If you don't know, my favorite food in the whole wide world are crab legs if I could eat them every day I would, ESPECIALLY King crab legs. Hit up The Boil to get my seafood fix and it def hit the spot. I went during their happy hour and also got some oysters they were decently sized with gorgeous body and beautiful briney finish I also got the tequila sunrise (I was coming down from a cold), it's pretty standard but it's nice to know they have full bar! Overall a great sit down experience, with super attentive staff also heads up that they're cash only!

Man, I've been going to The Boil since their original location in Chinatown. Sadly, that spot closed awhile ago. And admittedly, it has been quite some time since I've been back. I was really craving a good seafood boil and no one was available tonight, so I came alone. And really, this isn't the type of food you want a lot of company watching you eat. They're cash only and remind you of that before you seat. If you didn't know or forgot, there's a convenient ATM within the restaurant. The service is very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I was seated at a booth and revisited numerous times to make sure I was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So if you haven't been here before, you're going to eat with your hands and out of a bag. Don't bring a first date here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went with the crawfish and shrimp combo with the house sauce - spicy of course. I didn't order anything else except a cold beer and a side of vermicelli. Why the vermicelli? Well, that's because the sauce is delicious. And you're going to need a vehicle to mop it all up. Trust me. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the sauce isn't as thick as I remembered it was. Also the crawfish itself wasn't that flavorful. But overall a fantastic meal and one I'll do again.

I came to the boil recently and it was good. It is always a good time. I ordered the shrimp with lobster and crab legs. My crab legs were a bit overcooked this time. My niece was happy she ordered the King Alaskan crab legs. The service was good; I was disappointed to see there had a sale going on which I missed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is always nice and a great time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is always friendly a check-ins on you.

I was so sad to find out that the Grand street location has been closed for awhile. This one is the only location in Manhattan (they have 1 in queens + brooklyn). We were craving for Cajun seafood so we came here. We ordered to share: 1) Mac & Cheese, 2) 6 pieces of oysters, 3) snow crab w/ jumbo shrimp in the boil sauce, 4) rice Out of all the foods we tried, the oysters were the worst (super small and did not taste that good) + the mac and cheese was so-so. The snow crab was ok & did not have much meat. The jumbo shrimps were great + the boil sauce was amazing. I added rice into the bag of sauce + it was even more delicious! Staff was very attentive and friendly. I do think that the quality of their foods has gone down. P.S - they added 20% gratuity/hospitality service fee to our receipt so just make sure to look at your receipt before paying the final bill. Cash only

I've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. I'm obsessed with their boil sauce the crab legs are coated in this buttery, flavorful magic that keeps me coming back. It's seriously addictive. The fries? Best I've ever had. Crispy, seasoned to perfection, and paired with their dill dipping sauce it's an elite combo. I dream about that dip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On top of the food, the vibe is always right. They play great music, the drinks are delicious, and the service is consistently amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everyone's friendly, attentive, and you can tell they care about the experience. Yes, it's a little on the pricey side, but it's 100% worth it. Between the food, drinks, and atmosphere, this place is a whole experience and I'll always keep coming back.

This place made me speechless. I was welcomed by the staff and the vibrancy. The staff was particularly nice, they made sure we were eating well, had enough gloves, and wiped. Food was prepared very quickly as well. I love how the staff allowed us to try different samples of beer. I personally had Barrier Honey IPA (I think that's the name, but it was def IPA) correct me if I'm wrong . My friend Heineken, but it wasn't the traditional one . Anyway, back to the food. We ordered half a dozen of raw oysters (soo fresh and sweet and it was happy hr so it was half the price). Then, fried calamari, 2 queen combos (one with garlic butter and one with Cajun) and 1lb of crawfish . I love seafood so Everything was amazing, I had a great time. Thank you to the staff!

Great spot to have some happy hour drinks and have some seafood! They have great happy hour specials every day of the week. We went on a monday and they had $1 oysters and clams and $10 margaritas. We shared a boil with snow crab and shrimp and added potatoes and corn on the side. It was the perfect amount for 2-3 people to share. The workers were very on top of the service and constantly made sure we had what we needed.

We had such a great time here Our server " LaMOON" was so kinda and amazing The food was amazing!!! Well seasoned crabs... The crab cake was also good (but not my favorite) The ambiance was truly beautiful They have a big BAYOU sign in the ceiling that gives you that sea vibe. Love how clean the bathrooms are and the big vintage sink The only negative is that they only take cash! That's no bueno lol Overall, we had a good time And we will definitely be back

The boil is a great interactive food experience that allows you to be as messy as you want while eating quality seafood cooked to perfection. I have been many times and finally had clean enough hands to take pictures this time. We started with the Cajun wings and Mac and cheese. My only complaint here is that for how much it costs, they are using plastic forks for us to eat with. Not only do I find this incredibly wasteful, I feel as though they are not very useful in a seafood restaurant, especially when you have to break open your own shellfish. I ordered a pound of snow crab legs and a pound of shrimp. You're able to order heads on or off and they offer many different combos with the option to trade the crawfish for shrimp. They also do offer a few tools to help open your crab legs. The music in this place is always bumping, service is speedy and you can usually always get a table without a reservation. Like always, I will be back again!!!

I LOVEEEE the boil! I just had their live crawfish and it is to die for! Highly recommend doing it dry rub. It was so JUICYYYY! You have to pair it with a nice crisp lager! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was on point and staff are friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to come back with my friends!

    Snow Crab Legs (1 Cluster)

I loved this place. They have an amazing menu with wide variety. They also have amazing softshell crab. I feel like not a lot of places do that good this place did them amazing. I also got a pound of snow crab legs the staff there was so nice and that gave us a little tips on how to crack it even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes were immaculate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food (4/5): Most of the dishes were good although a bit expensive and the lobster was a bit lackluster. We came a group of 7 and ordered several pounds of headless shrimp, lobster, crab cake, Cajun fries, garlic bread, lobster roll, and various lemonades. The shrimp with the garlic butter sauce was really good and I personally prefer it over the boil special sauce which some of my friends got. I also liked the crab cake and Cajun fries. The lobster roll was delicious but it was really expensive for such a small portion. The lobster itself was a letdown because the meat tasted a bit tough and overcooked. Service (4/5): Overall good service. The servers weren't super friendly and didn't check up too frequently, but they helped when requested with no issues. They helped our group take photos and got additional items as requested. Ambiance (5/5): Nicely themed seafood restaurant with tons of space. I liked the nautical decorations. There is a nice bar area as well as lots of seating.

    Do they accept credit cards?

No. Cash only. There is an atm in the vestibule fyi.

    Are reservations recommended on Saturdays?

Yes. Make reservations. Saturdays are VERY busy. Also, bring cash.

    Can you order takeout here?

    Yes

Do they have crawfish yet... if so are they small or tasty?

Yes they do! The waitress explained to me that when they are not in season, they will have it but they will be small. It is tasty though!

    Is this place cash only?

    Yes

I'm coming here later today, i don't have a reservation can i still go in ? are walk-ins accepted?

Yes you can def just walk in. Its cash only btw

If you request it, and pay if need be, will they peel/take the head off shrimp before serving?

If you don't want to peel the shrimp, order the shrimp cocktails would be better.

Are the sauces lactose intolerant friendly? Butter free?

One of our main ingredients for the wet sauce is butter unless u want to order it dry without the butter.

How come I don't see the blue crabs or the lousiana crabs on the menu from all the photos i seen?

I work as a hostess and server here. Blue Crabs are at the end of the list of Mains on the left hand side under the Clams. Call ahead to see if we have them if that's the priority of your visit (:

(I would say 5 or 6 ppl max) We were a group of 4 and they were very accommodating when I had to call and change the reservation a couple times I really liked the vibes in the restaurant , it was very cozy and i loved the art on their walls. it's a very interesting concept of korean and NOLA-style cuisine. We ordered à la carte , we did the hushpuppies and the fried chicken thighs ($68 for 5 thighs) that come with 2 sides (watermelon salad and kimchi green tomatoes) & the green tomatoes were my personal favorite- very flavorful and crispy! They were pretty busy, so our food took a bit longer than usual and they gave us complimentary pecan pie bites and the hushpuppies :) They were very apologetic but it was unnecessary, we were willing to wait for good food! The green tomato kimchi was crisp and the brine was a nice offset to our dishes. The cod beignets were enjoyed by all but I didn't think it is a must do. The kimchi jambalaya was good but has a similar flavor profile as kimchi fried rice for me to get it again. The seafood jjajangmyun was a surprise hit. I'm not the biggest fan of glass noodles but they absorbed the sauce so thoroughly. There's no broth to this, and the seafood didn't necessarily complement it so well especially the shrimp which was relatively unseasoned. I'd come back for the tasting menu when I'm really hungry to try other entrees.

The first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was. It's a smaller space, but everything was spotless. Our hostess was incredibly friendly and seemed to be doing it all seating guests, making cocktails, checking in on tables, and even folding napkins and prepping utensils for the next customers. She never missed a beat. Since it was Restaurant Week, they were offering a $60 seafood boil special that included an appetizer, a boil, and dessert. My date and I decided to share everything, so we ordered the Cajun spaghetti and the Restaurant Week boil, adding a whole lobster for an extra $20. We also ordered drinks. I had the Raspberry Martini, and he had the Clawlatta, their take on a piña colada. Both cocktails were beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. Even though there were only two of us, our waiter pulled another table over so we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the full seafood boil experience. It was a thoughtful touch that we appreciated. The Cajun spaghetti came out first, and it was delicious. It had a rich, flavorful sauce with a nice kick of spice that lingered at the end without being overwhelming. Then... came the BOIL!! I ordered the garlic butter seasoning with mild spice. The bag arrived piping hot, filled with plenty of shrimp, the whole lobster, potatoes, and lots of flavorful buttery broth. Everything was fresh, hot, and seasoned perfectly. It was messy in the best way and absolutely delicious. When we first arrived, there was only one other occupied table. By the time we left, the restaurant had filled up with several larger groups, yet the service and attention to us, was consistent. Every dish came out hot and savory, the hostess and waiter remained attentive throughout our meal, our water glasses were never empty, and the overall hospitality was excellent. Including drinks, the lobster upgrade, tax, and tip, our total came to about $175 for two people. Considering the quality of the food, generous portions, drinks, and outstanding service, I thought it was well worth it. I would definitely come back.

Amazing food, vibe and service!…read more Since I knew we would be in the city Sunday and would probably want to brunch before the concert that night, I looked up a bunch of places and this one kept catching my eye. We almost wouldn't have been able to go because I waited until that day to make reservations and it seemed like they were all booked up. But luckily, my boyfriend had a great idea to call to see if anything was available. Although I was only communicating with an automated system/ai rep, it was able to find reservations for 1:45. We took it and it was worth the wait! This is a very cute spot in Tribeca. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted, checked in for our reservation and seated immediately. Walking up, there is a little outdoor covered seating section that is set on the street next to the sidewalk. Inside, there was a jazz trio performing to the right when you first walk in. As we headed and got to our seats, we saw that behind the bar/counter seating they had the flattop cooking station so you could see the chefs preparing all the food; the bar was also in that area. We knew beforehand about the unlimited drinks option so we of course went with that - $36/person and had like 4 different brunch drink options you can rotate through over the 90 minutes. Our server came over pretty quickly to introduce herself and get our initial order. I was hoping to try out the Biscuits & Cajun Crab Gravy but they ran out of biscuits, so I ended up ordering the Chicken & Beignets instead. Boyfriend went with the Shrimp and Tasso Country Grits. Omg... Everything was delicious! Chicken had the perfect crisp and cook, beignets baked just right so they were soft and well complimented with the blueberry compote. And I had a bit of the grits - so creamy, perfect texture with a unique yet satisfying flavor with the sauce. Could kind of taste the coffee but also felt like there was something like a hint of curry or something in that red sauce - it was very good! Highly recommend checking this place out (make reservations for the weekend!). Because there are more things on this menu we would want to try, we said we have to try to come back very soon

Since…read moreI can't make a trip down there anytime soon, I searched for Louisiana-style gumbo in New York and came across this restaurant. After seeing the photos and reading the reviews, I was excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, I left highly disappointed. From the appetizers to the entrée to the dessert, nothing gave me that "wow" factor. Even the dining setup wasn't enjoyable--the tables were so close together that I could clearly hear conversations on both sides of me. It made it hard to even have a private conversation at my own table. I started with the charred oysters. They were just okay--nothing memorable. The smell wasn't very appealing, and the flavor didn't work for me either. Maybe there was too much Parmesan, but whatever it was, the flavors just didn't come together. Next were the fried green tomatoes with shrimp, and this dish really confused me. The shrimp had a sauce similar to what you'd find on Asian-style rock shrimp, but the shrimp were served cold. That combination just didn't make sense to my taste buds. I ordered two different gumbos to compare them. The crab gumbo was a complete miss for me--I absolutely did not enjoy the flavor. The "Gumbo All In" was better. It had some bold flavors, and while it wasn't amazing, it was definitely the one I preferred. The drinks were just okay. Nothing special. For dessert, I tried the Caramel Cornbread Cake and the beignets. I took the cake home and ate it the next day, so maybe that affected it, but I still didn't enjoy it. The beignets were even more disappointing because they weren't fully cooked in the center. I really wanted to like this place because I was craving authentic Louisiana flavors, but it just didn't deliver for me. Based on my experience, I don't see myself coming back.

The happy hour specials are unreal: $1 wings that are super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, $1.50 fresh oysters, and $2 grilled oysters and clams that are an absolute flavor bomb--loaded with buttery goodness, herbs, and cheese. Don't skip the $3 off adult Capri Suns--they're a fun, nostalgic touch that rounds out the happy hour perfectly while you relax and chat. Definitely order a side of Cajun fries for the table too; they're seasoned just right and great for sharing. Service is always quick and efficient, which makes the experience even better when the place gets busy. Claw's Daddy is now a go-to for happy hour cravings and easygoing hangouts with friends. Highly recommend!

We ordered a ton of food because we just wanted to try it all and we were not disappointed. I was craving some New Orleans style cuisine and this hit the spot. The service was excellent - attentive, friendly and made our evening special. The manager was super friendly as well and made sure we enjoyed everything. The non-alcoholic drinks were so good that I ordered 3 of them. The only thing I wish is that they had some traditional crawfish étouffée on the menu! It's my favorite dish. Will definitely return here soon!

I came here to throw down on some seafood and that's exactly what we did. I found out about this place because one of my favorite TikTok foodies posted that she came here when she was visiting from Chicago. It was also my friend's birthday so we figured we'd check it out. If you come with a group of 4 or more, including the birthday person, they eat for free, which is a pretty nice perk. This place lived up to every bit of the hype. We did the $125 option which includes lobster. If you have people in your group who are on the fence about spending the extra money, just remind them it's only about $35 more and that's basically the cost of one lobster anywhere else. Here you're getting unlimited lobster. The food literally just kept coming. At one point we were running out of room on the table. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff noticed and started putting multiple items on the same plates instead of bringing everything out separately. It sounds small but it actually helped a lot and showed they were paying attention. The drinks weren't super strong but they definitely weren't weak either. If you love seafood, come hungry and bring a group. The vibes were great, the service was on point, and we left absolutely stuffed.

I ate here for the first time with a couple other guys (who have all worked in the restaurant industry) 5 years ago. We ate until we were full, still had leftovers, and enjoyed the creative-yet-familiar cocktails and quirky decor from the mezzanine. Everyone had something nice to say about our experience here, and to this day I still remember reheating my jambalaya the next morning and having a satisfying breakfast. On my most recent visit to the city last month, I brought my girlfriend--and this place still stands up. The staff is attentive and patient, with helpful suggestions and personable service. The drinks are exciting. And most of all, the food is delicious and, in authentic Nola style, is served in generous portions at a fair price. Probably not a Michelin-worthy fine dining experience, but--and I do not throw this term around a lot on this app--I LOVE this restaurant. Catch me back here every time I'm in New York.

It was all of our first time - we all enjoyed the decor and ambiance. We drank at the bar before being seated - drinks were good, customer service from the staff at the bar was great, very personable and attentive. Once seated at our table we ordered appetizers, crab dip & pretzel bites, and the muffuletta flatbread - presentation, size, flavor 10/10 delicious. Entrees - blackened Sesame Salmon was just okay and dry. Crispy roasted French chicken, didn't have any flavor - the chicken was just okay, the green beans had bacon in it that tasted overcooked, I almost didn't recognize that it was bacon. There was no cream, fat, or richness to these entrees that I expected to get from a New Orleans styled restaurant. The appetizers were better than the entrees. There was no weight, or layered flavors to the dishes. I almost feel like this was more of the restaurant catering to the audience, instead of staying true to what it was designed for. As the time passed the environment became less alluring and felt more like a chain - the music was some awful top 10 If the restaurant stayed true to the website it could have been the cutest experience to stumble upon. I would only come back if I was in the area and wanted a familiar experience and a drink, I wouldn't do what I did and make an event out of it with friends

I ordered the 1lb shrimp, head on, mild garlic butter while my colleague ordered the 1lb crawfish, spicy juicy. I liked how it came in buckets. Too bad they only gave us one pair of gloves though. At our office, we work through lunch instead of having a set lunch break so that becomes twice as inconvenient. I have always been loyal to the garlic butter regardless of where I go so I did not know what to expect when I got a taste of my colleague's sauce. It was sour, spicy, salty, a lot going on at once. It was not bad but it was not my cup of tea. My own sauce on the other hand, was only flavored by salt and garlic. There was no butter flavor going on at all. Kind of disappointing. I really appreciated the amount of garlic though. My bucket was interesting because I found that my middle layer of shrimp had the same sauce as my coworker. Overall flavor profile was just salty though. They put way too much salt. As for the seafood itself, I would say it was ok. There was only a handful that did not seem all too fresh. The rest was alright. Would I order from them again? Sure. But only when I'm really craving seafood boil with no time to travel the distance for something else.
