Spent $25 on a steak salad full of gristle. I ended up with half a plate full of chewed up spit out steak. My friend, who ordered the same thing, was spitting her steak out into a napkin. The management tried to rectify the situation by comping one round of drinks. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Dallas = good steak. Do not go here if you're looking for good steak. Dedicated Friers GF French fries and Calamari. Lots of appetizer and dinner options. They have more than Crème Brûlée for dessert. Cheese cake!!! Large shareable portions. Absolutely no reaction or issues. Dinner for two (1 Lg bottle of water 9.00, 3 drinks, 1 appetizer, 2 steaks, 2 sides and 1 dessert 200.00) we definitely could have shared 1 steak and 1 side. I don't get out much Carl made me feel like I was very welcomed I have social anxiety not once did I feel like I needed to get up and leave. he advised me of the mimosa trio that was $25 I just looked at the mimosas with a two flavor limit for $30 didn't think anything of it the steak and eggs were amazing. We were advised by "VisitDallas" not to come here, maybe just for cocktails. We arrived and had to wait a bit of time for our reservation time. Our seat was incredibly close to the table next to us and their server had a hard time getting her butt between the tables. Our server towards the end told us he is also a manager. He asked us for our cocktail orders and an appetizer. The appetizer never came. He did comp us a free cocktail at the end of the night. My wife got prawns and polenta and I went with lobster grilled cheese. The food was good, I'm sure the appetizer would have been, but our server/manager said something about a runner messing it up and thats the second time tonight... Weird that he would be telling us how flawed their service is. I could tell on my own, because getting this guys attention was difficult. Maybe they don't have enough staff, but even when he asked about dessert menus, he was gone for over ten minutes. We made eye contact as he was walking back to our table and then he turned to the host desk, to grab the menus for us. Just witnessing that, this guy had to have forgotten to put in the appetizers. I liked that we were staying downtown and this was downtown. Didn't have to drive anywhere. Do I regret not listening to the VisitDallas team? No, I didn't want to drive anywhere. Wow! What a nice surprise the Woolworth was during my last visit to Dallas. Whenever I travel I try to do some research on good restaurants for dinner and drinks and the Woolworth was on my hit list. We needed a good place to kick off the night and Woolworth was exactly what the Dr. ordered. Great space, no reservation required, and definitely an impressive menu for both a good meal and drinks. My group was a bit hesitant to stay but I persuaded them to trust the process. We sat at the bar and Noel greeted us immediately with a rundown on drinks while we browsed through the options. After the first round of drinks and some interested items and recommendations we logged in! Lobster Rangoon Spring Roll 6/5 Literally 6 out of 5. Delicious. We ordered a second round. So good! Nana's Toast 5/5 Short rib was so flavorful and the onion strings were a nice touch Lobster Grilled Cheese 4/5 Not the biggest fan of grilled cheeses but this was a deliciously rich and decadent adult take on the popular dish Calamari 3.5/5 Also very good, but not the star of the night All in all, our group had a great experience and stayed for nearly 2 hours (whoops) with our new friend Noel providing top tier service across the board. Their cocktails are overly complicated, not for anyone who appreciates the actual spirit used as it falls to the background. Service: good but pushy; it's a constant attempt to up charge. Value: the menu focuses on up charging as well. Example: a handheld sandwich will have an up charge for fries or any other side. A pasta dish will have an up charge for your protein of choice. I had a reservation for my birthday dinner here. We had to wait a few minutes for our table to be cleared. We were seated and our server dropped by saying she would be right back. After waiting 10 minutes, the manager came over and poured us water. After waiting another 10 minutes our server still had not shown up so we put in our order with another server nearby. Still no word from our server. Our food came out 45 minutes later and both of our steak were VERY under cooked. We tried to find our server could we could not. We had already been waiting an hour and had plans for later in the night so we just ate our very under cooked steaks. Our server finally showed up as we were finishing to ask how everything was. It took an hour and 15 minutes to get our food and it was not prepared properly. Couldn't find our server to get it fixed. Sent $140 on 2 under cooked steaks to have the privilege of being straight up ignored by our sever. This is unquestionably the worst service I have experienced at a restaurant in years and if you are looking to celebrate a special occasion I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere just so the Woolworth doesn't ruin your night read more
