And I gotta say that this is actually a very disappointing, I bought take out for me, my fiancé & my son. When we opened the bag and saw the portion size and we noticed that we barley had any glass noodles/quinoa, the veggies were bland, little to no sauce, steak was way to chewy, the ahi tuna was over cooked, the shrimp was rubbery & there was barley any seasoning. Customer service fucking sucks here, refused to give me my money back for this plate best they did was half off lmao?! I guess they really need those 15$! So me and my 11 year old daughter and my 11 month old daughter came here to eat and let me just say it was delicious their menu is a little different than most they have protein they have a starch and then a veggie and your choice of sauce I got the steak with Korean BBQ sauce and the chicken with hoisin sauce green beans and mac and cheese my daughter got the pork chops with glass noodles and red potatoes we all ended up sharing each other's plates and giving the baby a little bit of everything from our plate so it may seem like a place for adults but it is a place for everyone overall we enjoyed it very much and then to top it off we had a strawberry lemonade that was very good read more

The crispy brussels sprouts are my absolute favorite. I make sure to tell them "lightly crispy" so they aren't too over done for me. I have worked in Tracy for almost 4 years now and eat out for lunch more times than not. Honestly this has been the best MEAL I've had for lunch outside of our own home food. I love all types of food and enjoy trying new places... however... this food is by far the very best in quality, flavor, portion, and price. I would recommend ordering ahead of time if you don't have much time for lunch but highly recommend you to go in and take a seat upstairs. Nice and cool up there even in this heat wave. I ordered a surf and turf hot plate. Steak, Shrimp (4), Mashed Potatoes, Korean BBQ sauce, and Brussels Sprouts. Anyone who truly likes brussels sprouts knows you can easily cook these wrong... these were spot on! I asked if the Korean BBQ sauce would be on the side for dipping and was told that whichever sauce I pick the protein choice would be cooked in. Fair enough lets do it! $12 for all of this ... I wish you could mix and match what's on the salads. Like take one thing offand add something of equal value without being charged more. So I didn't go for the salads. I did get a plate of grilled chicken, mixed veggies, and Brussel sprouts. J got the Caribbean jerk sauce. But they really don't give you enough, as the chicken was very dry. The sauce was really good, just not enough. The veggies and sprouts were wonderful. My brother got the Cobb salad. He enjoyed it. Our server was very nice. The restrooms were not clean. We went to this wonderful restaurant tonight. We were seated in the window area by the hostess. The waitress appeared and took our drink order and gave us a menu to select a Protein, a Sauce, and 2 sides from the menu. She explained everything was farm fresh. I ordered Salmon as my Protein with Pesto and Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Sweet Potatoes for the sides. The Salmon was cooked to perfection, Brussel Sprouts were very tasty, as were the Sweet Potatoes. My friend boy had the mashed potatoes, Chicken smothered with Salsa Verde, and Broccoli which he described as delicious! The portions were large. Prices were very good and we spent about $48. Ive been wanting to try the upper room since forever! Ive been here twice, once at night around 8:30pm and got kicked out because only their bar was open, even though it didn't say anything on yelp. Not a problem, I'll just come back another day I thought. KICKED OUT not literally: Because we wanted to dine in and the man working said that only the bar was open, we didn't want to drink we wanted to eat. Not sure the exact day but I remember getting upset because they didn't have their hours posted. So yeah it happened... Since I didn't know what time they closed i decided to go in during noon because I knew they'd be open. The staff was AMAZING, my server was very kind and accommodating, BUT the wait for the food, the food, and the price was ridiculous. Waiting for the food was crazy long, I went here around 11:40 and didn't start eating until 12:30. The place wasn't even full, they had maybe 4 other tables that were already eating their meals, so i felt like our wait was too long for what we ordered... I had ordered the surf and turf with glass noodles, mac and cheese, with asian mix salad. The glass noodles, along with mac and cheese were pre made so the 30 minutes to "cook" the steak and shrimp were crazy, i know that it only takes a couple minutes for shrimp to be cooked too. My steak came out burnt and there was char on it, super hard to eat and extremely over cooked. Me and my sister didn't touch our steak after the first bite! Super gross. I told my server and she got me a new side of shrimp. The mac and cheese was gross! The total price that I had for everything was around 54 dollars which is crazy for 3 people. I was thinking in the high 30's. Apparently we ordered extra sides when the paper clearly stated that we could choose two sides each. I won't be back. read more

This place has amazing service. They had one waitress who was also the hostess and she killed it. She was hustling between serving and being a hostess. Give that girl a raise. She knew the menu and made recommendations for certain dishes with those for dietary restrictions. The food was good. I had the tofu with Thai Chile sauce, glass noodles, and vegetables. We also had the steak with the same sides. The steak was over cooked past medium rare, but still good. The tofu was cooked perfectly. The Thai Chile sauce is bomb. The glass noodles were delicious, but a little too oily. I highly recommend the pearly gates drink. Best lemonade I've ever had. I love the menu structure (protein, starch, and vegetable), not many places in the area are successful in serving real food. I hope this place sticks around. read more

After posing my original 1 Star (wish it could've been 0 Star) review as a reflection of the previous owners actions online and in person to his clearly undervalued consumers, the new owner of the Upper Room (Ricky Lopez) reached out to me, as I'm sure he did everyone else who left a negative review in the aftermath of his predecessors social media rant.. I appreciate the gesture and understand that that isn't a reflection of how the business is to be ran in the future (I hope) which is why I'm changing this review to 4 stars. In my opinion, the seared ahi is to die for, but no amount of amazing food is worth being terrorized on the internet by somebody you bring your business to constantly. I will be returning to the Upper Room as they are under new management. Based on my next experience I hope I can change the review to 5 stars, and thank you to Ricky Lopez for reaching out on behalf of your business. Good luck, I'm sure you will do great things here and I hope this change makes the Upper Room great again. George (the owner) chose to take to Facebook to release some of his frustrations about his "14 hour work days" and how his staff can't please everybody, so maybe the customer should come in and try it for a day so she won't expect as much as a glass of water from his staff after sitting at a table for almost an hour. During this drunken rant, he also made sure to call multiple people losers, fools, grandmas, thirsty (in the worst way), and just carried himself honestly in the most unprofessional manner I've ever seen somebody who "runs a business". Clearly he isn't cut out for this line of work and perhaps should hand over the baton to somebody else because after the words I saw him exchange with some customers (even people whom had written about how shocked they were to see such a bad review of the restaurant because they'd had nothing but great times there) I am just shocked and truly appalled by this situation, especially being a waitress at a restaurant, I can't imagine my managers let alone the OWNER ever conducting themselves in this manner. This is the place to go if you are looking for a healthy meal! Love the menu set up: choose your protein, pick a starch and a veggie and a sauce. I ordered the salmon with brown rice, man n cheese, and salad with thai sweet chili and my hubby ordered the tuna with mac n cheese and salad with the same sauce as me. EVERYTHING was delicious and came hot. Friendly low key atmosphere. Good local beer and wine selection. Our meal was worth the price. I had a Signature Salads - Ahi Tuna Salad with Glass Noodles, Salad Mix, Sweet Thai Chili Vinaigrette. It was a nice portion & Tuna was rare with a light sear. It's great to see Old favorite restaurants opening up to new favorite restaurants! Being a vegetarian this was a great option. However, even if you're not vegetarian they have great salads, meat fishes, great dishes and side dishes and very nice relaxed ambience! We tried the lemonades they were actually really refreshing one was sweet while The other was not too sweet. I prefer sweet so I enjoyed the raspberry where my best friend tried the pineapple lemonade it was refreshing but not as sweet as mine but both are great! Definitely try it out. read more
