I loved my salad! I had the surf and turf and it was yum! Their mac and cheese that my son had was pretty good too. The one bad thing that was way off was, that they overcooked the tuna, which was really sad. Since everything else was good im giving them a whopping 4 stars. I was interested by how amazing the drinks looked. But what brought me in was the meal prep option. I wanted to try it out before I committed to someone else making my meals for a whole week. The option to pick and choose exactly what is on your plate is amazing and with all of the options I am sure you would have to come here quite often to try the combinations. Although, I see nothing wrong with that. I ordered the Thai chili shrimp with mixed vegetables and glass noodles with the pineapple drink. My husband ordered the miso salmon with mixed vegetables and orzo. Not going to lie, the mixed vegetable scared me as the way it looked reminded me of the cold kale salad from Whole Foods which I do not like. But I was pleasantly surprised. I then ordered two meals to go because my parents were on the fence about trying it. I got to sample a bit of what I ordered them (steak and ahi) and it was just as good. Met my dear friend in Tracy over the holidays as she was traveling from Dublin back home. Unassuming place, but was pleasantly surprised by the menu offerings. We had the brussel sprouts with lemon and parmesan to start...very nice roasted brussels. She had the build your own entree with tuna, quinoa and vegetables and I had the Blt with fries. I think the build your own would be better as a bowl and not on a plate. The BLT was good, nice pieces of bacon and fries were crispy and not greasy. Excellent fresh, healthy lunch. I had steak in a Thai chilli sauce with brown rice and mixed vegetables. Just over $10, but I feel great consciously eating healthy. Brussels are not crispy at all, they are barely cooked. The ahi tuna on the other hand is waaaaay over cooked. Red potatoes are the best thing on my plate. Also he likes the 49ERS and the Giants so we connect on that level. I wish Rick wasn't married otherwise I would marry him just for the food he cooks at the upper room. One time Rick let me put on water polo on a Sunday afternoon in September. Rick I want to eat every day at Upper room but I can't because I live in walnuts Creek. Can I make one suggestion Rick? Everything was so good! My husband and I just went here for dinner and absolutely everything, from our drinks to our meals to the service were perfect. The lemonade drinks were the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. We both ordered steak, him with the miso sauce while I opted for the pesto. My husband paired it with sweet potatoes and carrots, and I paired mine with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Everything was cooked just as we would have wanted, especially the vegetibles. Crisp without being too raw. YUM! Just be aware of their hours, they close at 7. We almost missed out on a great meal!
