This place is super rad. I had scoped it out for one thing & one thing only. MONTE CRISTO! I had been craving one, and they had them on their brunch menu. It was a beautiful Saturday late morning & we asked to sit on the back patio. They thought we were crazy for a minute - but it was BEAUTIFUL and the tables are spaced nicely outside. (Also have TV's outside) Our waitress Sarah was probably my favorite PERSON EVER. We laughed and joked and pretty much wanted her to just join us for brunch. She deserves a high-five although she did tell us she only had two more weeks left before moving! SAD! We will miss you on our next visit. The $3 mimosas are served in huge, chilled beer glasses. Totally worth the $3. We enjoyed 2 & were feeling pretty good after. They are strong! I ordered my MC (the whole point of this mission) and was perfectly satisfied with what came out! I lived across the street from this establishment for two weeks. Every time I went in I was greeted and helped out right away. Ordered food for there and to-go. Food came out quick and all the food I had was delicious. Had the Cuban Sandwich, cheese dip with chicken in it and The Grateful Shed burger. All of which were amazing! My favorite of the three was the burger, great flavor and texture. I believe it has a jam in it of some sort but it just added to the greatness. The cheese dip was great, ordered it twice hahaha Anyways... I would encourage you to try this spot out once, at least. They also have Daily Chef Specials and they always sounded good, from what I've tasted already I'm sure the Chef Specials would have been bomb as well. Located near the Boise State campus, The Shed is a solid option if you're looking for a burger or a good sandwich while getting together with friends to watch a sporting event on one of their many giant screen televisions. Seat yourself, ample street parking, open for lunch and dinner. Enjoyed a good burger, cooked well, but wish the bun held the burger towards the end. Loved the seasoned fries. Large beer selection on tap and in bottles. Really good service. My one regret was not ordering the Deep Fried Oreos for dessert, but I was pressed for time. As Ulmer suggests above-- eat dessert first and here is a must! My friend and fellow Yelper, Dani S, treated us to deep-fried Oreo's at the end of our meal, which is amazingly delicious! The cookie becomes soft and the cream filling explodes with flavor as opposed to just eating, or dunking, and oreo-- interesting concept. They have only two desserts, Crème Brulee, and deep-fried Oreos. On our visit, the Crème Brulee was not set yet, which worked well for us! This establishment is popular, especially the nightlife. Inside has multiple sports flags such as the Oakland A's, and the now Las Vegas Raiders. There are two outdoor areas-- both front and back porch, which accommodates about 7-8 tables. A full bar and an averagely sized menu. The food was very good! I ordered the shrimp avocado cocktail-- $9.50 The shrimp was ample, juicy, and served with a bed of lettuce with perfectly flavored cocktail sauce. The avocado was sparing. Nachos- $11.50 + $2.00 to add chicken-- a super large portion size meant to be shared by many. The flavors were spectacular and blended well together. The jalapenos were fresh and large in size. Onion, tomato, refried beans, guacamole, sour cream and a blend of ranch dressings. I tried one of my dining companions fries and they were super tasty-- she ordered a side of blueberry ketchup, which was extremely tasteful. The drinks-- to me, they were a little pricey at $10 a drink, and nothing too special. They do have a menu with lots of good sounding drinks, but just meh for me. My dining companion Chanda ordered a drink with fresh mint which looked beautiful. I recommend the Shed Painkiller, especially if you like Pineapple, which I do! I also ordered the spiced Paloma, which I wasn't a fan of. My recommendation-- GO TO THE SHED! Order dessert first, consume some drinks and enjoy your life, your friends, and yourself! Some yelp turned real life friends (Greg, Chanda, George) wanted to go to The Shed for lunch. I was curious about it. Especially after my Spirit Animal Miki wrote a hilariously entertaining review about her take on the place. I had to check it out for myself. I ordered the cucumber salad because I planned on getting the dessert and didn't want to spoil my appetite. The cucumbers were... lets face it, I didn't actually care about the salad. I was only interested in conversing with my new friends and dessert. Because life's too short. The dessert I selected was by default, because the creme brûlée hadn't set yet.The only available option was the Deep Fried Oreo Cookies. I'm not an Oreo cookie fan. I wouldn't turn one down, I wouldn't cross the street for one, and I don't recall ever buying them on purpose. Until Sunday. Sunday I found myself left with no choice but to order them, deep fried no less. It was the best deep fried anything I've ever had, my friends enjoyed them as well. They're pure unfiltered deep fried magic. I dream about them, I see them when I close my eyes, I can smell them if I concentrate, and my friend Greg mentioned that he can still taste them... They weren't crunchy, they were pillow soft and melty in the middle and the dunking sauce was a nice, although not necessary, option. I can confidently recommend the Deep Fried Oreos! I don't believe any other Boise area restaurants have them. Get 2 baskets because 5 cookies just isn't enough! Parking is a beach and if you don't want to risk getting towed, park at Ann Morrison Park and walk over. This is guiltless consumption of calories at its finest because there's exercise involved. We were visiting Boise for the weekend, and this was one of the first places we checked out. It is a super cool bar with tons of TVs for watching March Madness, which was great! We went in and found a table and were there for about 15-20 min without anyone saying hi, bringing us water, menus or anything. They were very busy and we were obviously seated kind of between sections, but we ended up leaving without ordering anything to drink or eat because the wait staff didn't even notice that we weren't getting helped. Lunch at the Shed is a good decision as we have determined. Located in a vibrant college community with tons of positive energy, the Shed offers a cool restaurant/bar location. After you hunt for a parking spot (limited parking fyi) and find the restaurant/bar (not a ton of signage) you will enter a great spot for very tasty food and plenty of beverage options to please your pallet. The environment is split with a bar section and a dining section with tons of TVs on all the walls. Upon entering the Shed for lunch we were greeted with a friendly welcome and an invitation to find any table that we wanted. We selected to seat in the dining area given the bar was completely filled during lunch. Our lunch started with a spicy bloody mary before we enjoyed a chicken sandwich (for her) and a cubano (for me). The bloody mary was a bit flat and lacked spice/flavor. The chicken sandwich was huge, messy, and supported with tater tots. Chicken breast was thick and moist which was great as many chicken sandwiches are dry and terrible. I ordered the cubano with fries. The sandwich was traditionally made which was great as many chefs add their twist that takes from the greatness of the traditional cubano. The pork used in the sandwich was not dry and had great flavor. We would recommend the Shed to anybody looking for great food, great atmosphere, great beverage options, and a great location. We were riding our bikes and lucky for us this was the first eatery we came to. The food was good and the service was fast and friendly! We had a shrimp and avocado cocktail and the double dipped chicken nuggets. Both items hit the spot. When we return to Boise we will be sure to return. Dropped two kids off for freshman year at BSU. Just wanted to have a cold tasty beer in a relaxed environment and re-group with missus. The indoor/outdoor caught my attention. The place didn't disappoint. Big party table with raucous family (lively but not obnoxious), a couple with a huge friendly dog and a bunch of tables with what I think was a mix of locals, students, parents. Great vibe. Unpretentious. No blaring tunes. Solid beer selection. What was most interesting was that the food was had some tastefully experimental flourishes. I had a wrap with avocado and blackened shrimp. Had plenty of seemingly fresh veggies. I wouldn't say it was groundbreaking. Just honest, robust, real food, done thoughtfully. Definetly not bar food. Pricing was reasonable. Ooh! It's the "tots place!" Come for the Tots, stay for the burgers - a perfectly cooked burger too. I usually dont pay any mind to places that ask me how I want my burger cooked, but I actually "wow'd" outloud. They really got it right! I picked a few toppings off, but that's totally my own preference. Oh, and HAVE the Bloody Beer... it was so good and perfect for the lunch. Saturday and Sunday they serve Brunch until 1pm, but they will gladly hand over the regular lunch menu - 'cause burgers, yo. I would bet this is a good Game Day joint as well. read more

This was my only dining disappointment during my Labor Day weekend trip to Boise. I ordered the nachos, my wife ordered a turkey club sandwich. My nachos were okay, nothing to write home about and they were $13. Wife's sandwich was gross; the turkey was poor quality and it was way overloaded with ingredients. It came with two eggs, which I appreciate that they wanted to add more value but it made the sandwich way too big and messy to eat. The bacon and avocado were fine though. To add to how uncomfortable our experience was, the music was played WAY too loud and was terrible 80's rock ballads. The service was good though, and the gentleman who helped us was super friendly. We love this location as it's right next to Ann Morrison Park, which makes it a great after-party spot for our kickball league. We always spend $400-$500 each Thursday but service is always slow, sometimes unkind, and once they even placed another tables $200 charge on our bill without our knowledge. Drinks are average but it's a great spot for large groups as we can often fit 10+ at each table. The patio is also super nice for the summer weather. All of the goes to say, if you're at Ann Morrison and want to drink, this is the place. If you're just looking for a place to burn money, you can get better food/drinks/service elsewhere for the same price. read more

I heard that the food was good and have been wanting to see The Shed ever since I found it. My sister and I came out to have dinner and drinks. The Shed was probably one of the worst choices. The service here could use some improvement. There was a small crowd at the bar watching baseball and a handful of people sitting everywhere else. We came in and seated ourselves. Nobody said hello and we did not see the waitress until 10 to 15 minutes after sitting down. She did make an effort and brought out water without asking us. She was somewhat friendly. She did not bring out straws when she was asked. She also sneered at my sister when she was paying the bill. The food is great. I got a burger and fries. I loved the drink. I got a nectarine mule. The information online needs to be updated. It lists a fuzzy leapard on there. When we asked about it the waitress was clueless, but it may have been a typo.
