I really really love Trader Joe's. My wife and I used to shop at Ralph's every week for groceries with the occasional weeks at Trader Joe's. Ralph's prices kept going up and up and up to astronomical amounts. Now we started shopping at Trader Joe's for our weekly groceries and the price tag is literally 50% less than Ralph's. After my wife and I work our arses off all day for the man we don't feel like cooking something overly complicated on a weekday. Trader Joe's has allot of great time savers such as pre-washed and trimmed veggies (carrots, brussel sprouts, squash, green beans, fingerling potato, etc) that you just throw right into the microwave as is and it cooks perfectly. They've got frozen veggies and pasta side dishes with a variety of sauces, the Gnocchi with tomato based sauce is great and fairly low-fat (unlike the cheese sauce one). Of course for 100% lazy nights there's the frozen orange chicken, taquitos, those mini pizzas, eggplant parmesan. Some favorite items of mine are: canned corn, pre-washed cut up swiss chard, Smokey BBQ Sauce (the best bbq sauce), orange chicken, spicy beef & broccoli, gazpacho soup, most of the cheeses they have, frozen jasmine rice, and many other things. A quick and easy dinner solution my wife and I do several times a week is get a bag of their pre-washed lettuce and make a salad with corn, artichoke hearts, gorgonzola cheese, salami or kidney beans for protein, walnuts or pecans, dried cranberries, and their low-fat cilantro dressing. The parking really sucks at this location but it's a convenient spot. There's a lot of cool restaurants around to eat at before getting groceries. Veggie Grill is next door and Playa Amor is nearby also. read more

This TJ location in Long Beach is bigger than most TJ locations I have been. I like it here because staffs are friendly. It's like a little neighborhood market where some staffs remembers your name and one cashier in particular remembers we were there last week asking him about the Plantain chips and the next week we went back, he asked us if we liked the plantain chips he recommended!! How did he remember with all the customers they have! Products are always well stocked no matter what time of day or night you come at. Easy return and exchange policy. You don't like it, bring it back! Plenty of parking in the shopping center but always busy!! Bring your own reusable eco bags. This location charges you 10 cents for a paper bag. We have a real love / "meh" relationship with Trader Joes, we love the produce, eggs, milk, meat and cooking staples. Whee we seem to have a bit of bad luck are the trader Jose's branded snacks that sound great on the packaging but generally don't meet our expectations. Chocolate covered potato chips, punt butter and jelly chocolate bars, assort cookies are just never as good as we thought they would be. Likely our own fault since we read and see the packaging and think of how great it could be, but then try it and realize it's just not that exciting. Staff here are amazing and always helpful and extremely nice. My son loves looking for the stuffed animal (i think it's the panda bear here) to get an organic lollipop for his super sleuthing skills. I would definitely give them a visit but make sure you hit up the sample counter to try before you buy. read more

This, like most other TJ's locations offers a nice selection of fresh produce, pre-packaged TJ brand items, frozen foods, and wine. We enjoy their lower price points and generally buy most of our staple items here: milk (no antibiotics!), yogurt, Kefir, eggs, meat etc. The employees are always helpful and they are super kid-friendly. Our son loves finding the stuffed animal they hide in the store - if your child finds it and tells the person at the Cust Svc counter, they will get a free organic lollipop. The cashiers also usually offer our kidlet stickers as we're checking out. The parking is usually crowded since this shopping center houses a lot of other stores/businesses. Great employees, 100% satisfaction hassle-free return policy, free samples (you can also ask any employee if you can try something and they'll gladly open it for you to taste), and interesting variety of foods keep us coming back. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the food options at Trader Joes. The frozen section was impressive. This review is for the Chicken Pot Pie which was family style. I tried it as a sample in one of the stores and decided to purchase two and bring them home. They were very good. Much better than so many other name brands. The filling was creamy with lots of chucks of chicken. My friends loved it. I have also tried the Vegan Ground Meat and it had a texture very close to ground beef. I am very impressed. It was perfect for a vegan meat sauce. The staff is usually super friendly and helpful. read more

This Trader Joe's is well-stocked and has all of the products that you would expect at a Trader Joe's. As far as being able to find the products I want, shopping here is a success. The shopping experience isn't so great though. There is no greeting or acknowledgment - it feels more like shoppers are merely tolerated. My local TJ's and one of my favorite grocers! The staff here are always cheery and kind, and you really can't beat the prices! It's a great place to get fresh ingredients at a fair price. This particular store is always stocked full of merchandises. The staff are always attentive and friendly. I like walking around this store as it is not too crowded and the parking is easy. Fresh coffee is always full and their sample station is friendly. This store is also conveniently located near Veggie Grille and other cafes. This is usually my go to trader joes since it's close to work but probably won't return. Usually the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable but I just had the worst experience today. I noticed one of the cashiers was was having issues with the till and so I went into an empty line. The cashier was open and finishing a transaction, and the cashier just looked at me up and down, didn't greet me. I was just shocked at their attitude. Usually the staff will let you know that they are ready for you when you get in line this cashier seemed bothered that I got in her line. I get it I work customer service as well sometimes we don't have the energy to be overly friendly but this was not a good interaction. Yay !! I finally made it. My first time visiting Trader Joe's and what a wonderful place :) This is great for grocery shopping if you are single, a couple, or just busy and need a fast healthy meal with little prep time. There are options for gluten free and vegan products also. It's such a treat to have a variety of healthy snacks, fresh products or frozen food that can be made into a meal or two or packaged in small portions. I often get tired of grocery shopping where the packages are made for a family and I end up eating left overs for days. I loveeeee this location! Thankfully it is close to my yoga studio so I get to go here a few times a week!! It is always clean, always stocked and always welcoming. I love the staff and have incredible, authentic and conscious conversations with them every single time. I feel like they actually care about you and build incredible rapport. I always leave knowing their names and thinking about how kind there were later in my days. Nae Nae the manager I believe, is my favorite employee out of every single TJ's I have ever been to. She lights up the room and handles every single inquiry that surfaces in the store. When I wanted to know about the cranberry covered goat cheese, I knew in an instant. ;) I love this place. This trader Joe is still nice and festive with items that are not in others. They have an assortment of things for the holidays and needs some work getting more organized. Does grocery shopping make you sad? Do you feel irritated waiting in long lines at the supermarket? Does the thought of picking something from the frozen section of the grocery store make you cringe because everything looks disgusting? WELL BE SAD NO MORE! This Trader Joe's is my favorite Tj's I've ever had the experience shopping at. And when I say shopping, I mean longing for every dessert I rest my tired brown eyes upon. Not only can you sip complementary coffee with cream and a soy milk alternative, but they're always wheeling and dealing yummy samples of treats. The staff at this particular TJ's are always so jovial, and I don't ever feel like I'm bothering anybody if I have a question about a product. As for their products, I've never not loved anything I've purchased there and they are coming out with new deliciousness quite frequently. The prices are also extremely reasonable. Overall, I can't say enough positivity about this store and I swear that the happiness exhibited from the TJ's crew gets swallowed up by the customers and even they walk around happy! read more

Why 5 stars? Because their products are all around better than other stores of same like. Their ready made items, whether it be in the frozen section or the fridge section, are very good. Some items I've noticed are better tasting than what you would find at some restaurants. Because there is a high turnover of customers throughout the day, having stocked shelves are very crucial. Especially when you're have a craving for a particular item. Traders Joes is on it. Employees are continually slicing open boxes, filling and packing all those open spaces, ready for the next hungry shopper. The prices are also very reasonable in comparison to other similar stores, as well as the supermarkets. I've noticed I can save at least 30% on the avg. This location is prime, as it nestled amongst other well known establishment. In addition to being located next to a major intersection, it's also conveniently close to the freeway. Even though it appears they have a large parking lot, it is shared with many other businesses. So be patient looking for a spot, as someone pulls in, there's always someone pulling out in a matter of a few minutes. Great location, great prices, great tasting products, well stocked shelves, friendly, helpful and efficient employees. This is my go to store. read more

I love Trader Joe's. They only problem I really have with them is that there are none within 15 minutes of my home. This TJ's has a large parking lot and is easy to access. The store is pretty large and the aisles are room as well. I saw a list of the best TJ items you should buy (i.e. black bean & cheese taquitos, chai tea latte mix, Hatch chile mac & cheese, churro bites, and the speculoos crunchy cookie butter), so I'll try them out and update my review later. The pricing of the items are reasonable compared to other grocers. In fact, many of the things I bought like mustard, mayo, and peanut butter are well below the norm. They also charge you a dime for bags if you need them, but that's fine by me. Overall, TJ's is a great place to shop with great employees and food. Just build one by my house, so you could take my money. read more

I love Trader Joe's - there are some pretty unique items and it's well priced. I could spend hours just looking at all of the unique items here. I always get my weekly essentials here - bagged spinach, bagged kale, baby carrots, milk, eggs, sweet potatoes, peanut butter, and bananas here. Always around only $20! But, my gripe with this location is that you need to be very careful about checking the expiration date on products. On three occasions, I have bought bread here only to discover once I got home that it was expired/within a few days of expiration. I most recently got a bag of English muffins that weren't expired, yet mold grew on it within a day of me bringing them home. I was not pleased. Yes, I know that TJ's would refund me for them, but it is quite aggravating when you have just had a rigorous work out and have been looking forward to that post-work out English muffin only to discover that it is moldy. Not cool! Also, the workers seem to be hit or miss here. Some are very friendly, others are not. This location is pretty busy, so I guess that would explain why some of them are not so friendly. read more

You feel a cool, gentle breeze touching PCH and 2nd street along the coast of Long Beach. A clean, decent size parking lot shared with a few other businesses awaits you. The store is rather pleasant with all kinds of folks progressive and conservative looking for something to cook at home or have a picnic at the beach. The person at the register was cool and he gave my nephew some stickers. They had a great selection of all the nutritional supplements TJ's is known for. Free samples of turkey sausage in the back and a large variety of meat including bison caught my attention. This store is another great Trader Joe store in an excellent location. Besides the location this store is pretty similar to the other Trader Joe locations I have been to though not as large as some. I give the place two thumbs up. read more

I usually always have a great experience at this location (I've tried other locations in LB and they're just not the same) BUT today Ryan (w/ the cool overalls) helped me check out and was so kind and chatted with me about my day, and THEN when I walked out & my paper bag handles broke, Aaron (I'm assuming a manager) ran inside and got me a nice reusable bag for my groceries! It may not seem like much but it's the little things for me that make me a repeat customer so I just wanted to say thank you to these nice men for the great experience.
