Great little cafe. Big portion sizes and decent pricing. The owner is very nice, and the daily specials are always the best in my opinion.

The specials and soups are almost infallibly very good. Much recommended for the workers at the Crossroads camps.

Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. The kitchen sink cookie and guava lemonade were stars on their own. I got to meet the Gigi's owner who was so friendly as well! I'm excited to visit their brick and mortar and make my way through their menu.

If your navigation takes you down a small ramp, you are in the wrong area. Let's talk about the shop now, the inside is a bit small but it isn't lacking in heart one bit. There was one place to place your order but I think there might be two overall. You can take a peek and watch as the team makes your sandwiches. Gigi's even makes free lunches for those in the community that are having a tough time. I think that's really cool that this place is able to serve the community in this way. As for the food, I ordered the "Chipotle is my life". As a "city kid" there was always something about a classic deli sandwich from the corner store that just always hits and at Gigi's I got the same nostalgia feeling. The sandwich was great, bread wasn't soggy from the spread and it had great flavor! A nice spin on a classic turkey and cheese. The wait time was pretty quick so that's definitely a plus. I think the best part about all of this is you can take your sandwich and eat very close to the water if you wanted to. Albeit a bit out of the way, this will be my go to spot when I want a deli sandwich.

This will be an unorthodox first review. I wanted to try out this place advertised on Too Good To…read moreGo which was for a sopresa (surprise). I'm going to review the food here as if this is what I intended to order, not my TGTG experience. I got an 8-inch pastrami sandwich and a romaine lettuce garden salad. Pastrami sandwich had good quality and tasty dutch crust bread. There was a generous amount of meat. I didn't like the American cheese. I would never order it at a restaurant for a sandwich; it's for grilled cheese or burgers (and even then I avoid). The sandwich had mayo and chopped lettuce. Overall, the sandwich was good - a neatly done, standard cold pastrami sandwich with good bread. The salad had nice presentation: fresh, chopped romaine, carrot sticks, sliced purple onion, cherry tomatoes, and dressing). But again, it was a standard salad I could make at home. We arrived from 101N to El Camino which required an unprotected left on 21st so I recommend a different route. There was ample parking. The location looks kind of industrial, which can have its own charm - sort of like NY vibes. The entrance looked like a backdoor entrance and there didn't appear to be restaurant seating - no tables and chairs. There was a chair, but not for eating at. Or maybe I missed it if there was an area to eat. From my first experience, this seems like a takeout hole-in-the-wall. It reminded me of a bakery in Modesto that was known only by word-of-mouth which only had take-out baked goods. I docked a star because it currently does not have an ADA-compliant entrance. They could install a ramp or maybe a button for service and a sign with braille if it's just a take-out place. Why does it matter? It's federal law. Any business open to the public must be accessible to people disabilities. Otherwise, that's discrimination against people with disabilities and you can be sued if you are non-compliant. I had family who became wheelchair-bound so it's something that I take notice of. I plan on returning to try out the Peruvian offerings.

The Good We shared a patty melt with onion rings. The burger was cooked to perfection. It was juicy and flavorful. The grilled onions were perfect, the bread was toasted exactly right, and the grilled onions made it exceptional. The onion rings were crispy and flavorful. The ranch dressing for dipping was yummy. My wife is a Diet Coke aficionado, but they don't carry it. She gave the Salaam Cola a try and was blown away, saying it was better than Diet Coke. I tried it and don't think I could distinguish it from Diet Coke in a blind taste test. I got the berry hibiscus tea which was exactly what I needed on a warm day. The Bad The juicy, saucy burger was so good that we each needed more than one napkin each. It was that good. Total minor point. Summary You need to get in here to try them out. It was our first visit and will definitely not be our last. Support this local business because these are the kind, passionate, life giving business owners that put out exceptional products all of us should support.

So today's 1/5, leaves me to give a 2/5 overall.
