The atmosphere was great, and the service were super friendly and will help you pick out the best meal. Brisket - 3/5 some bites melted in your mouth while other bites were dry. Not consistent. Cornbread - 4/5 solid taste and delicious with all of the dishes. Baked beans - 3/5 nothing special. Thought they'd be sweet but were actually more savory. Rib sandwich - 5/5 so delicious!! Tender and juicy. Would have this again in a heartbeat. Mac & cheese - 5/5 delicious but wish I had more. Bread pudding - 5/5 so delicious. We went around 630pm and the restaurant was probably around 60% full only. Thankfully, they still had the meat that we wanted when we placed our order because we sawa table left because they did not have the meat they wanted. We shared 1/2 lb of brisket ala carte, a combo plate with baked beans, Mac & cheese and pork ribs, and a combo plate with baked beans, potato salad and tri-tip. My favorite was their ribs and Mac and cheese! The ribs were smoked and seasoned well and the mac and cheese was creamy and caMe out hot! The brisket and tri tip were good but I agree with some other reviewers that they lack the smokiness. I also thought their bbq sauces (came in the spicy and regular) was forgettable and could use a little more sweetness and tang. After stepping into the vegan restaurant next door on accident, we knew we had to get some protein and meat in our system afterwards. So we decided to share a two item barbecue combo at trail dust. We chose the tri-tip and the ribs. First impression was that they give you a lot of meat. Used to these barbecue places where they charge a ton and only give you like two pieces of meat. The quality of the meat was very nice.... Super tender and fresh and it hits the spot with their special barbecue sauce. For the sides we got the cornbread and the coleslaw. Both were very delicious as the cornbread was crispy and savory, and the coleslaw was refreshing instead of over doused in sauce like many other places. All in all we like this place a lot and we love the ambience. Definitely come here again if we crave meat in the future. read more

The food here was pretty fantastic. After a morning of cherry picking at Borello, we ended up going here at around 11:30 AM. We spent around $35 bucks for two regular sandwiches and sides. Some would consider it pricey, but the quality and quantity of the meats was perfect for us. We probably would've died if we got whole sandwiches, but I gotta admit it was tempting after my first bite. We highly recommend the Gaucho sandwich (brisket with Chimichurri, onions) and the rib sandwich - get them on garlic bread! The sauces were perfect and tangy. The sides with lovely (Mac and cheese; smoked beans). My husband and toddler loved the food and we left Morgan Hill happy as can be. It's probably for the best (from a health perspective) that there isn't a place as good as this around where we live in Santa Clara. We ordered ahead as soon as we left the farm and it took us about 10 - 15 to get there. Perfect timing. We ordered online which was super convenient and the staff inside were friendly. There is a nice park near the Caltrain station so we had our meal there. The place inside wasn't too jam-packed so we'd consider dining in next time. Over the past weekend , 6 of my friends and I ordered what I believe was called "the onion" family meal which included a ton of delicious food ! We had ribs and chicken , and a bunch of sides. The mac and cheese side was the favorite with the yummy white cheddar that tasted far better than most macs I have had. We were all impressed with the quality of the food! I've lived in MH for 10 years, We ate there often and you could expect a sliced brisket with a little char. Know you get some torn up bits with thick crusty char and what looks like some wet rub. Great portion of juicy meats...pork ribs, beef brisket and pulled pork and 2 choices for sides. Cole slaw and cornbread is not sweet but more on the buttery savory side. I think it paired well with the meats that way. If your thirsty they have craft beers and other beverages. I have now eaten at Traildust twice and both times were very good experiences. The ribs were just the right amount of fall off the bone but not too flimsy. I can't remember if it was tri-tip or brisket I believe tritip, was amazingly flavorful, juicy not dry. I'm also a big fan of the potato salad and the ranch beans because they have a good amount of flavor not overly salty or too much mayonnaise in the potato salad. If someone gave me a business card that said "real dentist" on it, I'd immediately start to question the validity of that dentist. That's why I was skeptical when I saw that Trail Dust had a sign that said "real smoked BBQ". Their sauce bottles also threw me off. It said how it has all natural ingredients and then it went on to say all the things that weren't in the sauce. There was no high fructose corn syrup, no MSG, no gluten, and no major allergens. They didn't mention one ingredient that was actually in the sauce. I'm sure there are plenty of things that aren't in this sauce, I just want to know what's in it. I could have got past that stuff if the food was great, but that wasn't the case. The cornbread was burnt. They should see if people want their cornbread well done, medium well, medium, or rare. I also got the brisket, which was underwhelming. I told my friend about it later and he said never to get the brisket here. Apparently their tri-tip is much better. I initially ordered that, but they were out. Overall, if I'm going to give myself heartburn there are other places that I'd prefer to do that at. read more

Other folks ordered The chicken, pork ribs, pulled pork, etc. We ordered the beans, potato salad, and slaw. Each meal came with bread. There were two types of barbecue sauce on the table. One was spicy and then the other was a little more spicy and both were delicious. The tri-tip was lean yet tender and juicy. The brisket was delicious and melted in my mouth. It had a good balance fat to meet. I've had barbecue all over the country from Memphis to Texas, to the Carolinas and beyond. This barbecue was among the best I've ever eaten. Portions are huge.
