This sandwich contains thinly sliced ham AND milanesa style meat (breaded meat) with thinly sliced cheese and a relish of diced chili and other goodness. I can't state enough how tasty this was -- and it seemed even better on a chilly day. The second time I visited I went for what they're known for: their ground beef empanadas. Clearly these are made in house as the breaded part was fresh, spongy - but firm enough to maintain it's integrity and house the ground beef inside. I visited after seeing many reviews for their sandwiches. I had a large submarine and a beef empanada. I thought the empanada was very good but I don't have much experience eating these. It was tasty and quite juicy. For me, it's something I would order again. The sandwich was huge and pretty good. The price is right but I felt it's taste was something I can make at home. The meat slices were ok. What I liked was the texture of the bread and the peppers they put in the sandwich. I would go back to try the beef sandwich. My favorite is the Milanesa sandwich, they have small and large sized sandwich's but it's like a $2 difference to upgrade to a large sandwich...TREAT YOURSELF. They do have cold subs as well. They're also really well known for their empanadas, and their seasoned fries. They do have seating inside for people who prefer to eat there. Seating is relatively limited but most people order to go so it's never hard to find a table. Do not let the long lines deter you from trying this place out--lines move fast and orders come out pretty quick (roughly 15-20 minutes). read more

I came to know this hidden gem in El Monte through the introduction of my Argentinian friend who keeps bragging about how good the foods are at this place. We finally made it to this shop today with our son who is visiting us from San Diego. My first impression was with the long lines. I suspected that the food must be good with that many people waiting in line. My impression was right. When we got to the ordering counter, we discovered that Tito's was supposed to have the best sandwiches and fried chickens in town too. So we ordered a couple of freshly made sandwiches and a bucket( actually a bag ) of spicy chickens and of course the beef empanada. The sandwiches were very good with fresh fluffy bread and flavorful fillings. The empanada were excellent but not as good as what I had from my friend's home baked ones. The real star of Tito's, in my opinion, was the spicy fried chicken. They were not overly battered and the they were crunchy outside and tender inside. The spicy level was just right to produce the appropriate kick. Don't get discouraged with the lone line, it tends to move quickly. We waited in line for only around 15 minutes and got our food. Parking is a bit of problem though. You can find parking on the street too. read more

Staff was friendly, parking was a breeze. Food was fresh and hot. Lomo had good flavors but was tough Beef milanesa was soggy and i opened it 30 seconds after it crossed the counter. It steamed out in the bread. Empanadas were bready but beef mixture was flavorful. Tito's known for their empanadas in the SGV area. I found this hidden spot throught yelp and driving by everyday seeing that long line. It has to be good. Then i see all the good reviews on yelp and from friends, NO I can't miss it. For a while, what held me back was the long line out the door. But suprisingly it goes by very quickly. I came here on a weekday at 10 am, thinking I should be in and out. NOPE. there was already a long line. But I only waited for 5-10 minutes to get to my turn. On the menu, besides the empanadas, they have hot/cold sandwiches, chicken wings, seasoned fries and ect. You will see they specifically mark the most popular items, you will have some idea on what to order. Of course the staff will be happy to answer your questions. The lady at the cashier was being patient with me with all the questions being it was my first time. I ordered the beef (de res), chicken (de gallo) empanada and a small ribeye sandwich. YEA. people aren't playin when they say the empanadas are amazing. They are very flavorful and delicious. The ribeye on the sandwich is so juicy and tender topped with the sauteed onions. The sandwich portion is pretty big for a small size. I can imagine the large size. Prices are about $4 difference. They also have a meat deli section where you can pick up meat/deli in bulk and some argentine grorcies! I do want to come back for the chicken wings because they look soooo crispy. Growing up in the area, this place has always been the place to go for sandwiches and empanadas. Even now it's still the only Argentinian restaurant in the whole San Gabriel valley. The interior has not changed since I was a kid, but it holds up well. It flows through the groceries, counters, wine and the dining table area. The service is always top notch, everyone knows their job, working at a high pace but, with all the efficiency of it they make most of their food ahead of time (especially with the demand) the quality can sometimes be affected by the quantity. I absolutely love this place. My coworker from years ago I mentioned this place to me and she raved about the Milanesa Sandwich, I tried it but I wasn't a huge fan. Don't get me wrong it was still delicious. But boy I fell in love with the empanadas. I swear this place has the best empanadas I have ever put in my mouth. I love both the chicken and beef and they always have an olive in it my fave. I always think the chicken is gonna be dry but it's always moist !! The inside is adequate with tables to sit and enjoy your meal, but... Lunch time is a zoo. Common to see loooong lines. Pro tip-order on line and pick up. Staff has been there for years. It's not that they/re not friendly, they just are so busy they need to keep the line moving. They have beef and chicken Empanadas that are well made with crust that is not very greasy and are sweet and savory with bits of olives. People order a variety of hot or cold subs and are filled with meats and cold cuts. Pastrami had eggs and chili peppers inside.
