So glad to have found this swell restaurant during a recent business trip to Tracy. My husband & I ate there both nights we were in town. Great to be able to mix & match the proteins and sides. The ahi tuna was delicious the first night & the steak equally delicious the second night. We stuck to the steamed broccoli and the crispy fried Brussels special. Service was prompt and pleasant. We especially appreciated the server's willingness to turn off the TV above my head during dinner. If we're ever in the neighborhood again, we'll be sure to stop by. This new restaurant is decorated urban/contemporary! I love the decor! Hubby and I have visited twice including today, and we bought the meal prep package because it is such a great deal!!! You can order your food for dine-in or for take out anytime you want. The food is cooked to perfection. We have tried the shrimp, salmon, steak, seared tuna, and pork chops. All have been cooked exquisitely and were very savory. Now the sides are fresh and delicious! The Mac and Cheese is homemade (live a little) you will love it! Yes, we will definitely be going back! Invited here by my cousin who loves their food. Glad she did it was great. Very fresh and didn't take a long time for our orders to come out. You pick a protein, starch, vegetable and a sauce. I picked salmon (cooked perfectly), Brussels sprouts (a little undercooked), glass noodles and two sauces on the side. Great choices and inexpensive. Can't wait to try more off their menu. Oh and had the pineapple lemonade, first was a little watery so I got a new refill it was delightful!!! A cool vibe and idea for a restaurant but we will not be returning. Staff was very friendly but food wasn't what I was expecting. I know the idea for the restaurant is to be "healthy" but you can make healthy food with flavor. My meal and my husband's were so bland. He ordered a steak with potatoes and neither had much of any flavor and I ordered a seared ahi tuna salad. The salad was flavorless. I asked for a second cup of dressing hoping it would add flavor and it did not. It also was supposed to have avocado on it, which it did not. I had to get up and ask where the avocado was and was then told they ran out (we were the only one's in the restaurant at 5pm). It would have been nice if the cook told the waitress and the waitress could have told us. This is probably a great spot for someone trying to cut out all sodium but not very enjoyable for someone else. read more

Can't figure out the hype for this place. Went into the restaurant to get 2 salads to go, 1 Surf & Turf and 1 chicken. Was very disappointed that none of the employees (2 cooks & all of the bar/servers) were wearing face masks, even though it is mandated by Governor Newsom to be worn. Came here for the first time today never even heard of it but my mom recommended it so we gave it a try. I like the setup they had was suprised to see a 2nd story. Got the chicken brown rice with a salad on the side. Salad came out with tomatoes I didn't want and the wrong dressing but our server was very polite and changed it out for me right away. We've been regulars for several years, since shortly before they changed owners and the customer service has always been wonderful. The food has always been great, and the one and only time there was something I was concerned with they gave me another plate and explained the issue. I've been reading about some customer service issues, but they normally status you when it's busy. The busy-ness they have had lately has more to do with COVID than the management. They have had a hard time attracting staff, like MANY establishments. During the statewide lockdown, they were AWESOME! They were very busy, because they were one of the only places open for business for a while. The owners take a big part in serving, and spend some time when they have a moment to chat. The last time we were there, they were slammed, and said, have a seat at the bar, and we'll get you seated ASAP. The wait staff let us know they'd be seating us as soon as they could, and Brad served us some drinks though we were told it would be a while. The table was ready before we knew it, and it was great. I can't wait until they have brunch service again, as it's always a great place to take guests! We love the food and the staff treats us like friends, so it's our favorite spot! read more

Tracy Blvd) I love it because of the consistency it's the same great taste every time. All the chef's are all on the same page so you don't ever have to worry about coming in on certain days/times. I've used meal prep services for a long time - being a single guy who is incredibly busy, it's much easier and cheaper in the long run. This is the best meal prep service I've used (I've used 6 different ones across the Bay Area previously), and it is by and far the best. Food: 10/10 It's made to order, seasoned thoroughly, cooked to your specifications, and always filling. Service: 10/10 I've had nothing but positive interactions with every one of the staff inside. Met with smiles, immediately taken care of, and am in and out in a matter of moments. I usually call and order 6 meals and they are always ready for me within 30 minutes or less. Decor/location: 10/10 Very nice decor and access is very easy. Right off 11th st for easy in and out. Parking is always accessible. Price: 9/10 I've used meal prep services that get the price down to $9/ meal, but their food and service was nowhere near Upper Rooms. So I'll gladly pay the difference. They also have a bar, which is stocked pretty well. While I haven't sat down to eat here, I absolutely would at some point. read more

Under the new ownership I promised to give them another try and I'm happy I did because the customer service has done a complete turn around. In my last review, I was upset that the meal plan gift certificate I got for my parents was not handled the way that it should. They did not honor the number of meals they had coming and instead of fighting with them, my parents just let it go since the food wasn't any good anymore anyway. The new owner (sorry forgot your name) asked us to allow them to honor the certificate. It had been a while so we couldn't remember exactly how many meals they still had left so we didn't think it was fair to throw a number out. I didn't want to cheat them. My party walked in and we're told to sit anywhere, so we went upstairs and found a table near the windows that face 11th street. We were greeted by our unenthusiastic waitress who asked if we had ever been to the Upper Room before. We hadn't, so she explained the menu to us: Pick one protein, one starch, one vegetable, and one sauce. The selection is very simple, but not in a bad way. They also had a number of salads to choose from on a different menu. The waitress was not very good at explaining the drink menu, but we made some good selections in the pineapple and raspberry lemonades. Our food came out in a reasonable time, and was excellent. Our plates were: Steak with mashed potatoes and green beans in a Korean BBQ sauce, steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts with chimichurri sauce, steak and ahi tuna with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies in a Korean BBQ sauce, and shrimp with roasted red potatoes and mac and cheese with no sauce. All the food was excellent, and the portions were satisfying. Overall a good experience, and I will be back. The waitress's attitude improved during the middle of our meal. They also have a meal prep service that uses the menu, and is reasonably priced. It's nice to have a place like this in Tracy. read more

So, I've heard about this place for a while and finally decided to try it. The food is really fresh, my mashed potatoes and mac n' cheese were a little bland but I just added a tad of salt and pepper which helped. I'm shocked to hear about all the name calling the previous owner did online to a customer a few months back, and didn't know they were under new management. So...I'm glad I came the other day when I did. The new owner is very nice and staff was attentive, and prices are very affordable. Desiree was my waitress and she was very personable. My mom loooved her dish. She said it's been a long time since she really enjoyed her food at a restaurant. She loved the chimichurri sauce, and ended up mixing it w/ the sweet thai to put over her chicken. I liked the sweet thai w/ my chicken better than the Korean BBQ sauce. Both of us love pesto but didn't care for the flavor/spicyness of their pesto. We will be back again for brunch and dinner :) read more
