Came to this resturant with a party of 6. It was not that crowded. The hostess that seated us was also our waitress. She took our order, some of us ordered appetizers and salads along with our entrees. Waited 30 minutes and finally they brought out all the entrees first, then had to be reminded that we ordered appetizers and salads also, they came last. As for our waitress, never saw her again. The food was brought out by several different wait staff. As for the food, mediocre at best. Our entrees started getting cold waiting for our salads and appetizers to arrive. One salad had to be set back because it came with blue cheese on it and was ordered without. I ordered the sausage & pepper appetizer, came with 2 pieces of sausage, could only eat one because the other was hard as a rock, couldn't even cut it with a knife, the baked ziti was just ok, the chicken wings were very small. From where we were sitting I could see into the kitchen and there was a lot of people standing around doing nothing meanwhile we're waiting for our food, so I walked over and could see all our salads lined up and asked what the delay was and that we should have gotten the salads first, the reply was, "yeah we know, sorry". Also, never did any of the wait staff come by and ask if everything tasted good or appoligize for the bad service. Sorry ToScany's for the bad review, but you need to re-train your wait staff and kitchen staff. read more

I normally don't give bad reviews but this place was a joke. We walked in behind a party of 6. We were told our table would be ready in 5-10 minutes no biggie. I looked around and counted literally 12 open tables. The hostess though nice looked like a deer in headlights as other people started arriving. Wandering back and forth she the took time to talk to her friends. 20 mins later we still haven't been seated. At least 2 other parties who were on the "10" minute wait left before us. Finally after 25 mins and 8 still open tables we left as well. Last time we will be going here! read more

My wife and I go to a new local restaurant at least weekly and the ones we like are added to our Go-To list which we'll frequent. Something is different. We used to come for an occasional drink and the bartender was good and knowledgeable. Haven't been in a few months. Came in today. What, no drink menu available now?! Bartenders don't know how to make the drinks and there were more employees hanging out together than there were customers in the restaurant. And we were charged a lot for the drinks. Clearly management has gone downhill. Can't speak to the food but hope management makes some bar improvements soon read more

We were so excited to eat at ToScany's after my inlaws said what a great experience they have had on multiple occasions for happy hour I'm sorry to say - we had quite the opposite.....such a disappointment since when we walked into the restaurant it did smell like an Italian Grandma's home 1. Caesar Salad - way over dressed....tasted like cheap kraft parmesan cheese pretty much inedible 2. Garlic knots - were cold, drenched in olive oil, barely tasted of garlic and tasted stale...really? you're a pizza place - they should be pipping hot and made to order 3. Sausage and Peppers - completely overcooked 4. Meatballs - unimpressive the only thing this place has going for it is you could potential get out of there for $10 during HH (less than some fast food places now a days.....) read more

Good to see them back! No, they did not actually go anywhere, but for a while there the pizza was sadly dissappointing. We decided to give them another try and were elated that the pizza we used to love is back, and maybe even better. Having driven by this place many times in the last couple of weeks and seeing the Edison Lights I thought it might be worth a try. I should also add I'm not a sucker for ambiance. I've had many a good meal in places where you see the occasional roach on the table or would rather use a portapotty than their washroom. It was around 9PM on a Saturday night so we were seated right away. Our waiter promptly took our drink order. Someone told me they heard the wings were good so we ordered some. We also ordered a Pepperoni, Mushroom and Kalamata Olive pizza. We overheard one of the other waiters tell his table that this place has no freezers, microwaves or fryers. They need a fryer. The wings while plump and juicy were like they had been cooked in a microwave. The skin was rubbery and none of the fat was rendered. When the pizza came we had our wing plates ready to be taken away. Not this time. The waiter had other things on his mind. And he didn't notice that more than half the wings were still untouched. OK, the pizza. It's not Grimaldi's, Rosati's or even Casanova Brothers. Grimaldi's has the natural casing pepperoni that crisps, cups and is really greasy. That's a good thing by the way. It also has fresh Mozzarella and the sauce is not really sauce but fresh tomato crushed on top of the cheese. I think Grimaldi's is far better. Rosati's is better also but in a different way. The pizza was better than Domino's, Little Caesar or Papa John's. The crust was thin and crispy with a nice crust. The sauce was ok as well as the toppings but, the toppings were sparse. All except the cheese. Actually too much cheese is not a good thing in my eyes. The amount of cheese was a bit much. Not way to much. Amalfi has way too much cheese. This place is better than Amalfi. Did I say that after we had eaten half our pizza, had our drinks refilled twice, the dirty plates from the wings were still there. We had them stacked so they would be easy to take. Four other workers had walked by our table and not a single one noticed. We had two pieces of pizza left and the waiter asked if we wanted them boxed up. He also asked if we wanted the wings boxed and we told him that they weren't that good. He mentioned that the table behind us had the same comment. Still didn't take the plates. The manager came over and said that he checked our wings and we were right. They should have been cooked longer. He also took them off the check. We also had a conversation about the lighting. While the Edison Lights are nice all the spot lights make it brighter that a night game at Wrigley Field. He said they were working on that. There is a pizza close buy that's just as good. The Basha's next door. They have a brick oven. They use the same cheese and pepperoni. It's also only $10 bucks for a large. Not twenty. I have had far worse and I have had much better. It's not bad but it's not somewhere I would go back to unless I didn't want to drive the extra few miles to Grimaldi's. read more

This is our go to place for PIZZA. We only go on Tuesday,because it is half price pizza night. They have a coal fired pizza oven that cooks the pies more quickly and gives the crust a nice crispy bubbly texture. Good quality of toppings,we prefer xtra cheese,tasty sauce also. One of our friends tried the GF crust and approved. Other items we have tried...Side salad,simple,ok. Garlic knots,great,seasoned well. Meatballs,fantastic with a crunchy seared outside and one of our favorites. This restaurant also seams to have a busy bar area but we have not sampled the alcohol. Smells amazing when you walk in, so you assume the food is legit but it's subpar. We ordered the garlic knots and they were tasteless and the dipping sauce tasted like canned blended tomatoes. We obviously were nervous about the pizza we had ordered and when the waitress came back she wasn't even interested in why we had her take back the appetizer. It was like the return of the food was commonplace so she didn't need to know why. Morgan was our server today... Today was our second visit after the first being terrible!! Today was awesome food but the service was just as awful as the first time unfortunately. She took way too long to get us our drink and food orders and seemed to "forget" us She brought us the wrong pizza and comped us for it but then had to wait for the original correct pizza. She wasn't very apologetic for her mistake and instead (she later gave us the wrong pizza free) just kept saying our pizza was coming up. When she does get our food I had tried get her attention very loudly bc she couldn't hear us to get us refills only to be brought a drink with a bug in it, I had a 10% coupon for yelp and they didn't comp anything further for the bug , mistake or overall lack of service ; AWFUL Totally disappointed and won't be back again!!! We use to love it here but on Friday night we called in for a pick up and when I got there (earlier then the pick up time) they gave me a pizza 5 min later .. cold.. I didn't notice till I got home or I would have said something I had kids waiting for food so we warmed up our pizza and ate .. we never went back .. which is too bad because we really like that place .. it may have been a bad night for them so maybe this can help them in the future. Love Tony's for pizza, but I do recommend dining in much more than take out. The prices are good and the pies are delicious. They have a decent menu that also includes some great appetizers such as a hummus plater and meatballs. They have a nice bar and several interesting local draft selections. So happy for a new restaurant in my neck of the woods! Even better that it is good... This place just opened in the Bashas shopping center on the corner of Gilbert rd. and Chandler Hts. Not much out this way- so we end up hitting germann and gilbert. We ordered the garlic rotolis- which are kind of like garlic knots but bigger and yummier. Followed it with a large pizza with pepperoni (we are a pretty plain group-lol). Gave the chicken wings a try as well and went with the Italian style which is made with roasted onion and garlic. All the food was delicious :) The price was pretty much what you would expect...I believe our bill came to $30 bucks. The restaurant is also decorated really well and the bar has I believe two or three tv's which had the games playing. Seems as though people had already deemed the place to be a good neighborhood spot to sit and watch the games and the bar seats were all full. Enjoyed and will go back! read more

We found ToScany's on yelp and although we've probably passed this intersection hundreds of times, we had no idea they existed. They are a bit tucked away, south of and around the corner from the Basha's grocery store. I'm so glad we found them. We stopped in for lunch and realized we'd found a little gem! Actually, it's not so little. It's a really nice space, well designed with comfortable seating and a good number of tables so you don't feel crammed in between other patrons. It's clean too! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and our food was really good! So I don't know what else one could want from a restaurant! Thanks Yelp, for helping us find this place! The pizza here is always tasty, it's not a great value at $20 + for a large, but it is consistently good. I like the flavor that the charcoal oven adds to it. They are generous with the toppings. I ordered a Caprese salad to share between three of us. When I got home and took the box out I was amazed at how tiny the salad was. I'm not exaggerating when I say they probably had to hire someone with tiny hands specifically to make this salad. It's an absolute ripoff at $9! Bottom line - skip it. It was self seating, and we waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged, ordering 3 sodas. 40 minutes later, we still did not have our drinks. The waitress stopped at our table 3 times during the 40 minutes - Visit 1 - "I took your drink order didn't I?" Yes. "They'll be right out." Visit 2 - "You don't have your drinks yet. Oh, we're working on it. Do you want a menu?" Yes please. (She tosses one menu for the two adults onto the pizza try holder and walks off). Visit 3 - "Oh, you don't have your drinks? We have someone at the bar who is going to help bring out everyone's drinks. There are a lot of people here. You'll have them soon." Directing this line of magic to my wife, not looking at me, likely due to me having a somewhat angry expression on my face by then. No time for apologies or to walk out 3 sodas, only the time necessary to make excuses. For the first time in my life, I told my wife this is ridiculous and we left. I couldn't imagine subjecting us to the annoyance that was sure to follow had we stayed and tried to order food. I'm pretty sure we'd still be there, severely dehydrated, hungry and sad. There were some Buffalo Bills fans there that had organized a gathering to watch the game, which apparently overwhelmed the staff with the extra 30 or so patrons. Props to them, as they provided better service than the establishment. They handed out pretzels, homemade beef jerky, and Bills napkins. If I was involved in running that place in any capacity I would be extremely embarrassed. For that to happen though, you have to care about your customers, and this crew clearly does not. read more
