Bought 2018 Kia Sorento from webpage. Photos of vehicle were decent. I inquired about the vehicle and the details of the car. Was told it had a 3rd row seat (I have teens) and it did not. Took the suv to have transmission looked at (under warranty) and was told it was not covered by the power train warranty. If they looked at the suv, it would cost $65 to diagnose. I was having issues with the skid plate coming loose and wiper fluid drainage and they charged me $800. Both problems were fixed at the same time and i was charged labor ($169.95 x 2) for both issues. Plus the parts and miscellaneous fees. We just wanted to see the inside of vehicles to figure out what my wife liked. The guy standing at the front window stopped us and told us "Yes, the cars are unlocked to see. But asked us to come in first to find a car. Good I just wanted to know the lease deals so figured why not. Told Mr. Thomas up front we didn't want to buy, just checking out cars at the different brands and getting the lease deals from everyone in the area. He gives us the biggest run around, takes down all my information. And I tell him again, we just want to know the lease deals and want to look around. He leaves, and doesn't come back. Mr. Thomas sends his boss to convince us they have the best "MAINTENANCE SERVICE CENTER" (What the fu¢k does that have to do with me, I work on my own cars) and that this is the best time to buy. And still DID NOT show us or tell us the lease deals. All I asked was one thing and he tells us about the Maintenance Center. Wtf. Waisted our time. Then he finally looks up the lease deals online and we asked to see a car, he says oh we don't have that one. Or that one. Or that one. But we have the Kia soul. You just waisted an hour of our time to tell us you don't have any cars. So we leave to go see the cars they do have outside and they're all locked. So the first guy lied to us initially. This place is trash, their car selection is trash, and they're sellers can't be trusted obviously. Why lie and give us the run around except to keep us from shopping other places. This place is a rip off, I Bought a warranty on a used car, for extra coverage My Alternator went out and it cost me a $1,000 i called the warranty company and tried to a claim, i spefically told her the car was at Firestone getting fixed, and that I would give my warranty info to firestone so they could c0ontact her. And get the ball rolling on this claim. In the meantime it was the weekend and I need my car to for work 1 Firestone never contacted the FIRST AUTOMOTIVE company, so contacted her again and asked could she start the reimbursement paperwork. Thats when she told me that it was highly unlikey that i would get reimbursed since it happen SO LONG AGO (2weeks), and then she told it wouldn't happen because i didnt go through the Delarship to get the car fixed, which was never stated to me when purchasing this warranty.AND IT IS NOT STATED ANYWHERE ON THE CONTRACT THAT I was given I felt honestly like this woman was just making all this up As she went along. So when the warranty company told me that they didntt want to reimburse me or pay out this claim that I had I went to the dealership andid the dealership and got in touch with Joe the finance guy who sold me this FAKE WARRANTY He tells me hes gonna take care of it. And it's be all no problem you know and I don't know why they would do that to you. So according to my paperwork this was the first time the invoice had been sent into First Automotive this lady was denieing it without even seeing it or knowing what it was Finance Joe calls me back and states that the mileage is off and it's out of warranty I say impossible, but it was jn the paperwork not on the car on the paperwork it read 120,000 when it should of read 102,000 So I get the correct paperwork back to TOWNIN KIA Firestone wrote the wrong mileage on the invoice and TOWBIN KIA/First Automotive warranty company made me get a whole new invoice instead asking their sevice team or lookung at my recentxsmog check which us meantime I asked Joe Hey man come out look at th is clearly in and I show him my my Smog Check which had been done the day before the alternator went outhe He said to me he didn't know what kind of fraud I had going on but it seemed sketchy No Joe the plan that you sent me I want you you signed me up for that's sketchy you're sketchy that 1st Automotive is sketchy. Of course I don't know if has me jump through all these hoops to get them the right paperwork and then the sign is back to them and resended I was down back-and-forth at Kia probably 3 or 4 times just to get this all Situated For them to call me back in an hour and say no again this time they stated no because I had canceled my plan I said you mean the plan that is not paying out I canceled it so I could at least salvage some money from it. Finance Joe was the main one you can't get this now because you canceled your plan to start Can't cancel something that never was. Funny enough every time I got there the car "just sold" and I was presented with a different car much higher than my budget. Classic bait and switch. I was also promised a gift card for every test drive. I test drove three cars in two different trips. I asked for my gift cards and was berated as to why I really came in smh. After pushing THEIR promo.... I got 1 card in the mail. I asked the dealership why only one and a random person texted me, refused to give me their name, stated rudely I would not be receiving what was promised or promoted and then ignored my further questions. Extremly pushy, bait and switch and rude while ignoring me..... no wonder why I took my CASH somewhere else! I'm frustrated with the service at the service department. It's been two weeks since we took our Fiat to the service as it failed smog check as there were errors needed to be followed up. They explained what they would do but they haven't given us the update after unless we have to call and ask them every time. I still have no idea why it is taking so long. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS This is a long one so stick around for the whole story but if you take anything away, please spare yourselves and go somewhere else. For weeks I have been wondering if it was incompetence or just plain slimy deceitfulness that I experienced at Towbin Kia. Either way, I would warn anyone against doing business with any Towbin dealership, but Kia especially. I have a 2019 Kia Soul with just over 70k miles on it. I had not had any major issues with it so far, then it broke down out of the blue. It's still under the original warranty so I had it towed straight to Towbin Kia where I bought it. I was told it is an engine issue and I have warranty for that but that they would need maintenance records. Little did I know that they wanted to see at least 15 oil change receipts. I was able to produce many but not all and was told after going back and fourth with warranty that they were declining coverage because of that. I was frustrated but understood that this was a technicality. I asked how to proceed with repairs and wanted to know what the specific issue was because when I asked I was told they weren't sure and they'd "have to take the whole engine apart" to find the issue and that that was too costly and not worth it. I was told that the whole engine needed to be replaced because of this. I was confused as to why the recommendation would be a whole new engine when we didn't even know what the issue was. I was continually blamed that because I hadn't maintained it well enough the whole engine was "probably ruined". Yet they still suggested against further testing and I was recommended to talk to sales and get a trade in offer. Since my car was already there and had been towed I decided to hear how much would be offered to sell the car..... to which I was told one thousand dollars. For my 2019 with 70k miles in great condition other than this issue. And of course they tried to talk me into a new car. No thank you. After what I've learned about the terrible craftsmanship of Kia engines through my research while dealing with this I wouldn't touch another one with a ten foot pole. Now i had been renting a car for multiple weeks because this was taking so long to figure out. I was speaking with Peter who is apparently the service manager but is impossible to get a hold of and I'd go days trying to contact without hearing back. Once after trying to call multiple days in a row I drove down in person and was told he was in meetings at another dealership all day. Not to mention his condescending attitude. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a woman or just not a car expert but the guy has a knack for making you feel stupid for not knowing how everything works. I'm a single mom who works full time, I need a car to get around and can't afford the amount it was costing to rent a car for weeks on end. I was being told my car was basically worthless and unfixable so I went to Honda and bought a new car and had the Kia towed to my house to figure out what to do with it. I was then notified by the tow truck driver that they drove the car out to him at the dealership. I was still under the impression that it couldn't turn on or run. This shows me that there is no way the condition of the engine was as dire as they made it out. I decided to have a friend take a look before selling it off for parts.... And wouldn't you know it IT WAS FIXED WITHIN AN HOUR WITH A PART THAT COSTS $160. (The engine did not need to be "completely taken apart" to find the problem.) So now I have an outrageous new car payment that I wasn't expecting and can't afford when my old car that i just finished paying off is just fine. I've been driving it around for 2 weeks now with no issue. But cannot take the new car back and am stuck with. So. My take home from this is that they saw an opportunity with my warranty being voided to make some money and take advantage. It's a win win for them as they get the opportunity to try to make a new sale to someone who is desperate and has been waiting weeks without a car, and in addition they get my old car practically given to them for $1000 and they can fix it for $160 and resell it. As the going rate for similar is $15k+. Slimy deceitfulness is my guess. I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this one. read more

BEWARE! The free registration and tax promotion is a scam. They flushed us with yesterdays lunch after we took delivery and sent them the DMV receipt as instructed. Once you drive off the lot they are done with you. Evidently this is common to other customers too we're learning. We've been in extensive contact with Tobin's customer service and sales Dept through multiple emails and calls over several months and they've balked in honoring the promotion. So let start off by saying I went to Jim Marsh Kia Dealership yesterday. It's is so close to my house. Let's say the experience was interesting to say I would give them 1 star. So my wife, kids, and I drove across town to Towbin Kia. We had a totally different experience. I will start with the finance manager Joseph. Super nice guy, great attitude, very down to earth and while still trying to sell us more products because that is part of his job. He never came off pushy or demanding. He really is a nice guy. My wife and I had a fantastic experience with him. Now we will talk about my sales lady. Her name is AAliyah. The title is a sales and leasing consultant. She was fantastic, went above and beyond the call of duty. She really listened to us, and trust me, my wife and I were playing hard ball. Even tho she is young, don't make the mistake she can play hard ball also. For a young lady, she acted like a season vet. We were also very impressed because she liked 20. I hate to say this, but older generations sometimes see this younger generation as lazy. She is definitely not defined by her generation. She was a hustler, and the customer support was on par with top-notch service. If her boss is reading this review, give her a bonus or a raise. She was fantastic. First things backstory. My husband and I are in need of a reliable car for less than $10,000. We are about to purchase a home soon so we don't want extra car repairs but know buying a used car is a gamble so taking our time buying the car. We get a call from Alex at Towbin Kia saying they have a 2012 Nissan Sentra as a manager special. Already pretty hesitant as those car tend to have bad transmission, I should know as I had one. The car has 80,000 miles and pretty decent service records and was really cheap so we figured we could take a look at it. Admittedly, we should have taken our own experience from having a Nissan Sentra and said no thank you from the get. We get there, the car has some cosmetic issues and it smells strong of smoke, but what do you expect with a car that's pretty cheap. Cosmetic issues I can get past. Finally to the test drive. It drives fine for the first five minutes on residential streets. We get to a street by the Ocean Spray factory, it's unusually empty and on an uphill. My husband steadily speeds up to 50mph and the car starts stalling until all lights come on and it slowly dies. He manages to get it going to move to the side of the road and calls to tell them the car broke down. They come pick us up, a guy comes to drive the car back to the dealership. It starts up with no problem. Back at the dealership, the salesman that drove the car back immediately questions my husband: Salesman: What happened to the car? Husband: I took it up to 50mph, it stalled and shut off S: Well it drove fine for me. You been looking for a car long? H: A while. Why? S: :Looks at our little reliable 2007 Toyota Corolla: Is this car for you wife? Because it drove fine for me. H: it didn't for us, it broke down. What are you trying to say. We didn't do anything out of the ordinary to the car. S: This car is perfect. There's nothing wrong with it. You have a good night. We understand that things can get missed in used vehicles but the way we were treated was unacceptable . I'm not sure what the salesman was thinking we were trying to do but that was a crazy experience. If I ever need to recommend a dealership to anyone, I would definitely say don't go to that one. When you make a 9:00 am oil change appointment and they tell you it will take an hour and half for it and another half hour for a system recall they just happen to know about before you made your appointment and didn't bother to tell you. So here we sit for two hours with a lot of things to get done before heading into work. Obviously appointments don't make a difference here. Almost gave up on Kia after I was having numerous problems with my Forte that seemed to just keep popping up, specifically spark plug misfiring and brake rotors being warped. However, I decided to give them another shot when I decided to purchase my new car. Kia SUVs were highly rated on KBB, so I got my pre-approval for my car loan and got some appraisals for trading in my Forte. Towbin Kia had the second highest appraisal for my Forte, just a few hundred dollars short of what CarMax was offering me, so I went in and they matched it no problem. Troy was the salesman assisting me and though they didn't have the largest selection of new cars due to the market and availability, he helped me find a few solid options and helped me find the car that best suited what I was looking for, conveniently enough this Sportage had just rolled onto the lot that morning! After Troy checked to make sure it was available for purchase still, the paperwork went smoothly and fairly quickly. They took care of everything for me and made trading in my car and getting me in the new SUV incredibly simple! Warren is the guy who went over all the paperwork with me, and let me tell you guys, he's the man! He's funny, helpful, very lax, and a hard worker! When the bank that I got my pre-approval from refused the dollar amount of the new SUV I was purchasing, Warren went to a new company and got me approved for a loan with a slightly higher APR, and to compensate he took $1000 off the SUV so my monthly payments would stay the same! Then came the cherry on top of my whole experience, sorry I meant to say, the Kerry on top! As I was transferring everything over from my Forte into my new Sportage, they sent out the lovely, wonderful customer service manager, Kerry, who went over all of the functions of my Sportage and made sure I understood the car inside and out as well as setting up my Kia Access app. Kerry is truly a gem and she's been available to help me with any questions or concerns I've had at any time! All in all, these 3 had made my first car buying experience as easy as buying a new pair of shoes, just with a lot more paperwork. I'm still convinced I signed my soul away on one of those papers, but that's ok, I know they'll take good care of it! I would also like to give a special shoutout to Joe and all the other people in the service center! Whenever I was struggling with a problem on my Forte, the lovely people in the service center took care of it and got my car running smooth again, at least until the next problem arose. Seriously though, it may take them some time to identify or fix a specific issue but I can guarantee you they're constantly working to find a solution to any of your car troubles, and they're all genuinely caring people who will help you out any way they can, especially Joe! I'd like to thank all the employees of this Towbin Kia for being so helpful in all aspects of buying or servicing a vehicle! You all deserve a kiss on the forehead and a raise in my opinion! I'll be sticking with Kia now, because I'm convinced the lovely people at this location will help me with anything I need. read more
