High quality tea, but prepare for a long wait time. I arrived on Saturday afternoon and was told it would take up to 30 minutes to make my drink. From my multiple times of visiting this place, I ordered a tieguanyin, No. 18 Golden Mellow, and a Mango Sago. The tieguanyin milk tea had a high quality, smooth tea taste from the first sip. Less sugar was perfect for my taste, but the tea is definitely strong and can be overpowering (a little bitter) to some. The No. 18 was not bad, but if you're intrigued by the name/presentation, I don't think it's anything special and would suggest ordering a different flavor. The mango sago was not good, and for around $8, felt bad to pay for it. The mango taste isn't the sweetest, and the overall value for the drink was disappointing. Their boba pearls had a good bounce and chew, but lacked a little flavor. They give a good amount of boba pearls though, so it should last the entire drink. Although this place has a strong tea taste and pretty good quality drinks, you can tell this place, like Sunright, is catered more towards the Asian American population of the Asian population. It just doesn't taste the same as other stores filled with Asian international students/people. Parking is weird since the lot is configured so bad. There are plazas next door to park, which was nice. If you arrive here and the wait is around 30 minutes, I would strongly advise coming back when it's less busy. However, I don't think waiting 30 minutes for a boba drink is worth it, especially when competition is so high in the area. Most places offer similar flavors and quality as well. Although this place is decent, the unpredictable wait time with drink quality I can find in most of the SGV doesn't make it a stand out candidate to come back to. read more

We ordered at the register and the cashier was friendly and helpful in answering our questions about their menu. We didn't wait too long before our names were called to pick up our drinks at the rear of the shop. So many new boba shops popping up in the SGV - especially in the Alhambra and Monterey Park area. The Tea opened up recently in Monterey Park, taking over a portion of the building where the furniture store/appliance store used to be on Atlantic. It's adjacent to the Sunright and Half & Half plaza with maybe a few parking spots in the lot. I'd recommend parking in the plaza next door and walking over. This place definitely has the ambience down. The look, openness of the space where the workers prepare the drinks - definitely make the storefront feel more open. I came by before the grand opening where I waited maybe 15 minutes to order and about 30 minutes for the drinks. I know it got pretty crazy during their grand opening weekend. They do offer pretty unique teas, and it seems like their specialty drinks include hojicha and ujimatcha - both of which I don't really like. Besides that though, they have coffee, fruit, milk, and pure teas. Pricewise isn't too bad - it's quite comparable to the other boba shops in the area. I tried their signature No. 18 Golden Mellow Milk Tea ($5.50 with brown sugar boba for $0.75). Thought the taste of this was actually pretty good. At 100% sugar, it was not too sweet; boba was cooked well and had enough chewiness to each bite. Also tried the fresh fruit green tea (orange) ($5.95). I was a bit disappointed - just because I was expected a little more pulp or some fruit pieces. Taste was on the bland side at 60% sugar. Didn't get too much orange flavor. Probably would not order this again. And lastly ordered the roasted oolong tea and added a crema top ($4.75 + $1.00). So looking back to the photos, they actually gave me an oolong milk tea, which I wasn't aware of until now. What I did realize though was halfway back home, they had forgotten the crema top. Unfortunately I didn't pay much attention when I was in-store - I was just happy to finally get the drinks! But for an additional $1, I did want my dad to get that crema top! I drove back and let the worker know. He was super confused and asked if I had ordered it (which I did, it was written on the cup) and asked me if I still wanted it (which I did, I drove back for this purpose!). Didn't get an apology or anything, which would have been nice. As for the drink, the oolong milk tea was alright. My dad did enjoy the crema top and thought the taste of the oolong was pretty good. tl;dr - thought it was not bad. Last weekend, I was in the area and craving a refreshing drink. There are limited parking spots in front of the TEA., so I parked at the nearby strip mall and walked over. At around 2:30pm, it wasn't too busy, so I didn't have to wait long to order and get my drink. As my order was being prepared, I observed the shop; the space is bright and there's a few tables inside, so most people were chilling there or outside of the shop. I ordered to Mango Pomelo Sago with 60% sweetness. You definitely have to stir this drink to get everything because my first sip was just a mouthful of sago. The layers of the drink were very appealing. I think mine had a lot of sago and I wish there was pomelo. But the mango slush was tart and thick, which made it very refreshing and satisfied my cravings. Also, the modified sweetness was a good call. The drink was a bit pricey - almost $8. #93 in my Teaholic Diaries. I came here on a weekday during their soft opening. It was pretty packed when I went, but luckily my friend and I still received our drinks fairly quickly. I ordered their most popular choice, the Golden mellow milk tea, which is a light and fragrant black milk tea. The drink wasn't overly sweet and was definitely more tea-focused than most boba shops tend to be; I loved that I could actually taste the tea. I also ordered the Matcha strawberry, which came highly recommended by the staff. From the first sip, it was clear that they use premium grade matcha in their drinks. I also like how they make their matcha drinks the correct way - with the use of a bamboo wisk like in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. For those unfamiliar with matcha preparation, this keeps the matcha smooth and prevents the matcha drink from getting that grainy texture that a lot of white coffeeshops tend to give you. It's a cute little boba shop that's opened in the super plaza! Service there is great, the cashiers are always friendly and helpful when selecting drinks. The store itself is very well positioned and it kind of ushers you around them like a kiosk so you can order and wait in a line. They finally have seats there too! As for the negatives, I've been here three times and each time, the wait for my drink took about 20+ minutes. One even took 32 minutes. I really don't think it should that long to make a drink though, especially when there was only two people in front of me and they have like six people working. Most of the people in the 626 have probably worked in a boba shop, and it should not take that long to make a drink. I tried this place for the first time last week and let's just say that I fell instantly in love. It's probably in the most busiest area for milk tea related drinks with sunright, half and half, happy lemon, and bobaful, but I must say, this place definitely has the potential for a foothold in the community. I got the Coco Mango and Coconut Taro Milk Blend. First of all, the ingredients are real and they are fresh. Real taro and mango chucks. Secondly, the coconut pudding. Omg. You know the white stuff of a coconut? Imagine that in pudding form. That is what their coconut pudding is. They absolutely do not play around with the freshness and the flavors. Finally, the sweetness. They have 60% sweetness, and they really did what I think is 60% or about half sugar. Lots of boba shops get creative with what they think half sugar is, always making it too sweet or too watery, but in my opinion, this place gets it just right. Parking here is tough. It's a one way parking so it's kind of hard to navigate, and there's only like three available spots. Of course they are still in construction, so we'll see how they develop. Parking is available in the next plaza over! Service here is alright. I saw someone doing work with their laptop, but I didn't get to see if there were outlets tho. Restroom located towards the back. The downside is that there is no seating available; so grab your drink and go. Staff members were friendly and you even get to see them prep the matcha! We love this place. They use fresh milk, offer dairy alternatives, ceremonial matcha and lots of fresh fruits. The prep stations are totally out in the open and you will often see them peeling and chopping up fresh fruits. The drinks themselves are very good. So far we've tried: coconut taro blend, toasted brown sugar boba milk, jasmine milk tea, strawberry fruit snowy, strawberry matcha milk, hojicha latte, uji matcha latte, coco mango and passionfruit fresh fruit green tea. I haven't had a drink yet that I thought was bad. The boba itself is good. Nice level of softness, chewy, not overly sweet, nice flavor. The only thing is I think they should increase the serving of boba a bit. The boba portion in my jasmine MT was much less than the toasted brown sugar. The boba in my jasmine MT finished quickly with about 70% tea still left which was not as satisfying to drink without the boba. The coconut taro blend is so delicious. It tastes and reminds me of that soup dessert you get at Chinese restaurants with the coconut milk and sago. Sooooo good. The toasted brown sugar boba milk is also very delicious. The flavor of the roasted brown sugar is so on point. That really nice caramel brown sugar taste without being sickly sweet or a weird chemical taste some places have. The jasmine milk tea was good but kind of too strong for me. Strawberry fruit snowy was yummy. The yogurt taste is yummy. Kind of tastes like strawberry syrup. The strawberry matcha milk was good. But out of the 3 matcha ones I've tried so far. I personally like the hojicha the most. The coco mango was very tasty. Real mango with coconut. We added lychee jelly. It was nice because their lychee jelly isn't really long like other places. Great drink on a hot day. The passionfruit fresh green tea is very aromatic and flavorful. If you normally get 0% sweet (that's how I typically like my drinks) I wouldn't recommend 0% sweet on this one because the citrus rinds make it bitter. Def needs some sweetness but it's such a refreshing and aromatic fresh fruit drink. The staff here are also very friendly and knowledgeable. If you have questions, they can gladly tell you exactly what's in each drink without having to refer to a sheet or ask someone which I think is so nice. The first time we went there was a line of about 4 infront of us. The 2nd-4th time there was no line. There is a def a bit of a wait for drinks to be made but I'd rather wait for a fresh milk/real fruit tea than get a fast one from a place using powdered creamer and artificial flavoring/colors. I think if the place could fit a couple more tables that would be nice but we love this place. We thought we had our forever fave (a different shop) in this area but unfortunately the quality seemed to have changed recently so this place has become our go to boba spot for now. Came here for the grand opening and stood in line for 3 hours LOL. They need to do a better job of enforcing the line. I saw these two boys ask another group of boys that were waiting in the front if they could back-cut them. (just for a free swag bag, how lame). Maybe distribute the ticket numbers in the beginning to prevent cutting. A lot of reviews say that the wait time for drinks is long so I was worried about that. Very well made delicious drinks, but not perfect because it's not going to have a high quality tea taste. I got both the Uja matcha and the toasted creme brulee. The matcha is exactly how you would taste it. If it's all imported matcha from Japan, they typically taste similar. However, at normal sweetness, the sweetness is perfect if you want a mildly sweet drink. I usually do 25-50% so a normal sweet is right above 50% which is great! What surprised me was the toasted creme brulee. With all these tea shops popping up, everything is starting to taste the same. However, this drink had a perfect combination of taste and once again, at normal sweetness, it was perfect to be a mildly sweet dessert. I highly recommend this drink if you want to be adventurous. You can watch them whisking the matcha by the counter and you definitely taste the quality. - Coconut taro blend: my favorite drink here! They use real coconut and real taro chunks in the drink. This is a new tea place at the former Superco location that is still in the soft opening stage. I visited on a Sunday night and the wait was 40 minutes from lining up to getting my drink. As others mentioned, the parking lot is small and there's still construction going on. It might be worth it to park elsewhere for now. I ordered the Toasted Thai Tea (3/5) which is a Thai Milk Tea with toasted brûlée on the top. The brûlée caught more of my attention than the Thai Tea which didn't have much of the aroma a Thai Tea should have. The brûlée on the other hand had nice flavor and was nicely toasted. I ended up not finishing because it felt heavy after a while but that's subjective. I bumped them up a star because I changed my order a bit after ordering and the cashier was really nice about it despite dealing with the long line. They had one person calling out names when orders were ready but it was hard to hear since it was loud inside. They should consider mobile ordering and text notifications. read more

I was excited to try a new tea place and the drinks are a hit or miss. I have tried mango pomelo sago (loved it, tasted more like a dessert in a cup than a drink), house signature fruit tea (love it and love the fruits), Or-lichee (not a fan, did not like the consistency and the flavor was weak), passion orange green tea aloe (no sugar was very bland so I recommend adding sugar to it), fresh strawberry lemonade (just no... tasted like all sugar and no lemonade nor strawberry flavor), strawberry fruit snowy (super bland, appreciated all the fresh fruits but not an enjoyable drink at all). Not too sure about this one... First off the tea is great; flavor, aromatics, and boba. The boba has nice flavor and texture. The tea shop is a bit abnormal with no spots to sit inside and it's lay out is a circle so when you order you move to the right and exit left.. usually.. or do as you please. The thing that makes me not want to come back is the line and the order they serve the drinks. I came with 2 others on a Sunday night around 8:00 PM. There was about 3 parties ahead of us with about 2/3 people for 2 groups and 1 guy alone. The wait to order the drinks was about 14 people. Crazy, right? The cashier told us the wait would be around 15 minutes, no big deal. Waited in line for 45 minutes and the group that ordered in front of us was still waiting and they got the drink order wrong. I'd be so pissed off waiting 45+ minutes and they get my order wrong. That night in particular it seemed like they were calling orders for people that ordered 20-30 minutes after us because they were out of mango and cutting it.. pretty weird but nice I guess? I definitely would not come back if I saw a line overall more than 5 people. If there was no line I'd stop by. They already have like 5 employees. They need more employees or train their employees better. It seemed like none of them knew how to make a drink and this place didn't open yesterday. It's new but not NEW NEW. Take your own risk coming here. Come at the right time and you'll be golden, if not, good luck waiting longer in this line than a ride at Disneyland. read more

So happy to see a new boba place open in the area! They're not officially open yet but the girl working the front register, Connie offered to make a drink for me to try when I stopped by. I really appreciate how Connie took her time to explain the drinks to me. I ended up getting the No. 18 golden mellow milk tea with pudding. I'm pretty picky about my milk teas so I was worried it would either be too milky or the tea would be too strong but it was actually really good and balanced! They also gave me a lot of pudding which was nice. According to Connie, they don't use any artificial syrups in their drinks and everything is freshly made. They have glass windows on the side of their counters so you can see them preparing everything using natural ingredients. Their fruit teas have actual fruit in them! Their drinks are on the pricier side but I think it's worth since you're paying for higher quality drinks made with fresh ingredients. I will definitely come back and try their other drinks! read more

I heard people were lining up for hours for this new boba shop that opened up. So I've been meaning to give it a try. It's not located in the half & half/ sunright plaza. So unless there's no parking. I wouldn't park there since it's a bit of a walk over. It's actually directly across the street from Ralph's where the appliance store use to be. [Food 5/5]: I ordered the golden mellow milk tea 60% sweet w/ Crystal boba! It definitely tastes very refreshing and fragrant on the first sip. I actually taste the tea unlike some other places. In terms of the milk tea, I definitely would prefer this place over sunright and half & half. [Service 4/5]: The pick up area is in the back, which was kind of confusing because I saw a bunch of people just standing against the wall. I would suggest to have a sign or something. I didn't mind waiting, but I only ordered 1 drink and it took 20 minutes to make. I went at around 3pm on a Tuesday (working day) too. I ran into a friend and he had to go back to work, and was wondering why the drinks were taking so long. So I wouldn't go unless you wanna spend your entire lunch time there lol. The service is always great, staffs are so friendly. The drinks is always great! The ambiance of the store is nice and welcoming. Some reviews below talks anout not having tables and chair etc....it was their soft opening, so therefore they won't have much as its a soft opening. We can after their grand opening, they now have tables and chairs for costumers to sit and enjoy their drinks. read more

The TEA has easily become one of my favorite boba shops since they opened. Service here is really good and the drinks are made with such good quality. My favorite has been the Toasted Oreo Milk Tea, but I've also ordered a regular Milk Tea, Strawberry Snowy, Mango Snowy, and Lychee Aiyu. All drinks were really good! Store is super clean and is located in a plaza with lots of parking. read more

Delicious! I'm sad it isn't open in the morning, but I'm so happy that my friends told me to try this place out. I didn't know that the store inside was that big, you could use their bathroom, and the staff was very nice. We went as a big group of women and got this special July summer order deal, where if you buy five drinks, you'll get a bunch of free reusable straws. So that was cute. I ordered the mango and coconut drink and it was fabulous! There's plenty of parking because the other stores next door have not been established yet. read more
