I'm always so excited to try a new milk tea or boba shop! When I saw a new one opened on Atlantic, I knew we had to try it. I ordered the "Toasted Thai Tea" and my fiancé ordered the "Toasted Creme Brulee". Even though I asked for less sweet, it was still VERY sweet in my opinion. Surprisingly, my Toasted Creme Brulee was lighter in flavor in sweetness and was to my liking. The drinks were good - the creamy top that they toasted with a little torch (very cool!) was yummy as well, just a bit too much in my opinion and there was not that much liquid/tea. I could not finish my drink, but maybe I will try asking for even less sweetness another time... As far as ambiance, it was pretty bustling since it is a new boba spot in Monterey Park/626. However, the staff was also just nice enough. They ignored the front cashier spot for about 3-4 minutes and finally someone came and asked us what we would like. Not much small talk, but they weren't rude either. Just OK. We waited about 8-10 minutes for our drink, so may not be the place to go if you are in a rush. All in all, it's decently good. Leaving this review in hopes that management is able to chime in. We placed a phone order and picked up our drinks to head out to our lunch reservation. My girlfriend grabbed her drink out of the bag and the cup itself cracked inward near the top, spilling all over her clothes, shoes, bag, and the passenger seat/floor of my car. We missed our lunch reservation as we had to turn around so she could shower. I came back to talk to the manager about this and they were courteous, apologetic, and quick to replace the drink. I've been coming to this establishment since the day it opened and it's still my number one boba shop. They make everything fresh and you can see how they make the drinks which I love to see. Their drinks are unique and each one has amazing flavors! I always recommend this place to everyone and have not failed. I get most of their drinks 0% sugar since I go every week (lol) and they taste amazing still and that's why I love this place. I'm giving five stars for the drinks since I don't think I've ever gotten a bad boba drink ever from here so I know I can always rely on this place for good boba. The wait times can get to you but I think it's worth it so I don't have a problem with it. Rating- 3.5/5. But I'll be nice and be round it up since it's a new boba shop. I came here at least 4 times and each time totally gave me a totally different experience. I ordered the signature fruit tea the first time. I requested less sugar and less ice. I figured it's going to take a while before I can pick up my drink so I went across the street for some grocery shopping and came back 30 min later, which was perfect timing. There's a lot of different variety of fruits in the fruit tea. However, there's chia seed and passion fruit seed, which I'm annoyed about. However, bc I requested less sugar, the tea itself tastes more like diluted honey water. As for the other time that I was here, the staff says it's close due to emergency around 4p just when I was able to open the door. Then there's another time they ran out of matcha early within a few hours of opening. But, I did eventually come back and tried their matcha, which is good but not worth the time to keep coming back repeatedly not knowing if they'll have it or not. My last visit that I went there, I ordered the lychee aiyu which I really enjoyed. Overall, the place is nice, near and spacious. The Tea is a nice place for drinks for a casual hangout or after dinner. In the past, I've had their Toasted Thai, but their Mango Pomelo Sago is also super tasty. One of my favorite parts is their "long" walk to the pickup / restroom. The walkway is adequately spaced but also has a few nice pieces that leave a relaxing mood. Both drinks that I tried were tasty, even at their lightest sweetness level. Solid boba spot in Monterey Park! The flavors are always fresh and not too sweet. You can order either at the kiosk or through one of the team members. Snacks are also usually present on the counter top (uncertain if they're for purchase or for our enjoyment with the tea -- we've been encouraged to take in the past and it is very generous of the establishment!) I usually get either the Coco-Mango or the Mango Pomelo Sago. Both drinks are a little on the thicker side and more smoothie like, but are nonetheless delicious. They are more of dessert drinks and leave you full after drinking. Parking can be difficult directly in front of the shop in the plaza itself since it is rather small, but there is a parking lot immediately to the left where you can circle back and park in. read more

Newcomers to the 626 boba scene don't often get a warm reception, but the TEA is an exception. Sporting a unique interior, clean branding, and even the out-the-door queue, this place is like OMOMO in every way-- except it might be better! Although the TEA just opened, it's well-equipped to handle the demand with an efficient staff and an eye for quality. The TEA has all the hallmarks of high-end boba joints-- fresh tea, fresh fruits, and perfectly cooked boba. All of the drinks I've tried so far have been standouts. Their passion fruit and fruit teas have the tanginess is missed from flavoring-based drinks. The milk teas are balanced and brewed well, with mellow and clear aromatics. It's clear that the owners of the TEA are passionate about QUALITY. I really hope that the business continues to last. It could become one of the 626's favorites (if it's not already!). As the newest hype in the boba space, don't expect the line to be short. I waited about 30 minutes in total, but I'm happy to report that the drinks live up to hype. The hojicha latte with oat milk was surprisingly creamy and balanced, no bitterness and the oat milk wasn't noticeable. The tieguanyin milk tea was delicately smooth and bright. Note that their creamers do have dairy. Both drinks weren't too sweet at 60%, though if you have a sweet tooth, I would recommend full sugar. read more

They have a wide selection of drinks (which I appreciate), but some of their drinks taste just like what they're named and I think I can make the same ones at home. e.g., Oreo milk taste literally like Oreo blended in whole milk. I've been here 3 times now and I can say that it's becoming my go to boba shop in the Monterey Park area. The tea-based drinks are great and the texture of their boba has been consistently the right texture for me. Only thing to note on areas of improvement for this place is their limited/cramped parking that's under construction and also their pretty long wait time. So make sure you have at least 20-30 minutes to wait if you come here. I've tried a couple of their drinks so far and my favorite has to be the mango pomelo sago drink! It's perfect for the hot summer since it's refreshing and sweet with the fresh fruits in it. I tried my friend's strawberry matcha with oat milk and think their matcha is my next favorite thing. The signature fruit tea is okay - can't add any toppings since it already comes with fruit bits and it comes with passion fruit so don't get this drink if you don't the seed texture. The other drink I got was their brown sugar boba milk and I think it's just okay too. The thing that makes it good is their boba which I think makes any of their drinks taste better! read more

I think this could be my new favorite boba shop. It's not quite there yet but I am liking some things about it. I love fresh fruit teas so the fact that they have a whole collection of them is great. I went with the pineapple mango ai yu and the grapefruit green tea. Pineapple mango ai-yu (4/5): I asked what was in the pineapple mango ai yu, and they said it had diced pineapple and mango, pineapple and mango purée, and aiyu jelly. Apparently there's no added sugar but there's likely some sugar in the purée. They only allowed for less ice (I like to have no ice). The plus is that the ice was crushed ice so it melted fairly easily after a short while. The flavor overall was good and actually quit e sweet but not in a sugary way. The aiyu jelly itself is hardly sweet if you managed to sip a large chunk. Something I didn't like was some of the mango bits were not so ripe, but it didn't affect the overall taste too much. Grapefruit green tea (4/5): There is a bit of pulp which I always enjoy. I got 30% sweet and it was a good level for me who usually orders 0% to 25% sweetness. I also got no ice. The drink was a bit watery for my taste compared to other grapefruit green teas. Perhaps more pulp would have given it more body. I don't know if they squeeze their own juice so I couldn't say if that affected it. But I do see a lot of squeeze bottles of purée so perhaps they do. Maybe it needs more juice overall. If you've ever tried Tea Brick's GGT or A Plus Tea House's (currently closed) you know what I mean. One thing I would change about the fruit tea menu is to leave out ai-yu as a default. I don't mind it but it's in maybe 40% of the menu options. I asked if it could be substituted with aloe (the price for aiyu and aloe toppings are the same) but they said I would have to pay the additional topping price regardless. And perhaps they could do Yakult green teas with fruit (something my favorite A Plus Tea House did and was my favorite thing ever, but unfortunately they're no longer in business). I guess it could be a customized thing I could try asking for. All in all, I like that there is a place to get fresh fruit drinks that have a lot of the natural fruit flavor without being too sweet. I will come back to try other drinks and update my review then. read more

My new go to spot for my matcha latte! Before this place, my standard for a matcha latte had always been Boba Guys since they actually use premium quality matcha and each cup is whisked per order. I was surprised to find that they also do that here. The sweetness level is also just right and the boba is very chewy. Location wise it is right across from Ralph's on Atlantic, where the old Superco used to be. Nicely designed interior and easy parking. They have some competition with Sunright and Half and Half right next door, but their unique menu and quality drinks will do well considering the fresh perspective they will offer for locals. I feel like this place has so much potential to be even better than it is. I really wanted to rate like 3/5 stars but because I put so much effort into liking this shop I'll round it up in hopes of the manager reading this review. It took me alot of trial and error/almost trying the entire menu to understand what drinks actually taste good and which ones are not that good because the menu is honestly so weird. Let's start this breakdown. The No18 milk tea imo is alot better hot than it is cold but regardless, their hot cups for a large are the WORST cups ever. Even though their caps say "hot caution" the drink literally gets caught in the rim of the lid and constantly leaks down the cup, making the cup insanely sticky and messy. Every time I tilt the cup to drink, it spills, so the lid is not practical or convenient and I lose half the drink because of this issue. Also when they give hot drinks, they never give it with a hot sleeve. All hot drinks should be sleeved properly because the cup itself gets way too hot to carry naked without another barrier. Another thing, some of the coffee drinks you can make hot and some you can only make cold and its not labeled correctly so you literally have to run through the menu and ask about each one. We ordered a toasted oreo milk tea trying to attempt to get an omomo dupe, and since it had the word tea in it, we assumed it was made with tea but it tastes literally like just milk and oreos... idk maybe im wrong but theres barely any tea flavor if there is any. And if there is no tea then they should not call it a milk tea. While on that topic, the tea flavor isnt too strong, I kind of wish they had alot more stronger tea tasting options as they're all pretty mellow. The boba topping is okay, I dont think its the best boba, and its a little bland but pairs well if you like boba with your drinks. The menu seems big but its technically not because the milk tea selection is just okay and the fruit tea as well and after running through the options nothing really seems too intriguing to get. I wish you can make the Or-lichee a tea because its my favorite drink there and alot of the times I dont want is as an icy slushy since you have to drink those right away. They have a lychee tea version but it doesnt have orange flavor and I feel like there should be a way to either add that or to make the or or-lichee a tea version. Right now they have a buy 4 get $5 off the 5th drink promo and its not the best deal but its something. Workers are whatever, they're a bunch of high-school students with like mid level customer service that I am never impressed with. read more

It is highly unfortunate that the parking lot is under construction, so there are literally three or four parking spaces available, and it's also at a weird angle so it was difficult to park correctly and get out easily. On the opposite side is the plaza where Sunright and Half and Half are, so big competition! The interior is nice and clean. The menu board is too reflective. No seating available. I think I found one of my new favorite matcha / boba spots in the SGV area! I usually struggle to find authentic quality matcha in the area and have to go to K-Town or Downtown LA to get some, but this spot hit the spot as they prepared their matcha correctly and used ceremonial Uji matcha powder. 30% sweet was perfect for someone who likes their matcha lattes a little sweet but not too sweet to the point where it overpowers the matcha. I also got the lychee ai-yu, and we were not able to adjust the sweetness because they use only fresh fruit and do not add any additional sugar. The drink was naturally really sweet but was also really refreshing and they even added lychee bits into the drink. So perfect for the summer! The drinks took around 15-20 minutes after ordering but it was also the weekend and a really hot day, which makes the wait very reasonable. The interior of the place is really cute and minimalistic, but would be nice if they had some indoor seats. Overall, this place is such a matcha/boba lover's gem and Sunright a few stores down will definitely gain some competition! Will definitely be coming back often to try their other drinks! read more

Tried The Tea for the first time today and I had a really good experience overall. I ordered the roasted oolong (30% sweet, less ice) and the signature house fruit tea (60% sweet, less ice). The roasted oolong had a really bold, flavorful tea taste, which I loved. However, it felt a bit powdery, maybe from the creamer. The fruit tea was also great, packed with pulp, and really felt like it was made from real fruit--not too artificial like you get at some places. I enjoyed it a lot! The only thing is, even with the less ice option, there was still more ice than I would have preferred. It didn't affect the flavor too much, but I'd like to have a bit more tea next time. I have personally tried their Uji matcha, thai milk tea, earl grey, and no 18. so far & my favorite tea has to be the No18. or Uji. The Creme Brulee on top of the thai tea is so yummy to sip on and meshed very well with the tea. I wish the thai taste was more strong but still good. No 18. stood out to me because it is very unique. I never had a milk tea base like this & it's addicting once you had a sip. The uji matcha is a nice green color that indicates freshness and quality. Comparable to the uji matcha powder I got from my Japan trip! My go-to order is 30% less sweet, just because I like to enjoy the tea taste more. My only complaint is when I ask for less ice, It still seems like they are giving me the normal amount of ice. They also forgot the topping on one of my orders recently. Drinks were pretty standard. To be frank, I did get basic drinks, the Toasted Thai Milk Tea with Boba and Toasted Brown Sugar Oat Milk with Boba--both solid but nothing special. The boba was great, nice and chewy, and the tea reminded me of Quickly or Honey Boba, which is nostalgic but not exactly life changing. The "toasted" was subtle, which I appreciated, but not enough to make me want to reorder. Wish it maybe was the highlight or dominating taste so I can appreciate something different as we all continue to chase new and exciting boba and appreciate innovation. I originally wanted the Tie Guan Yin, but it wasn't available. I might give their coffee a shot next time when I'm around. Location-wise, they have their own parking in front and more spots in the back, which is nice. But the pick-up counter? It's hilariously far from where you order. Lol. read more

Came here for a drink after lunch on Saturday. There was a line because it took a while for the staff to take the order. When it was my turn to order, I realized why it was taking so long.. because the staff taking the order was also scooping the toppings into the cup and putting the label on the cup. I looked at the menu and had 2 drinks in mind.. the coconut taro blend or the oreo matcha brulee. Since the coconut taro blend was a signature drink, I decided to go with that one. When I got the drink it looked pretty watery. Wanted to take a picture, but it wasn't pretty enough. Tasted the drink and it was ok. Just had some coconut flavor and not much taro flavor. Think my expectations were too high.. probably wouldn't get this drink again especially for that price. However, I would consider coming back and trying the matcha drink .. hopefully, that'll be more impressive. If not, there are too many boba places around, will just go elsewhere. read more

It's a slush type of drink but it's creamy enough that I like it melted too. I got this 100% sweet but I think it would be good at 60% as well. I've been here a couple of times specifically for their Vietnamese coffee. My go to has been the Seasalt Creme OG. It's creamy, bitter but not too bitter. The flavor of the coffee itself is good. It's not too acidic. It's hard to find a good Viet coffee here in the 626 area and I'm glad there's now one so close to home. I don't have to go to OC anymore to get my fix. Service so far has been good. Everyone has been nice and friendly. Drinks come out fast (but I've only come during off-peak hours). The place itself is very clean, warm and welcoming. I've seen plenty of people sit down to chit chat. Not a lot of parking in front of the store itself but there are parking structures close by. House special signature fruit tea: if you have ever tried the colorful fruit tea from Mr. Wish, it tastes similar to it. Perhaps because of the apple slices and the use of similar fruits in the making of the drink. Very refreshing. I recommend it, if you love fruits that give crunchy textures as you drink. Sea salt og: Reminds me of viet coffee. I loved the bitterness and how strong the coffee was. It has a hint of hazelnut too.
