We gave it a shot since we like lunch here and it did not disappoint. I had coffee and the Brads Breakfast and I loved it! I will not go back to my regular spot again. I hate to give a bad review.....but come on.....I called based on someone's comment from a month ago to see if everyone was wearing a mask. I was assured that they all were, that it was mandatory. I get there and only the person in contact with you at the door had a mask on. No one else. To top it off, the bone in lemon pepper wings were too salty to eat, I've never experienced that, and the fish tacos had no seasoning. I've never eaten from an establishment and experienced that, aren't all recipes carefully measured out and standardized to avoid situations like this. My boyfriend, his sister and I decided to try this place out based on the menu--we all like different types of foods and my boyfriend can be picky. He got a burger and fries and we got the ahi tuna salad. The food was delicious! Even my picky boyfriend liked it. The customer service was excellent as well. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 is because we did judge the place on our initial entrance-- it could use a little redecorating and my boyfriend and his sister said they thought it smelled musky. I didn't smell anything but I also lost my sense of smell months ago due to Covid so idk. But they actually wanted to turn around and leave to try somewhere else. I've been a regular here for a little bit now. Loved the food, clean, fresh, made to order, and you don't feel heavy or bloated when you leave after you've eaten your whole meal. Not fast by any means, but that's not a problem for me being a SAHM. The (former) staff Marissa and Daydriana are phenomenal, never rushed us (our group spent over 3 hours there once) and were always a joy to talk to. And the prices are so reasonable it is ridiculous. This is a much needed spot in an town with SIX McDonald's. Totally sounds like this should be a 5 star review right, and up until last week it was. A customer took to a local social media group to voice her displeasure regarding her last dining experience there (taking over 45 minutes for order and water to be brought to the table) and instead of George Placeres, the owner, apologizing and offering to make it right, he not only attacked her, but anyone else that agreed with her sentiment. George went so far as to offer another commenter on the post Rocky Mountain Oysters on the house. He was rude, condescending and unapologetic. He spoke badly about the former employees and defamed them publicly. He also spoke poorly about the community as a whole and called them all names. The next day, he came back on social media, not to apologize for his (most likely drunken) public rantings like we all thought he would do, but even went so far as to blame the customer, saying his staff said she was rude. Our first time trying them, we moved to Tracy from Silicon Valley. Kind of hidden away in a non-descript spot. BUT their food was really impressive. Very home cooked, non processed food. Hubby had a chicken bruschetta wrap which was juicy and flavored right, along with a side salad; great portion size. From the appetizer menu I had lemon parm crispy brussel sprouts, Korean boneless chicken nuggets and sweet potato crisscut fries. Let me tell you, if you're a fan of crispy Brussels sprouts, these were amazing! Best part? NOT greasy! The lemon flavor was infused throughout the center of each sprout, and the parm cheese was abundant and shaved, not dry sprinkles. The sweet potato crisscut fries were not frozen, or they fooled me. Soft in the centers but super crispy outside. Pretty sure these were scratch made. AND all during the COVID-19 social shutdown, this place was amazing! We will return for more! read more

What a hidden gem! I heard about this place from a co-worker (we were in Tracy for a work-related visit) who said he'd recently discovered it and loved it. We took a chance and 5 of us visited for lunch. I'm SO glad we did! The decor I really charming -- rustic and cute. We got a table upstairs (it was quiet inside because we visited at a late hour for lunch) and the wonderful proprietor, Brad, asked us to try out a potential new menu item (it included queso dip, so the group happily accepted the offer). Brad was so great and the sample was fantastic! Everyone in the group LOVED their food! We were all members of the "Clean Plate Club," which rarely ever happens! The food was fantastic (healthy, but didn't tasteless cardboard AT ALL -- just fresh and clean) and our server, Desiree, could not have been more lovely!! She was ready with smiles and suggestions, and she took incredible care of us! I highly, highly recommend this place to anyone! I've been here for lunch twice and it was good, so I brought the family last night and it was just as awesome!! My only complaint was the bbq sauce on my steak was a bit spicier than I wanted but it was good nonetheless!! I've ordered from here multiple times in the past, prior to the new ownership, and it was amazing. However, the quality is not the same. The beef is not the same cut of meat that used to melt in your mouth. Now it's chewy and even has some fat on it. The mac and cheese doesn't have the same cheesy flavor that it used to either. All the things that will keep me coming back over and over. The best news.... they now have patio seating so it's dog friendly!!! We walked in for lunch and yes, there is an upper room. The restaurant offers a very health-oriented menu. So we really didn't know what to expect. We were promptly greeted by our hostess who seated us and shared her knowledge of the menu choices. I asked for three samples of the many different sauces you can get to complement your menu choices and all three were excellent and obviously freshly prepared. The pesto sauce is "truly amazing". I ordered salmon which came with a choice of starches and vegetables, and without a doubt it was the best salmon dinner I have had in ages and certainly the best in the valley. I opted for the mac and cheese with the salmon and it is very, very good. My daughter had the steak dinner which I sampled. It was tender and full of flavor and came with potatoes, and her choice of vegetables. Surprisingly, the meals can be ordered ala carte, without the starch or vegetables at a greatly reduced price if you have a light appetite. They also have an extensive salad menu featuring steaks, chicken, shrimp, etc., etc. This was a very memorable dining experience which I plan revisiting again and again! read more

This review is a bit overdue but better late than never. Had a really good experience at Upper Room a while back. Service was attentive, I had steak with quinoa (I think) but the star was this chimichurri sauce on top. So good! Good cocktails too. All around, a great experience. Awesome food and service! Me and my boyfriend ate there last Saturday morning towards the early afternoon when it was a bit busy and I noticed it was only one person running the whole thing! Waitressing, bartending, hosting, AND even cleaning! While doing all this she also was so attentive to us and friendly and really made us feel at home and helped us figure out what to order because my boyfriend had never eaten here before! It was sooo good! Shout out to the cooks there too! We ordered the elote bites, I got a chicken bruschetta wrap, and my boyfriend got the build your own steak plate with crispy Brussels and sweet potato fries and a side of garlic butter and Korean bbq (as she suggested) and it was soooo good! Was up in Tracy for a day to visit a friend. It is a lovely place filled with friendly folks. Same goes for the service from the Upper Room. The servers and staff are friendly and made sure we have water and all. The 3 stars is for the food we ordered. The wait was quite a while despite the restaurant was not full. No worries since I was with good friends so we chatted while waiting. I ordered medium for my steak but it came out well done. Same for my friend's steak. Worse was her steak since majority of it was full of smaller pieces that were corners of a steak. It wasn't a piece of meat cut/sliced into stripes for her.. majority of it was burned and hard for her to chew. And she ordered her steak as medium rare. My mashed potatoes was not creamy, which was alright but it lacked flavor and overall it was bland. Only delicious thing on my plate were the shrimps, cooked perfectly and flavored well. The Mac n cheese was yummy (said my friends). Overall, it's a hit or miss.. so I would choose another place to try if I have to go up to Tracy next time to make my trip worthwhile. read more

The drinks are pretty, but taste like plain lemonade.. I got tofu with pesto.. It was pan seared and cooked well. If it were cut a little smaller if would be tiny bit better. I also got quinoa, red potatoes and shrimp with hoisin sauce. My dad got crispy Brussels sprouts that were great, salmon that was amazing in flavor and was cooked perfectly. His sweet potatoes were a little bland and he couldn't taste the cinnamon. My little sister got chicken with lemon and olive oil. It was cooked right but tasted only like black pepper. After high expectations from reading reviews and talking to friends, finally visited last night. The tea and water were great and even the side salad was fresh. Then came the main dish, Korean BBQ chicken and Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was bland and tasted like boxed, chicken was so tough that you couldn't even cut it. Chewy and way overcooked, almost as if it were cooked frozen... wanted to try the salmon but after this visit, won't be back... After 2 visits back here and trying the salmon and the new steak it was great ! I have even tried the chicken, all outstanding ! Glad I went back and gave them a second chance!!! read more

We ordered the surf n turf salad, Cobb salad and bruschetta! I almost took the bruschetta off my order and so glad I didn't! It was amazing and complimented both salads! The Cobb salad met my expectation of a classic Cobb salad with chicken! It was plumped full of spring greens and generous portions of everything! The surf n turf salad also had nice portions of meat and shrimp. In fact both salads had enough for a second small meal a little later! As for the bruschetta there was nothing left! We finally tried the Upper Room today for lunch to see what the hype is all about. I want to start with saying just because it's the best clean eating, real food place in Tracy, does not mean it's amazing or the best food ever. That would be like saying, it's ok, for Tracy. If it's good, it's gotta be good anywhere. I have mixed feelings about the Upper Room. I truly see what the owners are going for BUT it's not quite there yet. They need a little more attention to detail in the interior design, servers and kitchen to make it great. When you walk in, it's a bit awkward with the set up. There's no one greeting you so you're not quite sure where to go. The interior needs a bit of work. A little more elbow grease maybe, or different lighting. It doesn't feel new, if you know what I mean. We ordered fairly quickly which was awesome. Our food took a bit of time, but for fresh, clean food, it can take time. Totally fine. But when we got our food, it was wrong. I ordered chicken with salsa verde with brussel sprouts and carrots. My husband ordered steak with chimichurri and mixed vegetables. My chicken got the chimichurri and his steak got the salsa verde, which wasn't even green, it was red. So we had to ask. We agreed to keep the dishes the way they were because it would have taken too much time to have them switch. And upon my first bite of chicken, it was cold. Not room temperature but cold. And my carrots and brussel sprouts were burnt. I don't mind a little char on my veggies but these were burnt. At the end of it all, I decided not to return my dish, again, but it wasn't worth my time. My husband's steak was delicious as were his veggies - which weren't burned at all. Also, everything needed some salt and pepper. Definitely underseasoned. I don't know how long this place has been open but if these types of dishes are their schtick, then they need to get them right to be successful. Love it here! If you're ever craving simple, light food, then this is the place for you. The service is always excellent and the environment really adds to the experience. I like that you can go simple with the plates (protein, sauce, and two sides) or amp it up with their other options, like salads and sandwiches. So I tried this place out based on a recommendation from the wife. She said this place is healthy and specialize in meal prep. I figured that was cool and would make a nice healthy lunch. I walked in to find the restaurant. The menu was pretty basic which I am good with since I am picky. I chose the chicken with pesto and veggies. The wife picked ahi tuna and glass noodles. Normally I stay away from chicken but restaurants seem to cook chicken better than I do so I felt safe to order chicken. The meals come in a meal prep container which can be used over and over again. I thought that was kind of cool. I took the meals to my wife's work and I had lunch with her. So my meal was just barely ok. I know this place specializes in meal prep but I didn't think I would have received reheated piece of chicken. I thought the chicken would be made fresh and then served but it was obviously pre-cooked. You know what that means? Yes stringy and dry chicken. Not good. Mind you healthy doesn't always taste good but I assumed I would have received a barely cooked piece of chicken and not a pre-cooked and then heated when needed piece of chicken. Oh snap I rhymed! I think you get my drift. I'll think about giving this place another try but I will stay away from the chicken. read more

Every thing about these dishes were good. I recommend if your in the area to give this place a try.
