Everytime I have gone here the food never disappoints. This was actually...the first Thai food that I had ever had many years ago & they are still going strong. The staff is always friendly & courteous. I decided to try this place because I was working nearby and someone recommended them. I ordered the pad Thai and it was the worst pad Thai I've ever had. I really don't know if they had any traditional pad Thai flavoring in here at all. Marin generally does not do well with pad Thai or Thai food in general, but this was a new low. I was underwhelmed on my first visit by meager portions and a dull lack of complexity in the pallet. It was long ago enough that I cannot remember anymore what I ordered then. I am here now. This is, frankly, the best Pad Thai I have ever eaten. I have lived in Bangkok. I find so many restaurants here in the USA make the mistake of preparing this dish in such a way that it resembles spaghetti and often, worse, a sort of ketchup-y tomato sauce. Not here. Playfully sweet, salty, sour, all co-existing in balanced harmony - and under it all, like a quiet friend, the allure of something smokey, keeping me company as I chew, and on it lasts after I am finished. Located in the Strawberry Village, this Thai spot is not a bad place for lunch. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I opted for indoors in a small table near the bar area. Service was slow. It took me several flags to get someone to my table to order. Food did arrive promptly. I do enjoy their lunch specials which is usually a salad, grilled meats, or noodles at a decent price for Marin. I ordered a thai iced tea and a grilled shrimp with veggies and rice on the side. The shrimp was topped with sirarcha which I love but Im sure not everyone appreciates that. Sauces should be more on the side. 6 shrimps. Total came to $20. The Thai tea was so boring I'd rather have ice tea. The fish cakes were chewy and lacking flavor. We ordered Pad Thai and Pad Seew and the dishes were on the small side of a portion and completely lacking fully developed flavor. Spicy levels were a bit weak as well. As much as we love Thai food, we can't recommend it and won't be back. I'd rather have In-N-Out over this place. read more

No time for fluff as the hanger is beginning to kick in... Came in at 11:47am and placed a takeout order at the same time that another woman was seated for her lunch. Flash forward to 12:15pm and I'm still waiting for my order even though I was told that it would only take 10-15 minutes. The woman who came in with me finished her meal and left while I was still sitting here! It's now 12:17pm and I only just got my order. A simple chicken satay (which is normally an appetizer) and some steamed rice. Why it took 30 minutes to make it out to me is mind boggling. There was no apology or courtesy extended for the long wait and my patience. This was a terrible experience for a lunch order that was placed when the restaurant was 15 minutes into their opening. There was literally 3 people inside including the woman they just seated. Absolutely no excuse for the lag and the lack of concern for me as I'm sitting there, staring and wondering where my food is. Clearly this place falls short in customer service and it's unfortunate that they couldn't muster a simple apology or make a greater effort to check on my order, which was probably sitting on the counter for the last 20 minutes... read more

Rainy, cold day, restaurant was warm and had plenty of seating (we got there early). Ordered the lunch plates (I love when places have lunch plates) of the red curry with vegetables and hubby had the param long song (peanut sauce with spinach). Both very good and a nice size (just right). Rice is especially pretty -- you get red rice and white rice, smooshed together into a beautiful dome shape.
