Came and got a few cakes for a work birthday. I got a few because everyone likes different things. I got the mango, cloud, triple chocolate and cheesecake. Coworkers oohed and ahhed over the mango and cloud cake which were fruit based. I preferred the cheesecake and the chocolate, maybe just because thats my preference. The cheesecake was nice and dense, i really liked this one. The butter cream frosting on the mango was rich and creamy. Everyone found something they liked. I'd go back for the cheesecake. The cakes were not overly sweet which was nice. Tous Les Jours is a Korean based chain which is why its located inside the H Mart on Balboa ave, they also have individual pastries for your daily pastry fix, just grab a tray and tongs and grab what you want and bring it to the register. I've ordered several cakes from Tour Les Jours now and I'm in love! These cakes are not over the top sweet or covered in frosting. Just the right amount of everything! The first cake we tried was for the MIL birthday and the cake was a success! She usually never likes us fussing over her for her birthday. Nothing over the top like going out to a fancy dinner (we have to run it by her first if we even try!) or getting an extravagant or even a regular birthday cake from Ralph's. We usually get her a small bundlet and that's it. (Meanwhile FIL gets a fancy birthday cake every year!) I was over it! No more minimal for the MIL birthday cake! I was looking for a simple semi-fancy cake, nothing more than a couple of tiers, 5-8" overall that will easily feed 4 people. Nothing with over the top decorations, overloaded with tons of frosting and overly sweet. Came across Tous Les Jours which is a French Asian Bakery. This location is inside H Mart off of Balboa. They have a website to be able to see all the cakes and bakery items they offer and what the cakes consist of on the inside, which is great! Absolutely love it! For the MIL cake I decided to get a buttercream cake, the Heart Choco Cake #2. Layers of chocolate buttercream and chocolate sponge cake. It looks like you can order for delivery or pick up, but not able to find the Balboa location. Not sure if it's because this location is inside H Mart. Since it didn't look like I can order online, I called the Balboa location. They require at least 1 day in advance to place a cake order. You will also have to prepay for the cake to place the order. They open at 8 am but pick up times are after 10:30 during the week and 11 am weekends. I needed another cake and decided to order a Chocolate Cloud Cake (#3 size) cake for my sister's birthday. I bought this cake just for my sister to have so I didn't get to try it, but she has nothing but good things to say and how delicious it was! The last cake I bought was for Easter. It was a Strawberry cloud cake (#3 size). It was a beautiful strawberry layered sponge cake with cloud cream and a layer of strawberries. It was so deliciously light and fluffy! It was like taking a bite out of the cloud! All the cakes were a delicious success! MIL loved her cake so much, she kept it and I didn't have to take it home and the best part... she ate the rest of the cake herself without sharing that night! Each cake was about $50. Visited on a Saturday evening post dinner. First time inside Tous Les Jours. Likely the last. Tous Les Jours, had little to no pastries left (which I knew given the time). We managed to find a couple items (Minnie winnie croissants (similar to pigs in blanket), cheesecake, white sweet bread, and other similar overly sweet breads. Too sweet in my opinion. I think I ate half of one and that was plenty. It might be an unfair comparison but in my opinion I find 85 degrees significantly better quality and overall experience. Tous Les Jours (TLJ)... French... I guess it means every day or something like that? They make delicious pastries. Think a long the lines of 85 Degrees, Paris Baguette (PB), and Sunmerry Bakery. Their website says, "French Korean inspired pastries." They are located inside of H Mart near the front of the store entrance. They have a huge selection and it can get difficult to decide what to buy. Some of the things I like include their Pain Au Chocolat, Strawberry Croissant, Hazelnut Croissant, Yuzu Pie, and Caramel Apple Pie. Aside from pastries, they also sell some bread, cakes, and drinks. I haven't tried any of their cakes or drinks yet, but I have heard they are okay. Their pastries are pretty much on par with all the other bakeries I mentioned above. TLJ does offer some pastries that other places don't make or have and vice versa. One difference that is noticeable are their prices. TLJ is selling many of their pastries for $3.50 and higher (as of time of this writing early 2025). I'd say 85 Degrees and Sunmerry provide better value... charging $2.00 - 3.50 per pastry. So if you're wanting to save some mulah, 85 or Sunmerry has better pricing and also offers delicious pastries. TLJ is pretty clean. They have clean trays and their pastries are individually wrapped, of course. Service here is okay. I feel like they are friendlier and more personable at 85 and Sunmerry. The parking situation here at H Mart can get crazy during peak hours and some people create their own parking spaces in front of the store and in other areas of the parking lot. Overall, TLJ has some unique delicious offerings. With the parking situation and value... I've been to Tous Les Jours in the OC. I wasnt impressed. Since i was at Hmart and craving sweets I thought i would give it another chance. It helps that I came early and they had plenty of goods to choose from. They have so many options that it was hard to choose. Service was fine. I got the strawberry soft to share but ended up eating the whole thing myself. It was so good. The bread was so soft. The cream was not too sweet but very light. I also got the milk pillow bread. I absolutely adore this place! Anytime I shop at H Mart I have to at buy at least a couple of macaroons from here before I leave. They're each so unique in flavor and I always wish I had bought more. & the store front is so cute! Everything is displayed nicely in the cases. They train their staff pretty well here as I've always had smooth service here. I regularly buy the cream pan for my partner and a lavendar latte for myself. I wish it has a hint more lavendar but it's never a big deal because the latte is good in general. This is my go to spot for birthday and celebration cakes. One thing to note is they are starting to use jam instead of real fruit in the cakes which is disappointing. Really hope this reduction in quality isnt taken too far in this economy. Line gets pretty busy during some times of the day but the workers are very efficient! Pastries are on the more pricier side, but the chocolate pretzel was flakey and sweet, and the warm croquettes were a hit, especially the curry one! I asked for my matcha to be less sweet, and I reccomend asking for less ice because it became very diluted. read more

The display area was smaller than the former and was about the same size as the latter. I was looking to pick up some baked goods for a snack so I focused on those as opposed to other confectioneries like the cakes, pies, macarons, etc. My choices were the Custard Cream Soboro, The+ Milk Bread, and the Red Bean Bread. The best of this bunch was The+ Milk Bread because it had the proper ratio of sweetness to carbs. The prices for their products were similar to the other two places. It is hard for me to go into H Mart and not stop here to grab some snacks on the way out!! It's a trap and it gets me every time! They're also the only place on convoy open before 11am that sells coffee and pastries so make them your go to mornin stop, it's worth it. I have tried many things but I finally took a photo this time. Todays visit was to grab coffee and snacks while waiting at Subaru. I grabbed the mocha bun and the sweet potato cake as well as a cold brew latte with almond milk. Mocha bun: soft and chewy! The filling in the inside was the perfect amount and it had a thick consistency that held it to the bread. The mocha flavor was dominant and I could've eaten ten more. sweet potato cake: soft and fluffy pound cake! Melted in my mouth. It wasn't very sweet potato'y but it was still really good. Cold brew latte: I really liked it. I didn't add any sugar, just the almond milk they put in. Way better than the only other coffee shop open in the early mornings (Starbucks). The one item that I would always recommend grabbing if you see it is the TARO BREAD!!! I love it!! So much. So yummy. As toast, French toast, just plain, toasted with cream cheese. 11/20/21 around 11AM PST Located inside H Mart Balboa, Tour Les Jours is located on your right when you walk in. They are across from the food hall consisting of Katzya, Boonsik, Bann Korean Cuisine, Zzang Rice Hot Dog, and Kangnam Chef. They have a selection of breads and pastries and also serve coffee, drinks and smoothies. Bathrooms are also located right next to them. I wasn't looking to get full and chose a sweet potato cake after analyzing all my choices. Some of the ones I would have gone for were out of stock. As for drinks, they had a new one that caught my eye called 'Strawberry Latte.' I asked for the cashier's recommendation, and she said it's pretty good cold. I went with her suggestion. There were plenty of seats in the food hall, so I sat down. They were playing contemporary music in the background like 'Listen to your heart' and some old school songs. Sweet potato cake was a good choice, it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet but also not too filling. To me, it was just right. Very soft and melted in my mouth. The strawberry latte was different and something I haven't had before. It tasted pretty similar to a strawberry smoothie. Plus there were actually strawberry pieces in it! I had ended up randomly coming here as the first Tour Les Jours location was in NY. So was feeling a bit reminiscent. I always have to stop and get something when I'm on my way out of H-Mart. There are so many breads that are good. While the prices are higher than some of the other Asian bakeries, I think the quality is definitely better. The croissants taste like they are made with actual butter and not margarine or oil. They are nice and flaky and buttery as they should be. My favorite item is the Mont Blanc which is basically a giant croissant rolled up into a brick. They are fantastic as long as they are cooked well. Unfortunately even if they overcook them, they still put them out to sell, which is why I took off one star. Most of the items I've had, I've really enjoyed. Only a few I haven't liked but that's just a preference issue, such as sugar in the garlic bread. I like my savory items savory and my sweet items sweet. The strawberry cream croissant is another great item, really all of their croissants are great. It's my favorite item to get.
