5 stars for the burgers. I haven't actually tried their other food because I just keep getting burgers, that's how delicious they are.

The food here is great. I've had everything here, from the cheeseburger, to the lobster roll, to the clam chowder. The one problem, I have with the Yardarm Restaurant, is how they have a waiting area, only for people above 21 years old. I understand that bars have rules that people have to be, 21 or older. But at the Yardarm, a restaurant (not just a bar), the waiting area is a bar. When you walk in to the yardarm, on both sides of the entrance, there are waiting areas. On the left is a real bar with a bartender and drinks. On the other side, there are just tables, where people 21 or older are allowed to wait. But the tables here were considered part of the bar. The yardarm restaurant, does not provide a space for minors to wait. Therefore, a minor must wait outside, under all circumstances. I came here on a Monday Night, with my mother, and son. My mother and I were allowed to come in to the restaurant, to the bar. My son, who is 13, was stopped by the owner and she made him go outside a wait in the rain. My son only wanted to play on his phone inside, but the owner made him go outside and wait in the rain. Because of this, I was forced to leave my 84 year old mother at the bar, in order to accompany my son. The wait was 30 minutes, and this is unfair, unprofessional, and rude. Went to the Yardarm restaurant tonight. Although I grew up down in Orleans, I had never been there. It is a frequent place my sisters have liked to go to over the years. Two Stars, yeah, pretty bad, due to the skimpiest Fried Fishermans platter I have ever ordered in my life. Literally, they gave me 3 tiny clams, and I mean tiny, 3 scallops, and 3 shrimp. The fish portion was ok but I've gotten a lot better off Cape. Maybe it's because I live off Cape now and I'm used to good food with good portions and this place figures it can make a killing serving small portions to tourists in the summer. My sisters dinners looked ok and one of my sisters got the fisherman's platter as well and received more clams. WTF. Well, this was my 1st time there and I'm guessing with all the other places around this will be my last time there. Thought I would give an old establishment a try but it didn't pan out. Very rude workers and poor service! My family and I are residents at the cape and we went in on Saturday night 7/29. It wasn't busy at all inside and we decided to get a drink at the bar while we waited for a table. The bar tenders completely ignored us. One of them was drinking a soda right in front of me as I tried to put in an order. read more

We got take out before heading to the drive in. The lobster sandwich was great, the soup dynamite (we got the clam chowder and seafood chowder) , and a pork chop which was cooked perfectly. Casual, pub with friendly staff. read more

Good lunch food, charming service. Surprisingly empty at noon on a Sunday. They make their own root beer, and it's fantastic!

This place has been tuning and adjusting since the early '70s. It still uses the same high-quality suppliers - namely Chatham Fish and Lobster, Stoney Island Sea Farms, Gary's (now his son's -) Ultimate Produce. If you are expecting 5 minute service, go away: if you relish very good food, a cold draught of ale, the crossword puzzle, crayons and diversions for your grandchildren, and so-much-better food and service at a fair price, the Yardarm is for you. Great old time Cape seafood. I had baked scrod, baked scallops and Fried Clams. All equally good. The best onion rings/ straws in a very long time. From receptionist to waitresses the staff could not be nicer or more welcoming. Also quite a cast of characters at the bar. read more

We ate here last week. Excellent meal. We had the specials, lobster rolls, and prime rib. I eat a lot of lobster rolls when back in New England and his was a favorite. Tons of lobster, no filler and minimal if any? Mayonnaise. Delicious!!! And the price was right. My husband had the prime rib, and he was thrilled. I went there for fish and chips but ended up eating a lot of other stuff which was one of the best!!!! It was very yummy!!!! What I loved was ofcourse the fish and chips, after a long long time I had such yummy buffalo wings and their garlic bread was totally homemade. I'd go there again and would recommend to everyone. The downside was, the service speed wasn't great. Once the person served you she did not come back asking if we needed anything else. This was something I did not like. One of the worst restaurants I've even been! Service was lousy and unfriendly to adults and kids. Waited forever to be seated and to order food. Messed with the checks. And it was not a rush-hour. My kid kicked off his crocks at the table and host asked to put them on. At the table. A/C was making us all uncomfortable - too cold. Food. Well, at least none of us got sick after all. That's a plus. Clam chowder and seafood chowder missed clams and the seafood. Fish and chips - fish was "blah" - nothing special. French fries was over-fried. Calamari were very mediocre. I love the wing dings that the Yardarm has to offer. It came with ranch sauce for the perfect combination. It was very easy to get a table for weekend lunch. Staff was very nice and treated us with respect. There were so many good options to choose from, but I could only get one. read more

Who knew that an American restaurant would make the best eggplant parmigiana? Certainly a place worth checking out for a meal on the cape.

Best Cape Cod Reuben sandwich this side of the Canal.

Went there on a Saturday night for the first time. Busy little place. Ordered fish and chips and husband ordered a cup of clam chowder to start and baked fish. Waitress pleasant. Brought over rolls. And boy were they great. Chowder was very Good nice flavor thick and full of clams potatoes. Meals came and I was very pleased. Food was tasty and nice portion. I would definitely recommend and am going there again tonight read more

Five stars not because it's the best food on the planet, but because they're consistently good at what they do--fresh pub food at good prices. If you're looking for a simple homey meal in a friendly atmosphere, the Yardarm is a great choice. Go with what they do best and you won't go wrong. The seafood is fresh, excellent fries and usually the onion rings are something special (every once in a while they're too greasy). Don't wear anything with a Yankees or Giants logo--this is where the local crowd likes to watch the Red Sox and Pats! Exceptionally friendly and consistent. And if you like classic creamy thick clam chowder, this is pretty much the best. read more

Best burger on the Cape...nice and charred and juicy. No gross gristle which you get in so many burgers. Service is hit or miss. If you go for a burger and a brewski you won't be sorry. You may have to go to the bar to get your second beer, but hey, that's part of the charm here. read more

My family and I have visited the Yardarm for years and enjoyed the food although not the service. We pulled in for a Friday night feast to cap off a great week at the Cape and waited 55 minutes for a promised 30 minute table. We watched a larger party and a smaller party get seated ahead of us. When we questioned the hostess why we weren't being seated in order of arrival she loudly and rudely dismissed us. I've never met a more abrasive hostess who presents the absolute wrong public image. This one time favorite has slipped off our list and will never get our recommendation again. read more

Pretty good place, although service is slow - they're super nice and accommodating. I was a terribly picky customer last night and sent back my crab cakes (covered in straight up thousand island sauce?!?). Although they took FOREVER they were kind enough to bring me fresh ones without all the goop! The stuffed quahog was good, but YUGE!! The chowder was nice and think but not paste like you can get elsewhere. My husband had the fish and chips. Not too greasy. Some folks complain about the slaw, but I thought it was PERFECT! Not just dressing or wilted sweetened cabbage. Crispy, fresh and just enough dressing to say slaw without extra runny mess. Over all I'd recommend. Just ask what if anything they dress their dishes. Prices are great. Specials were around $20, most dishes on menu under $20 - our meal for 2 adults, 1 child with appetizers/chowder for each and a main plus a drink was $60! While the service was good....the food SUCKED! I had to send my prime rib back 3 times to be cooked and actually be warmed! The first time it was ice cold.....the second time it was luke warm...by the third time it had lost any and ALL seasoning flavor and was just a slab of meat.........pathetic, at best. I am visiting from New Jersey and recently visited the Yardarm for my first time due to all the great reviews I hear.This place is truly a gem, the food was above and beyond my expectations.The staff made me fell right at home from start to finish.The food is extremely fresh ,I had the Unique Cape Cod Ruben sandwhich which was out of this world,with the thinly sliced homemade onion rings, also enjoyed there large selection of beers.If your in this area I wouldnt pass this place up for anything.This place truly gives you that Cape Cod experience only found here. read more

My husband and I wanted a casual dinner and decided to try The Yardarm since we hadn't eaten there under the new ownership. Bad idea. The burger I ordered turned out to be a frozen pre-made patty, burned on the bottom, with no flavor and no juiciness. Just awful. The fries were unremarkable. My husband ordered the pork shank with risotto with better results - the pork was tender, though the gravy wasn't the best. Our server could have cared less about us - not once did she meet our gaze when ordering or afterwards. I don't think we'll go back. read more

I struggled between giving this place 2 or 3 stars. It's probably a solid 2.5... It's really more of a pub that happens to serve food than anything else. I ordered shrimp scampi. The shrimp were HUGE and they were perfectly cooked. But they were seasoned with jarred garlic, and the white whine in the sauce hadn't been cooked long enough. Great place, Great food and Great hosts! Let's start with the food: The Fish and chips were awesome! My husband had the Clam Strips and they were terrific! Jayne and John ,the owners, were so hospitable and friendly. Before we left I wanted to grab a bowl of clam chowder for later. Pat, our waitress, was spot on. She brought out tastings of both the clam and seafood chowder. I would never have ordered a seafood chowder, always opting for clam instead. It was so amazing and rich that I got a bowl to go. I always try to make it here when I'm on the cape. The clam strips are the best I've found! The scallop roll is delicious as well
