It's an overpriced dive , go down the road to Chinese buffet for an eight of the price

Took my nephew here since he loves hibachi. Love the atmosphere and the wait staff was very friendly and patient with my 9 year old nephew! Not to mention, the food was delicious. My nephew and fiancée ordered the steak and I got the chicken and scallops. The food was fresh, delicious, and "so juicy" as my nephew says. My girlfriend myself and 4 other friends went last night. We sat at one of the grill tables, after they turned it on and it took forever for someone to come out and tell us the grill wasn't working after we had already ordered drinks and the salads and soup was brought out. They finally moved us to another grill. The guy doing the cooking had almost no personality while the other tables looked and sounded a lot more entertaining. There was also another couple with us at the table. We were seated at around 615 and didn't leave until 915. The reason being was that the server had charged the other couple at the table for my girlfriend's bill and mine and charged us for theirs. She handed us their cards and them ours. It took about 20 minutes for them to fix the issue. The manager did apologize as well as the server, but the only thing the manager did to make up for it is take one drink off of each of our tabs. Also they still charged an 18 percent gratuity randomly on two of our guests bill without informing any of us. After we addressed the issue, it was only then that the server decided to tell us that they always charge an 18 percent gratuity to guests of 6 or more. The manager could have at least waived that fee as well, but did not. Our guests who joined us, as well as my girlfriend and I all agreed we would never patronize this restaurant again. They could have done more to make up for all these mistakes. read more

Love this place! Great sushi and hibachi. You really get a TON of food and it's very good. We have been there three times and always sig at the hibachi. We have ordered everything from the hibachi seafood grill to the chicken, Delmonico, salmon, shrimp and the marinated beef. Marinated beef is my favorite - don't let the price for you. Ok Japanese Steakhouse with potential to be so much more. Soup served Luke Warm. Waiter and Hibachi Cooks do a good job. Salad is just iceberg core chunks, one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber. We came here to kick off a bachelorette party. There were 6 of us and they had trouble seating us at the regular tables despite many open tables. We rectified this by asking to sit in a booth and then adding a chair to the end of the table. We were hungry and had already waited 40 mins at this point. They were cool with it and we ordered. I pretty much ordered all spicy rolls and the kani salad and was definitely happy with them all. We had to ask them to bring the soy sauce plates and some additional napkins and such. One thing I noticed about the area, is that every restaurant asked our group beforehand if they want to split the checks. That was also done here. It made it so much easier because some people had cards and others had cash. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the food was pretty good but the service lacked. Our waiter was very nice but it seemed like they had him waitressing AND bar tending by himself when there appeared to be plenty of waiters available for the few tables that were occupied. There were even a few sitting at the empty tables at times folding napkins and stuff. We waited almost 20-30 minutes in between for everything from the moment we were seated. Our sushi sat at the bar for about 20 minutes before the waiter rushed over and gave it to us. Then he realized we still didn't have our miso or salad and apologized for it and brought that over afterwards. The food: The summer roll was OK but for $15 it was extremely small, like California roll from the mall small. I get it, it's near Rehoboth so this is all the sushi you might be able to get in the area. Then there was our hibachi meal. We both got steak with either chicken or shrimp and it did not look fresh. It had good flavor but the food was lukewarm and the veggies were over cooked. Probably because it was sitting on a plate for 30 minutes before being served. We watched our waiter run around like crazy and make all the drinks at the bar with no help. I felt bad for him. And it's the only reason I didn't send anything back. There was another group that came in after us with a different waiter and I noted the times it took for them to get their food and it was a totally different experience for them. Everything was quick and attentive as it should be. The food must not be bad from what I could tell but our experience was an unfortunate one because we were set up with the bartender who had way too many drinks to make to be waitressing. Management should get it together and properly assign tasks to their staff. Communication is key and with that many staff members perhaps assign one as a food runner in the event there is food sitting for more than 5 minutes? read more

I love everything about this place! The ambiance, the staff...everything about it is amazing. Most importantly, our chef was fantastic! Very personable and hilarious. Well to start we get there and the ac unit Is dripping after on every single table and then when I talk to the manager she seem to tell me that that happens in every single restaurant which is a bunch of bull she did not seem to give two craps about our situation and then she had the nerve to say that I was lying I tell her that I'm going out to restaurants three times a week and none of those restaurants have condensation dripping on all the guests. I made reservations for a private party weeks ahead. When my family got there they were told they could not be seated until the entire party got there. Mind you, I had a cake and needed to go in before the birthday boy. If I could give this place no stars, I would. Let me start by saying I never write reviews but I had to after yesterday. I ordered the Bushido appetizer and a Maryland roll. Maryland roll was okay but I was not given the right appetizer. I live 45 minutes from Tokyo and did not realize this until I almost got home. I threw it away because what was in the container was so disgusting it turned my stomach! Fried yams and cucumbers. I called and told them. They told me I was given the wrong order. They told me I had to dig it out of the trash and bring it in in order to prove that they gave me the wrong order. Umm, excuse me, what? Who does that? Wth would I lie about getting the wrong order, obviously the person who received my order also let you know that it was wrong, so that is all the proof you need! Very poor customer service. They don't tell you that the hibachi 11oz meal isn't actually 11oz it's more like 4 which is a huge difference when you get a combo with shrimp. I would've like to have known that before ordering. Our family really enjoys hibachi steakhouses (usually have Japanese every 2-3weeks), but really not impressed with this place. Let me start with the positives. First off I like the decor in this place, kind of has a little older/retro feel to it-and I kind of like it. The hibachi soup and salad were both very good. Actually the soup may have been the best I've had at one of these steakhouses, very deep favor. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. The service is not very good here. First off, when we arrived around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon, they made us wait 15minutes to be seated, when only 2 of their 8 hibachi tables were being used when we arrived. Table servers were also very slow as well. Now the hibachi chef was ok, but was not super interactive as you might expect with most steakhouses of this type. Also, the food was not very good. The chef basically doused the fried rice and hibachi noodles with the same light sauce that they give you in the dipping trays. Unfortunately the rice and noodles were just not good. I come here when it's January and their is nobody here. I also come when it is tourist season and the line is out the door. Sadly it will be our last. It's not the food, or the wait staff all are supreme. It is the Manager, "Mimi". You know the type of manager that does not give out her name. The one who doesn't know her managers name. We all know that one. She is highly ineffective, rude, and a poor choice to run a restaurant in any capacity. You make reservations she doesn't write them down, blames the phones when you have called a half a dozen times for hanging up on guests. I get it. It's everyone's fault except hers. Times are difficult in the restaurant business. Yet I have continued to support. I have been patient and tipped well. What I will not do is support a business that supports a manager that lacks integrity. That is a character trait that cannot be undone. read more

We stopped on the way to the Lewes ferry.. I had the salad ... Loved the house dressing... I think it was a ginger dressing maybe. My daughter had the kids chicken and we added a side of white rice. The chicken was good I tasted it myself. Also had fried rice... I personally didn't care for it. It wasn't bad but was loaded with garlic. I prefer a fried rice that is more flavored with the vegetables..and a hint of garlic not garlic as the main flavor. The place over all is really nice inside ... I have had a place in the area for well over 10 years and for some reason have never stopped by for a meal here. Boy, what a mistake! Everything about the experience was excellent. The staff was attentive, our habatchi chef was fantastic, the food portions were ample and the meal itself was delicious. That all being said, I knocked off a star because my husband's salmon was dry and overdone (we'll have remember to order it only lightly cooked). This hibachi steakhouse is quite excellent! The prices are reasonable, meat and seafood are fresh, waitress very attentive, and the portions are huge. I've worked at a hibachi steakhouse where the portions are way smaller. We had the Kyoto steak, chicken, and sukiyaki beef. I probably will not get the beef again because it was dry. The shrimp that they serve however is peeled and deveined which I appreciate. The only reason that I took one star off is because the food is overall very very salty (fried rice, veggies, as well as the meat) and the fried rice lacks veggies. read more

I went to the Tokyo Steakhouse in search of a nice sushi dinner, and my beautiful date also wanted to try the hibachi. We ordered a spicy tuna and Alaska roll. Both were decent; not the best sushi that I've had, but not as bad as some of the previous Yelpers experienced. For our entree, we decided to eat steak and salmon hibachi. As the others have said, it came with miso soup, salad, and rice. The salad had a bit too much dressing, but the rice and soup were good. The steak and salmon were both delicious. While the food was delicious, the chef lacked pizzaz and a flair for theatrics. Most hibachi chefs that I've seen in the past really get into the presentation and showmanship of preparing the food. Our chef was just plain boring. Additionally, when the check came, I had a nasty 33% surprise. Apparently, Tokyo Steakhouse adds a 33% charge to all couples who share a meal. I asked the waiter about it, and he told me that it was standard practice. I'm not sure where that is standard practice, certainly nowhere I've ever eaten. read more

We had the edamame for an appetizer which was good, but nothing special, standard edamame. The waiter provided good service and was very friendly, though he could have spaced out our meal more.
