Not the best Korean fried chicken in Seattle, but definitely one of the better ones you can find on the east side. I wish they have half portion available, otherwise it's a bit hard to consume 16 pieces of fried chicken all on my own. The price range is a bit high for their Korean comfort food but any Korean restaurant is very welcomed on the East side. They serve more than just bibimbap/tofu soup which is great. They are also one of the very few restaurants open for dine in now. I will visit them again for sure. read more

We were a party of 6ppl (4 adults + 2 kids) and were told that they only seat complete parties. That's completely understandable but since my husband & son were running behind from their time at the nearby Conundrum and the toddler was hungry, we asked for a table for 4ppl instead. As any parent knows, delaying dinner for a toddler is a bad idea so we told them the other 2 may sit at another table when it's available or take their food to go. The girl working there rudely said no and walked away. I stopped her, asking her to give us a table for 4ppl again (we were practically begging her) and she said since the restaurant only has 7 tables, she did not want to give us 2 separate tables because we will end up sitting around waiting for the other 2ppl to finish eating anyway and we would be wasting their 2 tables. Their precious tables. We told her that's not our intention and we wanted to just feed the toddler sooner than later. After asking her multiple times, she told us no but I think she was tired of arguing with us and she finally pointed at an open table at the back and told us to seat ourselves. She didn't give us a highchair so we grabbed it from the corner ourselves, and she didn't give us enough water or utensils for the entire table and the whole thing was infuriating. If I hadn't spent so much time driving around looking for parking and if I didn't have a toddler with us, I would've walked out. She kept coming by rushing us and asking if we were ready and when we asked about items on the menu & for recommendations, she would say one inaudible word and then just walked away, making it very clear that she only wanted to be at our table if we were ready to order. I also want to point out that the table next to us had one guy come and sit by himself for 10+ min waiting for his date to arrive - so yes, they do seem to seat incomplete parties. Although it might be because the girl was terrible but the male server seemed nice (who was the one that sat the gentleman seated alone until the date arrived). My husband & son joined minutes later before the food arrived but the girl continued with her unwelcoming demeanor and didn't even help us get chairs to our table. With the lack of interest in our dining experience, I would give the service negative stars. The honey garlic chicken wings were good though and my toddler enjoyed the food so I'm giving them 2 stars to even it out. read more

So I realized my previous review was for the wrong place. So sorry. This is not a teriyaki place, and has a full Korean menu. We don't normally eat meat so I can't speak to the fried chicken (which is apparently their specialty). But the rest of the Korean dishes are solid. Great tofu soup, bibimbap (vegetarian), and banchan. After the first visit, we went back within two weeks, which is unusual for us. Excellent fried chicken with great crunch and flavor! I've tried the plain and sweet variants (and the spicy as part of a set meal, bit too spicy for me) as well as a few other dishes. Good japchae and the ratio of seafood and veggie in the seafood pancake is very generous! The banchan is all tasty too. We've only been able to experience Third Place via takeout due to the pandemic, but this hasn't diminished the experience of the food. Everything is packed well with proper ventilation to not sacrifice the crunch of the chicken. I've been calling to place orders rather than use third party services that take a cut. This particular location has been 3 restaurants throughout the time I've lived in Redmond. While I still miss the old dim sum restaurant, having walkable Korean is a great addition to the neighborhood. I hope the restaurant is able to stay in business long enough to survive the pandemic - I'd love to try the dine in experience. read more

Sits in the heart of Redmond across from Matador is this new quality Korean restaurant. We tried the half and half fried chicken, stir fry udon and tofu soup. The Korean fried chicken is super tasty. Tofu soup is not too salty and comes with six side dishes. All dishes are very well prepared with good quality ingredients. Waiters are friendly and efficient. I ordered the half and half chicken to go. Half fried and half yangnyum. It was very crispy even after taking it home and opening it up. There was a decent amount of of breading. The flavor of the breading was plain and tasted like it may have involved baking soda in the process. For the price point, I expected the quality and quantity to be better. The wings, which is what they promote the most, to me tasted like they opened a bag of Tyson wings pulled out 8, and sprinkled the smallest amount of sauces and seasonings. I also ordered other dishes such as their glass noodle which didn't come to the table and we had to pay extra for seconds of the small dishes that come with the meal. I could just tell you this is a 5 star review and this place is great, but there is much much more to this review. This is a story of love, tragedy, romance, betrayal, and hope. My story begins as I was being chased through the streets of Redmond by a millennial in his dad's Tesla. He was enraged at my 1996 Tacoma. The mere sight of it angered him, and he threatened to make several passive aggressive tweets about me being a part of the problem, while he was trying to be a part of the solution. I parked and took off on foot. I attempted to lose him by blending in the crowd at Molly Moons. However, I made a grave mistake. I was only wearing ONE MASK! The gods be damned! Several Karens threatened to stab me with those little wooden sampler things. I was in no mood to die today, and so again, I ran. I hid for several days in the park. People tried kicking me out but I just told them I was a homeless guy from Seattle, so they had to let me stay. My assailant was gone, but I was starving. I crawled the streets, begging for someone to go 50/50 with me on a bitesquad delivery, but humanity turned its back against me. I was at the end of my road. I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, beckoning me into the peaceful shimmer. As I approached, I felt a hand grab me. It wasn't like a weird creepy kind of grab, like a frat kid at a dance club, but the good kind, like someone who is trying to help you. I turned around and thought I was looking at an angel. It was the staff from The Third Place. They looked at me, but it felt they were looking into my heart. They said "come, eat our delicious food. It will make this long story end." No choice of meat, whatever was on my plate was well past it's expiration date. Unable to bite through stringy noodles. The taste was terrible. As a Korean food fan, I was speechless. No checking back by waitress. Went to desk after two bites, said it was inedible. Waitress was not surprised, she's obviously been through this before. I have been disappointed with the wings in the Seattle area. They are either too soggy and/or the flavors are just not right. I decided to pick up Korean wings at the Third Place instead for the Seahawks game and I am so glad that I did! I ordered the half and half - original & their sweet/spicy (yangnyum) chicken. The original one surprised us - it was very crispy and had a great crunch. The sweet/spicy one was very good. Went to this place a few days ago, technically they were under a "soft opening" for eat-in but we were able to get a table. The place seems well set-up for COVID with hand sanitizer and plastic shields at the host counter, and everyone wearing masks. The menu is a mix of regular Korean food with fried chicken options as well. We ordered a Kalbi (short rib) Bento Box and Honey Garlic Fried Chicken. The Kalbi came first and came with rice and an assortment of pickled and fresh veggies. The sides were nice and fresh, especially the kimchi cucumber. The meat was well cooked and flavorful, pretty standard for KBBQ. The standout of the meal, though, was the fried chicken. It was wings, which wasn't clear from the description, but they were crispy, fresh, and delicious. It was also a generous portion (maybe 16 wings?), to the point where we actually had leftovers. I should mention that we were served on paper plates and with plastic cutlery, but I'm guessing this is for COVID reasons and won't be the case once they are fully open. Nice staff, good food, no complaints! This location has been a graveyard of past places but I'm hoping this one is here to stay. read more
