If you want a quick, healthy, and clean meal, this is the place to be. It's not superb but it is good food, just a little bit on the pricey side. When my fiancé & I come here we end up spending around $70 for the both of us, which is twice what it should be for a quick lunch or dinner. The price compared to what we're getting steers us away from coming here a lot. All that being said, my favorite items are the street corn en fuego bowl with chicken tinga and tortilla soup. The bowl has such a great balance of flavors and textures, and the tortilla soup is one of my favorites I've had. I have been going there for over a year now. It's very convenient how you can just sit at a table, scan a QR code and order from your phone (you can still order from the counter if you want). They let you customize your tacos. They have a few options for tortilla (corn, blue corn, lettuce), which is nice for gluten free but also for keeping it low carb. Their guac and chips is quite dangerous, it's so good you might get full before your tacos are served, but still a must. They put some pomegranate on the guac and serve it with plantain chips. Their tacos options are all good, so I always have to get one of each meats and fish. The mushroom taco is good but was a bit on the sweeter side, which I don't like but that's my preference. They also use gluten free batter for their fried fish and mushroom. It's usually crowded, but I never had issues finding a table. read more

Oooo Tocaya you so PRETTY! I love the ambiance here. The music was a little clubby, but the sun was out, people were sipping cocktails and I was there for it. The menu features your typical burritos, quesadillas, salads, tacos etc. but with a healthy twist. They had a lot of vegan/veg meat options, a kids menu, alcohol and agua frescas. The patio/dining area is everything. I felt super relaxed surrounded by plants and having the space be open to the outside. It's truly a great atmosphere. Person at the register was very kind and professional! I ordered a taco salad with the tinga chicken. I enjoyed the tortilla strips that gave it that extra crunch. The chicken was moist and had a nice tomato flavor, but the rest of the salad was ok. I had a bite of my husband's burrito and it was also good, but not outstanding. We shared the plantain chips and they were BOMB! Their salsa is very tasty too. I would return here because overall it was a nice experience and the food was good, but not outstanding in my opinion If you really had a hankering for authentic Mexican food, this would not be the place to come too. I still miss the old Sportsmen's Lodge, a lot. The waterfall, the pond, the rugged, wild nature of the walk paths. I wish they hadn't done the remodel. That being said, I'll give the nod to Tocaya for having delicious fish tacos! The employees are extremely friendly, the fish is fresh and lightly battered, nice and crispy. It's a good portion for the price, and presentation is pretty. They offer a $2.00 Taco Tuesday deal. They serve alcohol too, which is always welcome! The outdoor seating is comfortable and dog friendly. I dislike that they are cashless, and I generally avoid cashless places (knocks them down a star). However, I find myself being won over enough by Tocaya that I've gone twice now. I will always dislike the whole cashless thing and I think it's wrong. We'll see if I take a stand on the issue or if I come back for Round 3 of fish tacos. read more

It's over on the edge of the Sportsmen's Lodge, but you're able to park close to it if you drive past the parking gate and swing around the lot. The food here is decent and ideal for a fix. Tacos and guacamole with chips are my go-tos when I dine in. When I ordered for pickup, though, I can't say I was too impressed. The tortilla on the tacos get soggy super fast, and the garnishes lost their snazziness. Eat on-site for best results! read more

Was craving a good salad so my sister and I decided to get Tocaya. I got the taco salad and she got the tocaya salad. I didn't get any meat on my taco salad because I wasn't in the mood. I also switched to the cilantro lime dressing (which they charged for). I came home and ate it, and was somewhat disappointed. I can count the amount of beans and corn on one hand. There was barely anything in there - I'm not sure if it's because we ordered to go or what. It tasted okay, but barely had any flavor. Not only was the food exceptional, the wait time was short and the staff was friendly. I ordered the protein bowl with vegan lime chicken. My husband got a breakfast burrito. We also ordered margaritas and chips/salsa. Everything was delicious. The food is very filling without feeling heavy or greasy - it's a nice clean alternative. I love this place so much! I was super excited when we got one in the valley and I have a delicious experience every time! The inside is so nice and it's just a great place to sit and have dinner or lunch. Such great vibes here. This time I ordered one of their bowls. It had cauliflower rice, avocados, beans, mushrooms, a GIANT egg omelet on top, and cheese. It was so delicious! Their flavors are 10/10 every time I try something new. I'm not typically a Mexican food person, but they do it in a way that I absolutely love. I love that they have options for every persons dietary restrictions. Meat, tofu, shrimp, etc! Lived in Studio City years ago, and this was a wedding venue and hotel previously, with a creek and koi fish. So after all these years, I dropped in to see the newly reimagined plaza. I didn't walk through it all, just headed over to Tocaya for Taco Tuesday's. Parking was seamless. Grabbed a ticket and found a spot right out front. Headed in on this rainy day and ordered at the counter. A handful of vegan tacos, tea, and chips and salsa. Everything was delicious as expected. And also it's cool, they have the calorie count listed on the menu board. Helps a girl make better decisions, ya know? My order was a bit scrambled but staff was kind and just rung me up from my seating area. Which I appreciate for the mishap. All in all, it was a peaceful, cozy, yummy experience. When I'm back in studio city, home hunting this will be my go-to vegan spot from now on. I really enjoyed the rustic vibes and the vegan food.
