The food was fantastic! The meat was so juicy! The flavor was bold and rich! And the atmosphere was so beautiful. I really enjoyed everything! The severs were attentive! I cant wait to come back and bring my family! The portions are big! We had left overs for a few days!

This is such a cute restaurant with beautiful decor. The food was good, but I wish they offered the option to add a small side of yogurt sauce, as well as a half-and-half rice and salad option. The biggest issue was the service. Our server was very inattentive. She forgot the beer I ordered and I didn't receive it until I asked about it halfway through my meal. Of course, the beer that had been sitting at the bar wasn't cold by the time I received it. She also never stopped by our table to check on us. She was also taking care of a large party seated next to us. As she hurried past our table, we tried to get her attention to ask for our check, but instead of stopping, she kept walking quickly, gestured for us to wait, and yelled, "One second, ladies." My friend and I found this to be extremely rude and unprofessional. I normally tip at least 20% when I dine out, but even leaving an 18% tip felt more generous than the service warranted.

I've ordered from Toranj probably ten times now, which should tell you two things immediately. I like this place and I'm sufficiently confused by it that I've apparently been conducting a small longitudinal study. This is strictly a delivery review. I haven't eaten inside yet. And for delivery, they do a surprising number of things very well. The food arrives hot. Portions are generous. The hummus and other sides I've tried have generally been good and when that Juicy Chicken earns its name, it is excellent. Tender, deeply flavored, properly grilled, the sort of thing that makes you immediately understand why people love this place. Then you order again. And somehow the same chicken can arrive dry and scorched. The rice that was beautiful last time can be a little too al dente. The grilled vegetables can go from pleasantly blistered to looking like they survived a small structural fire. Look at the photos. I like char. Char is flavor. But there is a point where char becomes carbon and Toranj occasionally crosses the border without showing its passport. That's really my problem here, consistency. When Toranj is good, I think it's very good. The seasoning is there. The portions are unusually generous. The ingredients feel substantial rather than cheap. Even after delivery, there are moments when you open the container and think, damn, they nailed this. But ordering shouldn't feel quite this much like spinning a wheel. Will tonight's chicken be succulent or dry? Will the vegetables be beautifully grilled or cremated? Will the rice be right? At this price point, after this many orders, I shouldn't still be wondering. I also wish the plates were composed a little more generously beyond meat and rice. You get plenty of food, so this isn't a complaint about quantity. It's more that once you want vegetables, hummus, yogurt or something else to round everything out, you start building the meal through additional sides, and the bill climbs pretty quickly. And yet, I'm going to order again. That may be the most useful thing I can say about Toranj. There's a genuinely good restaurant in here. On its best nights, maybe a great neighborhood one. I'm rooting for them because the South Bay could use more places like this and because I've already eaten enough excellent food from this kitchen to know what they're capable of. I just want to stop crossing my fingers before opening the container. 3 stars today. There's a 4 star restaurant sitting right underneath it if they can make Tuesday taste like Saturday.

Phenomenal Mediterranean food and also with exceptional Persian-inspired craft cocktails. Beautiful restaurant space and friendly service. There were many birthday celebrations the evening we were dining here. Only minor downside was the slight pressure to upgrade the sides to our dishes; we did not enjoy the upgraded rice with cranberries as much as plain rice. The base house salad was delicious so wouldn't feel compelled to upgrade unless you know you want a specific salad.

Hands down the best Mediterranean cuisine in the South Bay. Perfect place to have a family gathering or friends because there's various family meal options. Their chicken kebab was juicy, the koobideh was tender, the salad was delicious and that pita bread was fresh out the oven! 5 stars for me for great service, great food, and beautiful ambience!

Beautiful interior that is warm and inviting while also being sparkling clean without feeling sterile. The service is excellent and both times we dined, our servers were attentive and quick to answer questions and make adjustments. The food is exceptionally delicious and we enjoyed everything we ordered, with special mention of the chicken barg, which is so juicy and flavorful. A+

We were thrilled to see Toranj in the Southbay bc we love their food at their Westwood location. This restaurant is beautiful. Great lighting, arches in their design, stylish decor, and airier than their smaller WW spot...love the vibe here! Came here for Sunday dinner - the food did not disappoint. Fantastic! Everything was outstanding. The filet mignon melted in my mouth. The service was excellent. Make reservations bc the word's clearly out - lively and popular but not overwhelmingly so. Thoroughly enjoyable!

04-2026 We had a fantastic meal at the new Toranj location in Manhattan Beach, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots in the South Bay. The restaurant has a beautiful, modern yet welcoming vibe--perfect for a casual family dinner or a night out. A huge shoutout to our servers Mina and Oshani--they were absolutely amazing! So friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food. They made us feel right at home and helped guide us through the menu with great recommendations. We started with a spread of appetizers that were all hits: * The hummus was creamy and perfectly seasoned. * Persian eggplant was flavorful and delicious (that sautéed eggplant with mint and kashk is addictive!). * Marinated olives had a wonderful balance of herbs and tang. * The veggie plate was fresh and generously portioned. For our mains, we went with the family plate, which came with a crisp Greek salad, loubia (the green bean and tomato rice with tender meat was excellent), and polo (the saffron rice was aromatic and cooked to perfection). Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and homemade. We also tried the homemade lemonade, and it was a total hit--refreshing, not too sweet, and the perfect complement to the meal. Toranj delivers classic Persian flavors done right in a stylish setting. The portions are generous, the ingredients are high quality, and the service is top-notch. We left completely satisfied and already planning our next visit. If you're craving authentic Persian cuisine in Manhattan Beach, look no further--Toranj is a winner! Highly recommend.

We came here with family on a Friday for dinner. We made a reservation and sat as soon as we walked in. It was busy but they were still very attentive to our table. We placed our order and the food came out about 15 minutes later. It was very delicious and very good quality. Everything was very hot and made fresh. We enjoyed our meal.

Had such a great experience at Toranj! The food was honestly amazing--everything we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The appetizers were a great start (definitely recommend the hummus and kashk bademjan), and the kabobs were cooked perfectly--tender, juicy, and super flavorful. Even the rice was done so well. Don't skip dessert either--the saffron ice cream and baklava were both so good and the perfect way to end the meal. The ambiance really stands out too. The decor is beautiful and thoughtfully done, giving it a more upscale, inviting feel that makes it great for a nice night out. Service was also great--attentive, friendly, and added to the overall positive experience. That said, it is definitely on the expensive side, and parking in the area can be tough, so plan ahead. Overall, really delicious food, great service, and a beautiful setting--just be ready for the price and a little parking challenge!

If you're unsure what to order, I recommend a family plate to share.

There is a very elegant feel when you enter the restaurant. Modern and sleek decor as well as live music set the mood instantly. The service is impeccable and the food presentation is stunning. I'm a huge Persian cuisine kinda guy so I wanted to sample a variety of food. We opted for Family plate 3 so that we could taste kebabs galore. The chicken and filet kebabs were succulent and flavorful. Likewise, the chicken koobideh (ground chicken) was delicious with an easy to digest texture. The beef koonideh (ground beef) was a bit under seasoned imo. The plate is complimented with a generous portion of rice. In addition, it comes with salad. However, we upgraded to Shirazi salad cuz that's just what any Persian food lover would do. Shirazi is fresh and lemony. I love to consume and compare fesenjoon stews. This one was a little more liquid phase and tart than I am accustomed to but tasty nonetheless. Eggplant appetizer had nice flavor and perfect to dip the bread in. The bread is massive and the portion generous. I'm used to the eggplant served as a dip but this was served as disc that had a cat food vibe about it. Don't misunderstand me, the flavor was good but some onion slices might've been nice. I went mocktail this lovely evening and opted for green breath--a refreshing cucumber and mint drink--and highly recommend it. I'll definitely will return to sample other dishes.

Al Hamra Kabob Grill is a restaurant run by a Pakistani owner, specializing in kebabs and grilled…read moremeats inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.

Really loved this dish.10/10 Roasted Cauliflower - OMG died and gone to heaven! 100/10 Falafel Sliders - 2 in a serve so you can share, crunchy, spicy, oh so moreish, good flavour and texture 8/10 Quinoa Tabbouleh - lovely lemony mouthfuls with a mint hit Chicken Mosli - the turmeric broth was amazing, soaking the veg and chicken in such a flavourful broth made everything extra 10/10 De Soi Rose - a pre mixed drink which had a pleasant berry taste (rather like Ribena if you are from the UK), refreshing and easy to drink Baumgartner white wine - Austria, little of a wine gum taste akin to sav blanc, not as much of the pepper taste I was expecting, but still eminently drinkable We really enjoyed our dinner and will be back again soon, with the beets and cauliflower definitely our first choices followed by something different, as we work our way through the entire menu!

She's always so sweet, welcoming, and attentive, and she goes above and beyond to take care of me and my staff. The entire staff is A-1 and always makes us feel welcome and appreciated. There are so many great options on the menu, but my go-to's are the Spicy Lemon Garlic Chicken, Chicken Kabobs, and Steak Kebabs. Always delicious! After all these years, Chicken Maison is still one of my favorite spots. Great food, great people, and consistently great service. Definitely deserves 5 stars!

This spot is good for families and groups with plenty of seating and a good selection of combos (Chicken + Sides). Servings are fairly large and reasonably priced. You order at a kiosk and they will bring your food to you. Staff members here were helpful and friendly. Spicy Lemon Garlic Chicken (3/5): Flavorful but a little dry. Greek ColeSlaw (3/5): Mixed reviews -- I thought it was fine but someone else didn't want to touch it after one bite. It's your standard slaw with an oily herb dressing that reminded me of Kraft bottled Italian. Potato Salad (2/5): Disappointing and mostly unseasoned mashed potato.

I would've never thought to eat around this area but I was in the area driving back East to go home and stumbled upon pictures and great reviews. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. It's nothing fancy but the food is delicious and the hummus was so fresh. I was in heaven when I realized there was a jar of garlic sauce on the table for us-- genius idea because people don't have to ask for more of this addictive sauce! I'd want to come back just to stock up on those hummuses! Service was okay as they were very busy but employees were very friendly!

The rice is not overdone or underdone, it's just the write kind of plump to it, the chicken itself was flavorful and not dry. Typical Mediterranean salad, get their taziki sauce off the table to top it off some more if you'd like. What bummed me out is the pita bread they provide for the hummus was too dry, hey we're not quite a chip, but definitely not soft pita. Gotta give this place a 4, for now. Their pita bread game needs some work, everything else seems to work well though! Come try their hummus, they are out of this world.
