My family has been going to Tony Romas for over 20 years now. It was always our go-to place for birthdays, graduations and any type of celebrations. Unfortunately over the year's many locations have now been closed and it isn't the same anymore. However we still made the drive out here since this is one of two locations left in our area. The food and service was great. As we were finishing our meal a lady in all black came up with a camera and offered to take our family picture it was complimentary she said. After we paid our bill she came running after us as we attempted to leave the restaurant telling us we need to come back for a picture. One of our family members held back and was presented with several photos to choose from and purchase! I am seriously pissed that we were lied to, rudely interrupted, and cheated! We were staying at nearby hotel and remembered all commercials for this spot as a kid and thought we'd give it a try. On a Saturday night, we were sat right away. Server took a awhile to come by and get out order started. We always order the kids food when we get drinks - it helps avoid early meltdowns while we eat. Glad we did because the food service was very slow. So why four stars? The food was actually really good. We were expecting something similar to Applebees or Chilis but it was way better. I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans were perfect, mashed potatoes weren't bland - they had a ton of flavor. But the chicken and gravy were delicious! I'd definitely order it again. My husband tried their main burger - said it was really good. The kids meals were a hot too. Mac n cheese for one, she actually ate all of it. And grilled cheese for our other, she actually ate all of it too. Anyone with kids knows this is like a mythical moment. Overall a good experience. read more

A favorite in the OC for a special occasion. We had our go-to dinner of pork ribs with Carolina honey sauce. So good, perfectly cooked and that sauce is magic. The do fantastic baked potatoes Had the half onion loaf, their specialty. The two of us could only eat half, but it reheats nicely in a toaster oven. Speaking of leftovers, we get the full rack if ribs. Can't eat more than a quarter rack, but we bring back enough for two more meals...each. read more

Sadly there are no more Tony Roma's restaurants in Hawaii, so my only alternative was to ensure that I ate here while I was on a trip to California. Luckily they accepted the Tony Roma's gift cards that I had and surprisingly the food was even better than I can remember when these restaurants were in Hawaii. We had the onion ring appetizer, braised short ribs, and the babyback ribs, which were fall off the bone superb. Despite this restaurant being in Anaheim and it was the holiday season, I guess because of the rain and the cold and probably Covid as well, there were not very many people dining that night. I still have a few more gift cards to use and I will be sure to check out other Tony Roma restaurants that I find on trips that I go to throughout the rest of this year. Okay, so I was nervous to try this place out but my boyfriend and i were at Disneyland and tired of eating in the parks. We saw this on the walk to the hotel we were staying at and he insisted we go. It was the final week of January and a weekday, so it was terribly slow inside for lunch. We were seated immediately. I used the bathroom first thing and it was super clean and well kept up, fyi. So anyways, we feasted on some lunch specials. We got the onion ring loaf thingy everyone raves about, and it was delicious. We got a half order of ribs, which were so yummy and easy to get off the bone. We had the bread which was warm and I believe sourdough? There was cooked vegetables, which I enjoyed. We feasted. Our service was fast and our waitress was incredibly friendly and fun. We really enjoyed talking to her! I would definitely recommend stopping here if you're at Disney but just sick of eating at the park eateries and need a break. It's on the way back to most hotels, but it's also an easy walk from the park and back to the park if you drove to Disney. You know, this place has such a mediocre rating, but I recommend you give them a shot and sit at the bar while you're at it. Their famous giant fried onion is literally a huge onion that's been battered and deep fried. It's pretty dope and it's cheap as a big appetizer. I also went with a burger, and it was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and came with a huge side of fries. I have to say, Five Stars to GrubHub, who have an excellent app, excellent real-time communication, and fast and reliable delivery service from our driver - Thank You, Sanjay! Sadly, no longer The Place For Ribs, based upon the Full Baby Back rack ($31.99) I received. One end charred, dry, this rack had been sitting too close to the heat way too long. No amount of bbq sauce was going to bring it back. The coleslaw was ok, and the fries flaccid. The White Cheddar Mac n Cheese was good, as were the Pork Sliders ($11.49). I know the server felt bad & he is a very nice man but this place is just no no no... we had potato skins not very warm a little microwavish, the dinner rolls were day oldish with butter that had a funk, my daughter got slider appetizer as her meal, they were blah, also microwavish, we shared a power combo sirloin, ribs, and shrimp. This is the last remaining Tony Roma's in the area, and tonight it was delicious! Amanda, our great server was terrific, and like a family friend by the end of our visit. I had the Filet medallions, which were cooked to perfection pink on the inside, with a huge baked potato, my friends had shrimp scampi which was delicious and chicken w. artichokes, also a winner! I haven't been to a Tony Roma's in ages. From what I've heard later was that most of them have been shutting down. The place was pretty empty during Sunday lunch hour. My buddies and I came here after running the Star Wars Half Marathon earlier in the morning. Honestly, we only came here because two of us was outside of Disney property and we didn't want to go through the huge line of security just to get to Downtown Disney. I ordered the full rack of their St Louis ribs. *Full rack of St Louis ribs* It came with fries and some cole slaw. The waiter also brought out some more BBQ sauce on the side. That was a nice touch, since I don't like my ribs drenched in sauce. The ribs were nice and tender. They were also meaty. Good ribs! Overall I wouldn't mind coming here again, especially if the security lines into Downtown Disney is going to be so ridiculously long. One day short of a year ago that we last visited, as we live in Arizona. Always worth the 500 mile treck, but last year was a little better. We got there as early as we could (an hour before closing), but were at the Dodger game and got there as soon as we could. The beef ribs, which is what we come for, were good and meaty, but slightly overcooked. It was my teenage nephew's first time so I was happy to tell him to order whatever he wanted. I was slightly disappointed when his plate arrived with 4 small asparagus spears. He did enjoy his meal though. My brother had the porterhouse and likened it to the one he had at Norm's this morning (weirdo). My niece's pulled pork sandwich led her to tell us of an amazing place to get one in San Diego we must try when we go this summer. Back to the star of the show, the beef ribs. Again last year they seemed bigger and meatier and for sure more tender and cooked to perfection. This year they were good, but could have been better. Again, I understand it was later in the evening, but it was the day before mother's day and a Saturday night. I will definitely be back, hopefully my experience will be back to the 5 star quality I am used to at Tony Roma's. Tony Roma's is your typical chain restaurant that is pretty much the same wherever you are so I came not really expecting anything amazing, it was simply something to fill an empty stomach after a long day at Disneyland. 5pm and there was only 3 other people sat in the bar so service was very quick and our meals were at our table within 15 minutes. The server was attentive with water refills and the food hot but as expected nothing to write home about. The Caprese Panini was actually just a toasted Sandwhich which was quite disappointing but had some good flavors going on. A satisfactory quick fix. read more
