Ordered food to go from there to pick up. Since we are in the middle of a pandemic, we wore masks and ordered ahead so that we didn't stay too long. Got there and noticed the bar was completely full with different parties seated right next to each other at the bar top. No masks or social distancing. The bartender (who helped us with our order) was wearing his mask around his neck, didn't wear gloves while handing ice and lemons and such, and did not wash his hands in the 20 mins we were there. The food was pretty good but if the staff at the front of the house doesn't have to wear anything to protect people, worried about what's happening in the kitchen... Mac and cheese is good but a little bland, pulled pork sandwich was pretty good, Caesar salad didn't come with dressing. read more

The fingers steaks were good and the fry sauce hit the spot. And don't judge me...but the hot chocolate is really good. The waiters are very nice and will tend to your needs. The only sight issue was the tots aren't that crispy and they could be crispier but overall, it is an amazing place. read more

Go. Just, go! Went the other day with the better half on the bikes to grab a few pints and some food. Started out with the wings, which were really good. The mango ones were decent, but the buffalo ones were much better. Meaty and tender and lots of sauce. We decided to hang out a little longer and split a dinner. We got the turkey meatloaf, and we are really happy we made that decision! Two good sized pieces on two pieces of bread with mashed potatoes between. It was too much for one person, honestly, but man, was it good! So glad we split it. Just great flavor and spices, and something we'll definitely get again. So...my first time here. I was looking forward to checking this place out, heard good things but was really let down. Bartender was overwhelmed & bartending a busy bar was hard for him, obviously, so we ended up at a table & then our server was a jerk; everyone around us was served their food & drinks before we got our drinks, even tho we ordered before they even sat down. I had a shit week, literally my dog died a few days ago- this was the first place I came a few days after for drinks & they treated us like crap. Is this a college bar thing or...? The Shed is not ashamed to be a sports bar. Big screen TVs are relentlessly crammed into every square inch of upper wall space in this BSU-area pub, and yes they are always showing sports. I went there with my wife, my younger son, and two family friends. It was actually happy hour and I drank my fill in anticipation of my birthday. When it came time to eat, my friends limited themselves to a basket of fries while my wife and I split general Tso's chicken wings and a Cuban sandwich. They were good, especially the sandwich, which had a excellent balance of all the components, all well executed and detectable (sometimes at home we get too aggressive with the mustard). The wings were meaty, well sauced, and just a little too crunchy for my taste-- perhaps they could have been pulled from the fryer a minute earlier. My son got "boneless wings" with the same sauce and they were dry-- a sign that they had either been under sauced, over broiled after saucing, or left to languish too long before getting served. I thought our server was spectacular, though, and he was attentive to us even when a couple mobs of overdressed hipster frat boys and girls descended upon the restaurant 90min into our stay. I did taste my wife's old fashioned and it was fine. It was $147 pre-tip for the 5 of us with lots of drinks making up most of the bill. My one criticism would be that they could try to have more diversity on the TVs. It was all football and alternating between 2 separate games. No hockey! Admittedly we did not ask to change the channel even when a game did come on at 5. I guess I could complain that it was loud but isn't that what you expect at a sports bar? I was just grateful that it wasn't overcrowded on a Saturday afternoon at 4. Would go again especially when it isn't too crowded. read more

Great service! They allow dogs on patio and they give them dog biscuits and ice water! We wanted tacos but the taco place did not have normal tacos on the menu so we ended up a couple doors down at the shed. We had a long day on the river and were hungry! They kept our water glasses full and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this place. read more

It's very rare finding a place where you could either get the same thing every time or going with something different every time, but The Shed will make you want to do both. The menu has the right amount of choices, is great for groups of all sizes, can be a meal that is fancy and cultural or just laid back in your PJs. TVs for entertainment or quiet enough for wholesome conversation. And open for many hours. It's darn good and you'd be a darn fool to not go. read more

The Shed is a very trendy eatery and bar not far from campus, the football stadium, and the greenbelt. I have been twice and have liked what I ordered from the menu both times. We usually come for a beer or two, so I can comment on the quality of their mixed drinks. A word of caution: It can be hard to find parking here since there is student housing across the street and the neighboring businesses like to reserve their spaces. read more

We love the Shed but sometimes have varied experiences. Tonight was amazing!!! Hot, fresh, inspired. The kale superfood salad was fantastic-I had the kitchen add some avocado. The burgers and the herbed chicken were also great for my co-diners. Headed off to the Morrison Center for a show and this was just the start we needed. Did we stop here for a late dinner, with our three year old?!? Yes. We did. And it was great. Even though it was late, we wanted something more than fast food. They were kind - the dining area was technically closing but they let us sit there anyway because of our son. The food was good - ESPECIALLY for a late night collage bar! This place looked like it had great potential. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. I wouldn't come here again. It is right outside of some college dorms by Ann Morrison Park. If you are lucky you can park in the 5 spots they have right outside of the restaurant. If not, good luck to you in finding a spot. For appetizers my friend and I got the BBQ quesadilla and I got the chicken satay. The satay wasn't flavored very well, but it was actual pieces of chicken. The dip that was with it had a really different taste. The quesadilla was HUGE!! But it didn't have much BBQ sauce in it. For dinner I had gotten the BLTE and garlic parm fries. The fries were SO salty. Was hard to eat them. The cranberry sauce that came with it was good. I also got a sprite, I never knew that you could get a bad tasting sprite. I think it was running out of flavor. The sandwich was pretty good also. My friend got the NY Dip. He said it was ok but really salty. All together I wouldn't come here again. Went here tonight while visiting Boise. It is the worst place I've been to on this week long trip. Should have been a sign that there was only one other table occupied during happy hour on a Friday evening. Our server wasn't very good. Kept getting order wrong on food and drinks and then trying to blame us for it. Then she gave us wrong happy hour pricing and wouldn't honor the prices she gave or the prices on the happy hour card at the table. She was very rude when we brought it up. I'm giving 1 Star because the nacho fries and chicken strips were good. Bbq chicken quesadilla and burger weren't very good. You know when you see a smart kid who could really go on to do extraordinary things, like identify the cure for cancer or successfully implement commercial space flight, but instead they become a meth dealer and end up in prison? That's what this place is. Let me explain. The location is awesome, located in a quaint BSU neighborhood. The parking is nonexistent (what architect or counselor needs 24/7 parking AND permits? Do small businesses support each other anymore?), but we found something on the street soon enough (luckily it was after 6 so we didn't risk getting towed, especially since it the entire ordeal lasted three hours). The place itself has a really cool atmosphere, and displayed the greatest thing I've ever seen - two taxidermy ducks doing the nasty. I hope I can find that on eBay because I really need it in my bathroom (which won't wreak of urine like The Shed's did). Maybe I'll buy it at auction when this place goes out of business for treating their customers like garbage. So, we get there. There's maybe 10 people in the dining area. I have 8 people with me. We sit down. We order drinks. We order food. Of the 8 dishes we ordered, 5 people received them. After two hours. No, I'm not exaggerating. Of the 15 drinks we ordered, 11 were received. Of the 6 checks we requested, 4 of them were delivered and 2 of them were "comped" (that's after the waitress took my boyfriend's credit card to pay a bill and returned an empty checkbook. No receipt. No credit card. No kidding.) Well, we *were* told items were comped, until everyone left except our two friends who were finally eating the meal they ordered three hours prior. To further test their patience, they were eventually slapped a check with the formerly-declared "comped" items. Seriously? To recap: It took 3 hours to get a portion of the food and drinks we ordered. We were told items would be comped for the terrible service. The comped items suddenly reappeared after all but two of our party left. Those two paid it because they have decency, unlike The Shed. Most people would blame the waitress, but that's not the case here. She was brand new, didn't even know the menu, and it was the NCAA championship game (tonight). Who schedules a new waitress on what ended up being an 60+ person dining room on a huge game night where the closest divisional team to Boise was playing in a championship for the FIRST TIME EVER? I'm guessing it was the blonde woman with the green cardigan and sideways pony tell sitting in the corner, being completely unhelpful and drinking while she watched this one new waitress struggling to do her job. I hope she was the manager and not the owner, because her behavior towards her employees and her customers was disgusting and, at least as a manager, she can get fired. Good luck to this place, and to the brunette waitress tonight in the trucker hat - good on you. I'm sorry you've been cursed with such inconsiderate employers and I hope you can find a quality establishment to work at in the future that actually values you as an employee and human being. read more
