Grabbed dinner to-go tonight. The people working at the restaurant were SO nice, very welcoming. Food was ready to be picked up as promised and order was correct. They have a salsa bar available to grab any extras you might want. The "hot" sauce was indeed pretty hot to me, but very tasty. (A fried shrimp option would be great with that sauce.) The pork taco was my fav. So so good. Chicken taco - the texture of the chicken was not my vibe. Not an issue with the cook or seasoning, but the quality of that particular piece. An issue I've seen overall with chicken quality in the US. I also got the Sonora taco (carne asada with extra toppings). The beef was tasty. Although the beans were good, I would probably go with the base carne asada version next time. We also had the chicken quesadilla. Portion and prep was great, but similar issues with chicken quality. Lastly, we had the guac to start. The avocados they used were the perfect ripeness. It was a tad bland for us, so we added some red onion, salt, and lime and it was amazing. Nice spot. Oh myyyy goodness!!! LOVE this place but sad it's going to get busy soon. The burritos are size of your head. The tortillas and churros are both made fresh on-site. Service was very slow. Only one other table in the restaurant prior to us ordering and took 25 minutes to get our tacos. Carne asada was overcooked and sauce on it was bland and visually unappealing. The tacos were also served cold.The sitting area was very gross and hadn't been cleaned, salsa and grease everywhere which was attracting a swarm of flies. The salsa's were below average. I moved to DFW in 2021 from San Diego County and have struggled to find a taco shop that could compete with what I was accustomed to. My family and I had been to the Taco Stands in Encinitas and Laguna Beach and the food there was amazing. We waited patiently for the Dallas Stand to open and finally it has and it is fantastic. The bean and cheese burritos tasty like CA refried beans. The corn and flour tortillas are most and fresh. The salsa stand has great flavors regardless of spice level. Highly recommend the Mar y Tierra burrito if you are looking for some surf and turf. The Sonora taco with the chunks of carne asada was tasty as well. Since TX is all about breakfast tacos, it is hard to find a breakfast burrito. I was in luck with the Taco Stand. Chorizo burrito was awesome. Lastly, the churros, wow... don't forget those. Bottom line, this is the spot for all you Californians who don't get excited for Texas Mexican food. Hopefully they open one in Collin County so to avoid a 30 minute drive. No regrets and will continue to travel until that day comes. read more

The carne asada is juicy and tender and the California Burrito is almost the size of a forearm. Tacos especially the Al Pastor is tasty as well. While the prices for tacos may be reasonable in California, I think the greater than $3/taco is a bit steep for Dallas. read more
