So at 11am serving dinner! Ridiculous no one informed us about this change. Along with them pulling the brunch menu they were out of quite a few things. So unorganized and very inconsiderate to their guests that decided to visit your establishment, which is normally closed on Sundays but decided to be open and unprepared for the brunch service. They should've just stayed closed and not have waisted our time! Never going back! read more

I visited The Woolworth with my children and grandson, who flew into town to celebrate my birthday. While the food was generally okay, the drinks that night were disappointing. We didn't finish them or ask for a remake because our waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed and ready to end her shift. I ordered the Grilled Halibut with wild rice vegetable pilaf, grilled asparagus, roasted red pepper coulis, pea-shoot pesto, and lobster, which was very tasty. Other dishes ordered included the Butcher's Burger, which was good, the lobster mac and cheese, which was too salty, and the steak sandwich, which was also good. For dessert, we had the Grilled Pound Cake for my birthday. Overall, the food was decent, but the drinks and service left something to be desired. read more

We made a reservation for Saturday at 5:30 PM, and I'm so glad we did! This place was busy, buzzing, and I can completely understand why. The atmosphere was fantastic; it truly sounded and felt like everyone dining there was having a great time. The food and service were equally impressive. From the moment we arrived, the hostess, our waiter Colin, and the management were all incredibly welcoming and fun. The food was perfect--we each selected a different handheld sandwich (the menu has great options!), and there was barely a crumb left. We also really appreciated the perfect timing of everything. We had tickets for a show that started at 7:30 PM and made it without ever feeling rushed. The Woolworth is a true gem in Dallas. We are all looking forward to the next time we dine here! read more

9/10 this place was great. Highly recommend! We had reservations, but they were a little behind when we arrived so we sat at the bar for drinks first. They have an extensive cocktail list, with ingredients I couldn't even pronounce, and wasn't sure what I would like. The bartender explained the drink I was looking at and said if I didn't like it, he'd make me something else. Bonus points for options. The drink "Black Magic" is their take on a Manhattan. I usually go for an old fashioned, but this was a very good drink. Definitely some deep spice to it tho, (not hot spice but flavor spice). We ordered the crab nachos. So good. For some reason, I expected like Mexican nachos with queso. This was not that. They were served on tarot chips which are my favorite vegetable chip. And then fresh ingredients on top. Think more sushi. Presentation is everything. I had the halibut. It was decent portion and the flavors meshed really well. Still trying to figure out what was in the cream sauce. My friend ordered the scallops and fries. She was worried the scallops wouldn't be enough food so she ordered th fries, but kept mentioning how hearty the scallops, and their accompaniments were. There was one small snafu where entree and drink took longer to get there, but hardly worth mentioning because they handled it well and comped the drink for being delayed. In town for a brief weekend and found this restaurant on yelp. We had a fabulous lunch with wonderful service. Samantha made sure we were well informed about our choices on the menu. I really liked this restaurant. Kind of like upscale food meats dive bar ambiance. And I mean that as a total compliment. We were going to a show at the Majestic down the street, so the location was perfect. Started with drinks for my wife and I - the That's Wheat She Said for my wife and the Mule Kick for me. Both liked them a lot. For a starter, we split the Lobster Rangoon Spring Rolls. Filled with flavor, generous on the lobster and well cooked. Two different sauces on the side with the two of us each preferring a different one. My wife had the Crab Cake Sandwich for her main. It is huge, filling an entire lobster roll. While the crab cakes themselves were prepared perfectly, what really set this apart was the tomato, rocket, sriracha aioli that were used to dress it. She could only eat half, but the other half made an excellent next day meal. I tried Prawns & Polenta. Of all of the variations of shrimp and grits style meals I have had over the years, this one was one of the top ones. Great flavor to the shrimp grilled with coffee crust & cajun spice. That description scared me at first, but final flavor was exceptional. The cajun spice was forward of the two, but not overpowering or too hot, and the coffee crust seemed to hit the smell more than the tastebuds, creating a unique sensory exploration that I really enjoyed. Polenta was good, as was the spinach, red onion and pancetta. For a side, we split the roasted baby carrots. Again, perfectly prepared. And, really splurging we ordered a rare for us dessert - a Basque Cheesecake - which was also very good. As you can tell, I have nothing but positives to say about The Woolworth. Side note, it is upstairs on a second floor, so the people watching down the street was fun. read more
