Excellent service and great food! Maybe I'm just used to NY prices, but I was so impressed at how cheap everything on the menu is while still being good quality. My boyfriend and I shared a Caesar salad, which came out already split into two plates for us. The Whiskey burger was yummy and came with deliciously battered fried onions and bacon, and the burger was cooked perfectly. The crab cake sandwich with remoulade sauce was surprisingly flavorful, and the crab cake was meaty with actual chunks of crab meat in it, which I wasn't expecting at all for $12! Their slaw was pretty good but could have used a little more flavor. We had both the sweet potato fries and seasoned fries, and although both were tasty we liked the sweet potato ones more. They have free drink refills also. The only thing I didn't like was their house bbq sauce, which was too sweet and not smoky enough for me. It didn't even taste like bbq sauce. The service here is excellent. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive with a great personality. The food came out lightning fast, and everything was nice and hot. We were consistently checked on throughout the meal. The check was brought out in a timely fashion and payment was processed quickly. They have a well-sized bar area, which was pretty busy when we walked in. We liked the atmosphere as it didn't have a divey sports bar feel. Their large roomy booths are the best since we always sit next to each other when going out to eat. We will definitely return when we're back in the area! read more

The best place in VA Beach. The beer cheese and pretzels I would order and have shipped if I had to. The fish and chips were a home run. Oh yeah and great local beer too. First visit to Whiskey Kitchen. Wait was 25 to 35 minutes when we arrived. Was shocked when the Hostess said she'f come and find me when it was time. I was a little hesitant but she really did! The bar was attentive. Atmosphere was vibrant. She crab soup was almost the best I've ever had. I had the beet arugula salad. I added a crabcake with absolutely no fillers. It was surprisingly amazing. I truly expected the rib and chicken place. Very pleasantly surprised. On the pricey side but very much worth your trip. Will come again! The good was pretty good, although lacking in sauce. The ranch was to die for, as was the chocolate chip bread pudding. I would go back, but leave the kids at home. Love this place. Owner is extremely friendly and customer oriented. After the first time I went I thought I had a problem with my bill, I called, talked to the owner who immediately started to figure out the problem. After I realized I was just an idiot, we both laughed about it, and he asked me to introduce myself the next time I was there. Well, just so happens I did, and just so happens he bought all 4 of us a round! Food is great, never have been disappointed with my choice, the pretzel is amazing. Tap Takeovers is my favorite part of this place, most Tuesday nights a different craft brewery is represented with staff and beers on tap. You order one of the night's brewery's beer you get a pint glass to take home from that brewery! Great opportunity to meet the brewers and try some beers from a brewery that might not be distributed as well to our area. Bottom line is go to Whiskey Kitchen. read more

Don't know why this place isn't more crowded, the food is fantastic, the beer selection is huge, and the staff is super friendly. They always encourage trying a sample of their beers, too. Plus, most of their stuff is local, and it's family friendly. read more

Although it can get busy at times, the staff do work quickly to get a table/booth set up. The Pungo Pizza was delicious as well as the homemade key lime pie! Not to mention, the hubby and I had such a charming waitress, Rachel! She really knew the menu, made fantastic local beer recommendations and made our dining experience a delight! From New York, stopped down there for lunch (same menu) at the end of my ride to Virginia Beach. Wait staff was pleasant, even during the lunch rush as we sat there for awhile to have a few cocktails. Their custom drink menu was fun, but simplistic enough. The food was excellent. We got the fried cauliflower for an app, and she had the Whiskey Kitchen burger while I had the crispy Salmon. First time here while taking a day trip to Virginia Beach. It has a nice pub feel with a mix of bar feel and family friendly atmosphere. We started off with the crab soup, which is a great price considering the amount of crab meat in the soup. I had the short ribs which was a perfect serving and perfectly tender. The whole staff, including our server (who I cannot remember the name of, short and blonde, Rylee?) was very good at making you feel welcome and wanting you to have an amazing experience! Came here for our friends birthday on 12/8/18. Before even getting greeted for drinks, the owner came over and told us to to tone it down. We are in a group of 15 with 4 children so, naturally, we are going to be a little loud. It's a loud restaurant and we have to talk over everyone. Our server, food and drinks were all great! While we were getting our tabs when the owner came back over and said, "I already told her to F****** tone it down." I do not care how loud a table is you do not EVER say that to guest. read more

LOVE this place. I'm gluten free due to digestive issues. They have GF Bread and Pizza options as well as other dishes marked as such. I liked them so much I had dinner one night (gf crabcakes!) and came back for lunch the next day for a sandwich. The place is packed at night and the bar was full, but they found me a seat (just me) at a table right away. I know some larger parties were waiting - but good food usually brings crowds. Lunch was at the bar (a nice, good sized bar) with fast and attentive bartenders - even though I was only drinking ice tea. This is on my list of places to go when I am back in Virginia Beach, which is every few months. Look forward to trying out more items on their menu. read more

Above and beyond customer service. We were out of town visiting and ordered 2 entrees and an extra side. What came out was one entree, one sandwich, and a side as a substitute, as opposed to extra. When I told the food runner, they took it back and apologized. When my food came out, our waitress apologized, and then the kitchen manager came out to apologize and comp our bill. We ALWAYS get the whiskey burger. it's the best burger we have ever had . it's juicy and the onion straws are cooked perfectly. we come here at least 3 times a week for their burger and seasoned fries . you should also try the street tacos and the buffalo and parmigiana cauliflower bites. and the young veterans pineapple grenade beer. thanks WK read more

Dropped in on a Saturday afternoon. Seating was readily avail and host staff was friendly. We ordered the Pretzel and Pub Cheese for an app and was really impressed with the size and taste of the Pretzel. The cheese tasted good, although it could have been heated a bit more as it got cold and thick fast. We got the Chicken pot pie as our entree and I must say it was very good. Not like a standard pot pie but more like a thick chicken stew with a flakey pastry on top. It wasn't what I expected, and the "stew" could have been a bit thicker, but the flavor was really good. This is one of the few places where I am a bit of a regular. I've probably been there 100 times. They are VERY consistent. Good service, good food, good drink selection. Great atmosphere. Family friendly (if you are into that.... kids suck) but hang out by the bar side and it's a great spot to meet friends for drink. Great appetizers and entrees. Very decent prices. Whiskey kitchen had a nice look and appeal to it. It's location is also ideal for people looking for a new spot in that area of Virginia Beach. Upon arriving we received very wet nasty reused paper menus which was very disappointing considering COVID. You would think they would upgrade to mobile menus or have clean new paper menus for each table. We sat outside considering we had a particularly warm day in December. While outside I noticed they had space heaters up above the door which I asked the waitress if they could turn on to help with the breeze outside. She informed me that they did not work and were basically just there. Again disappointing. The menu prices were pretty average and nothing particular popped out on the menu to me. I had the strawberry fields salad topped with shrimp. It was very delicious. Our food and drinks came out in a decent time. Service was okay.I don't think I'd be willing to take such a long drive for just average service and food again. read more
