I never realized this restaurant was here and decided to try it today. It's a cute little place right across from Nak Won (in the same parking lot) and next to the asian market. I had the eggs benedict and a side of baby pancakes and my friend had the fresh seafood omelet. Both our dishes were delicious (the hollandaise was incredible), the coffee was fresh and our server was very attentive. My guy and I came here for a late breakfast on our way to the last day of the PGA Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It was crowded and bustling, but the wait to get a table was only about 5 minutes, which was great. We ordered right away and waited approximately half an hour if not longer for our meal, which was not good. In the meantime we asked for hot tea and iced waters. The waters didn't arrive until our meal did, much later, and the tea was brought to us right away but the water was lukewarm at best. Asking for more hot water, we again received lukewarm water. Not good at all. We gave up on the tea. I noticed several tables that were sat after us seemed to get their food before us, and that a larger group that arrived after us got their waters right away. When our food finally arrived, it was sub par. My toast was blackened and my bacon was dry. My guy's mango pancakes were just pancakes with some sliced mango on top. The house potatoes and eggs were fine - but really, does anyone mess up potatoes and eggs? In terms of environment, it was small and crowded. There was a teddy bear at the register, which I thought was out of place and unprofessional. Other than that, everything seemed clean - except for the floor. My shoes were sliding on food remains. Yuck. Service was pleasant, when we received it. I think they need one more chef in the kitchen, and one more server based on the service we received and how long it took for the food to get to our table. Not the worst, but not the best. Stopped by Tico's for dinner last night! Super stoked by their fresh food, honest service and charm. Still not loving the music, but it's worth it! We ordered the Primavera Pasta and Suteed Sand Dabs- Both were perfectly prepared and flavored - the primavera was little slivers of carrot, zucchini, and yellow pepper arranged with al dente linguine and artichoke hearts in a light and zesty white wine reduction featuring shallots, white pepper and a drop of cream, butter and parmesan. The Sand Dabs were crispy and moist on the inside with a light lemon beurre blanc sauce alongside barely cooked julienned veggies and the smoothest, creamiest mount of whipped potatoes . And just because it's Tico's, they brought out some super delish little rounds of ratatouille toasts and a basket of garlic bread while we waited for them to cook our food. All for just under $30. A small place where servers are quick and efficient. I ordered the Mexican omelette and it was very good. I liked that it didn't have an overload of cheese. All the ingredients were nicely balanced. My girls ordered eggs and pancakes with bacon, and they ate it all, so that's always a good sign! My husband ordered the seafood omelette and he said it was delicious. Excellent coffee. This is a great example of a local yelp spot - really great food and super-friendly service that you never would have found just driving around town. It's small - maybe 8 tables inside and 5 outside. My fam destroyed the French Toast (kids), biscuits and gravy (husb) and pancakes (I slayed so hard). Went in for lunch today, first time here. Itw was about 1.40 and it was empty We were the only ones there. Always sketchy when it's empty. I had their lunch special of a salad and a personal pizza. The salad had a very light vinaigrette, too light for me, it should of had more dressing. Also you don't have a choice of dressings, you just get vinaigrette. It didn't really have any flavor. The pizza had mushrooms grilled red onions and sausage with a little red sauce and lots of mozzarella cheese on a thin herb crust It was ok. I give this place 5 stars because its clean, great service and good food. I ordered eggs benedict and it was amazing. The presentation and the taste was to perfection. Darn it, Tico's. I wanted to write am amazing review. I'm giving 4 stars because the food was delicious (seafood omelette, kids breakfasts). And maybe it was our fault for coming on father's day sunday... My husband ordered a side of biscuits and gravy, and even after reminding the waiter, it never showed up( they ended up just taking it off the tab because we never got it). The three kids breakfast we ordered were all different prices(4.99 -5.99), but they charges 5.99 for each one. And on the kids menu, orange juice was listed at $1.75, but they charged us $ 2.95 for each. It was only a few bucks, but the point is that the price charged to the customer should match the menu price. I don't want to have to worry about knick-knacking a few dollars here and there, and I want service to be dependable. Improve that and it be a 5-star review. read more

Went there twice today, once for breakfast and then for lunch...yes, they are that good! For breakfast I had the bake potato skin with scramble eggs, cheese and assortment of fruits. It was really big, that I had to share it with my hubby. For lunch I went back for the fish and chips and it was WONDERFUL, one of the best fish and chips I've tasted ever!!! The batter was light and very tasty and the fish was fresh. He cook the fries with garlic and some herbs, which was great. He always has the most delicious specials and he can make anything you want....you just have to ask. It is one of my favorite places to eat. read more

Dropped in on a Saturday evening with a friend who used to live in the area and remembered Tico's as one of his favorites back in the day. It was nearly empty (2 other people) and I thought to myself, "Oh, oh, this was a huge mistake." But we were there and the Lift driver had already left, so what the heck? Glad we stayed! I ordered fried calamari and my friend order fried artichokes; both were very good, indeed (frying fixes almost everything). We both ordered pasta for our mains. Wow. My puttanesca sauce was freshly made from scratch (as were the noodles) and was as good as any I've ever ordered in a restaurant. I didn't taste my dining partner's creamy sauce (no room left in the belly), but he raved as much about his as I did about mine. My husband and I have started eating here about twice a month and it is good! We live here in Marina and we like to sit outside, have breakfast and catch up. Kablamo! We were looking for a breakfast place open on Memorial Day as we drove down to Big Sur. This was the second place we stopped at (try #1 wasn't open) but it was very satisfying! I had the Eggs Benedict, and they were great. There was lots of tasty sauce, which I was happily scooping onto potatoes as well as the eggs. My partner had the french toast, which he said were amazing. The coffee was ok - diner coffee. The hot sauce available was Pepper Plant (yay!) and they have homemade marmalade. It is a pretty small place, so you have to walk through the kitchen to the bathroom. Don't let the decor and location (strip mall) freak you out- it is delicious breakfast for a great price. We will definitely make it back for any southern morning drives! read more

I went there today with a friend with our typical breakfast from Bagels & Donuts not far away, but we sat outside in a patio setting and sipped some deliciously fresh OJ. i really like their coffee, i usually order off their lunch menu and my fiance off the breakfast. Im always left with more desire to love this place than i really do. My fiance is smitten about the food- but then again hes a pancake fanatic! They do have a wonderful menu and its sort of that place thats a hole in the wall with wonderful food- i don't really know what its missing- but it is def. missing something! Found this place almost by accident, but I'm very glad I did. Had the crab cake eggs Benedict and it was great. Service was good, and I did not find the delay others have reported. There were not too many people there when I arrived but it I guess I was the beginning of a wave. The space is small and echo-y and one active conversation dominated the room. Don't even try to have a private conversation! This has become my breakfast place whenever I'm on the area. The only reason for holding back the fifth star is that bit of starkness in the decor. While visiting a friend in the area I stopped at the place for some breakfast mostly because the word Tico caught my eye. The server was extremely friendly. I got the heuvos rancheros and orange juice. I had been in California for 2 days already and ate huevos ranchers both days but these were by far the better ones. As for their Orange Juice, oh my... The Eggs Benedict were amazing and the hollandaise sauce was flavored to perfection. The Breakfast Tacos were chorizo and egg on corn. Upon sitting at a table waited some time to just get water. At that time we ordered our food. About 15 minutes later they brewing the burger and fries and someone else's order, they took the wrong order to who it belonged to we then waited with one of 3 orders we ordered to wait another 15 + minutes to receive the rest of our order. Their nova scotia benedict is AMAZING!! I could not get enough of this dish, and it was a bit sad when i had the last bite. TOO GOOD! One point I should disclose: I did go to this place after an 11 mile bike ride. I think I would have loved it regardless. This is the kind of joint I love going to for breakfast/brunch. Small, quaint, and quality service. The lady came by 5 times to make sure we had enough water! They were also very accommodating to our needs (we needed to sit outside to watch our bikes). Strawberry milkshake tasted like real strawberries. More like a smoothy texture than a milkshake. Shoestring fries - delish. Country potatoes - delish. Their BLT is a bit skimp, but it filled up the bellies of those who ordered it, and overall delish. The bathroom in the kitchen is a little weird, but whatever. We have been here many times. And never been disappointed. There was one instance that I ordered a special that sounded great, but when it arrived it had eggs in it. I don't like eggs. I said something, changed my order and the bill arrived... Wasn't on there. Mega points for that. The only knock I can give them is that they can be a little slow with the service. I really love this little breakfast spot. My partner and I come here fairly often for a nice little brunch break and 9 times out of 10, things are spot on. The French toast is probably one of my favorite menu items, same with the apple fritters. My partner loves the reuben. The owner is a very sweet lady and the servers are always genuinely nice to us. Really great food!! We came on Monday after 4th of July so there was a lot of parties and they were short staffed. Service was slow but there was not much they could do about it. They were very nice and gave us a round of Apple fritters on the house which were really tasty. Once the food came out it was very good, and I would say worth the wait. Their hot sauce was also quite good - not so much spicy as more of good vibes in my mouth. I put it all over the huevos rancheros, which I would certainly recommend.
