We stumbled upon this place last night while searching for crawfish. It is attached to the crawfish place we visited. Never knew Tikila's existed, but so glad we found it. It has nice ambiance, tvs inside and outside, 3 large patios... one of which has swing seats. My hubby and I love those swing seats. So fun and relaxing. This place gets 4 stars for the vibe and the servers alone. Everyone was super nice. The drinks, however, are not that strong. I eventually switched from mixed drinks to wine. I liked this place!! It's a hidden gem in a part of Houston that most people wouldn't think to head to for tropical drinks, but I'm here for it. My friends and I came here on a breezy afternoon, which was perfect to sit out on the patio and enjoy the Hawaiian-vibes with tiki drinks to boot! I don't recall the name of the drink I ordered, unless it was just called a frozen mojito, but I had a couple and they were very tasty and priced fair for happy hour. I'm not sure if there was a special event going on, but the bartender, who previously hadn't been super friendly when ordering, brought out free Jameson shots, rubber bracelets, and souvenir cups for every one in our party once we were seated. Woot! Woot! I enjoyed the decor of the place more than anything, as well as the swings around some of the tables. The connect four boards were broken, which was disappointing, but we made do. The space is cool, both indoor and outdoor. The outside has a couple of areas, one with swings on tiki huts and another that has garage doors and picnic tables. The inside has posts with tiki heads and wallpaper has their mascot with the Día de los Muertos skull printed on it. They also have a food truck out the back patio. Where they fall short, is the drinks. There were not many drink options. Mostly margaritas and mojitos, which were not frozen as they were supposed to be. But, both were mostly sour mix, and not really tiki inspired. They really should have more drinks with fresh tropical juices, and well mixed, maybe serving them in tiki inspired glasses. Something more like Lei Low with their tequila theme. Their bartenders seemed limited on training, could mostly serve a frozen drink or a beer. The music was so loud that we could not even talk to the bartender at 5:00 pm. The parking situation is valet only, which even with that, they were pretty limited. There have good bones, but they could use a lead bartender to craft a menu to fit their vibe. We will stop back again, and see if the kinks are worked out, after a while. But, that experience will not make it anything to rush back for. read more

The tables with swings sold me! This is such a cute bar, Happy Hour with $5 margaritas (not too strong) three patios, games and a great vibe. Shepard's traffic can be a nightmare though for the Happy Hour but if you brave that, you'll love this oasis! read more

I visited the establishment today, and my party and I were not served because a friend was wearing Crocs. Blake, the bartender stated that this was their dress code and it was to be strongly enforced. I asked Blake if he could detail the specifics of the dress code policy and he could not. He stated that "we usually have a doorman here that handles that stuff, but he's not here today". There is no information provided on the website with any dress code information and there are no postings available at the bar for potential customers. It appears that it is left up to each individual staff member to determine what they deem appropriate attire for customers to wear. The dress code should be public knowledge to ensure that everyone is treated equal without bias and inconsistent subjectiveness. I would not recommend this establishment read more

My boyfriend found this spot on TikTok and we love trying new places in Houston but this spot was not one for us. I'm not sure if it was because of our ethnicity, but we were not serviced. We sat for 30min and a waitress asked me if we were helped and I told her please get my boyfriend and I some water until he comes back from the car. She never came back. I SERVICED MYSELF SOME WATER AT THE BAR. Her and another waitress looked our way and never said another word. PATHETIC AND TERRIBLE SERVICE. The ONLY reason I give one star is because a young woman named Jessica serviced us free drinks and she didn't even work there. Just a place I wouldn't ever come back to. read more

This is nice vibe on a Sunday afternoon at this BAR. Nice frozen drinks on a hot sunny day at the BAR. The first DJ was playing great music, then his shift was over and the next guy was not so great. Who would have thought you could feel as if you were on vacation minutes from home? The frozen mojitos garnished with THE freshest mint and most pigmented orchids (my personal fav) topped off this drink that packed a nice punch. Not only in flavor but also in alcohol content. The Bartender was pleasant to order from and on the eyes. Always had a greeting and a smile to match. We sat outside, as we always try to do for fresh air from COVID. They had large fans circulating the air outside and providing relief from the heat. Dj was playing the winning tunes to prevail my winning streak of connect 4 (despite what my opponent may say) for bites, we had a option of chicken tacos or pastor. So we opted for both. The spicy salsa was homemade and stood talk against the Texas heat. Not sure which was hotter but it was def flavorful! Last night will be my first and absolute last visit to this establishment. Unfortunately I had excellent customer service from everyone aside from a single bartender (Ashton) who warrants such a low rating. My friend very politely asked her to pull up her mask while serving us. She rolled her eyes and and told us she'd get some one else to deal with us. When asked again later in the night she looked at a co-worker and complained "it's just politics". He was very sweet and took care of us with no problem. (Made an incredible Ranch Water) Not only is this establishment in the business of excuting local ordinances and food saftey/sanitation they are also in the business of customer service. As some one who is in the industry I was disgusted by her attitude and lack of consideration for others. If she wants to practice unsanitary habits she should do it on her own time in her own home. Can't stand to wear a mask? Is antibacterial soap a political issue too? What other unsafe practices does she exercise at the expense of patrons and her coworkers? Everyone was great about social distancing, ample parking, wait staff aside from the obvious was incredible and the ambiance was great. This is one of my favorite hangout spots. There are so many delicious tiki drinks, as well as a good beer selection. There's a spacious inside and two large patios, plenty of room. Parking is in the back and they have a large lot. What's great as well is the food vendors. Hot and buttered is juicy seafood with mouth watering sauce. Crawfish season is a must try! They also have a variety of other food trucks, most recently there's a great arepa vendor with amazing butter garlic cheese arepas. You could stay all day! read more

Tikilas was wonderful! We came here reading mixed reviews on Yelp but I would suggest this spot. Some of the negative reviews were about service, we had a wonderful experience. Raul was our bartender and he took great care of us, explained Happy Hour (Monday- Friday 3-7) and their Happy Meal (beer and a shot of whisky or tequila...white claw included!) very well. When we got our tab, HH deals were already priced to include taxes - 2 margaritas, 2 Happy Meals all for 24$. They had 3 different patios, cabanas and an indoor spot - perfect place for a sunny day. read more
