Wow this was so easy! My husband said for his birthday he wanted a Great American Cookie Cake like it was the 90s. I said ok I'll look into that. I did a little research and quickly discovered on the Great American Cookie website that you can get it delivered. I picked a pre-made design and a regular chocolate chip cookie and had it delivered on a Friday evening. I never left my house and it showed up at my door... so easy and it saved me a trip to the mall. The cookie cake was a hit and just what the hubby wanted for his special day. I have been buying cookie cakes from this location for the last 3 years, but since the new owners, Puja, took over, I am utterly disappointed and will never come here again. A week before pickup, we requested this cake and asked for '28' numbers in the center and a thick border and this is what we were given. We were told "it was really hard to do" which is why it turned out that way. I asked the Owner if she thought it looked good and she told me "no", yet, was still trying to sell it to us. We asked if she could try and fix it, and she responded "no, it would ruin the cake if I tried scraping it off". We asked for a partial refund so we could try and fix the cake ourselves, she responded "you either pay me $78 for the cake or you are not getting it. I can sell this to someone else." So, we told her to keep the cake and issue us the full refund. A week and a half later, no refund came through. We called her and she said she would issue it now. She only issued half of our money back (she charged us $78 for this cake!!!). We still have not received the full refund and this incident happened a month ago. We even asked her if she could sell us a different cake or remake it, which she responded "we have no other cakes". This woman would not work with us at all even when she admitted it was a terrible cake and she was the owner! Please do not buy from this location as it is clear they do not care about the quality of their cakes or their customers. read more

Our Service Club ordered two dozen decorated cookies to celebrate the children from a Title 1 elementary school we were taking on a shopping spree to Barton Creek Mall. The cookies were to be baked and decorated the night before we were to pick them up so the icing would be hardened. That definitely did not happen and the cookies were kind of a horror show. Picture a melting snowman! The decorator made a point of saying the cookies would be baked and decorated the day before pick up. We were very disappointed and will not be using them again. read more

Sure the cookies ARE overpriced. And they want you to buy 5 to get a 6th one free. Nobody needs 5, much less 6! This is supposed to be a bargain? But I have been addicted to those M&M Double Doozie cookies since 1992 when an old ex-gf introduced them to me on a trip home from college. There's something about that white fake processed sugary tasting icing in the middle that I completely CRAVE. I love that stuff! It's an art to eating one of these. When you bite the icing sandwich, the icing can ooze out onto your hand. I try to eat around this evil concoction to make sure I get every bit of the icing that can squish out. The tattooed and pierced employee had an absolute look of misery on his face. So much so, I was actually a little concerned about him. I know it's a crap job, but he was just going through the motions. Surely he could get something else where that tattooed and pierced "look" is an asset (I mean it IS Austin after all) and where he'd find a bit more enthusiasm in what he's doing. They are amazing cookies. I recently ordered a cake and it was as good as I every remember. They now have colored icing. It is easy to order. If you tell them a time to pick it up, do not expect to get it early. They literally make the cake a hour or two before you told them you would pick it up. I find it odd they do not have prices anywhere on display. The cake was $33. I bit high for a cake when you think about it but everyone loves them. The icing is crack. You can't get enough of it. The girl that took my order was nice the one I dealt with when I picked up not so much. They are working at the mall on a Saturday. I am sure that can't be easy. Although I would give 5 stars for the actual taste and presentation of the cookie, I have to take into consideration things like, price, customer service, location, etc. The customer service was outstanding!! I wish I could have gotten the blonde girls name who was helping us Bc she was very patient with us choosing a cake design and very helpful. The cake took about 45 mins to make/design for us so we shopped. The prices here are always so so high but hey! It's the best damn cookie cake you'll ever eat so it makes it worth it! Especially for celebrations like birthdays, congratulations parties, etc. while we were designing our cake I really really wanted to try the new orange cookie but there weren't any sample. To me, great customer service was the lady helping us taking an orange cookie and slicing it up into sample sizes so we could have a little taste! Most of the time they hit it out of the park, but good customer service is not consistent. The product is always excellent and delicious though. It does disappoint me when you spend extra on an iced cookie slice and it is not packaged well and the employee argues with you when you asked for a more appropriate way to transport this huge iced triangle. They used to provide a pizza slice box, like at 7-11. But now, to save money I guess, they'll only give you a paper bag. This is the most expensive item, besides the entire cookie cake. Why wouldn't you want to please the customer that is willing to jump off this calorie/sugar cliff and pay almost $7 for the privilege. The person ordering the slice of cookie cake is an established return customer and should be treated better. It's not the most glamorous job, but it's better than fast food, so I can emphasize with the lackluster indifference of the employees. However, you make cookies all day. Ordered a bday cookie from the store near Nordstrom. 5 days later they called and said that the store was gonna be closed on Tuesday(8/30). I asked if the other cookie store(near the food court) would be open on Tuesday and could they make the cookie? I picked the cookie up at 12:30 on 8/30. My husband was excited to have a piece of his bday cookie at 2:00. We each had a small piece.... Something wasn't right! The cookie crumbled when handled and didn't taste at all like the original cookie cake. It wasn't edible. I called the store and they told me it wasn't made today bcs they didn't want to defrost the cookie cake batter so they used the batter from the individual cookies to make it- the day before. NO APOLOGY!!! I insisted they give me my money back. I was then told to bring the cookie back and they would refund my CC.... I told them that I needed her(manager)-"Cathy" to apologize to me and make this right. 9/8- I bring a slice back and Cathy refunds me. NO I'm sorry, no let me make this better. This place is ridiculous. I was at the Apple Store at Barton Creek Mall and walked by GABCO. I noticed that they do NOT post their prices of their cookies (instead having uninformative signs like "6 for 5")....I wanted just one. A small, unimpressive choco-chip cookie will set you back $1.49 EACH (!). Only reinforced my general disdain for malls. This place is going on my "Boycott: Extreme Prejudice" list. Avoid. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have had trouble with this establishment twice now. The first time the birthday cake I ordered for my daughter was complety wrong, when I told the employee she was extremely rude to me and my husband. I asked if I could speak with her manager and was told no she was on break. I finally was able to speak to the manager and she corrected the cake and apologized for everything. Situation fixed. I decided to order a cake for my bosses birthday, I gave the girl explicit instructions for what I wanted. I go to the mall to pick up my cake and it's completely sloppy and wrong. I am a baker. I taste test cookies and other treats all day. I have tried other cookies all around town. One example is Tiny's Milk and Cookies. I ordered my cookie but it took way too long. When I finally received my cookie it was so undercooked that it collapsed in my hands. I have to say it wasn't the worst cookie I have tried in my days but it was certainly not the best. I was resilient at first to try another cookie place after the incident with Tiny's Milk and Cookies when I stumbled across this wonderful store when I was shopping. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular when I ordered a sugar cookie. It was ready as quick as a shooting star and the employe was so kind, asking me if I would like anything else. I inhaled the smell of the beautiful cookie, the best smell I have ever smelt in my entire live. I pulled it out of its beautiful packaging admiring the beautiful rainbow sprinkles on my cookie. It had not a single crack or scratch. I sunk my teeth into the beautiful cookie, my mouth filling with flavor. It had the perfect texture and from that day on, I strove to make my cookies even small bit as amazing as my Great American sugar cookie. They have so many flavors, I tried every single one.
