We took my father in law here for the early bird special and I must say it was amazing for the price. $25 per person 4 course meal. The food was fresh and delicious even the bread was warm and soft to eat. I was a bit skeptical about the quality of food for such a low price but it blew me away how filling the portions were. The service was amazing! Jill was attentive and sweet, and just very welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and had a rustic feel to it which I enjoyed. This place is an absolute joke! Hostess told us to find a seat at the bar but didn't bother to go check if there were 2 seats available at the bar. There were 1 or 2 spots but they were at opposite ends of the bar of each other. So therefore my wife and I just stood there confused wondering where we were expected to sit. Luckily I knew the 1 waitress and she decided to help by asking a man at the end of the bar if he could move down so we could squeeze in. Once seated I said to my wife "where were we expected to sit down, the hostess made no effort to find us seats?" Well then a waiter getting drinks for his table decided to eavesdrop on our conversation started mouthing off to me when he overheard me and started defending said hostess. So then I said I'm having a private conversation that doesn't concern you so I'd appreciate it if you just keep your comments to yourself I'm talking to my wife. This guy goes and cries to the hostess about me and a few minutes later she comes out and hands us our bill for 2 beers and told us to get out because she's the stupid hostess who couldn't find us seats and her family owns the business so she told us to leave.... fuck this place! read more

The food here is delicious! We ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer which had great flavor. I ordered the strip steak for dinner and my husband had the Prime Rib and they came out still sizzling on the silver plates and were cooked perfectly. Definitely call for a reservation first. Even if sitting at the bar. Place was hoppin'. We wound up at the bar for dinner. We prefer that anyway! Food was excellent. Don't expect speed. It seems like this restaurant isn't "taking soup out of a frozen bag". They pride themselves on made to order. And it showed. Not to mention that the portions are HUGE. I now have a cooler full of veal. Our bartender Taylor was working her butt off. Cocktails were great and she was personable in light of a clearly heavy workload. A wonderful staff, very friendly. The early bird deals are great but you can get anything as well. The 18oz. Strip is great. The rack of lamb(9 chops!!!) Also great. The only reason this isn't a 5 is the salad wasn't up to par for a top restaurant. Iceburg only with a selection of peppers,onions,olives and cucumber to add. Also the crab stuffed mushrooms had very little crab. Couldn't taste any but the wife mentioned she expected more crab and the graciously took it off the bill. I thought the prices were fair. Will definitely go again and try some of the more Italian dishes. read more

Very cool old hotel decor. Didn't have reservations but they sat us quickly for a party of 6. We all had stuffed artichoke and calamari for apps. Both were fantastic. Dining room is cozy, not super luxurious, but charming location in the Hotel Belvidere right in downtown. It was super crowded on a Thursday night in February, which is a good indication. The calamari appetizer was crunchy and well cooked, the balsamic hot pepper side dish was awesome. I had the zips de Pesci was soooo delicious. The Italian sauce reminds me of my Sicilian grandmas sauce. The service was by far the very best. The waitress and waitress were so attentive to our needs. We travel up to Hemlock Farms to visit friends about 3 times a year. Each time we go we like to go to paves we've tried and like as well as follow recommendation. The Ridge was a recommendation and shot to the top of our favorite list to eat at. Not only did the food come our impecably prepared, it was served hot, at the right temperature but delicious. Let's go around the table. There were 2 zuppe de pesce, one order Salmon, Shrimp Scampi, 1 Pork Chop special and 3 Delmonico steaks. Everyone was extremely pleased with their meal (except the Scampi diner didnt LOVE the sauce). The restaurant remembered that we mentioned there was a birthday in our group and had a candle in her dessert. The Wait staff were attentive, friendly and as it turned out, from our neighborhood in NY. I can't wait to visit our friends again and enjoy dining at the Ridge in the Belvidere Hotel. read more

My husband and I joined a group of friends for a birthday celebration in February at the Ridge. It was a wonderful atmosphere - the food was absolutely delicious. We had some special birthday celebration food, sea food, steak, grilled asparagus. I loved the fried calamari, the salad, every dish was really good. Even my picky-eater husband complimented the food over and over. Probably the best steak I've ever had! We enjoyed wine, home made bread, and drinks. I loved how later in the evening, the owner's son gave us a wonderful 'oldies' concert. Singing Frank Sinatra and other great hits, the entire vibe was so relaxed and fun. We had a great experience at The Ridge! My husband and I were in town for one night, and someone who works at the local winery recommended The Ridge for dinner and I'm so glad he did! The restaurant was so charming (and the tables were spaced apart well for social distancing). The service and food was top notch. My husband ordered the Cowboy Ribeye special and said it was better then what he has gotten at steakhouses - he ate the whole thing! The Ridge was excellent. Our waitress was Marissa and she was very attentive and gave an excellent description of the specials on menu. The dishes are authentic Italian and Sicilian, made with the freshest ingredients, great attention to flavor and textures. I suggest trying the sangria because it was very good. Every person at this family run business is attentive and they go out of their way to make your dining experience enjoyable. We met the chef Dave and they welcomed us like we were family. Absolutely awful food, and expierience. i dont know how this place got so many good ratings. i ordered take out at 4pm and was told to pick it up at 6pm...ok...then the woman who took my order asked if i wanted to leave a gratuity, which i did like an idiot. Who asks for a gratuity before the food is even served?! I should have known better but i gave her one, big mistake. So i get there at 6 and wait another 20 min for the order, i ordered chicken francahise which was just chicken swimming in a butter and broth sauce with over cooked pasta...not even a hint of lemon in the whole dish, mozz sticks were soggy, bread was some weird yellow shit with sesame seeds on it that tasted like a bulkie roll and the broccolli rabe had like 2 whole heads of garlic in it and was also swimming in water and oil, the salad was litterally 9 pieces of lettuce and a few under ripe cherry tomatos with a very vinegary dressing, i had a couple bites of the chicken and tossed the whole order out. Did i forget to mention that i they didnt include utensils with the order? The icing on the cake was that i was staying at a hotel and they didnt have utensils so i ate this soupy meal with my friggin hands. This place is tourist trap for people who dont know what italian food should taste like. Do yourself a favor and dont look for good italian food in this town. read more

Dine-in and COVID-19 curbside review My family have had many meals at the Ridge, and always leave full and happy. The cocktails are great and the service is extremely personable and attentive. I've enjoyed all the food I've tried, including but not limited to the hot antipasto, Caesar salad, chicken parm, veal sorrentino, and the pasta dishes. During the pandemic, we've picked up multiple times and will continue doing so. The chicken parm with vodka sauce has been our new favorite. Can't wait to return in person! read more

We were in the Lake Wallenpaupack area for a couple days and reserved a table on a Wednesday night based on all the positive reviews. Our hotel front desk clerk was excited for us when she found out we had a reservation there.......We arrived early so had a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. Love the old style wooden bar. Bartender was very friendly and made a very good Manhattan. We were seated at a table in the bar area. The place was full - kind of surprising for a Wednesday night. We started with the garlic mushroom soup and a pear crostini. Both were outstanding. Our entrees were the Veal Marsala and Penne Broccoli Rabe & Sausage. Exceptional taste and Awesome portion size. Our server, Kearan, was friendly and extremely attentive. An overall outstanding meal and experience. Can't recommend enough. read more

Most recent was Jordon, who obviously takes Pride in what he does and appears to enjoy doing it.. Back to the Food;... Everything is a "flavorful" surprise.... hence... I'm a local and drive by the place 5 days a week I heard from a friend to go. My Bride is a fabulous Italian cook so I tend to stay out of Italian restaurants afraid I will be disappointed. We showed up for the early bird special on Sunday 3 course meal for $20 or 4 course meal $25 the difference is for the extra $5 it includes the choice of a appetizer. We decide to do the 4 course, from the appetizer to the desert the food was perfect I thought I was in little Italy in NYC! The service was excellent and the food was perfect. If you come before 5:30 midweek where they have their "early-bird" specials, it's the bargain of the year.
