Came to Tracy for second year for work, last year this restaurant was outstanding. This year my experience was bad. Came on a Monday evening restaurant was almost empty ordered my food and 30 minutes later the server came to my table and told me that my ticket was lost and needed to reorder. Minutes later she came back to say that they didn't have Salmon. After all they gave me the tea for free. Food is great but service is awful. Tonight arrived at 6:30pm and server said that they were closed for the night, having a sign outside that they were open. The good thing about my bad experience was that tonight found Satomi another local restaurant with outstanding customer service and excellent food. read more

We initially came in because Yelp stayed it was breakfast, brunch which is only on the weekends. Anyways we stayed because the environment and people were amazing. I loved the way you can make your own fusions. I got the ahi and steak which was amazing. Their Bessel sprouts are amazing (I would have ordered two if I knew how great they were). I'm not sure if the gentleman that was so kind to help us order our food was the owner but he made the process of picking my plate so easy. They have a great choice of beer and the signature (non alcoholic) beverages are the best I've ever had. I will be making a visit again. read more

Excellent fresh food prepared by Chef George. I had the tortilla soup (Made that morning!), The ahi, Glass noodles, brussel sprouts and quinoa. Not sure if this place lived up to its 4.5 rating and is barely pushing 2 stars in my opinion. The service was very good as our waitress was nice, welcoming and catered to us as much as possible. The downfall was the food overall. While we did enjoy the Mac & Cheese, everything else was below average. Our protein was burnt to crisp, and was overcooked. The broccoli was on point, but the green beans were dry and overcooked. Overall it was a disappointing experience and we hope that the food can improve because we've heard so many good things about this place. read more

I finally got permission from my wife to eat here again after everything that had happened because we heard there were new owners so I went in today and they happened to be there. They were super nice and a beautiful family btw. I'm glad they were able to keep this place open because they really do have good food and it was still delicious as always. Tried this out for my friends birthday. It was really good the Brussels sprouts were amazing

So this was the first time my dad and I came here. The idea of the place is cool and the waitress was nice. We wanted to order the shot of the day and was told to guys were out. The waitress didn't know what whiskeys you guys even carried nor was there a list of beers that were on tap. We sat upstairs and obviously can't see all the way down to the bar. We ordered the ahi tuna nachos and was pretty good for an appetizer but could use a little more toppings. For dinner we both ordered the surf and turf with an extra side of fries. Everything was so salty I'm going to wake up tomorrow like an umpa lumpa. Even my side salad was salty. Was very disappointed in the food. This was a unique menu and it was really nice to see you could together your own perfect meal. This was a healthy choice and since I just went vegan it was hard not getting anything besides tofu, but you will not be disappointed. The interior is nice and you need to see the view upstairs. We love the Upper Room!! Great customer service & food that tastes the same every time! I order the same thing, tofu, miso dressing, brussel sprouts & mashed potatoes. I request my tofu crispy & it's perfect every time. It can be a bit of a wait, but it's because everything is cooked fresh. Always a great playlist going & an overall good vibe. Our entire family has favorites on the menu. Always a good time and they will soon have alcohol. Idk process for sitting on patio, but check in at the main counter area first and let them know you'd like to sit out there. They accommodate everyone. read more

I had the weirdest experience at the Upper Room yesterday. I was really excited to try it out. My girlfriend and I met for lunch. We each brought our one year olds. They only had one high chair. But then they brought a booster, that didn't have any straps at all to hold the child in or attach to chair. We had to leave. I stopped to speak to the owner to let him know why we were leaving (no safe way to contain the kids) and he seemed.....amused? It was weird. He asked if I wanted him to go buy one right then and there... kind of sarcastically. Like we are going to wait while he runs to Target??? Their excuse was they had just opened, but it appears they have been open since at least June. So weird. Before all that went down, our server was trying to take our drink order and I asked for Coffee. She said they didn't have coffee. They had JUST got teas in, but no coffee, because-again-they had just opened. I asked her if they were planning on offering coffee (like in the future when they are more established) , and she said,"what do you mean? As for the owner, apparently he wasn't interested in hearing why he was losing potential customers. read more

Excellent food & cute atmosphere! Staff is good. Came here for my boyfriend's birthday and a few times since then, food was yummy & "home style" tasting in my opinion! Ordered the steak with sweet Thai sauce, Mac & cheese & mashed potatoes= DELICIOUS! The drinks are great also, I tried the blackberry lemonade which is my favorite and so yummy! New place in Tracy it is a nice place to eat lunch or dinner . Food is better than around the restaurants in town. Service is ok not great i expected a better service. About the pineapple drink not really good just like a cold tea flavor, needs an improvement more pineapple flavor. The place looks better than before. The reason i gave 2 stars its because of the service. Food is delicious, my order was beef it was so tender y juicy. I recently saw The Upper Room come up on my Facebook feed and saw they had some healthy options. They were closed on Sunday so I had to wait until after work on Monday. Seriously this place did not disappoint. I got the Hoisin chicken, brown rice and mixed greens. My husband got the Korean steak salad and chimichurri steak with Mac n cheese and Asian veggies. They owners were so sweet the even gave us extra sauces to try. We got salsa verde, miso, and sweet Thai chili. Everything was so delicious. It took a little while to cook but we came late so they had to make everything fresh which was fine by us. The sizes were filling and you don't feel guilty afterwords. I am definitely having them meal prep for me because they food is actually delicious. Came in for lunch to celebrate a co workers birthday, the wait was a little long however the food was well worth it my chicken pesto and Mac and cheese was amazing! The side salad came with no dressing that's really my only complaint. But I did try the sweet chili sauce and it was really yummy on the salad.
