This place came up when we searched for chowder, but we were told that the menu changes weekly, and we were out of luck for this weekend. Either way, looking at the glorious reviews, we decided to go in anyway. However, we were not as impressed as we thought we would be. From the start, the service was subpar, and borderline rude. The waitress seemed to be pretty cheerful while greeting the neighboring tables, but we weren't lucky enough to see any of that when it was our turn. We ordered the English pea soup, seafood sausage and pork and clams. The portions were quite small, and prices were certainly higher than what the $$ sign claimed (more like $$$$). The food itself was good, and we definitely liked the pea soup a lot. Overall, the food is very overpriced, the portions are small, and the service could definitely use some improvement. Restaurant open at 9. We got there 30 sec after 9 and we were told it's fully booked!!! Lucky some people didn't show up and we were able to get seated after 15 min. So I highly recommend making reservation ahead of time. The staff here are super friendly. We ordered 2 Dutch babies: classic with maple and savory with smoked ham hock. My friends and I saw this place on Yelp, and just pulled up on a Sunday morning for brunch after Pilates class with no reservation. Unfortunately, they had a sign up saying they were out of space for brunch, but were still able to request being placed on a waitlist in case there were any same day cancellations. As a result, we sat outside (on the sidewalk as there's no convenient seating unfortunately) and just hoped for the best. After 30 minutes, they let us know that there was a table open for us! I got a classic Dutch Baby to share, as well as a classic omelet. The Dutch Baby was really good! Super fluffy and warm, and it reminded me of a souffle almost. I also thought it looked really cute in the cast iron pan. I would definitely recommend squeezing lemon on it, as it really elevated the flavor. For the omelet, I really enjoyed the mini shrimp inside the omelet, but I thought the potatoes were okay/nothing special. The portions were definitely large enough for us even though we were starving that morning, and our server was attentive throughout our meal and super nice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, and also would be down to come back for brunch (but I think a reservation ahead of time is a pretty good idea)! read more

Service here is impeccable! I did not feel rushed at all, and was able to enjoy my brunch. I ordered the baked eggs which were fabulous with runny yolks and a crispy bread crumb topping. Had no idea they were booked out till January... the host took our name and phone and said there's a small chance we could get a table but she would call us if they're was one that opened up. She ended up calling us and we had one of the best breakfasts I've had. I was a little over served the night before so this was reviving. I can see why it takes so long to get into this place. Also something that I appreciate are the prices. This place could be charging $30 for their eggs Benedict's but it's like $16 and everything is very affordable for how great this place is. This place is a Seattle Gem! We were lucky enough to get reservations in time for our stay here in Seattle! Very low key vibe in here and it feels very homey, warm, and welcoming. The service here is the best out of all the restaurants I've tried during my stay. Super sweet ladies! Ordered the French onion soup and it was the first time I've ever had it. It was very flavorful and the cheese was so delicious! It balanced well with the onion and the soaked bread inside the soup. We also had cilbir which is poached eggs and delicious garlic yogurt. I never had a Turkish breakfast item like this, but I'm so glad I tried it! The eggs were beautifully poached and runny, just the way I like it. It balanced well with the garlic yogurt, mint, and dill. Lastly, we had the Dutch baby (savory). It was so good ! It reminded me of a quiche and it was great. I think this was my favorite item from this place. Keep in mind it does take a while to make, so I suggest you order a Dutch baby before you order your other items (if you get any). The waitress told us to add some maple syrup on top too because it gives it a different but tasty flavor. It was sweet and salty and I think those combos go very well together with this dish. I just used my knife to dip in the cup and placed it onto my pieces of Dutch baby. I highly recommend this place! When we come back to Seattle, this will be the first place I visit! read more

We had the special smoked trout Benedict, the TPC breakfast, the fritter special, and the blueberry ricotta Dutch baby. The Benedict was delicious, and Smokey with trout, and the house potatoes were yummy! The TPC breaky was great, it looked a little weird when it arrived, but the toast was crispy and yummy, bacon was perfectly cooked-great consistency, and the tomato added good acidity to the dish, just wish there was one more egg. We FINALLY were able to get a reservation here. After trying to check it out a couple of times pre-COVID there was always a really long line and reservations were always booked. I was looking for a perfect brunch spot for my boyfriend's birthday and thought I would see if we could get a reservation. I checked out their site and saw that they had one reservation left at 1:30, so of course I booked it. When I booked it, I mentioned in the notes that it was my boyfriend's birthday. As we arrived, we were greeted right as we walked in and they even said "Happy Birthday" to my boyfriend. Which I was immediately impressed by since most restaurants do not pay attention to the comments. Now, let's get to the food - we started off with the Indian fry bread which was really good. The jam was really good too! I love, love Dutch babies so of course that's what I ordered. It was good, although I prefer mine a bit more dense & crepe like. My boyfriend ordered the eggs Benedict which wasn't your typical Benedict. As the grits, had a different take rather than a soggy English muffin which I loved & (I'm not a fan of eggs Benedict). Reminded me of little bistros in Europe. We shared pumpkin spiced dutch pancake and was delicious. It was not overly sweet which I liked a lot and was super moist and soft. 3 of us shared and was perfect amount for each. I ordered Sardine sandwich and it was good although was a bit too salty for my taste because it was combined with olives. The portion is pretty big, my friends ordered omelets and they couldn't finish. Our server was great, very attentive and explained the specials/menu very well. I was craving popovers, and heard Tilikum offered the next best option: Dutch babies. I read how the place can get packed quickly, so just in case I booked via OpenTable for 11:15 am. Given it was a weekday, it wasn't too full (only a few groups), and I was immediately seated. Keeping in mind that the Dutch Baby takes at least 20 minutes to cook, I ordered a cup of their clam chowder (they had me at bacon) to pair with the gloomy weather. The chowder was delicious, and I swear the bacon was practically melting in my mouth. If I didn't have the Dutch Baby coming, I would've ordered an entire bowl of the chowder. It certainly hit the spot, and reminded me a bit of the chowders I'd get in the East coast. Bonus star! I went with the classic Dutch Baby, as I wasn't feeling the sweeter or savory options. The classic comes sprinkled with powdered sugar, a side of syrup, and a lemon for you to sprinkle over if desired. After pouring a bit of the syrup (which was more than enough), I opted not to use the lemon as the Dutch Baby was delicious. Its served on a mini cast iron, so it will cook/stick to the edge if you don't delicately manuever your knife under it to release it. It was perfect though, and hit the spot. I definitely want to come back and try their sweet option. Bonus: Tilikum Place Cafe is a 10-15 minute walk to the Space Needle, or a 20-30 minute walk to Pike Place. So you can walk off your meal (or any guilt). :) If you're coming here on the weekend, or during high tourist season, book via Open Table and be mindful of meal prep times. read more

It was sweet but not overly sweet, crispy around the edges and would melt in your mouth. Make sure you order them right away cuz they take about 30 minutes. Hang back with a coffee or a mimosa ;) in the meantime and enjoy the hustle of the city from a window seat. Keep in mind that the wait time for their reservation is weeks - yes two WEEKS. What a little gem Tilikum Place Cafe is. This was my first time here after waiting months for a brunch spot. And it was well worth the wait. Came here on a typical chilly, grey Seattle summer/fall day and the food sure helped my mood. My boyfriend and I shared the TPC Breakfast plate. Each item was cooked perfectly; nice and crispy bacons juicy sausage, egg over easy. The French onion soup was delicious and very flavorful with the perfect amount of melted cheese. The sweet dutch baby was the star of the show though. Crispy crust on the edges but warm and gooey on the inside. Some of the blueberries were nice and melted and others bursted in your mouth. The best part was that it wasn't too sweet. Could have definitely had one all to myself. First I must say, this is such an alluring & elegant restaurant. Went for breakfast & had a scrumptious Dutch baby paired with a robust latte. Our waitress can tell we were from out of town & guided us sweetly through the menu. The noise in the dining area was kept to a minimum which made it feel like you were in a romantic novel. Tilikum Place is my favorite brunch spot! Like this is the place I constantly crave when I am in Seattle and outside of it. It's magical, and gives me all the happy feels. I used to live right down the street so the boo and I would come whenever we were having a lazy weekend or just wanted something delicious that wasn't Din Tai Fung (our other favorite spot to eat at on the weekends). They get packed and the reservations fill up, but we've always had success walking over to ask about the wait or calling. They've always managed to fit us in and we always leave happy and full. If you've read my other reviews for brunch spots, then you know that I love Eggs Benedict. The ones here are special! They've got a rotating menu so it's always a fun surprise when we show up, but I know it's going to be delicious! The Dungeness Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and Beef Brisket Eggs Benedict are my favorites. The eggs are always perfectly cooked and the flavors are incredible. I think their omelets are good, but less special. The Dutch Babies are also fun! I'm more of a savory brunch person but sometimes I'll share a sweet Dutch Baby with others.
