Saturday, the day before Mother's Day, and it wasnt packed at all. Party of 9 and we sat in a big booth, with 2 chairs on the outside, which was convenient for my niece's high chair. Not much of a food selection and they no longer have the "Roma Feast", which had been an all time favorite with my family. The kids were satisfying with their food and everyone else was as well. We also ordered the onion loaf appetizer and it was quite good. Tastes like they use sweet onions and it comes with a side of barbeque sauce. I don't recall seeing any dessert selections on the menu, but it doesn't mean they dont have any, I may have just over looked it. Nice atmosphere and friendly service other than how we were greeted upon entering....No, "Hello" or "Welcome"....just a "How many?". Other than that, it was good! read more

Given the reviews on each side of the spectrum for this location, we came in with low expectations. However, got to say we enjoyed the meal and visit! Came in on a Saturday night at 8pm and waited less than 15 minutes for a table for two. Ordered the steak and mushroom flatbread appetizer and the original baby back ribs (full rack) with corn on the cob and loaded mashed potatoes on the side. The appetizer came out hot and delicious, though you can tell they didn't use the best grade steak for it. They do give a generous portion of bleu cheese, so that taste slightly overwhelmed the flatbread, but it was still a decent choice to start out meal. The ribs were perfect. They fell right off the bone and had just the right amount of flavor. Better than the ribs you'll get from Sam's Club, well worth the price, and I found I like their texture more than regular beef ribs. Our server was attentive, refilling our drinks and checking in on us. Got to say the food serving time was slow--we usually eat in 30 minutes but this meal took 1.5 hrs from waiting for the food to come out. All in all, a decent time enjoying our meal! We walked back to the Disneyland park afterwards to work off the food, so we avoided the potential headache with parking. Absolutely the best service we've had in town. From the hostess stand, to the waiter, the kitchen staff and the table bussing our experience was simply outstanding. To be honest our expectations we a little low starting out. When we called we were told the wait time was only 10-15 minutes for a party of 5, we thought for sure there was a reason. It was Saturday night at 8:00 pm and everywhere in town was upwards of an hour and a half. We were seated immediately upon entry and the staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating. Our food was perfectly cooked and so delicious we left full and satisfied. My daughters absolutely LOVED the BBQ sauce. I'm so grateful to have found this gem of anaheim. The server offered to replace it, but I opted for the braised short ribs as I did not want to wait for another steak while the rest of my party was already eating. I think a manager visit would have been appropriate, but that did not happen. Come to think of it, I didn't even get an apology. The short ribs were likely microwaved. Maybe not, but they nonetheless had a rubbery texture and off flavor. For $30 it was unremarkable at best. My wife's chicken was also over priced and under seasoned. Our server was inattentive but mostly I felt bad for him for having to work in a shabby restaurant which hasn't seen a renovation in a decade and was mostly empty during Friday night dinner service. I was nervous, because we have been to a few restaurants in the area, and we were not impressed... but, we had great service from the host, bar tender as well as our server and busser. We ordered a sampler, that was just basic fried food, nothing to write home about, but I ordered the sirloin steak and my husband ordered ribs, they were both delicious! It is what it is... and I LOVE what it is for the most part! I ordered full rack of baby backs - the other one ordered a full rack "with dry rub" and we shared an onion loaf. I haven't been to Tony Roma's in YEARS but wanted to revisit the place I ate my first ribs in Houston when I was in high school - like 20 years ago. The onion loaf was weird this time and it's obvious that they have changed their recipe (strange I seriously thought that they wouldn't have done so) since my last time eating there. It was clumpy, flaccid, and seemed WAY too greasy. But it was delicious - I just need to take ample amounts of Lipitor for the next few weeks to offset it. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the BBQ sauce was as good as I remember. My dining companion asked the server if he could get "dry rub" instead of sauce. I didn't know if it was possible here - but the server assured him that he would put it in as dry-rub. Unfortunately, the ribs arrived with nothing on them. No sauce, no rub...just an anemic looking rack of baby backs. I wish I had a photo. Pale, grey-looking, sad. If you say you can do dry-rub ribs, you should be able to. If not, don't tease your customers with saying "yes, we can." Stars for location and my order of great ribs. Lack of stars for limp greasy impotent onion loaf and a rack of "dry rub" ribs that looked like a main character from True Blood had been at work for a few minutes sucking all happiness from the plate. read more

I should not expect much from a chain restaurant in the first place. We settled for this place after The Fifth Roof Top restaurant was pre booked for a weeding. What a disappointment. Not overly busy and took 28mins for a Vodka Martini that I watched the bar tender shake in a tenderly manner in a regular glass and not a shaker before pouring into martini glass. How Do I Beat the Lunch Crowd at Disneylend? even on a Capacity or near Capacity day? Walk across Harbor Blvd to Tony Romas on 1640 Harbor Blvd. It is honestly not that far and worth the trip! I am a Regular here, every time I go to the park about every once a week around lunched, I usually ordered the Baby back ribs, No greens, No Garnish. If i have a half rack left, put them in my car, reapply extra sauce reheat at 325f convention for 20 minutes on a foil covered cooking sheet after putting it in the fridge when you stumble home.... perfect!! also good if you have the I-5 trip home munchies at 12-2 AM Driving back to Santa Clarita or like Grenada Hills. I am a Passholder since the Early 1990's and I will tell you from experience, THE PARK CAN GET CRAZY, even with a reservation to like the Blue Bayou or Storyteller Cafe in the Grand, they can still be packed to the rafters and noisy eating establishments even if you get in, I still perfer Tony Romas better... I have Eaten Here Hundreds of times, loved them all. Very Nice to have an enclave from the Crowds and Heat at Disneyland and just eat a Rack of ribs, grab a double Johnny Walker black on the rocks, sit at the tables in the Bar area, and watch TV. The original Tony Roma's in Miami was just a place like this, an atmosphere Takes you back to a time before covid, but not too far back and many places that have a 70's early 80's retro Vibe like this place are either Ran down like the Loves Franchise in the 90's, but not here. Still has the quality you'd expect from a Mid-upscale eating establishment you'd expect if you live in Irvine/ Tustin/ Newport or Laguna, Servers are friendly, accommodating, Nice. Price is what you'd expect, they sometimes have a Half Rack Lunch special for 15-17$ (i think last time i was there back in march 2020 it was $16.40) I'm so glad they made it through Covid, I don't know where i'de hang out and eat if they weren't, bringing the whole Family Reunion (10-15 people) next time I go if Dine in is up later this month. I was concerned that we would have a bad experience after reading the reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and attentive. We asked for a particular sports program and they put it on. We were a party of five who had four orders of ribs and one person got salmon. Everyone enjoyed their food. The only thing that tasted off was the rolls. One person thought they tasted sour and I didn't feel compelled to have more than one. Onion loaf appetizer was tasty and not greasy. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The place wasn't busy for a Sunday afternoon and that might be why we didn't have any food complaints but I wouldn't hesitate to come back. read more

The food is as expected, sort of middle of the road but again was perfect for us to eat some ribs and have a drink and then Uber to our hotel. It's the most expensive item on their menu and they consider it one of their specialties (according to the menu). Tony Roma's is walking distance from our overnight accommodations, so we joined a couple of friends and made the walk. It's also directly across the street from the entrance to the Big D - Disneyland - so we expected to wait for a table while nursing a cocktail and sore feet. We felt like the server didn't write down our orders which probably was the case since some things were missing and/or not included when the food was delivered. I asked if they had lemonade and he looked at me like I was crazy. He brought me what looked like lemonade but didn't taste anything like lemonade so we just asked for water. I really, really wanted to like Tony Roma's restaurant. I had heard good things from a friend that used to live in California and their product selection of meat, chicken, and ribs sure sounded good to me. On the one hand, I got the taste I was shooting for. On the other, the non-service has turned me away from considering them for future visits. This location is just outside Disneyland. There are lots of other choices in Downtown Disney to eat that are all around the same price point (which is on the high end because it's all about location, location, location). The place was pretty dead this past Sunday when we stopped in at 3:30pm. Our server ended up being the bartender for some reason. That's not usually a good thing and this case it definitely was not a good thing. I ordered the bbq chicken and my friend the full plate or ribs. We didn't get our food for over 20 minutes despite being one of only 4 tables with customers in the entire restaurant. One of the tables was a dad with two boys that were probably 4 & 5. The dad was content to let the boys run around the restaurant screaming while he ate and the staff apparently thought this was okay as well as they did nothing. That's okay, I didn't want to enjoy my time while I was there or anything. We were brought out bread when ordered and asked for more. We were told it was coming out of the oven but we didn't get more. Our waters were empty for 15 minutes and the bartender/waiter walked by a few times without stopping. During our 20 minute wait, 3 people walked up to the bar area. So the bartender stayed up there to chat with those customers instead. When our food arrived, it was really good. The BBQ sauce was spot on and was amazing! My buddy had asked for a loaded baked potato and got fries instead and I had asked for ketchup for the fries that never arrived. Our "waiter" was too busy at the bar helping the (now) 2 customers drinking up there and couldn't be bothered to remember things like our actual order or to bring things that he asked if we wanted and when we said yes, that he ignored. He did stop by two more times, finally filled up the waters, and asked if everything was "perfect." At this point we just said yes and finished our meal. It was obvious his primary concern were the two bar patrons and nobody else. We paid for our meal and I left a more generous tip than I probably should have considering the level of service. I can see why the place is empty. The best food in the world isn't going to bring in repeat customers is the service is exceptionally poor. If the place was slammed, I could see forgetting a few things, not bringing things we asked for (or that he offered to bring and we accepted), or not controlling screaming kids that are running around the establishment -- but it wasn't busy.
