TELLURIDE BUYERS BEWARE (Long post, Please read) This review is solely based on an attempted purchase of a Telluride, which is a top-rated SUV at the time of this review. So look, it is tough for me to give 1 star on any review for anything. You have to do some pretty low down stuff for you to get a one-star out of me. To that end, let me explain. After weeks of research and planning, my wife and I decided we wanted to purchase a Telluride. This came with an understanding, they are extremely popular, and they are challenging to find. With that understanding, we were ok ordering one, fully understanding that there was a 6 month plus wait for them. That didn't bother us at all. After attempting to order/find the SX model that we wanted all over the valley, we tried at our last stop, Towbin Kia. Our salesperson was friendly and explained to us that we would have to wait to get one if we order, again a fact we knew. He then attempted to get us to purchase a few Tellurides that were coming to the lot within the next month. As my wife and I didn't want to do this, we said no. Being a car salesman, he attempted to get us to purchase one of the cars that were to arrive in January. We did not want the trim or color of the vehicles, but yet he continued to try, a fact we were not upset with still. When they arrived at their final offer, my wife and I were very closely convinced to purchase the Telluride in question. They told us, however, false things such as we HAD to pick two of the options as it was required by Kia. (A fact that is totally false as I will explain later.) We began to speak about the trade-in value of our vehicle, which we own outright. The salesman, and manager, brought our trade value up to a level that I was very pleased with. However, the total price of the vehicle was still higher than my wife, and I appreciated or wanted to spend. Ultimately we got them to realize we wanted to order a Telluride the way we wanted it, to which end they obliged, and we paid our $1,000 deposit. As is custom with many people, once we got home from a long day of car shopping, we began to think, "did we miss a good deal, or are we looking too much into one color." My wife and I agreed we had, and I quickly texted the salesman to say that we would like to do the deal they had discussed, via text, that if they took the trade-in value we had discussed, we would-be buyers at the final price we were shown. The next morning, I was told that they could not take the trade-in for the value that was discussed and, in fact, could do the trade-in for almost $3,000 less. Feeling slighted for that level of change, I told the salesman that I could not believe he would tell us something he couldn't actually do. His response? "Sorry, I was just trying to negotiate with you." By overpromising me something, you could not provide? Being slightly annoyed at the sleaziness of the car buying purchase process, I tried one more option, going out of state. I called up Findley Kia of St. George. They were phenomenal. I explained the situation I had, and the price I was paying. Immediately they said, "you are overpaying by at least $3,000." I was shocked. Within minutes we had built the Telluride we wanted, with the options that we wanted for exactly $3659.15 less than Towbin Kia. For reference, we ordered the Telluride SX AWD with the prestige package in coral white with the black Nappa leather seats and all-weather floor mats. I then drove back to Henderson, walked into Towbin Kia, refunded my $1,000, and left for the last time. I won't be naming the salesman in this story. While I'm not too fond of the way he did business, he is trying to provide for someone, even himself, and I don't want to hurt him too much should even one of you take this review seriously. However, I caution all buyers, especially the Telluride buyers, do not buy from Towbin Kia. Their markups are insanely high. I wish I could give no stars. I was also in line(if you scroll and see the review that was about a young girl with a sling and how long the line was.) I feel like this place should undergo some new management. I can't believe they do not have better policies in place. The team seems overworked and underpaid if you want honesty. I am a manager and beyond that I would never allow the line to get that long without coverage. If they don't have another cashier that is when you walk by example and as a manager you go down and help your customers. Why not? They are the reason you have a job in the first place. I am unhappy not with the employee but with management, who knows maybe its corporate however I bought my first car from kia years ago and I did NOT have that same experience. I am also going to send this review to KIA Corporate. Despite Mr. Towbin being the owner there has to be something KIA corporate can do because I'm sure they don't want this quality of service to be representing them. I feel like the service lacked. The line was long, the employee seemed over worked, no one came to help or assist, and most time I have to call multiple times. If you can I encourage others to voice there concerns so that this can be investigated. read more

I just purchased a new KIA Niro EV without setting one foot on the dealership property. I went online asked for a quote, Barbara Flowers Called me and we began talking. We scheduled a test drive later that day to see if my wife liked the car. Barbara then went back to the dealership crunched the numbers and came back with an offer that was really fair. She was really nice and talkative, knowledgeable about the EV and made us feel confident with our purchase. Don't go here!!!! To start: Jordyn met me in the lot and she was nice enough touring the place and I found a Chevy Silverado 1500 I wanted to trade my vehicle for. I asked if anything was wrong with the vehicle and Jordyn explained their 100 something point inspection and that the vehicle was fine no problems. Now as I was closing the deal on the vehicle I noticed rust on the under carriage, ALOT of rust. She apologized for not noticing it, gave no price reduction, but I still went with the deal. I've cleared rust and resealed a truck before so I figured i would just take care of it. Closed the deal. Several days later is when the real problems started: I noticed that oil showed at 12%. Had a mech check it and the oil was very old and black. Truck was shaking at 80MPH, Mech pointed out that the tires had no weights and were never balanced. Screws to the gas valve were missing also so it started scraping. Nick calls me after 4 days to sign an important form they "forgot" to have me sign before leaving. Well just so happens that form shows the rust and now a Steering Oil Leak that I wasn't aware of. Said that they would not take care of it. I asked about the oil change and he just told me that their forms shows completed and their mechs sometimes forget to reset the system. I asked him to check with a Manager and check my oil. He came back and said they wouldn't do it. So now I'm paying: $600 to get the steering leak fixed and the transfer seals on both front and back. $100 to balance all of the tires $80 for the oil change I think its BS that they wouldn't even give me a simple oil change and were not honest about the other issues until I saw the important for 4 days later. After you had been given the correct part numbers, Kia's initial failure was shipping the wrong splash guards to me.. it was Towbin's error and not mine... further... Even after your egregious error, I ordered a rear bumper applique from Towbin Kia with one digit off the last 3 numbers.. which was H9F28AU000 for the 2021 sedan Kia Rio and afterwards I corrected the the part number to H928AU100, for my 2021 hatchback.. I had gotten the corrected part numbers from the Towbin Kia URL below for my exact year, model and trim! Then on Monday 10/25/2019, you canceled my valid applique order stating because of the " frustration that you experienced with the original order".... and that "you could not pull my Vin number up"...Jessica, this is total bulcrap!! The URL below counters your reasoning for canceling my applique order... If a novice can find this information on the web, it would be more than reasonable to believe that you, Towbin Kia's website parts Mgr., a professional could help a customer with his order, especially a customer who had already given you similar proof which provided the correct applique application for my vehicle within the attached emails... I have been a loyal Kia customer for years and I have owned 4 new Kia vehicles in Vestal New York @ Matthews Kia.. After working on a deal for close to a month we finally had the final pricing negotiated for a NEW 2017 Kia Sedona (so I thought); I went to the dealer today and the NEW minivan had 786 miles on it, was dirty inside and out. Tried to negotiate the pricing again and they would NOT ,their reason, is a new vehicle. I don't care if this vehicle has not been registered, 786 miles should not be on it, the vehicle we had agreed on last week had 16 miles on it. Be very careful when visiting this dealership. First of all , overall amazing and easy experience from initial phone call to meeting Pablo and Carlos the sales reps and then getting into finance it was absolutely a seamless and easy experience. Everyone was attentive, and heard my concerns and did not push me into anything. While we were sitting in Patrick's office who is one an overall amazing person, the owner came in and shook my hand and thanked me for the business. The initial payments were a little higher than what I initially was hoping for but Patrick said not to worry and he'd work on it throughout the week to see if he could get a better deal. Two weeks ago I bought a pre owned certified car from Warren, but it smelled so bad. On my third trip up there to tried and get the smell out of the car this time I was getting my seats shampoo,but I couldn't because the service department for used cars was closed, even though I may the appointment through a manager Freddie and he wasn't even there. So, another guy Evan helped me out and I just ended up buying a new car so they bought back the smelly kia of course, I loss money! But it is September the 3rd, and they are having a BIG Labor Day weekend sale. With 0% APR financing with I have excellent credit 823, but I could not get the 0% APR. Every new car sale you get a new tv and a playstation which I did not get! The only thing I got was a higher car note with in added year and paid registration. I truly feel like I got ripped off. The next day I go online I see the same car I bought for $4,000 less! I am just a waitress, a single mom of 3 and everyday I learn a new lesson in life. read more

My husband and I bought a car from Towbin Kia. They are the worst when it comes down to communication. they don't tell you what you need in hand when they call and Harrass you on documents they need from you. We brought all of our documents in the first visit and somehow it leads into something else. when we got the car, they told us No Money down . and we haven't had the car for even a month but they needed us to come in to redo our paperwork... this company is a waste of time and patience, you're literally sitting at the car dealer ship for 5 hours just doing nothing but waiting.. I hate the fact how they call you constantly about something when they have all the information. this will be the last time I deal with Towbin Kia. they make things so much harder then what it has to be. and that's including how they treated my husband due to the fact he's a marine. The worst experience I've ever had at any dealership. Beware with working with Alex he has a short temper and bad attitude when he doesn't get his way. He doesn't care about the customer. The manager made it even worse. I came in yesterday after a phone call I got from Alex about setting up a test drive for a k5. I let him know I wasn't buying anything that day because I wanted to test drive first before I buy the version of it I wanted. He said he had a used one I could drive that wasn't the one I was looking for but that was no problem. Come day of, since the only one he had available didn't have any of the features or the color I wanted he got extremely rude he couldn't sell me and said the car I wanted "didn't exist" and that I was asking for a unicorn. That he had never had a gt k5 on the lot let alone in wolf gray. Long behold it's on the review section here too that someone else had bought that one from here. I also had done my research and found the exact car in other places so his comment was out of straight annoyance I wasn't gullible and couldn't sell me. There's videos all over the internet of a wolf gray with brown interior look it up. With the temper he showed I realized I didn't feel comfortable going on a test drive anymore with him.I just asked to see the car in person instead since I hadn't before. He said he'd be back with the keys so I stepped outside and saw him angrily talking to someone inside. The manager comes out with the same paper Alex had that he wrote down all the features I wanted.That's another red flag because it shows he didn't care to help me and only get money that he had to send him out. The manager demands me to go inside with aggressive tone and body language to go over numbers and I clarified to him what the original deal was for me coming. He literally looked me in the face and said "so you don't want to get the car because it's not the interior and exterior color you want?" as if I was stupid for having that standard. Yes, it didn't have any features I wanted so why would I pay for it? Anyways, he tried to tell me they didn't have a car to show me anymore and I asked why did they set up an appointment with me then to drive one. After he cracked he said "Well I guess I have a used one to show you I'm just trying to figure out why you're being distant". Well clearly because you and your worker are so aggressive. And the used one was the one I was originally coming in to drive so he tried to convince me a car wasn't there on purpose. I was so uncomfortable and felt so much tension from them I told him to forget it and I left. Never even saw the car. I've never gone through feeling that pushed, disrespected, and unsafe trying to just look at a car. I wouldn't recommend this location at all. I'm not sure if the change in ownership is the reason for some of the nonsense at this place or what but I hope things get fixed soon! To start off on a bright note, service department (especially Ed) is awesome! Been taking my car there for years and work was always done quickly and professionally. Never felt taken advantage of and everything was always really clear ahead of time. Unfortunately when you move to the other side of the house, things start to go south. I bought a new car there and traded in my old car on September 14th. Tilan (sorry if I'm butchering your name) took care of every request I had and bent over backwards to get me exactly what I asked for and he is (along with the service department) why this is a 3 star and not 1. After everything was sorted and I had my new car (which was shipped from Utah quickly and arrived perfect) I had to go back to the dealer several times because the finance people kept forgetting to have me sign things and filled out my paperwork with the wrong name. That aside, I had to go back over and over asking why it was taking so long for my old car to get paid off (which it did, 2 days shy of one month later) and it was always another excuse. One day Tilan was there and got it sorted out the NEXT day instead of feeding me excuses about why it wasn't done or throwing other staff members under the bus. Pretty sure he was going above and beyond the duties of a sales manager. Last thing at this point feels nit picky but worth mentioning. My lease was stated as the first month being paid for which I guess at Towbin Kia means the day you take it home, that is a payment they make for you because one month later I had to make a payment already. Feel like that was a bait and switch but please make something like that more clear if that is really the situation. Great place to take your car for service but would steer clear of buying/trading a car unless you get to work with Tilan and Tilan only. read more

I was pre-approved and went through my credit union and True Car, ready to buy. The salesman I spoke with was fantastic and they had a great selection. This is why they get any stars at all. The breakdown came when the finance manager aggressively tried to close the sale and convince me to finance with them instead. I had asked them to give me until the morning to run the numbers by my credit union rep so I could go with the best APR. The finance manager became annoyed and then became dismissive. After I spoke with my rep at the credit union, it turned out financing with the dealership would have been the best option. I did not return due to my experience the night before. In the end, I went with a completely different car and had a great experience at Auto Nation Nissan. read more

This is my second KIA from Towbin. I have always had great customer service from salespeople to finance and service. They are professional and communicative. The showroom is always busy but it seems like everyone is being taken care of. Carlos was super friendly and worked hard for my business (on his day off!) James in finance was informative and quick. Sidney helped me take delivery of my car (2021 Sorento) and was so thorough explaining it all to me. They all do their jobs well and seem to enjoy working there. read more

The service department is amazing. The times I have brought my son's Kia there Joe has been my service contact. He is always so friendly, accommodating , and goes up and beyond when servicing my son's car. Unlike other dealers, when I show up and Joe was busy , his coworker has always jumped in and helped me until Joe was free. Last time I took my car in, Joe got in to pull it around and noticed something wasn't right with the steering, I had no clue, he pointed it out and added it to the service request for me and fixed it (covered under warranty) . This last time I called I needed an appointment ASAP, Although Joe was booked , he offered to let me drop off the car and he would work on it in between other cars. Joe was honest that it may take a few days, but he was done within hours of me dropping it off. They are a great service team, great customer service . read more

The worst.... 0 integrity at all. I contacted this dealer from out of state to find a vehicle I was looking for. The original sales guy Parker was great! They said they had the vehicle in style and color coming in a couple of weeks. So we made a deal. I put down $1,000 deposit and sent over my DL and payment info. Two weeks turns into a month, but I was patient, as I know there have been delays with "Covid, chips, recalls, etc. No problem. The vehicle finally shows up last week, and my sales guy calls to tell me its here and they would work on the paper work. The next day they fedex the package to me, and I send back the next day including my check from my credit union, which was about 60% of the purchase price. The other 40% I would bring in a cashiers check from the same credit union. A couple of days later when I call to find out when I would be taking delivery, they tell me there is a problem with my drivers' license, and it wont' "Verify".....The sales manager starts by asking me if he wants me to send my deposit back... No, there has to be some other way to "verify" my identity. Then he says if I fly out there to physically scan my ID and submit a credit application, he would consider honoring the deal they made. Credit App?... I have my own financing secure long ago with my credit union. No thanks. Long story short, they say they are not going to do the deal, I call him to find out why, and he basically says there are 5 other people that want the vehicle. I'd give this place a 0 star if I was able to. Stay far away if your on a budget and don't wanna be lured into a $900 monthly payment for a $27,000 car. Cesar Hernandez and Jordyn Peterson are the worst salesman's and saleswoman I've ever come across. Little to not regard to your financial situation and credit history. Cesar reminded me about that with a smart ass remark "have you seen your credit lately?" And also disrespecting my trade in with "would you buy that car for the money your asking for?" Buddy, it's not what I would buy it for, it's what the car is worth. I found it funny how Jordyn runs to her manager after me not falling for her lies. She stayed quiet the entire time after doing so. After seeing I was uncomfortable with the offer, they run off to another potential victim. Last but not least, these people tried tacking on $13,000 over MSRP for a 2022 K5 GT-Line. How I went from a $29,000 car to $43,000? That market adjustment rate is complete BS. nice try though Cesar! Dealership has no idea what customer service means. Their service department is a joke. Been trying to cancel my service contract for 2 months to no avail. If they can't handle an oil change in a timely matter, why would I want them to touch the rest of my car. No complaints against Kia, but I will never buy another car from any Towbin dealership. Over the years I went to the service department and they have always matched me with Joe Defalco, and let me tell you, Joe Defalco is such an amazing person and service advisor it's unbelievable. He went above and beyond every single time, he is extremely patient with me and is hands down the best service advisor I have ever come across. I walked in looking for my sales man kenneth and he was out so we waited for 15mims for someone to tell us he wasn't there then a black sales women come to us stands on the chair with one knee and ask are you looking to just test drive or buy cuz don't waste my time and I said "what make u think I'm not buying?" She responded you know how much this telluride cost and I said I'm aware how much it is, what you think I can't afford or and Ik the price after tax I work at Findlay I did the calculations before I got here and she responded oh know just saying I think you do cuz you got on Gucci glasses (which in my opinion gad nothing to do with her comment) then she responded go get the stock off the car you wanna test drive. Terrible new car buying experience in early April, 2021. I have purchased cars at the Towbin predecessor Henderson Kia before and always took my vehicles there for service with no problems. However, this experience was different. I encountered salesman Troy as I was browsing the lot and was shown a few cars I was interested in (Kia Seltos and Kia Soul). I was interested in the difference between the various levels -- eg. S, LX, -- and Troy was not knowledgeable. However, I left saying that I'd do my own research and call him back the next day with questions about a specific Seltos if I was interested in a test drive. I did so and came back the next day for a test drive. When it came to sitting down to talk turkey, the information Troy gave me on the lot and over the phone was not correct (the negotiations started at a much higher new car price) and the trade in price was insultingly low. I left and the next day, purchased a new Seltos, one step higher than the one I was trying to buy at Towbin, for $3,500 less at Jim Marsh Kia. If you're a woman absolutely don't go to Towbin. My experience with Jim Marsh was respectful and professional and I recommend them. read more

Heads up got a call from Chance the GM from Towbin Kia said he had important information about our car I purchased at this dealership. It is a lie. The sales department left me on hold for over an hour. I had 5 different salespersons tell me Chance called to ask if I wanted to trade in my car however when I ask to talk to him they just left me on hold. This looks to be a sales call to past customers, they lie as to the reason for the call so you will call them back during your work day to find out that its not important they want to take your car and make you buy a new one. I would suggest this dealer ship stop the practice it not telling the true reason for the call and be making us stop our lives to find out the reason for the call was not important at all to me. read more

Brought my car in for the transmission pan. A month or so later I brought my car in for something else and they called me to tell me I needed my transmission fluid changed. I stated I had that done a month ago. Ed was nice enough to redo the job they supposedly did (but I guess did not) do. So, just because it goes to the dealer doesn't mean they did anything at all. If I could rate this dealership no stars I would. Let me preface by saying I have purchased 5 vehicles with absolutely no problem holding my own at the negotiation table and with respect of mine and a dealership's time(time is something you never get back). My recent interactions in this last week with Towbin has been none other than ridiculous and shady. I started off narrowing down a vehicle through KIA's main website, locating the inventory at Towbin. It was then I contacted the dealership and began text conversations with 'Jazmine'. I specifically stated what I was looking to get into, what I was willing to pay and information on my trade-in. This was early evening Friday and they wanted me to come to dealership. I was not able to make it into the dealership that night, but was told to get things started to fill out online credit app. I proceeded. I was advised the manager would review my info and be in contact. Manager contacts me to go over everything and not until then(after credit ran and dinged with hard inquiry) was I advised about a $14,000(yes thousand) market adjustment being added to the vehicle of interest. Never once was I advised of that before giving the go ahead to run my credit - that is absolutely absurd on top of the already lofty MSRP I was looking at. Deal cancelled. I decided to see what I could do about looking into a model with less MSRP(especially since this dealership has now already ran my credit). I reach back out to the original person I was dealing with 2 days later. I find another vehicle that I was told was 'coming in on a truck' the next day and 'if I could come in the next day, the market adjustment could be cut in half'. I do just that; arrive for my scheduled appointment with 'Bailey', travel 30 minutes with my child to get to the dealership and 1 - vehicle was NOT there and 2 - no adjustment was being made on market adjustment. I was pretty furious to now have just wasted time driving there, time in dealership and time driving home. It doesn't stop there...I then am contacted again by the original person I spoke w/ who says they really want to be able to make this happen and GM was spoken to; market adjustment would be reduced(this week only) and additional monies taken off in fees. I'm asked to contact the dealership today(11/24) after 11am to narrow it down and get deposit squared away. I do exactly that, only to be ignored for several hours after my initial contact. Finally I am told I can do deposit via email. I ask for final quote to be sent for my review. Quote received not depicting what was discussed and still not at my monthly payment/miles I stated from the gecko. When Bailey calls me to discuss, his tone and lack of customer service skills pushed me over the edge and here I am. I 100% understand everyone is out to make money, but this dealership is in the business to take advantage and give you the run-a-round while doing so. I have been in conversations with other dealerships(same Make) and others; none are being this greedy with 'market adjustments', first of all. Second of all, none have treated me like this. So, keep in mind, you have choices; don't let this dealership be one of them. Give your money to one that at least attempts to provide clear, quality service. As you can see I am also not the only customer that has run into similar situations of some/and or all of the above. And, 'Thomas' you can save a response trying to 'back your employees' as I have texts to confirm all conversations and you were not on the line when I had three voice to voice phone calls with this dealership/staff. And, bottom line, you are in the business to provide CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more
