Parking: theres a parking lot in the back and lots of street parking. Went on a Sunday PM Ambiance: it's an outdoor area with shade and water misting! That was very refreshing in the hot summer heat. Only the Vegan Nom truck was open but there are other trucks in the same spot. Everyone was very helpful and honest with helping us decide what to eat. Food: we got the trio tacos to try 3 different ones and a Birdie Sanders burrito. It was pricey running us around $27. We brought our own waters.Wish they added a little more protien. But, tasted great! Will definetly be back. read more

Wow, wow, wow! This place exceeded expectations. We ordered the fish taco, the al pastor taco, the grilled avocado taco, and the nachos with Korean BBQ "chicken." Everything was amazing! My favorite was probably the nachos, and the fish taco was the best of the 3. I love real fish tacos and this actually tasted like a fish taco. Kudos for them for nailing the flavor! Ordering was really easy and we took our food over to the Blue Owl for dinner and drinks. Plenty of napkins provided. I wish I could have turned down the napkins and that they gave receipts, but overall I can't wait to go back! read more

Where do I begin with this diamond in an unassuming food truck park on E Cesar Chavez. If you've never had vegan food or for some reason have avoided it, this....this will change you. I speak a turned man. Once did not I care for, even at times dismiss, vegan dishes. However, a vegetarian coworker took me here for lunch. A simple 5 minute walk from our common work space and there I was. In front of a gate, with 4 food trucks parked inside. Two black boulder of trucks were parked in the back. A coffee mini-streamliner on my left and opposite it a green foodtruck "guarded" by a German Shepard. I walked through waving at the dog. It did not acknowledge nor care for my presence. I was just some fool about to be enlightened. She's seen it many times. We walked to the back left black boulder. The menu seemed unassuming but full. Burritos, tacos, even burgers. Would not have blinked twice had I not known it was vegan. "Vegan eggs?" I asked, "what are they even made of?" "Not sure. Don't care," my friend replied. He walked up the gray bricks to place his order. To this day I don't know what they're made of but damn it I am addicted. read more

So glad I got to try this vegan food truck! We got a bit confused at first and ordered from the Nom Burger truck - their buffalo wings were on sugar cane sticks, reminiscent of Vietnamese vegetarian wings my family would make! Their double cheeseburger was spot on & date I say better than in n out. We eventually realized we didn't order from the Vegan Nom truck and grabbed a del Rey fish taco. Tasted like the real thing and their side sauces packed a flavorful punch. read more

The Vegan Nom is one of my absolute favorite food trucks because the food is always consistent and they have some of the best vegan grub around! Their truck is situated in a food truck park on the East side that actually also houses their sister food truck, Nom Burgers. You can either call ahead or walk-up in person to order for pick-up, and they have a good number of picnic tables to sit at if you can't wait to get home to dig-in (which chances are you won't be able to)! I love the number of options they have on the menu - from burritos to tacos to mac n cheese. This time around I ordered the KBBQ Nachos which are tortilla chips loaded with black beans, vegan queso, pico de gallo, veggies, Korean BBQ sauce and sesame seeds. The container was PACKED, it could easily feed 2 people. Highly recommend giving them a try! read more

Enter off 2nd Street to park in the lot. Not a lot of seating, but was able to find one by the time my food came out. On a Saturday afternoon it was not busy at all, but my food still took a while. I was recommended to get the KBBQ Burrito. All the flavors were there and tasted good. Though the black beans and rice were concentrated on opposite ends. I'm sure it's just because of how it was wrapped. Definitely want to get the breakfast tacos next time! read more

We had a recent quick visit to Austin and were looking to try vegan food here. We came due to the reviews on Yelp. I had the Birdie Sanders burrito, which was alright. This was actually better than I expected. I also had a vegan taco al pastor, which was also good. The taco tasted more like a "guisado" than al pastor, but that's really my only complain. read more

Dude.. So good! Hands down, best breakfast burrito I've ever had. The thing was huge and delicious! The tacos and sandwiches I saw other people eating looked great, too. They have a big courtyard with a lot of seating and some cool murals to top it off. read more

Received an email from this business calling on community to support due to low customers during the summer. Came on a Sunday in 100 degree weather to support this local business with my husband and 2 very small children to find out they are RACIST and RUDE! . We stood at the truck when we arrived and a man was inside and he didn't say anything, no greetings, or welcome. I asked if they were open after standing there for a while and he replied at 4pm. Nothing more or less with an unwelcome demeanor. We then went to another truck across the way and ordered and waited for our food in the seating area. I turned on the fan next to vegan nom because it's hot and it was plugged in. The grown man child working inside the vegan nom truck who needs a therapist walked out and snatches out the fan cord aggressively in front of my small children without saying anything. My husband asked if there was an issue and he yelled it's broken. Mind you, it was plugged in and running fine and secondly it's 100 degrees and we have small children. Lastly, we were so disturbed by the aggressive nature as if he was going to get violent because obviously NO BLACKS allowed in gentrified east side that my husband made the call for us to clear our children out of the park immediately and wait for our food in the car. I am disturbed by the uncalled for and rude aggressive behavior of the grown white man working this truck on 9/15 and I can't see how anyone could support this business with the awareness that this person handled himself like this in front of a 1 year old and 3 year old. My husband and I are educators and nonprofit workers in this community and hold deep passion for supporting our small businesses and I can't believe we were treated this way. It was so hostile I considered calling the cops like they would had a person of color handled themselves this way. read more

gimmie gimmie som noms after midnightttt kidding, they're not open that late. Tacos are absolutely DELICIOUS. It's located in a very small, food truck alley type spot alongside other vegan food trucks. The only thing I'd change (super minor) is to pack a lil heat in the salsas. read more

I never thought a taco could change my life... until I met the Three Amigos. This hearty, vegan taco was mind-blowingly good. Packed with flavor, it tasted unlike anything else I've had that's been vegan. The homemade "sausage" had great flavor and there was just enough kick in the taco to satisfy my craving for spicy food. Lucky for me, this was also the daily special, costing only $2. I also tried the mushroom, spinach and caramelized onion breakfast taco. While I enjoyed this taco as well, my personal taste would be to add-on a few more flavors to fill up the tortilla. Service was fast and friendly. It only took about 10 minutes for my lunch to be cooked and served, even with a pair of customers ahead of me. Then again, it was 3 p.m. on a Wednesday, so it was not a particularly busy time. The dining/waiting area is also very open and inviting, rounding out a very positive experience. I hope I can come back soon! read more

I'm very suspicious of 1) tacos in Austin and 2) vegan restaurants, so I didn't go in with the highest of expectations. However, the KBBQ taco and al pastor taco were so good I got suspicious that it wasn't actually vegan. Noticed someone threw half a burrito in the trash and was tempted to eat it because the food was so good. 10/10 one of my fav vegan places in Austin & will become a regular here expeditiously read more

Vegan Nom is my weekend ritual!!! I'm a creature of habit and always get the same thing, a Three Amigos add potato. SOOOOOOOOO delicious!!!! GET THE GRILLED AVOCADO TACO!!! It was mind blowing flavor. I also tried the Al pastor taco with grilled pineapple and it was very good. Their huge and two was more than enough to fill me up. Their prices were super reasonable for the great quality and service we got. The green salsa and the red chili sauce were so flavorful and have a pretty good kick to them. Totally recommend! I'm not a vegan, but we hit this place since we were in the area. Pretty good eats. The Burrito I had would in no way fool anyone that there was meat inside, but it was really tasty, with a lot of complimentary flavors in each bite. Wifey and daughter liked their eats too. And extra bonus points for the friendly German Shepherd Dog that patrols the area and gets pets from all dining there. We'll be back when we're in the area! read more

The place itself is really cool and chill. Go with friends and play a game or two. Take the kids and let them play with a hula hoop that the location has there for patrons to use and pass the time with. Enjoy the music playing over the speakers, which is always something different, and always cool. Enjoy the art on the walls and the stickers all over the front of the trailer. Hot? They've got misters to cool you down. Cold? There's a fire pit to warm you up later. And the kicker? Free beer sometimes! That's right folks, I did say FREE beer. Hell. Yes! I have very low expectations of vegan food in Austin and the first time I tried this truck, I had ordered a vegan breakfast taco and I didn't like it at all, it was under seasoned and bland. But a friend of mine recommended this place again and I decided to give them another shot. So on Saturday, I ordered the vegan brisket taco to go and the girl on the phone told me it would change my life. It sure did, the "meat" was perfectly seasoned and every bite was heaven. I LOVE THE VEGAN NOM! It took me about 1000 years to finally make it here', but only one bite to know that I was missing out on some amazing food. The queso is definitely worth trying as a dip or on the nachos. I had the nachos and added avocado and there was extra dip on the bottom. That means every chip had more than enough coverage! Made. My. Day. The tacos were filled with flavorful fake meats and the tortillas were perfectly soft and fresh. I loved the double decker taco stuffed with beans and cheese since it reminded me of the Taco Bell ones I used to eat too much. I can't wait to go back and try the rotating specials. Oh my gosh, these are delicious vegan tacos! I am very newly vegan and my husband is not at all, but we both LOVED our tacos! Everything is vegan here! This is one of the places where I would be comfortable taking my non vegetarian/vegan friends because the food makes you even wonder if it really is vegan. One of the vegan junk food places I'll add to my list along with arlos and Milky Way. Atmosphere: it's in a food truck park (along with other vegan food trucks) in east Austin. Murals are beautiful. The chicken was shredded and could've used a little more seasoning for my taste. I'm also not a huge fan of lettuce in a burrito, so that may have played a part in it not being my favorite. That being said, I'm definitely coming back because those tacos were SO good. Next time, I want to give the burrito another shot and order it my way. If it's anything like the tacos, I have a feeling it'll be a winner.

We had a reservation at 8 am right when they opened, and when we walked in, we were seated immediately. The place looks like a modern twist on the old-school diners your grandparents love. There's also an upstairs and downstairs patio. Plenty of space! We were sat at one of the two-person tables. To start, I ordered their house drip coffee while my girlfriend got their "Lil Remi," an iced cappuccino with salted caramel. The black coffee was excellent and flavorful, while my girlfriend thought her Lil Remi was like a milkier shaken espresso that she really liked. From their starters, we ordered their Blueberry Lemon Pop Tart to share. I am a sucker for a homemade Pop Tart, and the jam on the inside was extremely fresh, and the icing and crust of the Pop Tart itself was sturdy and full of flavor. For being an upscale diner in the prime area of Austin, I knew Paperboy was going to be pricey, but I honestly thought that it would crack $100 before tip between the two of us. I was very happy to see it was not even close to that and cost us about $80 with tip. To me, that felt fair for Austin, and I would pay that price any day of the week for a breakfast like we had. I started off with LOVE, LOVE, LOVING Vegan Nom and would visit it almost weekly. However, the past few months I have noticed several things turning me away from this place: 1) Consistency: I order the same thing each time and the tacos/nachos I order can vary in taste. The nachos sometimes are too dry, sometimes the chips are stale and sometimes just tastes off. My tacos can vary in being either too spicy, too greasy or too salty. 2) Cleanliness: It is pretty gross to order food when the person handling my food is wearing really, really short shorts. It is unappetizing. Also, the aprons/clothes look not clean. I am all for personal expression in attire, but, it should be clean in a food establishment. I also find finger nails/ hands to look dirty at times. There is debris and garbage around the tables. And, there are way too many flies and bees around the food. 3) Wait time: It should not take over an hour to get tacos. The longest wait time I had for 2 tacos was 1 hour and 45 minutes. I tried to change the time I arrived (around 2-3 pm) in hopes that the crowd would thin out resulting in less wait time. In most cases, this did not help. I never understood how Vegan Nom was staffed to create this issue. I understand each order is prepared fresh upon order, but really...over an hour for 2 tacos??? 4) When I come on weekends, there is a gentleman who plays the guitar way too loud. I am all about ambience and music while eating, but please turn it down. Often, I can not even hear the person next to me because the music is too loud. I will probably go to Vegan Nom only a few more times in hopes that some of these issues are addressed, because I do want to continue my love for this place. If not, I may need to reconsider. I have never been the type of person to write a review, but my recent terrible experience at The Vegan Nom has inspired me to warn unsuspecting vegans. I had heard very good things about this trailer, and had been wanting to try it for a while. Last Sunday, I decided to give it a try; I really wish I hadn't. I have to say the guy that took my order was rude, and either extremely high or mentally challenged. He seemed to know nothing about vegan food, or the menu. I ordered a Tex-Mex and a Migas taco, and though there was nobody else waiting it took twenty two minutes to get them. The whole time I was waiting, I could here another worker (he had a beard) griping about not being able to find something. It really added to my feeling I was putting them out by ordering food at their food trailer. When I did finally get my food, it was dropped on a table in front of me by the same arrogant guy that took my order. Though the food sounded interesting on the menu, it looked like partially-digested mush, and was soaked in oil, which literally dripped out of the tacos as I ate it. The food, besides being an oily mush, is schizophrenic. I'm not sure when I've tasted anything that my palette couldn't understand more. It wouldn't surprise me to find out the oily sauces on the tacos were made up of 100+ ingredients. Also, I'm not quite sure, but either the tofu had gone bad, or the whole taco was purposely meant to have a rotten odor. I had two bites of one taco and one of the other, and that was more than enough to make me feel sick to my stomach all day. Been a fan of this truck for several years, however, when I dropped by last time to order a couple of tacos to go, I stood there for a good 10+ minutes in plain sight being completely ignored and forced to listen to the girl with the crooked teeth and Municipal Waste shirt manning the order window exchange food truck industry stories with her buddies. I finally blurted "excuse me, but are you open?" to which her friends immediately looked at me, stepped aside and apologized, but homegirl just stood there with her mouth open and an "eat sh*t and die" look on her face. I mean, how dare I interrupt her important conversation, right? I admit, I got a little feisty with her afterwards only because I was so upset that she just couldn't be bothered with my existence even though her job is to serve customers. I decided this person wasn't worth my time or energy so I left on her account. Hopefully the owner will read this and consider hiring staff that want to be there and serve customers and do away with people like this who only hurt their business. read more

When visiting Austin, I had an idea of what great vegan Tex Mex tacos might be. This place ticked all the boxes! My favorites were the breakfast taco with sausage and tofu scramble and the Taco Bell-style double decker taco. My order took 20+ minutes but it was well worth it. I also thought this tacos were exceptionally stuffed with ingredients for the price. I'm used to skimpy tacos, I guess. My only complaint is the same complaint I have for many vegan establishments in Austin, and that's the food truck culture. It was windy and in the low 50s during this trip, and I was super cold while waiting 20+ minutes... plus there was not an easy way to use the bathroom or wash my hands. I wish Austin had more brick and mortar vegan establishments. but that's my own thing. Not taking off a star for it as I knew what I was getting myself into. I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian, but love this place for its food, and the tacos are to die for! You won't even miss the meat or dairy. I read the reviews about the wait staff and was ready to be confronted by someone with a rather a surly attitude, but it must have been a good day for the staff because they were decent. It is highly likely the owners of this truck are wizards. This isn't just a great vegan taco truck...it is a great taco truck. Even if you aren't vegan you will love this place. We got the nachos (which were HUGE), three taco basket, and a large chips and "queso." This may have become our favorite place to eat in Austin. We've been here a few times, and there's one word to describe the food: flavorful. I never miss eating meat when I dine here. We had the KBBQ Tacos and the Del Rey Fish Tacos, and both were exceptional. In the past, I've tried their KBBQ Nachos, which are also out of this world. I've had mixed experiences with these guys. The tacos are pretty alright, but I find it best to modify them to your liking as the combination of flavors can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. I've learned to ask for sauces on the side, and add them sparingly myself, but don't be surprised when they tell you to do it yourself when you get there, lol. read more

Eventually, we figured it out and walked up to the counter and took a menu. We went during the last hour that they were open between 7 to 8 PM. The place was bumping. The prices aren't too bad. I can definitely see myself returning to this place. I'm not huge into the fake meat stuff, but I will eat it every once in a while. All in all, this was a good experience, and I believe we'll be back!

I ordered a vegan burger and really enjoyed it, which made me curious to come back and try more items from their menu. My second visit was for a late lunch after a long drive back from San Antonio. Unlike my first visit, which was on a weekend, this was a Friday afternoon. Parking was more difficult this time since the daycare lot next door was full. I eventually found a spot near the food trucks, but it's something to keep in mind depending on the day and time. It was a particularly hot day, and I had planned to grab my food to go and eat in the car while taking a call. There weren't many customers around, but I got in line right after a group that had placed a large order. It looked like there was only one person working in the truck, so the service was understandably slow. I was getting pretty hungry and a little impatient--especially as I overheard the group jokingly trying to get the worker to stop and come sit with them, even though he clearly had other orders to take care of. That felt a bit inconsiderate. After about a 20-minute wait, I finally got my order: a vegan crunchwrap with fries. I ate it in the car and thoroughly enjoyed it. The crunchwrap had a lot of soy crumbles, which was fine, but I think it could've used more sauce to balance it out and enhance the flavor. Overall, despite the wait and minor frustrations, I'll definitely keep coming back to Revolution Vegan Kitchen. Running a fully vegan food business--especially in Austin, where you'd think vegan spots would thrive--isn't easy, so I want to support them whenever I can. That said, I do hope service can be a little more efficient in the future.
