Well well well TF its been a HOT minute. (Pun intended...) Ellie was basically MADE with TF Taco Tuesday and Burrito Thursday back in 2012-2013. So it seemed only fitting that we eat at TF!!! So I fully intended to get the Dos Tacos but then I spied a bowl with cilantro lime rice and I could put black beans, pico and guac on I was sold. Ahhhhh good choice. Really good choice. I'm full and I have fresh good food in my belly. Ellie approved and she too loves Tijuana Flats. The girl can't say no to black beans. And she didn't. She made herself a vegan order of nachos. Black beans, pico and guac. And she LOVED every bite. Hubs got refried beans in.hia flautas and nothing else. My son got dos tacos with hardshell and refried beans. He however is not a TF fan. Oh well lol I love the loud artwork, crazy fun hot sauce bar and the manager went out of the way to find me a box for the 12 Ocean Deck hot sauces I bought to fly home. I can't take this location any longer. I place online orders from here frequently. I'd say 75% of the time they are delivered with either something wrong or something missing. I'm not exaggerating; I place a delivery order typically two to four times per month, and most will be wrong. We consider it a lucky day if the order comes through properly. Drinks are the most frequent missing item, which is all the more frustrating if it's a Throwback day when you are supposed to receive a drink and don't. Side items are the second largest issue. I used to always add a salsa and chips, and it often goes missing. They're not immune to just screwing the whole order up too though; we've had bowls come with the wrong meat from time to time. It's not just the mistakes though, they can't even remedy the situation properly. I called two minutes after arrival of my most recent incorrect delivery missing my salsa. They said they'd credit my card back that evening. Never happened. I've interacted with the management, via email form and in person, they're always very nice, and nothing ever changes. This store is broken and can't be fixed; I give up. read more

This location has gone downhill. I ordered the enchiladas verdes with chicken no cheese. The enchiladas were brought out and the chicken, tortillas, and sauce were lukewarm at best, bordering on cold. I brought it back to the counter and asked them to heat them up. I'm guessing they remade them, because a manager brought out a new plate of enchiladas. No apology, no asking if we needed anything else. The remade enchiladas were still cold. Not once did an employee check on us to see if the food was okay or if we needed refills. When I went back up to the counter, the manager never made eye contact with me or asked if things were better. I normally have a good experience at this location, but to be honest, the food and service tonight sucked. I won't be back. read more

The beef was greasy, the chimichangas were barely fried, and everything tasted like it had a pound of salt. The "soda" I ordered was fully packed in ice up to the lid, with probably 2 ounces of soda in it. Multiple unattended children running amok up and down the restaurant, two actually bumped into my table while I was eating my meal. Staff completely oblivious. We decided to try this place after passing by it a few times. You order at the front, and they bring the food to you when it's ready. We began with the cheese dip, which was tasty with the right level of spice. I had the shrimp bowl - amazing flavor! My husband liked his fish tacos too. I have been eating at the Tijuana Flats on 66th in St Petersburg for years...every time I would get a meal for my wife and I the food was good, the service was quick and the ambience was pleasant...except for today. I ordered an All Beef burrito...the hostess told me that I had to get beans and other accoutrements on my beef burrito because they did not have an all beef burrito (but I'm sure I got one before)...so when my burrito came it had some sort of limp green vegetable on it (couldn't tell if it was lettuce or spinach) as well as the usual onions and so on. We ordered additional cueso to go with the standard chips that you get with your burrito...When we got home (less than 10 minutes)...the burrito was cold (had to warm it up in our microwave for 2 minutes) and the cueso was runny, like it had been watered down and lacked flavor. It was VERY disappointing and it is not likely that I will go back which is too bad because my wife and I do not go out much and to spend close to $25 on a subpar meal seemed unsatisfying... The one bright spot was that the service was still good...the girls were running around frantically making sure that everyone was served in a timely manner...they were very pleasant. It seemed like they were under staffed. Bottom line...don't go to this Tijuana Flats...the food was horrible and it's a waste of money and time. read more

Best vibes ever. Came here 10/12 a couple days after Hurricane Milton. They had a limited menu due to storm impact but they let us know before we ordered so it was no problem. Why I really wanted to write the review tho is because the staff was sooo nice and such good vibes. Every single one of them was so helpful and friendly. They came to check on us multiple times to make sure we enjoyed our food and were doing alright. They made nice conversation with us. They came from behind the counter to hold the door open for another customer with a broken foot. Just all around damn good energy. Exactly what people need all the time, bust especially after a hurricane. 10/10 read more

While missing something without the help yourself hot bar, the staff did a great job of providing pre-packaged hot sauces to go with my recent order. The food was good, as always, and a recent Yelp gave me a reason to visit this location which is really near my house, but not often thought of when it comes to meal planning. Great fast casual Tex-Mex. The chicken in the tacos and burritos is the big differentiator for me compared to other quick Mexican food. And the service is great! I've ordered online with curbside pickup several times and haven't had to text that I've arrived, they're watching the parking spots and bring the food out right away. The Tyrone location in St Petersburg FL has the worst service. I have order from them multiple times, and after tonight the food and price will not bring me back. I placed an online order at 442P for pickup at 600P, the location is in a high traffic area so I left for pick up a little early. I arrived and parked at 550P, there were a couple of to go orders waiting for pickup from online or Uber Eats so I sat down figuring I was early mine would be out shortly. 6 o'clock came, not order, 610, 615 and 620, no one on staff approached me about needing anything, several order went and when I was the only person left waiting for to go I asked a staff member if she could possibly look for my order of Chips & Queso and Salsa. My order was finally brought to me, no I'm sorry and no receipt so I could do online survey. So because of my 30 minute wait time the food that was being prepared to go with this order was pretty much ruined. Instead of having tacos for dinner because the meat was to dried out to eat I am sitting eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich writing reviews on every platform and reaching out to corporate because it's useless to reach out to manager of this location. I guess I now understand why locations are closing and the company is in trouble, good luck from former customer. read more

Love Tijuana Flats! This is a regular location for us and it's great. The folks are friendly the food is what you expect at Tijuana Flats (awesome!). What's odd about this spot is the weirdness of getting inside. They have an "A" frame sign directly in front of the door that says "EXIT ONLY". There's only one door....it's the only door...... but there is a big sign blocking the sidewalk to the door that says...."EXIT ONLY"....? How do I get in to give money and get food?!? Well, you are in luck. I have photos that will help you. First, if you are looking at the building you will notice the buildings features don't actually match the space on the interior of the building. Tijuana Flats actually goes a ways down on the left (North) and THAT my friends is the magic portal to sauce and tacos! What happened to one of my favorite fast food places? Schedule has kept me from stopping in for a while, and although it LOOKS like Tijuana Flats, it doesn't TASTE like it. I should have been suspect when placing my order and told that the menu doesn't correctly describe the offerings. The menu offers a couple of options for a combo, but I was told that is incorrect. Burrito was bland and not a good representation of TF of old. LOTS of filler and very little meat in the beef burrito. The rice was tasteless, actually horrible. Maybe it was simply a bad day, maybe it is because of changes by the new management company. Because I have been a long time regular I felt I could approach the manager to ask, but he was busy on the phone. Only 5 customers in the dining room at 1:30pm on a weekday, so it certainly wasn't because they were busy. BLARINGLY LOUD music in the dining area may have chased the customers away- it hurried my departure. There are too many other options in the area, I'm not sure this TF warrants another visit. read more

Never been to a Tijuana Flats before. We were impressed. The young woman working the counter and floor did an amazing job greeting guests as and before they walked in the door. A friend and I stopped by this location for lunch on a Saturday. We were greeted when we walked in the door and told about the Saturday special which includes 2 entrees, a side and two drinks for $20. We ordered and sat down. A manager came by twice and checked on us. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the whole experience. I said to my friend "I feel like I am dreaming" because this level of quality service is RARE in todays world Thank you to all the staff for doing a STELLAR job. Absolutely horrible! This is 2 times in a row I have been disappointed with my food. Last week I went to Tijuana Flats, I ordered the Dos tacos, the tacos were smaller than normal, the soft taco shell was crusty, a LOT less meat, no more tomatoes or black olives. This time I ordered the chimichanga. It was as thin as could be for a more expensive price, the portion was smaller than I ever remember it being. There was almost no meat in it either. This order had also not came with any toppings. It looked like a toaster strudel. Burritos are their speciality for sure, though the have some other menu items. I went with the Chipotle Chicken, thick and hearty, and all the way mans you want everything in it. Price is good, about $7 for a good size with chips. They have a great hot sauce bar, with really something for everyone... Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally; yea great hot sauce name. The service here is great! When you walk in, they are quick to great you and offer a menu or suggestion. Also, dinning in is more like a sit down restaurant, where they bring the food to you and are quick to bring drink refills and clean up after. Taco Tuesday and get a free taco on Thursday wearing Lightning gear is a deal. The food is decent for a quick Mexican flavored meal and the service is efficient. They have a hot sauce bar to get your spicy kick but that is to me the weakest part of the operation. They have Chips and a salsa but it tastes like canned tomatoes in a blender and absolutely is not "Mexican" salsa. The hot sauces offered have nothing to do with a taste of Mexican food and to me have no enhancement to the food. I will eat there from time to time, but will continue to eat food there on food without sauce. read more

I love going to restaurants that are not in my hometown. I've been to Tijuana Flats twice and both times have been spot on. The staff is very nice and are willing to answer any questions you have. You order at their bar then bring it to your table. I've had their queso and their chipotle chicken nachos. Both are amazing. Everything has the right amount of salt on it and hot. The best part is that they are pretty quick. There is also a little bar dedicated to hot sauces. I can't tell you anything about that because I'm lame and don't care for spicy food. The place is pretty pricy, but that's what happens when you go to a tourist town. Overall I love this place. read more

LOVE, Love, love TJ Flats. I am a vegetarian but do not eat dairy and they offer many options and on top of it the beans, black and refried are delicious. This particular TJ's is rather small on the inside but they do offer outdoor seating. At this one we usually just order curbside. The app tracks you if you allow it and they will make the order fresh so you can have a hot and fresh order delivered right to your car. Then it's time to munch down and smile!! read more

Taco Tuesday! This Tijuana can get a little crowded with the law school down the street. Location is great, but parking can be overwhelming as it's also a cut through to get to the other side of the shopping center. Staff is always very friendly, management is helpful, refills come quickly and it's always clean. On Tuesday they have taco tuesday which is two tacos, chips and a drink for $5.99, and Thursday is the medium size burrito, chips and a drink for $5.99. Both are steals. If you've never been to a Tijuana before you may be a little overwhelmed. When you walk in you are greeted by a employee and they hand you the menu (try and pull it up online before you go if you can)- you kinda just stand around until your party has decided what they want to order. You then walk to cashier and place your order. The cashier is the one who refills your drinks. They ask you for your name and when your food is ready someone will bring your food out to your table, by calling your name. Also- you leave your trash on your table and they come around and pick it up. Someone usually walks around and asks if you need drink refills as well. Food wise- it's not super authentic mexican, but it is good! They have a salsa bar and you can get unlimited they range from mild to super hot... they even have a super hot sauce that you have to sign a waiver for if you're up for that.... All the sauces can be purchased to take home a bottle as well. If you've never been, I recommend it. read more

I've never had a bad TF experience. Like I've said in previous reviews of mine, I don't live in Florida. I visit a lot through the year, and I make it a point to eat at any TF I can find at least once. Service is always spot on, and the food is always fresh. I got the chicken tacos with everything on it. I like that they mixed the cheese with the sour cream so it didn't get everywhere. The beans and rice were fine.
