Update: Stopped in today and service was much better. I tried the lobster taco and wasn't impressed (especially for $7.50), but the black'n'blue and drunken piggy were once again phenomenal. The queso and pineapple coconut margarita did not disappoint. My boyfriend has dubbed it the best taco joint in Greenville, so I'm sure we'll be back soon! Food- Food was great. I tried the drunken piggy and bang bang shrimp tacos and the street corn. Both blew me away. I tried my boyfriend's black'n'blue taco and was very pleased as well. All had a lot of flavor and were huge. Drinks- Knocked my socks off. The strawberry margarita was one of the best cocktails I have had lately. When our waiter came, he said no one was supposed to be seated there, and asked us to move to a booth. While walking to the booth, another group was seated there. We returned to the original table. Halfway through our meal, a manager came out and asked if she could pull our table back a few feet to make room for a large group coming. I want to love this place but I just like it. The food items can be hit and miss. They offer Dos Equis beer specials and the bang bang shrimp taco is wonderful (grilled or fried). The taco prices are on the high side for the size, averaging $4 each. They offer a vegetarian taco option called veg head but like most vegetarian meals, it needs a bit more love and care with the seasoning, a bit too bland. The jalapeno stuffed appetizer is very poorly made, expensive, and not flavorful. Nachos were good and service is great. The decor is super fun and they have huge TVs that show popular sports games. Overall very impressed with Tipsy Taco and will definitely be going back in the future. My husband and I enjoyed the cuban restaurant that had been at this location previously and the new layout is basically identical. Lots of seating however relatively small bar. Personally I don't mind paying for chips and salsa but they are not free here. We ordered the trio of dips: queso (by far the best of the three), bean dip (good but they put a lot of pico de gallo on top so it was overwhelming tasting of cilantro which was not my favorite); and the house salsa (good but pretty standard salsa). The chips were very good, thin and salty, and they provided more than enough for two people. My husband ordered a draft beer- cold and fresh and I ordered the red sangria which was delicious. If you like a sweet sangria this is not for you. It was pretty dry and full of fresh fruit, very refreshing and drinkable! For our entree we ordered the filet and chicken fajitas for two. Compared to some other Mexican restaurants around there was significantly less meat; however the meat is of much higher quality and was cooked perfectly. The fajitas came out piping hot and sizzling! They provide tortillas and all the fixings as well as rice and beans. It was plenty of food for two! We also ordered a side of the mexican corn off the cob. Possibly the worst dining experience I've ever had. Our party of eight waited an hour, while EVERY party after us sat almost immediately, including a party of 11. Pointed this out to the hostesses multiple times who finally responded that management would buy us appetizerS (emphasis on the plural). There was also a table that was plenty large for our party that sat empty the entire two hours we were there. When I asked about it the hostess said that the owner had reserved it all night. Once seated, service was normal, no complaints. Food arrived and was below average. Tacos are overpriced for basic meat and pre-shredded cheddar cheese. Due to a death in the family, my dinner partner was unable to join me last night, but I had an alright meal alone. I had two Old School tacos; one hard shell and one soft. I also had the chips and black bean/corn/feta salsa and some queso. The food was great as expected. My margarita was also tasty. We had Tipsy Taco catered for our sons graduation party because it is his favorite restaurant. Delivery/set up was on time and friendly. I was a little worried about having enough food since there were several teenage boys eating along with 30 planned quests but we ended up having about 50 people altogether and had plenty. I've been here several times and I would say I've received a different experience every time. Tonight was probably the worst experience I've had with Tipsy Taco. My wife and I first ordered two cocktails and an appetizer which came quickly. We then ordered our meal and this took over a hour to get to our table. On top of that the waitress didn't offer to give us the app for free or any incentive to come back after the extremely slow service. Each time I've been here I've tried something different and I have to say the food is just ok. Nothing spectacular. We first tried this new joint a few days ago and like it so much, we went back the very next day! We tried the fresh chicharones and stuffed jalapenos appetizers. Both of these were fantastic - I've never had chicharones (pork rinds) with such a fluffy texture! We liked them both so much we almost ordered more of each, but ended up ordering more of the stuffed jalapenos only. We ordered these again when we returned the next day - they are delish. No breading, which is unusual, but instead just wrapped in bacon. My only complaint is pricing seems a little high, at $6.50 for only 4 stuffed jalapenos. We tried several of the tacos and loved them all. They have a nice variety of more gourmet taco options, and each has three different shells to choose from. The tacos are mostly $3-$4 each, with some $8-$10 options for filet or lobster. We stuck with the $3-$4 price range and were pleasantly surprised at how stuffed they were, which mostly justified the price. We also tried the chicken tortilla soup which was superbly presented and chock full of avocado and other accompaniments. It was well priced at $4 but needed more seasoning. Still, I'd order it again. We also tried two of the brunch dishes the next day (yes, they serve brunch! woo hoo!) and enjoyed each of those as well. With the brunch dishes, we felt pricing was generally high compared to pricing of brunch mains at other local restaurants. Almost all prices could come down by about 20% and I'd be happier. Full tequila menu available, and $2.50 Dos Equis on draft every day, all the time. (This Dox Equis pricing I like, actually!) They also offer a full, and huge, bar, but for us these two points are the highlights. One negative is hat my benchmark tequila shot, Jose Cuervo Tradicional (aka Cuervo gold) is $6.50 a shot. My benchmark on this item is it should be no more than $5/shot, so I begrudge this price a little; a 20 % reduction would put it on line. Service had some hiccups are first day but then cleared up, and was fine the second day. From the beige location in a generic looking strip mall you don't expect much in the way of decor, and WOW, what a surprise! It has been very intentionally designed and styled to be a very fun atmosphere, and has a lot of personality that you'd never suspect from the exterior. We consider this a new place on our rotation that we'll be returning to regularly. read more

The jalapeño poppers are good-simple and NOT fried, which is fantastic. The ground beef tacos are pretty standard, but the chicken tacos have a lot of flavor and are delicious. The chips that came with it less than impressive, Thin and flavorless. the fillet mignon burrito was delicious, "amazing" and worth the 15.75 ( +0.75 for a tbsp of sour cream) the chicken burrito was "not bland" and had plenty of rice. we liked the Togo containers which were spill-proof. The decor is not in your face Mexican. Clean and open, you will know you are in a Mexican joint but not overdone. The waitstaff was very polite and attentive. I sat at the bar since it was later in the evening and wanted to watch the football game that was on. Service was quick and very polite. They have a great deal on Dos Equis so I went with that as my drink of choice for the night. They serve it in an awesome chalice/goblet/glass thing that's really cool. They have flavored tequila shots too which looked enticing but I had to drive home. But several others at the bar were partaking. This is one of my favorite Tipsy locations. I've never had anything from the menu that I didn't enjoy. I visited the Pelham location for Cinco De Mayo. It was packed.. understandably so.. therefore the atmosphere wasn't what it usually is. There was live music for a portion of the evening and then the music they played over the speakers after that it was... less than wonderful. I was pleased with everything I tried but I ordered a kahuna tuna taco (it's usually my favorite) which I was not overly pleased with. The tuna is served rare and usually has a wonderful sear on the outside.. but it was burnt. Not even a little bit. Looked burnt.. tasted burnt.. made my eyes water BURNT. Tipsy Taco has been a great location to visit on Sundays. We've been by several times and generally had great experiences, though the last visit on Sunday was fairly slow. For an appetizer I ordered the Queso Dip and the Chicharrones. If you are thinking of Columbian Chicharrones, you might be disappointed to learn these are basically pork rinds. You should however give these a try, the pork rinds covered in chili salt are amazing. They are also very good with the Queso Dip. For my entree, I always order the tacos, they range in price from $3 to $6.50. Though I've tried several of them, my favorites is the Bang Bang Shrimp. I think it's difficult to screw up a Shrimp Taco so I might be giving too much credit here, but I love this taco and the sweet chili sauce they use. The Seoul City Taco is also pretty decent, though I dearly wish they would use Kimchi instead of the cabbage cucumber, radish. I've also tried several of their tacos with the Chipotle BBQ. The BBQ sauce is tasty, but it's very sweet and is usually the only thing I end up tasting. Overall, it's a great location to take the family and I've never had a bad experience. read more

Every time we walk in we are happily greeted. They have accommodated our request to sit in a certain area as well. The queso is fantastic, chips are always light and crispy, tacos are full of flavor and the shrimp quesadilla is my favorite. They are always very attentive and keep our glasses full.
