She kept us updated throughout the process, and our car arrived right on schedule in March. Going into delivery day, I was honestly prepared for the typical dealership experience where you have to say no over and over to extended warranties and add-ons. Fortunately, that wasn't the case at all. The whole process was smooth, fast, and very respectful. Angel, the finance manager, was a pleasure to work with. He was efficient, professional, and didn't feel predatory or salesy, which we really appreciated. I only found out about the recall when the paint started peeling in May of 2026, and that's also when I learned that the recall only lasted till May of 2025. So I had to pay full price at Maaco on Harbor Blvd. to get the car repainted instead of getting it free since I didn't know anything about the problem before the recall expired. And while the car was at Maaco getting repainted, the brake line started leaking. They called the mechanics at Rallysport across the street, and they discovered that the whole underside of the car is corroded. The mechanic even suggested that the car had to have more miles on it than the odometer said judging from the amount of rust and the wear on the brake pads. But at least the brakes failed when it was in the shop rather than when I was out driving...

I had been here once before and had a great experience, so when my car's AT light went on…read moreunexpectedly one night I called them first thing the next morning to see if they could get it in. They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.

This should be a straightforward question, yet I can't seem to get a clear or knowledgeable response from anyone. For a large, well-known dealership, the lack of communication and understanding around the EV tax credit program is disappointing. I expected much better follow-through and customer support, especially on something this important and time-sensitive. At this point, I'm just looking for accountability and a clear answer. Now mind you NORMALLY when you walk up to a parts counter (there are associates eager to help you) so I questioned why it's taken so long and still don't see anyone helping. So I pop my head into the office next to the parts counter and ask the employee if there was anyone helping the parts department? Meanwhile, you have 6 or so sales guys staring into their computers and NO HELP FOR THE PARTS DEPARTMENT. His response was, we've called them and they're on their way. So I ask, on their way from where? He says, from another location (because we're remodeling). This was so inconsiderate to have us waiting with no knowledge of any remodeling. No one explained that the Parts department had remodeling issues and that there was no one to help unless they were called to come from another location. Had us waiting (not knowing the situation). Was there for 15 minutes without any communication of parts being remodeled. It would help to POST A NOTE, HAVE YOUR EMPLOYEES INFORM CUSTOMERS THERE IS A WAIT BECAUSE THE PARTS PERSON IS COMING FROM ANOTHER LOCATION. DO NOT HAVE US JUST STANDING THERE WONDERING. So I left and went to CARSON where I was greeted by two extremely helpful Parts Guys! Like I said, GET IT TOGETHER HARBOR HYUNDAI...LEARN HOW TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

I am not a yelp person but after the customer service here it really lacks. Twice here for a no start issue on a 6 month old car and the dealer says everything is fine. They said after charging the battery it test fine. Well why did they have to charge the battery if everything is fine? They could not answer that question. They also say the parasitic draw is within factory specs. I asked for those specs and they could not produce them. I asked to see the voltage readings of their load test on the battery. Said they would get them but never did. Being a 30 year mechanic myself I have the tools to test batteries. You can see the 10.53v static the morning we took it back to the dealer and drops below 10v under load. Tried to show my findings to the service writer but they could have cared less but that shows lack of experience of their part. All it needs is a battery which I would just change myself but it's under warranty. If it was one of my customers I would recommend a battery replacement so hey don't get stranded. Hope this helps someone to ask question with getting service here. Edit- it's time to lawyer up against this place and get SOA involved. They found the electrical part that's drawing the voltage on the battery but won't cover it under warranty because the rear truck latch body lines don't like up perfect. The part they say is bad is the rear truck actuator. Well if you walk around and look at other outback's on the lot the trunk body lines don't line up either so it's an adjustment issue from the factory. When this was brought up to the service advisor they had nothing to say about it. Vehicle has not been in an accident, clean CarFax and all. Now they want to chart $1300 to install a part that cost $340 and takes less than an hour to install but they say takes 5. All they are trying to do is get us to pay for the diagnostic tile for warranty. With me being a 30 year mechanic I know how to check for draws and spent the 10 minutes to check the draw on the actuator and that not even the issue. Time to let the lawyers deal with it read more

I had the worst customer service experience of my life at Timmons Subaru this weekend. While my sales associate was kind and professional, my interaction with manager Ratana "RC" Chhor was shockingly unprofessional. I came to purchase a vehicle with a serious offer, a good trade-in, a sizable cash down payment, and an excellent credit score of 845. My goal was to make a fair deal that satisfied both my needs and their sales objectives. To demonstrate my seriousness and willingness to negotiate, I visited Timmons two days in a row and even raised my offer by $1,000 beyond my initial limit. I made it clear I was ready to buy immediately. Despite this, RC made it evident that he wasn't interested in making the sale, displaying the following unacceptable behaviors: 1. Condescension: He said to me, "You understand this is a business, right? Like, we're here to make money." 2. Belittling: He dismissed my offer by saying, "If that's your number, then you can't afford this car." 3. Gaslighting: RC undermined a prior negotiation I had with another manager, Tony, saying, "The deal you had yesterday wasn't real. He was just trying to get you to commit. You never actually shook on it." He then raised the price by $1,300, effectively dismissing any previous conversation I had with Tony. 4. Dishonesty: RC claimed, "The car has only been here for 10 days," when both the website and sales report showed it had been on the lot for 25 days. 5. Insulting: At one point, he remarked, "I'm not in the business of helping you pay for the car." Ultimately, RC was completely intransigent, letting his pride override reason. He chose to lose the deal entirely rather than compromise to secure a satisfied and loyal customer. My experience was a waste of time, and I am both shocked and deeply disappointed that RC sabotaged the sale simply to "hold the line" on price. After 15 years of being a loyal Subaru owner, it's disheartening that this is how my relationship with the brand had to end. read more

Worst experience in my 25 plus years of serving our great country. THIS DEALERSHIP DOES NOT CARE ABOUT COMBAT VETERANS. Their website depicts treatment for HEROES (Military, Police, Fire, Education)" At Timmons Subaru, we believe that the brave men and women who make a difference deserve just a little bit more." However, this is by far false advertising, the salesperson Mitch spoke to me in detail about the service to our country, and terrorism, giving me the impression he was going to go assist me the best he can in order to try and purchase and or lease a vehicle, yet we spoke once on the phone (31 Dec 15), he told me he would call me back and when I asked if the news was good or bad, he related good, yet, he never returned my call. I made an attempt to call him on 1 Jan 16, in regards to a vehicle, left a detailed message, and he never returned my call, nor an e-mail I sent. I then called and left a message to a sales manager named April, left her a detailed message as well, and never received a call back. I then called on 2 Jan 15, and asked to speak to a General Manager, the reception then asked me what department...I then paused for a moment, and repeated myself, she was lost, she told me a business manager would be in on Monday, I then paused again, shaking my head. I then asked how about a sales manager, she transferred me to an individual who did not give have a name listed on his recording machine, another detailed message left, and again no call back. I just do not understand as to why nobody returned my calls, or followed up with me in regards to the sale or lease of a vehicle, negative news should be treated the same as positive, communicated immediately. I highly do not recommend this dealership. After deploying and fighting for our country in two separate conflicts, the least someone could do is acknowledge me and return my calls fo the sacrifices I have chosen to make. read more

I was already 100% set on buying a Honda at a nearby dealer after looking at cars at a few dodge, honda, kia, and toyota dealerships, but I decided to stop by Timmons Subaru just to see what they had on the lot since I'd always liked Subaru's as well. Gary was the guy that helped us look at a few cars right when we got there. He explained the features, pros/cons of the different makes and models, and basically just gave a lot of insight into the cars. And within half an hour, I'd forgotten about the Honda and was already thinking of what color would look the nicest on my new Subaru. One of the main things that convinced me to buy a car at this dealer was simply the great buying experience with Gary. He wasn't a super pushy, in your face kind of sales person (cough cough Toyota dealers), and he made the buying experience as non-stressful as possible. After a few weeks and with some helpful info on the benefits of ordering a car, my order was placed and the car was ready at the dealer at the exact date I was told. But Gary wasn't the only one that was a help, Miles (Sales & Leasing Consultant), was also a great help when the final purchase was being done. Even after the dealership was closed, they both stayed behind to make sure I was comfortable with my new car since it had A LOT more features than my previous daily driver (Gary explaining all the features, and Miles on stand-by in case I had any other questions). Came in about a week ago and wanted to see what I could maybe get for my trade in and see if something could get worked out to get me a WRX. I had just had a bad experience at another Subaru dealer in Orange County so was not feeling confident. I came in talked to Russell. He explained a few things to me and gave me a few payment options. Said I wanted to think about it. Was not pressured and Russell was very nice. A few days later talked to Russell on the phone and he answered my questions. Ended up talking to him several times throughout the day about down payments and pretty much worked out a lot of the details over the phone, which was nice. came in that day after work Russell took care of me and didn't feel like he was taking advantage of me. While we were waiting for the credit we were just walking around the lot looking at cars wasting time and Russell would check in us to make sure we were OK or needed anything. Just had the best car buying experience of my life. Dave Martin could not have been more professional, more polite and more patient with us. The experience started before we got to the dealership. He communicated frequently and effectively. He never harried or hurried us and was calm when we told him that we were evaluating multiple options. When we arrived at the dealership he could not have been better. He calmly explained features and helped us through a decision process. we never felt pushed or even guided to a decision. He spent so much time with us that I almost felt guilty about monopolizing his time. He quickly delivered to us a very fair deal. ( I was thrilled about the price). He walked us through the paperwork and then handed us off to Mike Campion, the finance manager at Timmons Subaru. Mike was engaging and very competent. One of the easiest car buying experiences I've ever had. I inquired about a 2025 Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition online and Timmons Subaru reached out to me and was able to help me walk through the process of trading-up from my 2020 Outback. They answered all my questions and we set up date/time to meet at the dealership. When I arrived, Sabri met me and we went straight to the car for a test drive. He was very nice and personable which is essential when it comes to trusting a car salesman. When we got back, we went over which options would fit my financial needs best, and Sabri and the rest of the team were very quick to crunch the numbers. They quickly showed me the numbers within my range, and it was a done deal. From the arrival, to the test drive, to paperwork, and getting the keys, it was all just about 3 hours. I went to a few dealerships before this, but then talked to Eddie on the phone about their inventory/what I was looking for at my price and he was able to get me to drive an hour out to talk to them. He got me set up with the vehicle, then RC came out and was able to get me all the features I wanted at the price point I needed. Then Miles did a great job explaining all the following documents and fees, answering my questions and working with me to be sure everything was correct before signing. Such a great attitude and Joy to work miles, I appreciated the extra time I know I took reading through the paperwork. Then seeing Eddie again, he took the time to go over all the car features/technology to be sure I understood it before I drove off even after I already bought it, something I really appreciated and didn't expect. I needed a new car & was searching everywhere for the best prices. I saw there ad on Facebook and texted them to make an appointment for Saturday. I went to check out the car and did a test drive still not sure after the drive if I wanted to get the car because it was a small dealership and people are always hesitant buying from those. We talked numbers inside after the test drive and we both were on the same page with what I wanted to pay and he would let the car go for. After more talking to them being very accommodating and helpful I was very interested. He let me take it to my own mechanic for an inspection and helped with the charges and service. They can offer you a warranty which always makes you feel more comfortable. When they fixed my car they also came and picked it up and dropped it off at my convenience.
