I have been having an affair with Joe since early November 2014. My husband is aware of this & understands the difficulty I am having in leaving him (in leaving JOE, not in leaving my husband!) cold turkey : ) We have been seeing each other every few weeks... I think however I just found my reason to finally break up. I went in and bought my "usual" and then a few new items to try. Despite the claustrophobic size of the store (its very tiny & must be the smallest one I have ever seen) & the bare minimum requirement width of the aisles, (which, if there is one of those "future customer" toddlers pushing what is supposed to be an adorable little grocery cart whilst their guardian is 20 feet away & saying "come here come here you can make it" you are screwed in having any sort of chance to shop/check out & leave within 30 minutes.), I have still persevered with true ambition and devotion. So onto my final straw. I went in there the other day 4/12/15 and as mentioned bought the usual items plus several other decadent jewels. So as I am checking out, the cashier, who is under 25 & a bit infatuated with his alleged savvy & witticism, makes a comment that puts me onto the "old people" category.....sweet! I am blushing with happiness. Then the total bill seems higher than what I had anticipated but then again I did buy some new goodies to try so I must have just lost count of the dollar amount as I shopped from that final narrow aisle. So I get my treasures bagged up & head home. Well...honestly I don't always fine tooth comb my receipts, however, when I got home & put my receipt on the counter something caught my eye in the upper portion of the receipt...it listed an item that I am deathly allergic to & would never buy. Sooooooooooooo that led to looking over the entire receipt & realizing that the first $63+ worth of items that I paid for were not mine!!!!!!!!!!! I immediately called the store & spoke with a woman that said to just bring in the receipt as soon as I was able & that they would rectify it. I told her that I live out in the Applegate but would get there as soon as I was able. It is a 35 minute drive from my house to this Medford OR Trader Joes...and I went today with my receipt. Thats a hour and ten minute drive round trip ya get me? I did get a reimbursement which I would expect,,,and a "we are sorry" as it seems to be no big deal to them..but what I had to go through to remedy this over charge in regard to my time/gas/time etc etc...they really didn't care. I would think that a corporation of their size would at least offer what has been a very dedicated consumer a gift card or something to make me feel better about giving them money again. However, they will not notice my absence nor will my lack of future purchases affect them a bit. Bye Bye Joe..it's been something....not impressed. read more

OMG! I LOVE the Medford, Oregon Trader Joe's. The employees are so friendly and welcoming here even when they are crazy busy with a crowded store, and every checkstand running with a line at them all. Jeff and Conrad greet customers as though they were family members and it warms my heart. My husband loves the sample table, the fresh Romaine hearts, the unsweetened organic soy milk, and especially the organic, fair trade Guatemalan coffee which he drinks as Talleyrand did hundred of years ago; "black as the devil, hot as hell, pure as an angel, sweet as love" so it MUST be great! I love the frozen pizzas, the Indian food, and the minced fresh garlic and basil in the frozen section which make cooking a breeze. I am waiting to try the new Bourbon coffee, and the riced cauliflower stuffing. I am a fussy French/Irish vegetarian (40 years) so I MUST mention the delicious frozen croissants! They also have yummy triple cream Brie, all types of chevre, a raw cheddar, a terrific 'surprise' cheddar and a new FOUR YEAR cheddar! For the holidays, they have a three product face collection which includes an exfoliator, a face mask and a rose gel. This makes a great gift. I miss the tomato and Brie tart, the stuffed panettone French toast, and my usual holiday yummies. I am also allergic to MSG , which in the U.S. goes by many different names including 'natural flavoring' so I read labels carefully. But, there are many, many more that I have not tried, yet. So, this is a review for the Medford store. Some people seem to be leaving reviews for the Trader Joe's franchise in general, and expressing their philosophical differences with the company itself. But my review is for the Medford store. First of all, it is just awesome that we finally have a Trader Joe's store here in our smallish community. The store is always clean and well-organized and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I have noticed a very low turn-over rate with employees since opening, so they must be treating their employees pretty well. I always find the most interesting products here - stuff I can't find anywhere else, at least not locally. This is why most of us love Trader Joe's after all. I don't need to find EVERYTHING I need or want at this store. I still buy my produce at the co-op or farmer's market. But I love their selection of natural frozen foods and I love the fact that EVERYTHING with the Trader Joe's label on it is guaranteed to be GMO-free. I will continue to support Trader Joe's and I think the Medford store is just GREAT! OK - I have always cooked frozen turkeys because a butcher friend of mine told me that they were much fresher. They don't languish waiting for the holiday but are cleaned and butchered and frozen while still fresh. This year I tried "fresh" from TJs. Kosher yet. GROSS! Missing parts, split skin, grey sections, the thing could fly for all the feathers I had to pluck off! Very bad choice! This location is a busy one... So the nice thing is there is always fresh produce being cycled through. The drawback is that if you are a late shopper, many of the products (especially the frozen stuff) may be gone by the evening. However, after each visit I feel well taken care of by the wonderful staff and their prices can't be beat. read more

Like ALL Trader Joe's locations they have both excellent priced items, and overly expensive items.......lots of bargain priced wines, good prices and selection on cheese, really good chicken sausages in a variety of flavors at a good price point. A good place to buy quality olive oils at a better than average price. Otherwise, many items are priced high, similar to a gourmet or health food store, but quality is always consistent. Friendly, smiling high energy staff, and a better than average parking lot for a TJ's! Of course the parking situation just might reflect upon the fact that most Oregonians are far more polite when driving than the typical Califonian! And before you get all bent by this remark, I was born and raised in California before coming to my senses and moving here to the Rogue Valley........ read more

I moved here a little over a year ago, and TJ's has been a nice, nearby treat in Medford. When my State Farm agent didn't have any of his organic free-range eggs, I could find them at Trader Joe's for the same price. The avocados seem to last longer and ripen better than those from other stores and are creamy and delicious, the Persian Cucumbers have become a favorite of mine, and the organic Coconut Milk and Coconut Cream without added sulfites, etc. taste noticeably better than inorganic brands. I've found the nuts and dried fruits to be a lifesaver when I need a healthy snack, and I've bought and shared the Dried Chile Mango slices with 3-4 Brazil nuts for good energy food. I've started keeping them in my car. I think most people know about their big bag of organic corn puffs, and how addicting they...are. Coming to Joe's feels welcoming, with the samples of coffee, juices and various entrees that they're introducing. On a cold day or when I've needed a touch of feeling social with just enough caffeine to lift my spirits, the only thing lacking is a jar for a quarter tip. I imagined if some could pay a voluntary donation, Joe's could use the money for a community benefit somewhere. Regardless of how well that idea was absorbed, I still think of little possibilities like this that could make a difference. Besides, if I frequent the place too much, as it's as close as a 7-11 with healthier food, I would rather not feel guilty for enjoying the flavor of the week. I have to restrain myself sometimes. ;-} This store's sample policy reminds me of New Seasons when I lived in Portland. It's funny how just a small sample of an organic coffee draws me happily into my shopping. I have found most of the staff to be positive, helpful and courteous, which is important to me, and keeps me coming back. read more

Trader Joe's has some exceptional values in wine. I like two Spanish wines with the brand name Terrenal. Both are about around $3.99 and quite a value. Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. You should take a look at them. They are great with grilled steaks, especially the Tempranillo. read more
