Definitely one of my favorite places to spend time by myself or with family. As soon as you walk in, everyone is really welcoming and with great energy. The manager (Salvador) is always attentive to the service and always receives you with a big smile. Food never fails and is quick. If you ever want a quick bite and want great service, this is the spot. Service is quick! Order at the front, and the staff will come up with your order. Tip: Download the app near the front to unlock rewards. I was able to get an order of Stand Fries when doing so. Food: I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, consisting of grilled chicken, chips, house fire sauce, and ranch. Overall the sandwich was a 4/5 the chicken was a little dry, and the sandwich wasn't as saucy as I would've liked. We shared Chilli Fries with friends. They were 4/5 as well. While the fries were nice and thick, there wasn't enough chilli to in every bite. Lastly for dessert they have plenty of options like Cookies and brownies. I ordered the Cookie Butter Crunch which is definitely a 5/5! The Cookie butter Crunch features Biscoff like cookies giving the shake a nice crunch while being creamy at the same time. The burgers are very good. We had the ultimate egg burger $12.45, stand burger $9.35, short rib grilled cheese $13.50. My friends loved their burgers. Mine was quite good. It would have been better if my ultimate egg burger had regular burger ingredients like lettuce, tomatoes etc. I didn't know I had to order those. The fries were OK. We had to ask the cashier for ketchup and utensils as they are not on the drinks counter. There were so much food, I almost didn't finish my chili cheese fries $5.50. I dined in when The Stand first opened, and am only getting to the review now. I really liked the booth seating by the windows. The bar area, though a bit awkwardly placed in the center of the space, also seemed to be a sleek, modern place to hang out. The food here was tasty. I tried the Big Blue and the French Onion burgers. The Big Blue was a satisfying mixture of savory and sweet flavors. The French Onion was an overwhelming bomb of gruyere cheese and jus, delicious! The fries and chips were also good. The service here was friendly and quick, though we did have to go back and ask for various condiments and napkins. The parking wasn't too bad since the building was further away from the other dining locations in the plaza. A good place for burgers, the Stand is a good value for its location. 4.5 stars! read more

It you're looking for a really tasty burger, look not further than The Stand. This SoCal chain has only one location in NorCal, Santa Clara. My goto is the Big Blue, which has a perfectly balanced amount of Blue Cheese, bacon and veggies. Also the sweetness of the BBQ sauce works well with the saltiness of the patty and bacon. I've come here about 4 times now and I must say. Soooooooo much better than the old burger place that was there prior. Food is absolutely good and very innovative. I mean come on, French onion soup burger?!?!? Who got that?! The decor is close to the old place but the staff seems a lot better and more helpful. I keep coming back just for the food and the drinks. When it comes down to drinks the beer they have is similar to the last place beyond 3 that the stand choose and call their own but it's actually different brewery beers. Not hating at all because they're actually good. Some favorites of mine. French onion soup burger is my favorite. As well as the chip duo app. Anything with short rib has been a hit as well as the pulled pork sandwich. Drinks: The beers are pretty good, some of my favorites, but the Paloma or frozen Paloma is good. The milkshakes are delicious as well. Yeah I know, been there 4 times but tried so many things. Replaced another burger joint that we happened to visit quite often. Layout is the same. Same bar area and same seating area. Everything the same. Supposedly new owners though. Vibe is the same. The burgers here are good and not quite as hefty as the prior place. I do appreciate that since I can't eat that much in quantity and can't eat too much grease. Fries were good - not too oily. Service feels similar to the prior place except you don't bust your own table. You order and pay at the counter. You get a number and they bring your food. Self serve drinks. Came here to check this place out since it had changed from Grub. It is the same concept; order at the counter and your food gets brought to you. Split a burger with my wife. When it was delivered, it had not been cut in half as we asked. The guy said, I'll bring you a knife, but wisely took the burger away. It took a bit for him to return, but he split the order. The Stand replaced one of my favorites for local burgers, Grub Burger, but I wasn't really sure until after my meal and did some research. Not 100% sure if they're the same thing with new rebranding since it still felt similar with a few updates on their menu. Staff was super friendly and gave us a few recommendations on what to order, including their sauce selections (sweet chili aioli all the way!). We ordered the Stand Burger, Ultimate Egg, fries and sweet potato fries, and a side of the slaw. We were also given a sample of their Stand chips that were freshly made a few hours earlier. The food was really great and filling. The quality was there and the sauces complimented the burgers well. Both fry options were great and the slaw was nice and refreshing without being too sweet or drenched in mayo. Happy to try out The Stand and I'm sure I'll be back! read more

They offer Happy Hour M-F from 3-6pm, and also from 9pm-Close on Sun-Thurs. Happy Hour deals include $2 off of bar snacks and drinks; however, I wasn't sure if you have to sit at the bar or not to receive the HH deals. They had a lot of indoor seating available as well as a good sized outdoor patio are. The outdoor patio was super loud though, since they had the music on pretty loudly at first. They also have two giant flat screen TVs in the outdoor patio. I will definitely be back, especially to try their pretzel bun and Onion Stack burger. I very badly wanted to love The Stand because it is nearby, and because I rather liked Grub Burger, the place that was here before. But sadly, we were disappointed. It's only been open about a month so maybe these issues will work themselves out. I hope so. The place looked great! Bright, attractive, and clean, bar in the middle. The menu looks great--an upgrade from the already good menu Grub had, but with more and better-sounding sandwiches. They took our order immediately and we went to our table. It was a Tuesday evening, around 6, and not very busy, but our order took 20 minutes to arrive. :( Unfortunately, one of our items was wrong. They said it would be 7 minutes to replace. Unfortunately at that point we were late, but we really wanted the right sandwich so we had them replace it. It took 10 or 11 minutes. Not much of an apology and they didn't offer a gesture (not that they needed to but the service just seemed uncaring.) The food was competent but not a standout. The brisket sandwich was heavily sauced, thinly sliced, like sandwich beef; the sauce wasn't bad, but sweet and it overwhelmed the meat. For $14, I expect "14-hour brisket" to be juicy and meaty. The long-awaited buffalo chicken sandwich was good but not disctinctive. Well cooked, juicy, but again, heavily sauced. I needed a fork (they are not available self-service) but it was hard to get anyone's attention. When I finally did, the fork was filmy but we were so late, I wiped it clean and moved on. We'll probably try again and I hope they get the kinks worked out. read more

I came here with my husband in conjunction with a Yelp Elite event - I ordered an ABC Burger with fries while my husband opted for a short rib grilled cheese and a Southwest chicken salad (clearly too much food but he doesn't wasn't thinking when he was ordering, LOL!). The Stand is somewhere between a pure fast food/burger joint vs. sit-down/dine-in burger restaurant such as The Counter. You order and then you sit down but you don't have to bus the table - I only discovered this because I had trouble finding a suitable trash can for all of our trash & ended up asking one of the workers what to do. There is also a full service bar in the center of the establishment in addition to a menu with a variety of items other than the usual burger/fries items. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. The food is awesome and it's in a plaza that has enough customer parking. I do wish it's a bit closer to our home so we can check it out more often than not! read more

When I heard Grub was turning into the Stand, I didn't expect much of a change, and certainly the interior is identical, but the menu and food had a pleasant makeover. Love their fairly generous happy hour from 3-6 pm that includes $2 off beer and wine. Chip Duo, Dip Duo : YES! I could've only eaten this and been a happy camper. It comes with 2 types of chips: fresh potato chips, and house made tortilla chips. The potato chips are amaaaaazing. I'd buy a whole bag. Love that the dip duo comes with guacamole and a chunky cheese dip. Both are excellent. Kale Quinoa Salad: I never liked any of the salads and Grub and feel like salads at burger restaurants are often an afterthought, but this was comparable to salads at Mendocino Farm. The kale and spring mix tasted super fresh and I loved the texture from the crispy quinoa, chopped almonds, avocado and cucumber. Veggie Bliss Burger: I'd say they tried their best with this veggie patty that is filled with corn, black beans etc, but outside of the Impossible patty, veggie patties just always seem too mushy. Otherwise though, the toppings on this burger are divine!. Kids meals are a pretty good deal 6.75 for burger, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, hot dog, mac and cheese, or chicken breast with a side. We live less than a mile away and were regulars at The Grub. I loved the green chili queso and chips and salads. My kids loved the burgers and fries. Needless to say, we were shocked and sad to see Grub go but willing to give The Stand a try. The interior is the same but brighter, with a fresh updated look. The staff was helpful and attentive and the food came reasonably fast. My husband and I shared the Cobb Chop Salad and it was plenty of food for both of us, especially since we ordered fries too. Everything was chopped into nice bite-sized pieces and had a good ratio of veggies, cheese, lettuce and dressing. My daughter ordered the ABC burger which came with lettuce, cheese, tomato, avocado and bacon. She said it was more filling than a Grub burger and was good but not great. She is a lover of mushrooms and was disappointed that none of the burgers came with mushrooms. We ordered fries to share and they were fine, not as good as Grubs, but the dipping sauces were tasty. The salad options look good and I'd like to try the short rib fries, Big Blue and French Onion Soup Burger. So we'll definitely be back since the location is so convenient. I rounded up from a 3.5. I was born and raised in the Bay Area but moved to Los Angeles several years ago where I discovered the Stand in Encino. Whenever friends and family come in to town, they always want to go there so imagine my surprise to find out that they opened a location in the Bay! The food is the same as what we get down south: great burgers/sandwiches/salads. This new location is different, however, as it has a full bar and signature cocktails! It was a little early for me to grab a drink but the next time I'm in town, I definitely plan on grabbing a drink or two. Pro tip: Get the ABC burger or the stand burger with cheese. Today tried a BBQ brisket sandwich and a Stand burger and tried their aqua Fresca (cucumber mint) and blueberry lemonade and trying the chips and pickles with a mailed coupon. Got to go, but sat at a tall table while waiting. Pretty chill music and ESPN on TV, so decent place to wait . Got home and dig in: baked chips were really nice. Thick, light salt and seasoning, decent flavor. Pickles: loved these. Classic dills but pretty mild and decent crunch without being overly vinegary. BBQ brisket sandwich was a symphony of flavors. Meat little sweet, slaw little sour, mustard sauce little sweet and pretzel bun little salty. All really worked well with each other. Decent amount of meat on sandwich too. Then the Stand burger: not as fancy as the other sandwich but a good solid burger., decent size patty and cooked well (medium well).lastly the drinks: the blueberry lemonade definitely has a punch of lemonade to it and just a hair of blueberry sweetness. I ordered the French onion dip burger. It was very delicious , the bun with toasted nice and crispy. The burger was cooked medium rare., the onions were sweet and salty, the cheese was nice and melted... It was a 10 out of 10. They even give you au ju to dip your burger in. The sweet potato fries were delicious with that aïoli sauce. Oh my god they were so good I took some to go. The service was very good as well. Everyone at the Stand was very courteous and attentive. It had avacados on it and the person is allergic to avacadoes. The only thing tgey got right on that hamber was the double paddy. The 2nd hamburger was ordered well done and it was pink and she is pregnant. The last order was the brisket and it was ok. The sweet potato waffle fries were soggy and could not be eaten. We came on a Thursday afternoon, parking was not an issue. We were helped by Ana who was super helpful. The entrees we ordered were delicious! But the star of the show was the short rib grilled cheese! So flavorful, I will be dreaming about this grilled cheese every night I got the sweet chili aioli on the side and took it up a notch. Gosh, I miss Grub. Why on earth did it have to change? Def my question to ownership/management is "why did you fix it if it wasn't broken" The endless ranch.... RIP to the endless ranch. Nonetheless, I had the French onion soup burger and it was VERY good. Disappointing that fries are now a la carte and burgers seem to be much smaller. Kind of reminds me of Shake Shack but no crinkle cut and better burgers. Hubs liked it, and I did too, but I just miss Grub and wish the restaurant hadn't rebranded. I think there are better menu options overall at The Stand, but Grub had better portions and better presentation for a fair price. Not sure I'll go out of my way to try this when my heart is set on Brew City so close by. Service was excellent, ambiance is somewhat the same, but the women's restroom just had a big wet paper towel roll out and the soap wasn't adequate to get the meat smell off your hands. The fries are always served cold or lukewarm and taste like they've been sitting around. The burger is decent. The service has been good. I wish they served anything hot and crispy, but the fried stuff is usually soggy and limp. I suppose that's OK if you're gonna do take out and reheat it in an airfryer. read more
