I'm so split on this review. In a nutshell the cupcakes were tasty and we got them on a two day short notice - AWESOME. I called for custom Mario cupcakes knowing it was a short two day notice and expecting a no. I had other no's after the first baker dropped the ball and then I did when traveling for work. Tiffany said she could do them and told me to send her the online request and she's send an invoice. So, I never got a response or an invoice. I literally had no idea what I was paying but seeing as the last baker was about $6 a cupcake I figured it had to be around there. I got nervous and called the next afternoon to which she said she got the request they'd be ready the next day at my requested 11:30 time - perfect!!! This is where shit started sucking. See, the baker address is near my house.....and near the cater....and near the party venue.... my 11:30 pick up was based on this location. We left my house at 11 A.M. to get an email from her at 11:02 stating the "address of pick up" was clear across town off onion creek parkway. The hell?!?! I get on the phone and let her know we're on the way in the car. My husband is speeding at the times we could and giving me heart attacks when we couldn't getting on 35. We finally arrive at 11:31. Knock on the door of this house and a kid answers and then shuts the door on us. We, I kid you not, already running late, sat on this random house patio in 98 degrees for 6 more minutes and then tried calling her with no answer. We had to go get the food. Had to leave. I nicely left the voicemail that I'm sorry no one gave us our cupcakes but with the last minute address change and now already running late and then being left outside we'd go get cupcakes from HEB. I'd reverse my payment on Paypal. As I'm making calls to coordinate parents to help at the venue since we're late she calls three times in a row. I can finally answer and I get a "I must have just missed you" answer. Well, it is what it is. Finally after getting a guilt trip on me I finally tell her if she can deliver to the party then it'll be okay. She showed up, stood staring at me, handed them and walked away. I understand why she was upset. I hope she understands why I was upset. WORDS OF ADVICE: be sure to specify the price before 30 min to pick up and specify WHERE your pick up is. Two things you should know about me: 1. I love sweets. What a shiny object is to a kid, pastries are to me! 2. I love free. The free world, free time - free stuff rules! Well, our office management single-handedly combined my two loves into one the day they decided to give away cupcakes to the entire office. The e-mail subject line read: Free Cupcakes in the break room from your management team! That was enough for me to jump out my chair and nearly bowl over two ladies in the hallway. After nearly busting down the door, there they were: chocolate, red velvet, strawberry, vanilla. All beautiful, and all waiting on me. The third thing you should probably know about me is that I'm seriously indecisive; choices are my nemesis. But, after looking over all my options, I went with the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and pretty white heart on top. I carefully walked back to my desk, prize in hand, and noticed how huge these things were. Much bigger than your average cupcake, and slightly bigger than any other designer cupcake I've had in town. One bite and I almost lost it. There's real cocoa in that frosting, folks, I know there is! And the cake, so moist, so fluffy, so yum! The binge eater in me screamed: MORE! So, I obliged. I tried a piece of the strawberry cake with strawberry icing and I'm about 98% sure that those confectioners put real strawberries in those cakes, damn good. I also had a piece of the red velvet (yes, my eating gets out of control sometimes) and they were just as moist as my chocolate one and the cream cheese frosting - to die for! The company I work for announced to everyone on Monday, they are acquired a local Austin company. Then my boss tells me on Tuesday, we are going to have a launch party on Thursday so make it happen for LA and Austin. Not in the morning but late afternoon and Austin is 2hrs ahead. Call me vindictive...call me a sore loser... call me whatever you want (Brian from Toot Sweet) just don't call me a repeat customer to this place. I just can't let it go...every time my Mom's birthday passes, I'm reminded of the crap job Toot Sweet did in preparing my mom's Bingo Themed (yes tacky I know, but what are ya' gonna do..the lady loves bingo) cupcake order. Even over a year later, the whole experience with these people still irks me. I even disputed this order ($130 for about 3 dozen jumbo cupcakes) back in April of 2009 with the BBB and they refused to meet me even half way in crediting the CRAP job they did. The husband and I had it out via email and BBB responses and to this day, I've probably mouthed off about this tricky treat place to about 150 different people. It just isn't fair to advertise a quality looking product and deliver what they gave me, so just beware...my pictures are posted so you can see for yourself... I called in an order for "Bingo Themed" Cupcakes, giving the husband free range (after seeing their website) just asking for three flavors of cupcakes that resembled bingo balls wishing my mom a happy 45th birthday.... What I got were these HORRENDOUS looking mis-shapen, sloppily decorated, seemingly rushed cupcakes that followed no uniformity whatsoever. They refused to credit anything because I "kept" the cupcakes...I live way north near Duval and they are in Oak Hill...my brother drove out there on a Friday to pick these up at 2ish and I had to be at the Bingo Hall by 4:30...so I could NOT wait around for the seemingly sweet Tiffany B. to "re-do" her husband's attempt to decorate my order. I am determined to find the best cupcakes in town... It's a hard life I know. We got a variety box delivered to work, so this review is for cupcakes only not service, location or other menu offerings. The cupcakes are good... not the best I've ever had, but good enough that I kept going back for more. It was disappointing that the cake itself was pretty dry on all 3 kinds I tried. I don't know if it's because they were made too far in advance or if they are always like that. The fact that there is a small amount of filling inside each cupcake helped compensate for the dryness of the cake. The filling complemented the cake and frosting flavors well. The frosting is pretty good, especially the cream cheese. The chocolate was not the best, I prefer a creamier frosting. Overall I'd say I liked the Carrot Cake the best, followed by the Red Velvet. If they could get the actual CAKE to be more memorable this could be an awesome cupcake. read more

For a cupcake shop, they know full well how to make some delectable food. We've had catering from here a few days this week during our company's busy season and I must say I stand amazed at how much food they give and also how good it is. If you get the breakfast foods, make sure you get the maple bacon. It's literally like eating a bacon lollipop: glazed, maple goodness on crisp bacon. Yum. The mojito chicken is also something I strongly recommend. Very juicy grilled chicken bursting with juice and flavor. Saffron rice pairs excellently with it as well. Fruit here is pretty darn fresh too. Definitely would consider catering for an event again. read more

I've ordered from Toot Sweet before and had a good experience, but this time more than made up in the negative aspect. Cupcakes were scheduled for delivery between 3-4pm for a party from 4-6pm. I reconfirmed with the owner a day ahead that everything was in order. Come party time - kids are playing, I'm waiting - suddenly I notice the time is 5pm. Candle-blowing is scheduled for 5:30 and we have no cupcakes yet for the birthday boy and his friends. I call the Toot Sweet owner, she says her husband is doing delivery and I should call him. I call the husband and he mumbles something about another client being late and puts me on hold while he searches for my order. Then he says it will be about 25 minutes to get to my place from where he is. He blames his 1.5 hour delay on the 45 min wait he said another client caused. 35 minutes later, cupcakes arrive. They were as ordered, tasted good, except that some of the kids had started leaving and we were all sitting there waiting for cake. I was getting ready to drive out and buy a cake when they finally arrived. No call back from owner, no acceptance of error from husband except saying that the delay imposed on him by the other client was unconscionable. That was the word I might have liked to use for the delay in delivery of my order. Their cupcakes taste good and have a variety of sizes and flavors. They aren't too sweet. I've enjoyed ordering from them before but needless to say, this experience has left me highly irate. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone! The items I ordered were not what they were supposed to be. Lets start with the fact that I was told I could pick up my i-phone cake & moustache cookies at 10:30 am. I arrived at 11:00 to closed doors and I called and there was no answer. I waited a few minutes and called back and left a voice-mail. I heard back from Tiffany (owner) in a few minutes. When she called back, she said the cookies were ready and I asked about the "i-phone" cake... long hesitation and shuffling through papers... and then a hang up. I called back and no answer. A few minutes later a man (her husband and owner) walked out with the cookies. I asked about the cake and he said that she must have gotten the orders mixed up and she was working on it. I told him I needed to speak with her since she hung up on me and needed to see what was completed. He walked me into a back door of the bakery (warehouse) and the place was filthy dirty! and it stunk! There were shelves everywhere full of junk and papers and odds and ends... I DID NOT WALK PAST THE ENTRANCE IN FEAR OF WHAT I WOULD SEE! He called out to Tiffany and she yelled "WHAT"! She wasn't happy. She came around to talk with me and I asked to see the final product... It was a plain white cake with Happy Birthday & my daughters name written in pink!!! Are you kidding me?? I asked her how she went from making an i-phone cake to this... and her response was she got confused because when we talked last, I told her the message I wanted the cake to read was "Happy Birthday".... and I said yes, the message on the i-phone message. (I posted a picture in the photos here). Needless to say she said she would have it fixed in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later, I knock at the door for the husband to bring me out a cake that was not what the picture that we referenced looked like... I was so upset after being there for so long! I explained to him that the cake was not like the on their website and the one that Tiffany & I spoke about... his response was-- "You mean the $1500 cake that is as big as that truck right there"? Used Toot Suite for a delivery a couple weeks ago. The core experience was fine. I asked them to deliver cupcakes to a specific place on a specific day at a specific time and they did so. The website doesn't go into enough detail about the actual product, however. Communication from them was far too terse. I gave them my circumstances expecting a recommendation and I got a very short email "What, Where, When?" This is a clear indication to me of a company that is far too busy to service it's customers. That lack of care for me and the quick scan of my email rather than actually reading it left me uncertain for a day about whether my order would arrive. Were it not for the snotty "What, Where, When?" email response, this business would get a full five stars, but that sort of communication is not something I would *EVER* send to my clients and I don't appreciate it being sent to me. read more

I ordered cookies and cupcakes from Tiffany for my cousin's baby shower in November. I chose this bakery specifically since they deliver. This is my first time in the area and not knowing my way around I thought it would be convenient. Also, the designs on her website are super cute. I have to say looks are deceiving. She did email me some pictures to choose from, which I did. The final product looked nothing like what I picked. The cookies were supposed to be embellished onesie sugar cookies, lots of frosting work. Instead I received stamped sugar cookies. They were still cute, but only 1 color and honestly I could have made them myself. The cupcakes - I asked for a light green with sparkly sugar. What I got looked like 4th of July cupcakes. The taste was good, The worst part of the whole thing was the delivery. The event started at 2 pm. I have an invoice that was paid in full prior to the event. On the invoice it has the time of the event. She was a no show with the cookies and cupcakes. I started calling and kept getting voicemail. My calls were going unreturned. I finally got in touch with her about 3:15 pm. She said her husband was on the way. She acted like it was no problem that she was late and didn't know what time the event had started. When her husband showed up it totally disrupted the shower when he brought in the desserts. It was very embarrassing to me as a hostess to not have this all set up in advance. The desserts arrived at about 3:45 pm. A full hour and 45 minutes after the start of the event. Unacceptable! And I paid for delivery! read more

Awesome! My Award winning wedding planner raved about Toot Sweet- and I agree with her. I contracted Tiffany at Toot Sweet Cupcakes for my wedding Aug 2009. I had approximately 150 cupcakes of various flavors delivered and set up. Toot's staff was on-time, did the entire set up, worked with my florist and made sure everything was perfect for my day. They have an amazing selection and Tiffany said she could do virtually anything I wanted. I got free taste tests on all of the cupcakes- then got to take home the extras- who does that? I was difficult to pick - so I just chose assorted Yes, it's hard to find in Dripping Springs, but there is a reason.... Tiffany doesn't want a big retail storefront- her clients are business' and catering larger groups- she's literally had people read her press, travel from all over the world and seek her out for 1 cupcake. Have you seen her story in the New York Times? geez it's incredible So if you want delicious- home baked goodies- they also cater- listen to her real clients, not the posts of her competitors and order from Toot Sweets. If the Texas Bar Association, Big Brother Big Sisters and tons of other clients trust them with catering and cupcakes- shouldn't you? read more

I ordered a pink octopus cake for my daughter's first birthday party. They delivered the cake an hour before the party time. As soon as the cake entered the room, the scent was heavenly. I just got done eating a catered lunch by these guys and it was great. The sandwiches were available on white and wheat bread, I had the roast beef and it was excellent, flavorful, and simple - just like a good sandwich should be. My shamrock cookie was also really good, loved the fact that it had soft frosting instead of the hard stuff you find at the grocery store. Also in response to the poster below who said there was no vegetarian option - they do in fact have vegetarian wraps, but they only bring what our company asks them to. For my baby shower in Nov 08' my MIL and my mom ordered about 150 gourmet cupcakes from this place! I must say choosing the flavors was very hard to do! They offer tons of flavors with fillings and the price for the size of the cupcake is not bad at all either! I went to a wedding recently where the bride had these cupcakes instead of a cake. I thought it was a cute idea and easy to distribute to everyone. The display that was set up (I assume by these folks) was very pretty and well executed. I actually sat close to the cupcake display so I got a really good view of it all night. The bride had chocolate, lemon, strawberry, and red velvet cupcakes on display. I had a chocolate one, and the husband had a lemon one. They had icing piped inside the cupcake so that was a nice surprise. The husband's analysis of his cupcake was eh, and mine was pretty close to the same. 'Eh' for us means I didn't hate it, but I'm not going to bum rush the stage to get another one. I'm glad to have tried them, but it wasn't the best I have ever had. Let's start with my devotion to chocolate. I really love chocolate. Dark, rich, decadent chocolate. The cupcake was more of the sweet variety that had a chocolate flavor, but no intensity of flavor. It was nice and inoffensive, but nothing memorable. The icing was sweet! Really really sweet! It was more chocolatey than the cake part, but a little too sugary for my personal tastes. I prefer the complex notes chocolate brings to the palate when its not super sweet. The one thing that did bug me about the cupcake were the edible sprinkles on top. They were a bit... crunchy. I expect my cupcakes to be like pillows topped with velvety frosting. These were... until you hit the small gravel bits that really detracted from the overall texture and mouthfeel. Overall, for a catered event and presentation, I'd probably give Toot Sweet about 4 stars. Weddings are alot of set up and the goal is to hit a wide appeal for as many people as possible. In addition, while I didn't really like my cupcake, the bride had the exact same one and loved loved loved it. So, since it's her day, that's all that really matters I suppose. Toot Sweet made the bride extremely happy at her event and if you are reading this trying to make a decision on whether or not to use them, I know the bride planned the event herself and was very pleased with these cupcakes and how they turned out. However, for my experience, I think the cupcake is a solid effort in the city. That's my evaluation as a taster and not as someone who ordered or planned the event. Since I do know the bride, I think from her end, it was a 5 star effort. It's light years better than Hey Cupcake and Cupprimo not as great as Sugar Mamas and probably would be in a close race with Polkadots if I had to rank them. read more

My company uses Toot Sweet for a variety of catering needs. We've had their box lunches for different lunch meetings/presentations, as well as their delicious cupcakes. The box lunches are always phenomenal. Nothing boring about them. The sandwiches are tasty, fresh and not your boring 'ham and cheese'. Our box lunches included a cupcake- so yummy. UNBELIEVABLE. The preposterous delivery! To deliver crumbled cupcakes to a 2 year old for his birthday. SEVEN out of 12 cupcakes were crumbled. Not only did Brian Bacon take a deceiving picture during his delivery making it seem that everything was fine, but I tried to contact them in several occasions and no response. Seriously?! Is this your customer service? Finally, Tiffany Bacon replies from her iphone and says, "We assemble them with frosting - the delivery was over 40 miles away, the vibration was hard on them." Not only did they charge double for the "decorations" on the cupcakes, yet they didn't even arrive in one piece! Keep in mind delivery was also charged! (before delivery they undercharged me $5 which I asked to pay for difference & also no response, they probably knew I was already going to be disappointed with the delivery) NEVER, NEVER again will I order from this Bakery! In just reading the reviews and the responses given by Tiffany B. I would not suggest, use, or even refer this place to my worst enemy. I read every review, good and bad. The good were off & seemed fake , and the bad we all the same. Long story short. What kind of business woman makes excuses??? I would not want to hear excuses for poor service. An apology, sure! A refund or partial refund is expected. If I were to order cupcakes and not recieve them until 10 minutes before the person was leaving,I would immediately issue a stop payment on the charge and send those mushy crappy cupcakes back. Even more insulting is Tiffany B. stating that Amber and Suzan are the same person. Did she have some many botched up orders she cant keep track of who is who? I loved the caramel brownie but for me, the cupcakes weren't up my alley. Maybe it was just the flavors I tried but I just didn't love them. The are absolutely delicious looking though, delivery was right on time, and the packaging was great. No smashed or tipped over cupcakes. Again, I think this is just a matter of personal preference on how I like my cupcakes. The icings are really sweet (think toothache sweet) and I thought the chocolate cake was not rich enough. I tried the Divine and the Vanilla Almond. The Divine was a huge let down for me. The Vanilla Almond was better and the almond filling was good, but the icing was so sweet. Next time I'm going to try some different flavors and see how it goes. I do think this is a good business so I'd be happy to try them again. Let me begin on a positive note: A previous order of cupcakes I received from here were great. The cupcakes were large, and very well decorated. However, the order I just received was quite the opposite. The cupcakes were much smaller than before. The icing on the cupcakes was applied poorly, and just looked of poor quality. Also, as I found out later, from my girlfriend who sent the cupcakes, they were not even decorated like she had ordered. When this was pointed out to the owner, she couldn't care less, and it acted as if my girlfriend should feel privileged to have even received anything. Well, it looks like I am not the only one that had this kind of experience with Tiffany and her bakery, Toot Sweet. I will start with saying, to me, the cupcakes were fine. They are about as good as Hey Cupcake. My husband did not care for them. The quality of the cupcakes was not the issue. I ordered cupcakes for my son's birthday party. In the order I specified that the party was at 4:30 on April 30. At 3:30, we started getting worried...no cupcakes. I try calling and no one will answer. We keep trying to call and finally reach someone at 4:30 and they say their delivery truck is behind and will be there soon. At 5:15, the delivery guy arrives. 45 minutes after the party started. The delivery guy is not polite and he demands another $24 if I want all the cupcakes. The owner had forgotten to charge me for all of them. What? You show up this late and demand more money? So whatever, I pay the guy. Once he is gone, I realize there are no lemon cupcakes, as I ordered. Bummer. So on Monday, after the party, I send Tiffany a polite email expressing the things that made my experience less than perfect. She sent a snappy email in response, flat out denying that the lemon cupcakes were missing. "I know they were in there, as I made them myself." OK. Then she proceeded to say we never specified a time for delivery. In my order I specified the date and time in the same sentence. I'm not sure how they got the day right, but missed the time. And when I called them the day of the party, they seemed to realize they were running behind. Hmmm....Then in response to my statement that "asking for money when they were this late, at that point, was poor form". She responded that I should have noticed her mistake and called her when I paid for the order the week earlier. What??? I emailed her back and said I had definitely specified the time of delivery and she just never responded. I am pretty easy going. But what ticks me off here is the lack of respect for the customer. I hate to drag down the star average, but my recent experience with Toot Sweet did not leave me feeling warm and fuzzy. I admit to being partially to blame. I had a last-minute order for two dozen cupcakes but Tiffany assured me it was no problem. Because of the lack of communication about the order (no phone calls, and an email only after I emailed to cancel), I cancelled and placed an order elsewhere--then the email from Tiffany came. I wound up cancelling the new order and going back to Tiffany, who said the cupcakes were baked and filled and just awaiting the frosting and decoration. Here's where my own back-and-forth might have contributed to the results. OK, the cupcakes were delivered on time and were just the surprise and treat I wanted them to be for the recipients. One star. But after reading the rave reviews here, I was expecting them to taste out of this world and they most certainly did not. The German Chocolate was a tad stale, but the frosting was very good and the cakes were actually decorated. The small cupcakes were cute and had a generous amount of frosting. That's the other star. The Italian Creme cakes, OTOH, were merely white cupcakes with white frosting and way too much coconut piled on top. Very disappointing. I would still have given them three stars were it not for the continued lack of communication. No followup emails or calls to see if I was satisfied--this is a small business, right? And although I wrote to ask for an itemized receipt to explain the difference between the $42 cupcakes and $57 bill, I got nothing. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever had the displeasure if encountering. I wanted cupcakes delivered SAME DAY, and wasn't informed of that until I received a google wallet check out form via email. I never did the check out because I needed them that day not the next- but they went ahead and delivered them anyway, I WANST EVEN THERE. Then proceeded to call my job and harass my coworkers because they delivered to the wrong person without Payment and bullied me into paying for a product I never received. Ridiculous. Our company is nice enough to provide a free lunch for our employees weekly. It is not "required" that employees eat it. But, for our employee, Anne, F. below that gave a bad review, I do not appreciate that she took it out ot Toots. Anne, I am more than happy to meet with you and discuss the choices I made for the lunch. IF you are a vegan, all you have to do is let us know and we would have provided a lunch for you. That had nothing to do with TOOTS! As for their desserts, they are freshily made and are not store bought! If you dont want to eat the luch don't , but please do not ruin it for the rest of the employees. I wanted to celebrate my boyfriends birthday by sending some cupcakes to where he works. I ordered the day before and was told I would get a invoice emailed to me to pay from. Nothing arrived and the next morning I called to see what happened. Finally got it paid for through Google checkout. There was no acknowledgment I had paid and when I tried to call I got voice mail... They promised to send a picture of my boyfriend when he took receipt of the cupcakes. 2:30 pm and still nothing. Missed lunch (sigh) 3:30 nothing. He leaves at 4:00... I called once and got someone who said it was on the truck. Long story short? Melted cupcakes arrived at 3:50. He had 10 minutes to share them. A friend of mine surprised me for my birthday by having cupcakes delivered to my work! The delivery person was super friendly and snapped my photo with the cupcakes. (I think it was to send to the sender of the cupcakes? Not entirely sure.) Anyway, I didn't pick out any of the flavors, obviously, but it was a wonderful selection and they were ALL quite tasty and beautiful. And filled! I have gotten cupcakes from here twice. Both of the times I was amazed with the professionalism I received as well as the quality. Both orders were placed as deliveries and each time the product arrived on time and was presented exactly as I was told they would be. We were dissatisfied with the order and instead of being accommodating the owner took offense and refused to be a professional and take responsibility for a dissatisfied customer. My mother-in-law had some cupcakes delivered to me for my birthday. I will start this off by saying that I am 8 months pregnant and LOVE sweets. I was very excited when I saw the box on my doorstep; however, these are the worst cupcakes I have ever tasted. I feel horrible that my mother-in-law spent her money on them! She ordered half chocolate/half vanilla. The chocolate cupcake was so dry and tasted like it was made a week ago. The vanilla ones were a bit better but I cannot even believe that this is an actual business. Who makes cupcakes taste this bad?! If I am saying this, what would a cupcake connoisseur say? One star goes to the thoughtful delivery person who used a makeshift stand to place my cupcakes on as I was not there at the time. Such a disappointment! I was excited to order cupcakes through Toot Sweet Cupcakes for my sister's birthday. Unfortunately there was extremely poor communication between the business and myself. I will give credit to the fact that Toot Sweet tried to deliver the cupcakes multiple times, but due to various circumstances with our weekend rental they did not deliver it to me. They left our delivery outside, by the mailbox without any notice. They only contacted me after I initiated contact through email, stating I never received my cupcakes today. Tiffany basically put the blame on me, but had my email the entire time. She ultimately had more control to contact me, as her customer, but never even left a curtesy email to say they couldn't reach me and my cupcakes were outside. I even stated, in my first email that if she needed any further information from me (prime example would be my phone number) then to please contact me back. I did have plans in the evening and could not get back to our house until late, so our cupcakes were as good as trash. No refund and no consideration or apology from Toot Sweet, only blame to me. I am in the recipient of these cupcakes and I have to say that we were less than impressed with their customer service and product. I will continue to spread word in my opinion as this what this site is for to base MY opinion (for future customers). If a complaint comes in to any business, its common courtesy to apologize and not be defensive. That's what real Customer Service IS. Don't use this bakery! Read the one star reviews like Lydia R 's. My experience was the same with their lies, filthy conditions and lateness. They do not take ownership for any of their horrible customer service!!! Even told me they would refund my money after I didn't get my order and I had to call credit card company. CC company immediately reversed the charge. I do not see how they are still in business. Their business must be from new customers who didn't read yelp reviews before ordering.
