requested to be medium. Maria was my main person, and she was great. She helped guide me, suggesting the hash browns when I wasn't sure what box to check. A good call. It's a group effort, though, to be sure at The Reyn. A handful of other staff members pitched in for everyone. The banana bread at checkout looks fantastic, and it's reasonably priced. Next time, for sure. May be the egg increase is 50% recently meaning they were paying 25-30 cents an egg before this. They are gouging and taking advantage. I don't like it. Messed up. The atmosphere is of an old-fashioned funky dinner with license plates on the wall and crazy posters. Breakfast is the thing here. Best French Toast. And the once over eggs were large, warm and fresh. You can tell. My boyfriend loved their banana bread, a house speciality. The potatoes had great seasoning and just enough bite to them but not raw. I have been coming here since I was very young. I've seen the change in management 3 times. I was happy to know all of management as they took over. Isreal took the business over serval years ago and uses to be nice. Now from reading other reviews, that has now changed and I experience it. He was rude. Although I can waste ur time to tell u my story, I won't. I will not be coming back here due to rude management behavior and I hope that one day I can meet the next owners. It wasn't that long but he checked the cameras so when I finish my meal after having it replaced, I had a conversation with Pablo and he listen to me, Tell him about my experience when he had already gone on the camera to see just how long I let that food sit at the table reading. Pablo let me finish my whole situation, blah blah blah, and then he's so politely and patiently displaying such tolerance and professionalism that I am writing this yelp review because of the way that this man conducted himself the whole entire time I attempted to be a whole Butthead about why my food was cold. I've been here a few times and really enjoyed the food here. The wait is never too bad and service is pretty attentive. They have a pretty spacious parking lot in the back so that's convenient. We love getting the Farmer's special since it comes with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and pancakes. We also always order one of their scrambles which we then get with tater tots and their homemade banana bread. The banana bread is sooooo good and you can tell it's freshly made. And the tater tots are always crispy and delicious. Would love if they had real maple syrup for the pancakes but can't complain.
