I want to know why people gave this such a low rating, must have ordered the wrong items. I will admit that the host looked like she didn't want to be there and kinda even ignored that we were standing in front of her asking to be seated. The waitress made up for it tho. We went here before a rave, and it was the perfect pre raging meal. The portions are definitely American portions = HUGE. You get your monies worth lol. I had the Buffalo cauliflower appetizer, and they gave me a whole head of cauliflower and it was delicious. I even got to eat it after the rave their was soo much. My friend got the bruschetta pizza, it was SO GOOD and I am pretty particular when it comes to crust. My other friend got the fish tacos and seafood bisque. The chips that come with the tacos *chefs kiss* The water in the bathroom was scalding hot so hope you got that fixed. The food is amazing here, the staff is super cool and friendly, and there's arcade games all around! (it's just a little awkward because the games are scattered and pretty much ON TOP of the dining area... they should have separated the eating and gaming areas) but anywayyy.... THE FOOD!!!! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. We started off with wings. We got the grilled jim beam maple and the bbq. The wings were crispy and smothered with sauce! They were both OUTSTANDING but I liked the bbq more. Get the wings you will not regret it! The menu is amazing (I posted it for y'all). There are SO many great options. A few items that stood out to me include: tater tot poutine, seafood Mac & cheese, spaghetti squash primavera, and the Fish Reuben. It was hard to choose, but I ended up going with the fish Reuben because that's what our waiter recommended. It was delish! It's breaded white fish with jalapeño-pineapple coleslaw, swiss cheese and remoulade on grilled rye bread. I could only finish half of it. It was huge. My friends split a pizza and they said it was some of the best pizza they ever had. It was wicked cheesy and looked really good. Updating my review as recently I came in with a bachelorette group and ordered pizza and wings for a table of like 15. The food came out pretty quick and I must say it was the best pizza I've had in a long time. The wings were also amazing. The service is typically hit or miss still. When we showed up and said we had a reservation for 15 they said they only had it down for 7. They still were able to accommodate us which was great. So this place wasn't that bad. I took my family to watch my MMA gym compete in a Jiu-Jitsu tournament and hit up The Ward for some grub. The restaurant encircles a stage for various performances and has an accessible bar with various tables and chairs to enjoy. The outdoor area where we sat was a bit cramped. The tables are a bit small and square that made us consolidate a lot of plates and things to fit. If you have a stroller, wheelchair, or anything large, you might find dining -- and not getting bumped or someone's butt in your face (or food) while leaving their table -- interesting. Our server was nice and attentive, and the food didn't take forever and a day which was nice (lol). Both my husband and I ordered salads that hit the spot, and our children had a hot dog and grilled cheese sandwich. (The grilled cheese was on a thick white bread and was supppper good.) I can see us coming back if we're ever in the area. ... But we'll definitely eat inside. read more

So sad because we have been curling here once a week for 2 years. We've had ample opportunity to sample most items on the menu. Rarely will you get a satisfactory meal. The tater-tot poutine is pretty good, soups, house salad are good. Most food items are sub-standard and the service is rarely good. I said RARELY! In a restaurant that has no less than 200 seats inside, with only about 25 people in the whole place, I was chastised that I should call ahead for reservations! With all that said, this place has to be seen. At 6:00pm there may be a yoga class to watch. Afterward, move outside for a kids hockey game and curling leagues. I've always heard people rave about going to Riverworks. I had never been there and was curious. It did not live up to expectations, in terms of food and service. The location is cool though. The food is overpriced for what it is. A children's meal is almost $9, which I find ridiculous, given the size and quality. We ordered a pizza, as it was the most reasonably priced menu option. It was ok. The crust reminded me of frozen pizza. The sauce was decent but the rest of it just said freezer pizza. It took forever to get our food. It was a Sunday and there were not a lot of people there. It was probably 45 minutes. The pizza was also luke warm, by the time it came out. If a pizza isn't burn your mouth hot, it has probably been sitting for a while. The server never refilled our drinks or was around to even ask if we needed a refill. One meal was dropped on the ground and we were told it would be at least another 20 minutes to replace it, which I find absolutely ridiculous. Who wants to eat at that point? Also, half to 3/4 of the menu was unavailable. Why have a menu, if you don't have the food? I probably won't be returning, unless someone else wants to go. I would give 1 star but the atmosphere is redeeming. This is a missed opportunity for dining. read more

Not super impressed but not disappointed either. Very average restaurant in my opinion. The service was a little slow on a Friday but it was busy. I wasn't very impressed with the bar selection either - no Tito's! The group ordered the banana pepper dip which was good but just not a wow appetizer. My entree was the turkey club wrap with fries. It was a decent size and the fries were crispy and perfectly cooked. I did like the wrap a lot, a good ratio of turkey and lettuce, and fresh ingredients. Overall, I don't know that I wouldn't go back but it wouldn't be a top choice. I think a lot of the draw is the location - but there was no seating outside to enjoy the water view. read more

Service is slow 5 times that Ive been here in 1 year. The don't have a wine menu, so you have to ask at the bar, even when you're at a table. Excuse was they change it often. Racist staff, they refused to serve food and beverages to our party because we were Asian. I overheard 2 servers talking and calling us chinks. Not a family friendly place and I am extremely infuriated by the hate me and my family received. When the manager was called he said "I don't care either you stay and eat your food or leave without it. We will not be giving any refunds." We were denied the patio seating @theward saying that there is an hour wait while they seated other group who came in much later without any wait list. I only know this for sure because I went to the patio on seeing so many empty seats and asked the group who were same number as us if they put their names on a "wait-list". They said no , and told me that they just walked right in and were seated outside. Even though the website says first come first serve so I am not sure if that's even possible to have a wait list. Not sure why the service is so poor at this place as I read many such reviews. It's a waterfront restaurant and lot of people have high expectations at such location and so did we. We were group of 5 Indian girls who were decked up and were celebrating the bday only to be treated unfairly and rudely at this place. It was really hurting and hit us hard as we love buffalo and support local ! I am a foodie, blogger and teach cooking classes and love to explore the new places. Ordered the spaghetti squash entree. Food was not hot and ingredients did not bear any resemblance to the menu description. "roasted vegetables" were a few limp steamed mixed veggies. "Cajun shrimp" was plain old unseasoned shrimp. Overall the dish was seriously lacking any flavor at all. We didn't complain at the time - our server was too busy. There are definite perks of eating here. The view from the patio is stunning and the tater tot poutine will truly rock your world! The server was very attentive to us and there wasn't a wait which was great. The drinks menu is a little more barren than I would normally like, but there was still enough to satisfy most tastes. However the biggest letdown came when the sun set. There were SO many spiders surrounding our table and as a couple who both fear spiders it wasn't the greatest end to our evening dinner. So if you're an arachnophobe I'd suggest coming well before sunset or sitting inside! read more

Upon arriving after a wonderful historical buffalo boat tour, we were able to be seated in approximately 15 min. Beautiful view of the water and atmosphere. That was the only good thing about our whole experience. We were seated and ordered our food, our waiter came up to us at least 4 times to tell us he was sorry about the delay of our food. He then tells us that 2 of the drinks we ordered would be free because of the wait. How nice, well, we waited about an 1hr and 15 min. Still no food. I finally told our waiter that we were leaving, he apologized and brought us our check. However he forgot to remove the food off of our bill. Again he apologized and went to get the bill adjusted, didn't come back for awhile so we left cash for our drinks on the table and left! Horrible experience, disappointed to say the least. Called to make reservations for 7 on the patio. Was told they couldn't guarantee the patio, but if space was available when we arrived we would be seated there. Arrived on time and mentioned at the desk we had reservations for the patio (which was empty). She grabbed a napkin, walked us to the closest indoors table and slapped the napkin down, making the table of 6 one for 7. Nothing was said to explain why we were not going outside. When I asked, she said they do not have seating for 7 outside. (?) There were several tables for 6, 4, and 2--all empty--outside. Simple metal picnic-style tables...we were speechless. And embarrassed. We chose this restaurant as a treat for visitors from Switzerland because we have been there before and loved it. The indoors table was right near a LOUD speaker, so I went back to the reception (?!) desk and asked if we could please move two tables together so we could be outside where it was quieter. I got an eye roll and an exasperated approval. The men in our group started to move the tables, but the 2nd woman at the desk came out and said "I'll do it myself" and started making a big show of how much it inconvenienced her. No eye contact or attempt to make us feel welcome. I would have left, but our visitors were being kind and gracious, so we stayed. The waitress and food were great, so we were glad we stayed; however, the rocky start on a very quiet Sunday when the inside had one table of 4 diners and the outside had 6 people total, left us feeling disappointed.
