Popped in for lunch with some works peeps while I was in town based on the hood Yelp reviews. It's def got a Mediterranean vibe from the late 90's early 2000's. We all ordered the lunch special and got an app and a main. The service was brusk, not super friendly but not totally terrible either. I had the hummus and chicken shish plate. The hummus and pita were pretty tasty, the shish left something to be desired. It was pretty bland except for the salt, most of the salad was rotten so I didn't eat it, the rice and bulgur were whatever.After recently visiting many Turkish places in Miami I had high hopes but the food did not even come close to those places. read more

The BEST food around, and such genuine, kind and fantastic service. Delivery and take-our and outdoor dining available! Cute area to sit outside curbside. The food was delicious, generous portions, authentic, and fresh. Shepard's salad, lamb Kofte (so tender and perfectly cooked at the right temperature) are good choices but I think everything on menu is A+! The Turk has been extremely generous with their delivery discounts and deals during COVID, and I really hope that will keep them afloat and thriving. I would really like to dine in at their establishment in the future when it's once again possible. Today, we ordered a couple lunch specials and shared so we could try everything, and everything was delicious. The Shepherd Salad and the Cacik were so good that I can't imagine placing an order without including them. Also, the Artichoke Hummus was one of the most amazing hummuses I've ever tasted. This place is phenomenal. All around great place to be. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was well above average and the environment of the restaurant was calm and romantic. I did not make a mistake on taking the wife here on Valentine's Day. I wish this place was closer to home but well worth the hour drive. I wish there was an option to give 10 stars. Unfortunately, this was a bad experience. We ordered a salad and some appetizers. The salad was maybe a handful of lettuce and some veggies and cost 17 dollars! I have never in my life paid that much for a side salad portion. Additionally, there were little flies everywhere and we found it rather bothersome. The waitstaff was not the most attentive and it seems to have gone downhill since the last time we eat there back in 2021. Ordered two sandwiches - 1 chicken Adana and 1 Adana. The Adana came with literally no meat inside. Called the restaurant to let them know and their only response was to get a refund for it through seamless. No offer to make it right. I was excited about trying The Turk as I've passed it numerous times and it's exterior is decorated in such a welcoming way, BUT... I wasn't sure I would like Turkish food. Am I ever so happy my friend made this suggestion! This was by far the most enjoyable experience. It's obvious the Owner/Chef enjoys what he's doing because EVERYTHING brought to our table was delicious. He was a pleasure to talk to and incredibly helpful/patient. He brought us samples of the Apricot and Sour cherry juice which were delicious, so we had Vodka added and wallah, yummy cocktail. He also offered samples of hummus and baklava as this was our first Turkish dining experience which was unnecessary and generous on his part. We rated... Lamb Chops served with salad- 5/5 Steak served with salad and potatoes- 5/5 Baklava - While this treat may be on the sweet side for some, I found it to be the right balance of flakiness and flavor. - 4.5/5 Hummus/Dip/breads - yum, yum and did I mention yum. The bread was served warm which is always a plus for me. - 5/5 The pictures do not do these meals justice. As appealing as they may appear in the photos, they are far more appealing in person. Original true and through from appetizer to dessert. The Turk, the owners and waiters make you feel like family. Flavorful dishes further drive the point home and wrap up the evening with half a bite size of baclava which is all you really need. This spot is a must. It's a great spot for an evening date in the area or a night out with the family when the kids are starving and want to eat something carby. The portions are large so it's okay to share or eat till your heart's content. The server and host are both very friendly, never had Turkish food before but it is close to Greek. They have Lamb Gyro, Sish Kabab and vegetarian options. We ordered lunch much came with sides, eggplant dish served cold and chilled ( we did not know )but the soup was great. Having been to Turkey and coming from a Mediterranean home, I was looking forward to the meal. Wine and beer were excessively priced but there was a separate wine menu, which we ordered from. Apps were spinach pie - lackluster at best. Main courses - Döner kebab was ostensibly the Greek diner with some rice and salad plated. The meal was served luke warm. The other main dish was a kebab over pita. Also served luke warm and quality compared to a Greek diner. Upon paying the bill, we were overcharged for the wine the server stating that we selected the wine from "an old menu". Go to a good Greek restaurant or even a diner and save half the cost. read more

What a wonderful experience my friends and I had at The Turk. The service was both personable and perfectly timed. Each dish was explained for its cultural significance. The chef even came out and explained how he makes the yogurt. The food was so delicious and creatively presented. We sat for hours and never felt hurried. This was my first time here. For starters, they gave me some warm pita bread, and there was a small bowl for dipping the bread. The bowl contained olive oil with....tons of mustard. The lentil soup was very good, the pita bread fresh baked right out of the oven was fantastic, which went very nicely with the hummus we ordered, also delicious. Also had falafel appetizer, excellent. The Turkish beer (Efes) we tried went very nicely with all. For the main dish I had the lamb shish kebab, very tender and tasty, outstanding!
